"You're such a pain in the arse!"

"I-I never assaulted your arse or anything!"

"Shut up."

"Well, that's technically the tru-"

"Shut up! Please!"

"Ahh... your words give me ideas..."

"Please... just, just shut up..."

Kneeling on the grown in despair, the leader of a party that contains nonsensically powerful but realistically foolish females grasp the red carpet of the mansion they 'luckily' got. Complaining to god as to why did such an unfortunate condition has been descended upon him.

His supposedly powerful but crazy party members stared at him in such obvious manners, can they see he's in pain currently?! With tears of grief streamed down his face, he silently recalled what happened recently.

To put it simply, a quest, a horde of monsters, a supposedly successful quest, and an unpredicted situation that happened to get their ass, which was a pair of One-Shot bears. A clueless and absolutely needless goddess, a constant in-self-indulgent crusader, and a limp little girl, oh, and add a hopeless teenager who has to depend on his party members but sadly, he couldn't. Pathetically, but honestly unfortunately, these people are all he had to depend on.

Two One-Shot Bears assaulted them from behind, the crusader tried to 'fend off' the pair, the 'goddess' wouldn't do anything other than shrieking at the top of her lungs that potentially could attract other monsters, as they were currently in a forest. And the girl couldn't even move a twitch of her fingers that he had to carry. Because the girl refused to be carried by others, no matter what. Oh, and add a worn-out guy who had to carry a girl at least half of his weight. Making her a 'burden', get it?

With such a hopeless circumstance, for the first time in his life, he blindly followed his heart and ignoring the realistic ideas he had in mind. Using a skill he received from a good friend of his, he erased his presence and ran to execute the One-Shot Bears who're distracted by the Crusader. With a single objective. Death wasn't in mind, at all.

For the first time in his life, he saw death as nothing more than an unfortunate occurrence. Death, a thing that ends it all.

Gone all the worries he had at that time, focusing only on these two strikes to kill the bears. His body feels numb, nerves stagnant, movements according to instincts. These are One-Shot Bears, a monster infamous for its swiftness when it comes to killing. How could he, a mere teenager with a speciality as "Jack-of-All-Trades-and-Master-of-None" with his current level could kill them forwardly?

These two bears threaten their lives. If he doesn't kill them, all of them would be dead. Ended. Oh, no, he wasn't worried about himself, as he could be resurrected. What he was worried about was them! Two people particularly but still! Annoying they might be, but it is undeniable that they have a sort of kinship towards each other. And he couldn't let them be gone just like that. No matter what happened, he couldn't. It felt impossible.

In his sights only existed two things, the two bears. Following his intuition, he used all he had to run, as the breezes running through his hair and skin, he appears before the bears' behind. Nothing in his mind except for these two strikes, for this one moment.

Katana ready to strike, without any hesitation, his arms moved. A single sweep, and two heads rolled down on the road. A loud clang could be heard as he falls.

'Kinship towards each other... my ass!'

That's what he always said! But his stupid 'sentiments' couldn't let them go from his life! He doesn't know if he should be thankful or not.

'No, I should not.'

'Yes, you should be.'

'No, I should not.'

'You should be!'

'No!'

'Yes!'

'No!'

'Yes!'

A tug to his sleeve snap him out of it, he shifted his head upwards and saw a pair of crimson eyes looking at him in a somewhat blank look. Blank? Since when this overconfident little girl has a 'blank look'?

"Kazuma, I wanted to go sleep, can you carry me to my room?"

She softly said, still tugging his sleeve with the little energy she has left.

"What?! Megumin, aren't you worried about what kind of harassment he would do to you?! He would take advantage of a helpless girl like you!"

A straightforward insult came from a woman who wouldn't do a single thing but making needless remarks and keeps attracting unnecessary things in his life, oh, and adds the fact she was excessively wasteful.

"I... I don't even care anymore. Yes Megumin, let's go."

It's been a year and a half they been here and he was worried that he got used to the insult she threw at him. What is this? Where's the spirit to make an even more hurtful comeback for that woman that capable to make her cry?

It was all gone. He couldn't even bother with her insults anymore.

It was somewhat worrying that he treated it as a daily thing. A certain individual couldn't help but think in concern.

He mindlessly picked her up from the coach and strides to the second floor through the stairs. Not giving any attention to the other two anymore. A stare of worry directed at him from a close distance, to interpret how exhausted he was, the stare was oddly overlooked by him.

