Part 11

The box of Gavrok was in their hands, Wesley got the last ingredient while Angel kept a watch out. That was when Angel's phone rang with an unknown number flashed on his screen, answering the call he heard the voice of the Mayor demanding the box otherwise... That was when the souled vampire lost his temper he promised Mayor Wilkins if anything happened to Xan Harris he would kill him slowly.

"Now, now none of that. I only want what's rightfully mine, how about an exchange of sorts. The girl for the box, I can't say fairer than that can I."

Wesley was too focused on the job at hand and not the conversation, preparing the ingredients when Angel grabbed the box and told him there was a change of plan. Wesley knew and said they had to continue with the destroying of the box, that was when Angel snapped as he grabbed the glass pewter and threw it against the wall. "We're going back. Now," growled Angel and slammed the man against the wall and picked up the box ignoring Wesley's protests. Trying to stop the vampire he ran after him but he was too late as Angel sped off towards Sunnydale to save the girl he couldn't deny still loved, running back to his motel room Wesley made a quick call to Giles and told him that Angel had taken the box.

Giles couldn't believe that this was happening, they had a backup plan as Faith and Buffy were going to rescue Xan if she was going to be used as bait to find out who was the Mayor's spy. Angel knew this and yet Angel didn't think when it came to Harris, the only one who had Angel's personal cell phone number was Buffy and Giles didn't want to believe it.

Faith was pacing the room as Cordelia was biting her nails worried over the girl, they might not be dating anymore but she still in some way loved Xan as she was her first love. Faith, on the other hand, wanted Buffy's blood, when she found out that Harris was kidnapped that she felt a part of her was ripped out and if anything bad happened to the girl she will kill the blonde Slayer.

Ten minutes had passed since Buffy came into the Library badly beaten and had a dislocated shoulder, she said she had been attacked by a group of demons and for some reason stolen her phone. Looking around she couldn't see Xan and wondered where she was as she was supposed to help with research, Giles silent prayer to the higher being that Faith wouldn't attack was unanswered as the dark-haired Slayer grabbed Buffy and slammed her against the wall with a sharp knife against her throat. "If the Mayor hurts Xan I'll gladly send you to hell."

Giles was ready to intervene when Angel barged in with the box under his arm, when he saw Faith with a knife to Buffy's throat he knew who to blame, but right now they needed to save Xan. Angel made the call as he told Wilkins to meet him in the Gym with his mate, everyone was nervous as Angelus was too close to the surface as he offered a trade- the box for his girl.

Finally agreeing Mayor Wilkins showed up at the school with Police Security as the Mayor acted as if he was promoting his next election, looking around Angel saw Xan was with them and was ready to give over the box for the girl- Xan couldn't believe this idiot and only hoped the back-up plan worked. While Angel drove back to Sunnydale with what he thought was the Box of Gavrok turned out to be a replica and Wesley had already destroyed the box.

Sliding the box over the Gym floor Angel demanded his girl otherwise he will snap his neck and kill those two for being involved, the police officers said nothing as they stepped away and let the girl go as one of the officers grabbed the box and gave it to the Mayor. As soon as the box was in Wilkin's hands they left the school, Xan pulled herself away from Angel who was standing close to her.

When Xan moved away from her rapist, Faith ran towards the girl and hugged her relieved she was all right. "I just want to go home, Cordy can we leave now. Please." Both girls left as Giles turned to ask Buffy who attacked her and how many, "there were several vampires and two demons and all I can say is ew those tusks with green skin."

Giles wanted to believe his Slayer, but it didn't look good for her as he asked if there was anything that was said. Buffy thought back to the fight as she remembered that one of the vampires mention a new master who had come back for what is his, Giles knew that the new master would show themselves soon enough but they had to wait if their plan worked.

A few days later reports came out that Richard Wilkins III had died of a stroke in his office, there were no more information but a statement from the Duty Mayor Allan Finch found Wilkins at his desk signing a document to regenerate Greenfield Park. In his honour, the town of Sunnydale would issue a plaque and rename the park as the Wilkin's Memorial Garden.

Weeks had past and the Scoobies didn't know who the Master of Sunnydale was and what he or she wanted, Angel knew and he was going to drive him out before he got his grubby hands on Xan. Faith was more protective over Xan Harris and didn't let her out of her sight, but yet again trouble hit Xan Harris' fan when Amy was using spells to make the teacher forget she had homework or other charms. Xan just couldn't let Amy continue the same path as Willow did and found her in one of the Science Classes, she was ready to get the ingredients ready when Xan entered the room and slammed the door making enough noise to get people's attention.

