A/N:
Happy Monday!
Hopefully back to regular updates now :)
I couldn't take my eyes off her. Her flushed cheeks, bright smile, and the joyous glint mixed with the reflection of bright lights in her eyes as she looked up into the sparkling colors. She was perfect, with a childlike skip in her step as we made our way into the throngs of people within the carnival.
When she smiled, I smiled too. It was a reflex, an unconditioned response to the happiness she emanated from her very being. Carefree and wild, like that very first night, just like everyone who knew her described her—some with a hint of warning, others with nothing but admiration for the way she lived her life.
I truly saw it in that moment: the woman Rosalie described—she belonged to no man and no city, and there was something so inspiring about that. Bella wasn't the type of woman who dreamed of being tied down and settled in the suburbs. She was the life and soul of the party—a lioness, and the world was her savanna, vast and ready to be explored, free of inhibitions and society's standards.
When she laughed, everyone took notice, and from there, they were ensnared, watching her, wishing they were her, or with her. She was magnetizing, enigmatic, and mesmerizing, and no one was immune to her charm and free-spirited aura.
I watched her mouth as she chewed cotton candy and smiled up at me, eyes bright and hair blowing in the breeze; pink-kissed cheeks and a light-hearted chuckle that made my heart skip a beat.
I think that was the moment I fell in love with her.