"Hey! Don't ignore me!"

"Ah... the hits I received... Ooh- Maybe I should sleep. Aqua, I think it's enough, we're all physically and mentally tired, let's just rest."

"But he called me that-!"

"Isn't sleep more precious than blabbering insults thou?"

"...You're not wrong. Alright! Thanks for the reminder Darkness! I shall drink all night along without restraining myself!"

"...I'm worried what would happen to our finance if you actually do..."

The remaining women left for their room perspectively, cleaning themselves in the bathtub the mansion provided to remove the stench they had in their bodies. Dressing up and finally, they go to sleep.

As it was happening, a creek from an opened door and a silhouette of a person carrying a person revealed themselves behind the creaking door. The light from the moon through the window disclosed their forms. A teenage male with a pair of exhausted green eyes with dissolved brown hair named Kazuma carrying a girl who has a petite figure with a mop of black hair and a pair of big crimson eyes, Megumin.

Taking a deep breath, he strides before a considerable big bed and placed the girl on it slowly, to make sure she wasn't. uncomfortable with it. He picked up the folded blanket on the lower region of the bed and spread it over her, protecting her body from the cold.

Megumin looks up at him and stated in gratitude.

"Thank you."

Barely raising an eyebrow, he stared at her a little bit confusedly, what's up with that tone?

"...Yeah."

He nodded lightly, subconsciously helping her by removing her hat and cloak, placing them on the table beside the bed. Half lidded eyes check the still awaken girl briefly who looks down for no reason, he turned around and left the room, his footsteps from the outside could be heard by her.

Now that she's the only one left, she grasped the blanket he used to cover her tightly, a surprisingly compassionate look was all over her face. Bringing out her card, she discovered an interesting skill, and adding the curiosity she had towards the only male in her party, she felt like it was a must to learn it.

Mind Reading [100 SP] [Limited!]

Able the user to read a particular person, the user could control it at will.

Warning! Only last for a day!

It was all started 3 months ago, when they had breakfast in the dining room, while she was in conservation with her two other companions, he would eat in silence while his eyes blankly glanced at them constantly. Of course, no one noticed this but her, as the other one's mind was filled with things while the other one is as clueless as a baby. She was the most attentive one when it comes to him, to Kazuma.

Then this thing appeared, as if it was reading her mind. And, shockingly, unknown to her party members, she started to save up SP to learn this seems wasteful skill. Considering she was an Explosion Magic maniac and wouldn't even consider learning other spells even if it meant killing herself, saving up for a skill like this could be considered as Tremendously Excessively Shocking!

She was pretty much in confounds at first, why would she even consider learning this skill for a stupid reason? Curious about her party leader? That was it?

And she remembered a thing, a strange thing about him. Ah, yes, his intentions. Isn't he's a pervert? But then again, why wouldn't he touch Darkness on that one particular occasion? A pervert would definitely give in, but he? He didn't, even when Darkness continuously seduced him with her body, making an excuse that she wasn't the one he likes.

What a lame excuse! She frequently saw adventurers having one night stand, even the ones who just entered their teenage! But he? He kept making excuses such as "No, I'm nor the right one." Or "I don't have such a particular feeling towards you!"

Is he a pervert? A gentleman? Or a shy guy? But even if he's shy, he could shamelessly steal her panties without any shame at all, even when at that time it was unintentional. So it was impossible to assume he was a shy person. Then who's he truly was?! For her, observation isn't a hard thing to do. She might like to boast, but her boast has its basic. For instance, Explosion Magic, she always said it was powerful, but it is powerful! So she did not blabber nonsense, what she did was exaggerating, that's it!

Anyway, when it came to observation, she believed she was good enough at it. She still capable of judging other's attitudes. She knew Darkness was obviously a masochist but she sometimes could be compassionate too. And she too, knew that as much as clueless, dumb, selfish and delusional Aqua is, her loyalty was certain.

But what about him? Her party leader? Her, ehem, hero? Kazuma?

Her cheeks turned red briefly, technically, he was her hero. Letting her join his party when no one would, seems like it was simple but truthfully, it means a lot for her. She could live a better life, all because of his permission for her to join his party. Hero was one's saver, the one that changes the course of one's life for the better. That's what she believed.

He confused her so much, from his attitudes, way of thinking, intentions, every single thing! Every single thing about him was confusing! It made her kind of frustrated. She, a (self)deemed genius couldn't even find out who her party leader truly is?! Shameful!