Amy didn't understand why Xan cared so much, all she was doing was having a little fun as it wasn't hurting anyone. Xan gave Amy some home truths to what Willow had done, this included the way Willow used magic on her now ex-girlfriend. The red-haired witch put several spells on her own friend to make Xan Heterosexual, that was one of the main reasons that she lost her virginity with Spike when she was possessed by the Hyena Queen's spirit. Amy Madison didn't want to listen to Alexandra Harris as she knew what she was doing- Xan having had enough as she brought out her big guns.

"Have you ever had your mind altered to suit someone else, I have and by my own best friend who didn't mind me being gay but not when it came to who I fell in love with. Tell me Amy, have you had someone control you like a wind-up doll that put you in a situation that led you to be beaten, tortured and raped as well as sodomised by your best friend's boyfriend."

Amy was whispering a spell to make Xan forget, but before the witch could utter another word she stopped in her tracks and coming out of the shadows with a blindfolded China Doll was a dark-haired woman with a victorian style white dress. There was something otherworldly and sinister about this woman as gracefully walked towards her, Xan screamed at the sandy-haired girl to run and look for Buffy and Faith.

"Poor little match girl, following her mommy and getting her fingers burnt. those stinging fingers not hurt enough, looks like match girl has to pay the piper and listen to those sweet sounds."

Amy was frightened and confused, she has frozen in a trance state as Xan pleaded with Amy to leave as Drusilla raised her hands to Amy's temples making the girl scream. That was when Xan attacked Drusilla, but the vampire expected the attack grabbed a nearby microscope and swung it knocking the brunette to the ground unconscious with a small pool of blood surrounded her head. As soon as Amy Madison was screaming from the brief visions in her head Drusilla carefully picked up Xan and took her to the Warehouse where her sweet Spike was waiting for his Sire's gift.

Angel was walking through the hall of Sunnydale High when he heard a scream coming towards the Science Classroom, as he got closer he smelt blood. Xan's blood. Barging into the room he saw a sandy-haired girl on her knees clutching her head in agony, once he entered the classroom he smelt his Childe's scent and knew she had been here. The girl's scream was getting on his last nerve and pinched a nerve in the girl's neck to knock her unconscious and took her to Giles before heading out looking for Xan before Dru and Spike did anything to his girl.

Drusilla looked at the girl who was sleeping on Spike's bed, she had cleaned the wound by licking the wound closed and finding Xan's blood so sweet- it was no wonder why this girl was such a demon magnet. Once the cut was healed Drusilla stripped the girl off her clothes and replaced it with one of her pretty dresses of a dark rich red that suited her dark hair and eyes, once the girl was dressed Drusilla loosened Xan hair and began brushing it a hundred times just like her mommy taught her. Once finished Dru chained Xan to the bed while she went looking for her drunken childe.

It didn't take long for Dru to find Spike feeding on a curvy brunette as he was balls deep inside the girl moaning a name of the Bad Kitten that had stolen her Poet's heart, she loved Spike but not the way she loved her daddy, Spike was demon enough for her anymore and found a better demon that would satisfy her needs till Angelus came back.

Once Spike finished with the girl after finishing himself inside her, that moment of released pleasure turned to anger when his afterglow turned to ashes and his illusions of making love to his Kitten evaporated like snowflakes in the hot sun. In a fit of anger, Spike covered the girl's mouth before she could scream and viciously drained the girl of her blood before ripping her head off completely. Tucking himself back into his jeans and zipped up just as Dru made her presence known giggling at the carnage that her Spikey had done, but it wasn't the manic giggling that caught his attention but that of the sweet scent of Alexandra. Spike features shifted to his demon as he demanded what his Dark Plum had done to his girl.

"Be calm my dear Spikey, I want to be a good girl and got her baby a little kitten that will crawl and bite just for you."

Spike wasn't in the mood for Dru's riddles, but soon stopped when he realised that Dru was giving him Brood Boy's girl. Before getting into a drunken stupor he heard that the PTB had taken away the claim from Xan making her now free from the bond that was forced on her, this time he wasn't going to waste time sticking around to kill the blonde pain in the ass Slayer. If he was going to turn Xan then he better do it away from Sunnydale so the bloody pouf couldn't find them. By the time he caught up to them, it would be too late as Xan would be his childe.

With a grin, Spike left for the Warehouse while Dru kept Angel and the two Slayers busy, entering the Warehouse and sleeping on the bed was Xan sleeping soundly chained to the bedpost. The bleach-haired vampire caressed the girl's warm cheek and remembering those same lips against his skin when they slept together, he didn't have to imagine what his new Childe would be like as he had seen Xan in action when she was possessed and found her unearthly beautiful in the viciousness of her kills. Spike could imagine a century or two with this young woman by his side, hunting and basking in their love by the body to body and demon to demon.

There was no time for him to turn Xan right away as his Grand-Sire was looking frantically for the girl himself, Angelus might have taken Xan from him but he wasn't going to let the same mistake again. Feeling that Angel was near and was getting closer to the Warehouse, Spike broke the chain and picked up his precious cargo breathing in her scent as her head rested on his shoulder. Spike smirked as he raced outside just as Angel and Faith stormed inside, Angel's demon was close to the surface and the dark-haired Slayer looked ready to kill when they saw that Spike was holding Xan running out to his car.