So she decided, as it was a matter of one's pride, she will save up enough SP to learn this odd skill. And 3 months have passed, with a total of 16 levels up, plus the leftover SP she had, she succeeded in obtaining them.

She couldn't help it! There are so many strange things revolving around him. Sometimes he would be mean, one time he was diligent, he could be smart, decisive, efficient. But then, he would complain about things. He could be a shameless pervert too, not even caring about the revolted gazes directed at him by the villagers. One time he even considers abandoning them in a quest!

...And her belief about the 'Bad Pervert Kazuma' crumbled because of an occasion, something... odd happened.

Kazuma, the Pervert, the 'Hiki-NEET', the Trash, Scumzuma, actually sacrificed himself, in a crisis they faced in the past. She vividly remembered when they were worn out, the corpses of the enemies she didn't kill with her Explosion Magic that was executed by Darkness and Kazuma attracted the predators nearby, they already surrounded them before they even knew it.

Darkness could fend a couple of them off but there's a horde predator surrounds them, Aqua couldn't even move, fear dominating her guts, and she? She was motionless as always, the result she got from casting her Explosion Magic.

They were trembling, no joke, even she felt terrified back then. But he? The most cowardice of them all? He stood up, straighten his posture and hurls a Create Earth spell towards one of the predators, hurting its eyes. Certainly, they would be furious at him for such an impudent action.

She stared up at him. And he glanced at them blankly. He stated.

"Run."

It was unforgettable, it keeps replaying in her mind.

That day, she was convinced, he wasn't what she thought he was. She too, found out that her concern, feelings towards him is genuine. She cried that day when she saw his 'leftover'. Of course, Aqua could easily resurrect him, but she was scared. She was scared he wouldn't come back like he said that day.

He knew he could be revived easily if he died, but is giving up his life was that simple? He probably could do it effortlessly because he assumed his party members wouldn't be worried at all.

'...You're wrong, I do.'

With that assumption, she realized that accepting one's shortcoming is important so she could see the one's good side. So she could appreciate one's work more. Not just seeing one's side, but too be attentive to one's other side, especially the person she cared for.

Before that accident, she always sees him as nothing more than what most people saw him if they knew him, but now... she couldn't. Even if she knew he did it because he could be resurrected, which person in this world could be standing proudly before the enemies they certainly couldn't defeat to make an escape route for their companions? And it was all for her sake

Ehem, their sake.

It was unimaginable that a person like him actually did it, not just consider it.

She was worried that day, extremely so.

Tomorrow, she would find out what's in his mind. She was determined. To see a good side of him, just for this.

She wasted all of the SP she saved up for 3 months.

She falls asleep, the last thought she had was filled with 'If her patience would be paid off or not.'

It all depends on tomorrow!

"Ah, Megumin, you woke up pretty early, you have some things to do today?"

Darkness, in her pink pyjamas dazedly walked into the dining room, still in drowsiness, she sees a girl placing some plates containing various foods onto the table. The girl immediately noticed her and replied, as she strides back to the kitchen.

"Nope, just feel like it."

She picked up the remaining plates in the kitchen and tidily placed them on the dining table, glancing at the window that showed the sun shyly peeking the world.

"You have already prepared breakfast it seems, I was strangely impressed."

Nodding in appreciation, Darkness told Megumin that she would be out for something and they said farewell for each other. Staring at Darkness's back, Megumin has an idea.

'Let's test it.'

She used the skill she learnt, and what transpired afterwards impressed her.

'Hmm... It broke, I should buy a new one. After that I...'

She was able to hear Darkness's voice but Darkness's lips didn't even twitch.

Stopping it, she stared dazedly before shaking her head, looking at her own hands with eyes full of stars. Does this mean she could use it on anyone?

Dressing herself with her typical outfits, she hastily sprinted to the outside and take a breath of fresh air, eyes happily drifting right and left. Let's spy on people's thoughts! She smirked evilly, spilling some secrets wouldn't hurt, right?

2 hours later...

"You bastard! To think you would cheat on me for that slut!"

"W-Wait, h-honey, listen, i-it could be that someone had calumny me-"

"Quiet! Now, be gone!"

"Honey, please-"

"Hahaha! Look, that's the guy who wore girl's underwear!"

"What?! Why would he wear those? Man... weird habit developed rather quic-"

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP! I'M NOT-"

"Hahahaha!"

"Hey! That's the woman who used plastic!"

"What?! Plastic?! Who?!"

"That! That woman with a huge pair of breasts!"

"Jeez... I know they wanted to look beautiful but to this extent..."

"NO! IT'S ALL LIES! NO! PLEASE!"

Rubbing her hands evilly, a pair of bright crimson eyes secretly watched as the chaos unfolded, a proud, wide smirk clearly plastered on her face. Tipping her hat, she walked through the road full of noises while cackling evilly.

'This is more fun than I expected, let's continue!'

She disappears within the crowd, a plan already formed within that head of hers.

"...Where's Megumin?"

"She's- NOM NOM- gone this morn-NOM NOM-ing, with-NOM NOM-out giving any reason... ÕĒÙGH!"

She choked and somehow managed to recover herself within a second.

He watched in cringe as he listens to Aqua, who was stuffing her face with foods nonstop, she looks unstoppable. He shuddered and picked up a bread filled with red stuff, taking a bite out of it and left the room.

He noticed that Darkness was gone, but considering yesterday he saw that her armour had cracks on it, he already knew the reason why she's gone.

"Hey! Hey! Kazuma! W-Where you goin'?!"

"Outside, want to take a breath of fresh air."

He doesn't bother to hear her replies, complaints or insults, being in the same room with a glutton like her oddly suffocate him. He immediately open the entrance of the mansion and left. The girl who left alone in the room looks around, before throwing her food in delight.

"Haha! All the foods are mine!"

Such a glutton, really.

He looks up at the sky, with a black shirt and dark grey trousers, relaxedly walked through the road. As his mansion was far from the main town region, he had to take a walk for a few minutes.

However, his destination wasn't the city, nor it is to hunt monsters. His destination was a hill that overlooks the forest, a place where he came often with Megumin to fulfil her daily needs. A place, with silence.

Sometimes, a person just wanted to be alone. Without any possible disturbance to interrupted them.

Lately, he got a bad habit, staying up late while staring at the moon. Always nothing particular to do or think about in mind, just enjoy the peace. Maybe he wanted more time for himself.

His form disappeared within the sight of view.

A few hours later...

"Hahahah! Today, I, Megumin, has brought the demise that befalls upon the citizens! Awful ambience lingering in the air, coating the whole town! Trouble was ubiquitous in the community! Muahahaha-"

'It takes over half a day just to repair this armour... haah... my day is wasted.'

'...Ha?'

She shut her mouth and stared at the sky through the window. Yes, indeed, the sun was ready to say its farewell to the world today.

She grasped her head in shock, eyes widened as they keep staring at the sun in the West. She just unintentionally read her companion's thoughts as she relaxing on the couch foolishly. What about her main objective?!

Shooting up from the coach hastily, she stumbled over to Darkness who was intently checking the repaired armour.

Huffing promptly, Megumin asked in a rush.

"Darkness what time it is?!"

"...Uh, let's see, I woke up when the sky's still dark and got home when the sun already on its way to go. Umm... and it takes half a day to complete the repairment for my armour... and-"

She did not have the time for this! Sweeping the sweatdrops on her forehead, she asked a question again.

"Where's Kazuma?! Right now where's he?!"

"I heard from a blabbering villager that a boy was walking through the forest near West, that-"

West? Forest? Her eyes shined brightly, that's the forest she knew so well! A forest where a hill that overlooked an abandoned castle located! A place she often goes with him!

"Thanks!"

Rushing to the outside, she couldn't even bother herself to equipped her staff and her cloak, only wearing a red dress with a brown belt over it. Darkness blankly stared at the opened door in confounds, scrapping her head with her index finger.

"Yeah, you're welcome... I guess-"

"ÕĒÙGH!"

"O-Oi! Aqua! Stop forcing alcohol into your stuffed body!"

Barefooted, she runs through the dirt and grass in the forest using a shortcut she discovered back in the day where she and Kazuma were at urgent, aka need to use the toilet. Coincidentally, the location of the mansion was near the forest, so she could immediately arrive within it.

More the further she goes, the more tired she became. She gradually slowed down as she ran, panting became more noticeable as the time passed. Her dress was in mess, as in the way there were so many branches sticking out in her path.

And finally, a brief moment later, she leaned on a tree to recover her energy. She shifted her head to see what lies before the tree and saw the castle she used to cast Explosion Magic at. But what surprised her was a shadow of someone's back, a figure of him. A person staring at the horizon silently as the breezes constantly passed by, stroking his hair softly.