Just as Spike was about three metres to his DeSoto when he heard a yelp from Xan, stopping Spike looked down and in the girl's shoulder was a crossbow bolt. Knowing that the bolt didn't hit any major organs, but what concerned him was the scent of the poison that was now running through the girl's veins. Looking over to one of the buildings he spotted the blonde laughing thinking she had poisoned Spike and Drusilla not knowing she had sentenced her friend to death.

Buffy Summers was in Angel's spare room tied down in chains waiting for the Watchers to collect her, Angel and Spike were disgusted with how Giles was making excuses for his Slayer after everything that she had done. That was when Faith lost it as she roared at the man who was supporting a girl who betrayed them to the Mayor just because Angel wasn't in love with her. Giles didn't say anything as he knew that what Faith said was true, but he couldn't let Buffy die as he had seen how the Watchers Council deposed rogue Slayers. He had seen how they drugged and brainwash the Slayers to insanity before testing and slowly kill them, as much as he knew how guilty Buffy was Giles couldn't let Buffy die in that fashion.

Wesley Wyndham Price was working none stop to find the answer to save his friend with the help of Spike as Giles was trying to keep Faith away from the room that held Buffy, with all the bickering Angel had enough of Faith who wanted to rip Buffy to pieces. Grabbing Faith by the back of her shirt threw across the room with a vicious snarl on his face, "I want more than anything to go in that room and torture that bitch till she begs me to kill her. Right now Giles is needed to help look for the cure for my Xan, till then either patrol and take your frustrations outside or calm down and help Jenny with Amy."

Right at this moment, Faith didn't want to be too far away from Xan and reluctantly agreed, storming off mumbling what she would like to do to Buffy. Giles sighed with relief taking off his glasses to clean them before putting them back on, while Giles was now making himself useful Angel headed towards Giles' bedroom where Cordelia was by Xan's side cooling her brow and doing everything she could to soothe the girl's pain. It was when Xan began screaming in her hallucinations that Cordelia Chase started to sob, needing to have a breather and to calm herself as Xan didn't need to worry over her tears.

As the Scoobies were looking for any clues Angel entered Xan's room, with her hazy mind she thought that Cordelia was still with her as she grabbed her ex-girlfriend's hand and brought it to her lips kissing inside of her palm.

"I know I... I thought that I never get to see you again if y..you don't find a cure in time please know Cordy that you're the love of my life."

Knowing that this was his only chance Angel leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to Xan's lips, holding back his anguish as he whispered back that he loved her too. Watching in despair that Xan's breathing was slowing down, things were looking bleak when Spike stormed in followed by Faith who had a nasty bite to her neck looking pale from the blood loss.

"Spike found the cure, we need the blood of a Slayer and since Buffy kindly offered a donation including me. Spike drank my blood as well as Slutty's and all Spike needs to do is feed the blood to Xan."

Faith pulled out Giles' wallet and grabbed all the money out of it, putting the cash into Angel's hand told him to get as much human blood he could from Willie's for Spike to recover. Faith was still angry with Giles when she caught him trying to hide a book from everyone's sights, grabbing the book Faith gave it to Wesley who happily thanked the girl for finding the solution- with both Slayers giving their blood Spike went to Xan's side and pulled her into his arms.

Biting into his wrist Spike gave his blood to Xan sighing with relief that the girl was finally drinking, getting weak Spike gave his all till he was pulled back by Wesley who had a mug of cows blood to keep him going till Angel came back.

An hour later Angel entered the room with a cooler of human blood for Spike, as a gesture Angel even opened a vein for his Grand-Childe as his way of saying thank you. As the vampires watched Xan sleeping with both Faith and Cordy sleeping by her side, they knew in their hearts that Xan would never love them as much as she loved the girls sleeping close to her. Angel decided it would be best if he left for Los Angeles for a new start and get his redemption.

Spike watching the girls sleeping and like Angel knew that there wasn't any room for him in Xan's heart, he'll always remember that he had been Xan's first lover and took her virginity- at that one moment Spike felt loved and was someone's only no matter how brief it was. As Xan Harris recovered Spike left Sunnydale as Dru was upset that she wouldn't have her kitten with her, she was ready to claim her new pet when she was stopped by her bad daddy who demanded her to leave Xan alone and that was an order. Drusilla playfully smiled thinking that Angel was playing till she saw the look he gave her that was the same one she got when she was tortured. Nervously she agreed and went on her way back to Brazil to her Chaos Demon named Brian.

Taking his last glimpse of the love he would never have Angel turned away into the shadows to his new adventure, knowing one day he would be worthy of the girl.