It's Kazuma.

'...I-'

This! This is her chance! Her feature brightens up conspicuously, observing the figure discreetly, she hides behind the tree she leaned on earlier, intently reading the person's thoughts.

'...Wonder what life will introduce me to in the future?'

...Life? What? She expected him to imagine some bizarre things and what she got was him thinking about life? Raising an eyebrow, she continued her observation of him.

'Or maybe I just needing to be with someone who could understand myself fully?'

"...I do." Whispered barely.

He lowered his head, eyes squinted a few times before bringing out a shard of metal.

She recognized that metal, it was Chunchunmaru! But it looks like it was broken... Sadly. She briefly mourned for the legendary katana.

'Should I fix a katana named by a crazy maniac?'

She wanted to scream out something but knew that she can't, that's the frustrating part! It seems like he wouldn't repair it from the way his expression distorted. She pouted dejectedly.

'Pathetically, it was the only item I have that has been named by a girl other than my mom.'

Really? Her lips curled up barely, her gazes on him were noticeably softer. The boy moved his head upwards and his eyes peacefully stared at the horizon, the warm orange light illuminated a portion of his face. She couldn't believe she said this but he looks kind of attractive sighting him from this perspective.

Smiling with no emotions behind it, suddenly, a drop of tear came out of his eyes. His hand grasped the region where his heart was placed, his left chest.

She doesn't know why, but her heart too clenched a little when she saw the boy who rarely looks apathetic showing such a dull expression. He always shows emotions, even a little. Annoyance, anger, frustration, lust, mischief, anything! But this time, he looks so lifeless. So... death.

'I, I know that I'm a no-good person in so many people eyes, but at least, can I show my real self for a day? Sharing my problems and emotions without getting any mockery? I've been thinking this continuously and I know it's useless, but... N-No, I don't even need it, but a little bit of genuine appreciation for me...? Can I receive that? Please? Someone? God, please?'

For a moment there, he stared straightforwardly at the horizon, lips parted to say something but nothing came out. He shook his head and grasp his head tightly.

'Maybe a pat on the back? That's it, something genuine, something without ulterior motives. Interaction between individuals without any motives, just purely based on wanting to show appreciation. Someone? Please, someone.'

Behind a tree, a girl silently listens to the thought of her party leader, hands on log and back leaned on it, eyes filled with sadness gazed at the ground, focusing solely on his thoughts.

'Maybe I need to be a bad guy so I could openly say my emotions?

She bit her lips, saying the things she really wanted to say to him from the bottom of her heart.

'No, no, that's not Kazuma. The Kazuma I know wouldn't make troubles for no reason, he wouldn't cause unnecessary circumstances.'

'Maybe I need to force myself to have an intimate relationship with a girl?'

'No, the Kazuma I know would be a coward and would turn away from an offer like that.'

'Maybe I need to sacrifices everything for a person so that person would stay and listen to what I had to say?'

'No, the Kazuma I know wouldn't even think about spending even a single bronze Eris coin if it wasn't benefitted him. The Kazuma I know was a spineless guy who even considered abandoning his comrades in the middle of a fight.'

'Maybe I need to have an attractive attitude and appearance?'

'No, the Kazuma I know wouldn't even care about what people said and wouldn't change no matter what. The Kazuma I know isn't a cringey handsome looking guy. The Kazuma I know isn't a person who would care about his looks nor attitudes.'

'Or maybe I need to be someone else so I could find the one?'

Simultaneously, a drop of tear trailing down on both of their faces. One was silent while the other one was uncontrollably sobbing.

'The Kazuma I know was a person who would choose a rational way, not t-the foolish way. He would achieve the goal with such a brilliant idea even I couldn't think of. He was hard on the outside but soft on the inside. He was a spineless coward that even rejected an 'offer' from a voluptuous woman because he was a coward! He was a coward! Running away from her offer just because he didn't like her that way! H-He would consider running away from life after he died even when it was certain that he could be resurrected! H-He...'

She was tired of this, of this 'mask' they equipped for each other. She was tired of seeing a fake appearance of a person who would sacrifice himself for her(even if he could be resurrected). She was tired of seeing him not showing what he's originally felt. She was tired often seeing him showing the current feeling he felt, not the feeling he originally felt. She was tired that she doesn't know what his initial intentions were. She was tired that he thought no one would listen to what he wanted to say.

She was tired that he keeps saying he couldn't share the problems and emotions he hid with anyone else.

'Someone, a person, an individual, a thing, an animal, a monster, a demon, a devil, an angel, a god, an almighty one, please, anything, anyone. Would you listen to what problems I have in life?'

"How about me?!"

She blurted out, sounds cheesy but her heart couldn't handle the pain anymore. The scream startled him, not because someone's scream at him, no, it's because he recognized the owner of the voice.

He turned his head to the source and saw a head sticking behind a tree. What he saw was a face he knew so well.

"M-Megumin?! W-What are you doing here?!"

"...Listening to your heart."

...What?

He looks puzzled, staring at her worriedly.

"Megumin, is your tendency has gotten worse? I know listening to one's heart sounds cool but-"

"I'm not joking. I had listened to your heart. About how you wanted to share the things you carried with someone."

"Oh."

How? Her sudden confession about reading his 'heart' turned him into puzzlement so much he forgets he was actually grieving about his life.

"I care for you!"

He blankly stared at her before tilting his head, smiling lifelessly, his pale face is illuminated by the warm orange lights.

"Ah... what a beautiful dream, did I died falling to the ground from this hill? Or-"

She puffed her flushed cheeks in annoyance, to be told she was within his 'beautiful dream'...

It did somewhat made sense. Her dress was torn and she's barefooted. And with an odd behaviour she never showed before...

She clenching her fists and trying to find some idea to prove that she was real. That 3 months saving is all just for this moment damnit! How could she give it up in the midway?! A scene of a woman tearfully kissing her lover suddenly appeared, catching her off guard.

Does she... does she has to do it? It's not like she likes him that way or anything...

As if the time was slowed down, she stared at the motionless looking guy before her. Many memories unknowingly flash through her head. It's been a year and a half and so many things they have been gone through, right? Killing Demon King's Generals under such odd circumstances and tactics, living together with Aqua and Darkness and living their daily lives. Talking, playing, teasing, insulting, pranking, peeking, insulting, sharing, eating, ditching, planning, screaming, screeching, shrieking, whining, sulking, belittling and insulting, so many things. It is impossible to count them one by one. And all of the things they go through doesn't bear any fruits at all?

A connection between each other, a shared feeling, something worth mentioning between them. They have been going through many hardships, and in the end she couldn't understand even a single certain thing about this person before her, then what do those things mean? Nothing? No, she believed those times aren't wasted on anything.

So she decided, at this moment. She would take immediate action, no more doubts, what-ifs, what that, what this. Nothing more! She will prove that she's here for him.

She doesn't like him that way? Hah! As if! Unlike him who was a coward, she was no such a thing. She is Megumin! A proud Crimson Demon! A magician who stays true in her path! She knew what she wanted!

Plus, he was the only male she has ever gotten close to, excluding her father. He has proven to her many times that he was a man worthy of her. If she wasn't satisfied, then she can go to hell and die. Her life is guaranteed, her Explosion Magic was acknowledged, and she was satisfied and happy with her life. What's more from him to gives her?

He was there when she doubted herself, he was there when she felt like a burden. When he encouraged her to keep improving her Explosion Magic with a soft smile on his face instead of forcing her to learn other spells like others always did, when he accepted her as what she has to offer with a compassionate look on his face. She knew he was the right one.

And now he looks like this? Now, it's her turn.

Tears streaming down her face, smiling as wide as she can for the person in front of her who still looking lost. This person wasn't the person she knew, so she gonna turned him back.

How? She kissed him.

"...What are you doing?"

A heavy voice asked in bafflement, a pair of green eyes staring at a woman on the rooftop of a two-stories house, there's a mix between confusion and concern within them.

"Decorating the house! Today would be the day when we became one! Two souls, an occurrence brought them together and-!!"

A hand grasped hers, stopping her 'monologue', her gazes trailed from the hand to the face of the owner, showing a pair of loving eyes and an amused smile, with many chocolate-coloured bangs covered his forehead, he looks as attractive as the day she married him.

"Let me help."

"...Fine."

It would be faster with him helping anyway. Some neighbours passed by and saw a man and a woman playing and chasing each other around on top of their house's rooftop. They would just shake their head and chuckled a little before continued walking. Seems like this is a normal occurrence for the neighbourhood.

He finally caught her, caging her within him with one of his arms, receiving a beautiful laugh from the woman. They keep laughing and chasing each other around like they were kids.

After a few minutes later, they finally stopped, sitting on the rooftop with legs hanging in the air, eyes gazing on the neighbourhood. It was snowing yesterday and the houses were covered with snow. A snowball was thrown onto the back of his head and a sudden weight 'crashing' onto his back.

"Tou-san! Why didn't you come back?!"

A childish, boyish voice filled their ears, they simultaneously turned around and a boy with bright green eyes and neat raven hair appears within their sight of view.

"Well... I played with your mom..."

"Can I join?!"

"...No."

"...No."

"Awww..."

It was their date! They couldn't let their son ruined it!

The boy dejectedly strides back to the trapdoor. After he's gone, they laughed at each other and holding each others' hands. Looking at the sky with warm eyes.

'If one ever said that they were the luckiest person alive, they clearly never meet the person beside me.'

A pair of crimson eyes secretly glanced at him, she smiled timidly, her complexion turning red. Even after all these years, hearing him complimenting her within his heart always made her heart fluttered.

Oh, did she mention it? The skill isn't gone, but she could only use it on her husband.

'If life is a labyrinth I have to go through, then she would be the one that guided me through it all.'

'The same as you, Anata.'

She always remembered the way her mother called her father lovingly. So she wanted to do it with hers too.

"Oh, how is she? She's okay?"

"Yeah, just receive a letter yesterday, saying she couldn't visit because of some stupid noble things, bla bla bla..."

"Always straightforward, huh? Heh."

"What's there to laugh about? Because of that, you could live such a beautiful life!"

"Hmmm..."

'Beautiful? Calling it Extremely Tremendously Excessively Gorgeous would be correct.'

He, as always, keep flirting with her in his heart. What's up with him?

Of course, he doesn't know this ability of hers.

"Tou-san! Kaa-san! Stop flirting like a newlywed couple and make some food! I am hungry!"

"Such a sharp remark you said there, Kid!"

"Hah! Who's the one that taught me it so well?!"

"Sharp mouth!"

And he taught him something stupid again, but she wouldn't mind. It was a thing that made her life isn't as dull as she thought it would be. Considering she has become a housewife, listening to sharp remarks back and forth between father and son is always amusing to watch.

They quit becoming Adventurers altogether after they defeat the Demon King, with the pile of money they have within their pocket and living guaranteed by the king himself, what's the reason they had to keep their profession?

The mansion was donated for homeless people, the house was too big anyway. So they moved to a nice neighbourhood within the Capital and living peacefully ever since.

Plus, living peacefully like this isn't as bad as she imagined, considering that she loved Explosion Magic. After marrying him, she realized that her love for him exceeding even her love for it. Of course, sometimes she would ask him to take a trip for old time sake. And then when they were done, he would carry her as he did back then. Reminding them of their youths.

It always brought a smile to her face.

"Megu, let's go inside, anymore of this kid's sharp remarks and I'd slap his ass."

"Like you did to Mo-!"

"That's it kiddo! You have crossed the line!"

They decided that it would be good to let their son live a peaceful life. Without crazy adventures, without immense danger and such. But if the time comes when threats loomed over the world, they would try their best to train him.

But neither of them expect it. A quiet ruckus could be heard from their house and she just merely smiled.

'Huh, maybe slapping...'

Sometimes, his pervert tendency would surface, and she would be there to receive it. She would receive it gladly, and maybe blissfully.

"AAAH! NO! I'M SORRY!"

A certain goddess decided it was time for her to go, although she suspected she was watching them from above. As sometimes a bottle of alcohol would appear before their threshold with a goofy looking drawing sticking onto it.

She entered the house and saw a comically crying looking son and a smug father.

"Ready for the food?"

"Always!"

The man of her life merely nodded at her, a smile always on his face.

'A world? A power? A harem? Nope. If I ever got offered wishes like those for my current life, I wouldn't even think a second before hugging my beloved wife.'

It's been 15 years, and he didn't change a single bit.

'Your thoughts would be reached to me, and our heart would be never apart.'

She vowed when it was their wedding day. It was the best day of her life. Comparable to when he was born.

This man has taught her a lot. But introducing this life to her couldn't be compared to anything. Except maybe love.

Sometimes she invaded his privacy a little, but eh, it was the reason they got together. So it wouldn't hurt, right?

Yes, variousness in words and the flow of the sentences, and grammar. I keep practising on those.

And if you actually read it to this point, thx! It was such a half-baked thing though. So...
