AN: Chapter is here! Like always I hope you like it. And without further ado let's begin this one.
-xXx-
"Well I can offer you a deal. You explain what all of you can do and each of you can ask me one specific question." I said in my best attempt at a brazilian accent. The responses to my accent were annoyed and confused glances. No idea why, it's great after all! We all sat at one of the tables at the front of the ship, near the bar where I had my conversation with Theodosia. I was drinking a cola with ice/ Team TMRWs leader sipped orange juice through a straw, of course she would. Rojo had a simple iced tea. Wan chose sparkling water. Maroon had a pina colada, he was the only one that had an alcoholic drink.
"Okay? We can do that. You already know mine." Mused Theodosia, crossing her arms and putting her legs on the table. Wan wasn't a fan of this so he ushered them away.
"Well I guess I can start. I use Diatrypo, a sniper that can transform into a lance or simply add a bayonet. My semblance is futurepeek. I can see five seconds into the future. Useful for any dangerous situation, dodging, ambushes and hitting targets with Diatrypo. It is a precision based weapon in all forms after all." Said Maroon. Looking quite filled with pride when talking about the difficulty of using his weapon. Quite a good semblance to be perfectly honest. I'm almost jealous. Almost.
"I went with a more… bombastic approach. My Rayo is a rocket launcher that unfolds into a tower shield. My semblance is called thorn. I reflect a small portion of damage I take onto my enemy." Explained Rojo, patting the weapon placed on her back. The ability isn't as good but it's useful in a team nonetheless. Really support-y, more than I'd expect from her personality.
"Pugotsu is my warhammer. I filled it with dust for added damage and utility. As for my semblance, Mark. It allows me to choose a
person, which requires physical contact, I can then see them through walls and have a feeling about where they are, like a compass." Wan has a… creepy semblance. Don't get me wrong, it's useful. I just feel like I could go to jail for using it. And the name leaves room for puns only I would get. But when has that stopped me?
"Ah mine is named Arokoa and botany respectively. Now for the question. What is your semblance?" She questioned. I just burst into laughter.
"Why are you laughing?" Asked Theodosia smacking me on the arm.
"It's just that I don't have one!" I barely said, still laughing.
"What? Do you have an aura?" Maroon buddy, you just made my day with that question. My laugh grows louder, almost maniacal.
"No!" This is way too funny to me. I think as I grab the sides of my stomach.
"Bullshit. How do you summon those then?" Rojo demanded. I am about to fucking break them.
"Magic~" I sing out. They are all visibly angry because of that. From confusion to rage. I love it.
"Oh for the love of oum! What's magic then?" Good question Wan. Really good in fact.
"A confusing, mildly infinite source of bullshit. A few people can use it. Though mine is the best, just like me." They all look dumbfounded. Great.
"That's stupid. Your power is stupid." Theodosia exclaimed. You are right. In every aspect.
"Yup." I popped the p to maximise annoyance.
"We are about to arrive at Solitas and dock in the city of Seph."
"Finally! I was starting to get sea sick." I said partially truthfully. I was more bored than anything else. Team TMRW got up from the table and left towards their room still giving me anger filled glares.
"Hercules let's go grab our things." I told the bear, which responded by looking at me in a weird way. Like I was dumb or something...
"Oh right we don't have any. I'm stupid." My companion just nodded and laughed. Prick.
"Well let's look over the voidborn then." This yielded a mixed response. He seemed kinda happy but also a bit spooked. Not surprising to be fair, they are tentacle monsters, at least some of them are. Also Vel'koz is just creepy. With that thought we left to get everyone ready to leave no matter how awkward it might be.
-xXx-
"Ah void caller it is great to see you, judging based on the announcement we will soon depart this... vehicle?" Asked one of the vel'koz's that noticed our presence. That voice still sends shivers down my spine, truly horrifying.
"Yes we will wait for the passengers to leave so they don't panic when they notice you." Thank god I summoned them after everyone went to hide. The captain offered me a place in the storage space where I could leave them. I don't know how the fuck I can actually travel with them. Actually, can I send them back? I couldn't do so with the voidlings but maybe these can. Please work.
"Is it possible to return you to the void for the time being? It would be really hard to explain you to the people without impairing my goals." I question trying to sound as polite as possible.
"It is an option void caller, we understand your concerns and will come to your aid once again shall you need us." A big purple swirling portal opened and all of the voidborn walked through it without hesitation, after the last one it closed. Well they are reasonable at least. That takes care of my main problem. Now I suppose I need to just go onto the upper level again and prepare to leave.
-xXx-
Solitas sweet Solitas here I come! I stand on the nose of the ship taking in the view of the port town we're about to arrive at. I have my arms spread out in a cross shape behind me standing Hercules.
"You're really weird. You know that right?" Startled me Theodosia in a condescending tone. I quickly turned around and leaned on the rail trying to look cool in my panic.
"No, I'm cool." I say further improving my pose.
"Whatever you say. My team is grabbing their stuff so I decided to look at the town, but you interrupt that plan with your.. youness." She deadpanned.
"I would consider myself a better alternative. Right, Hercules?" I asked my companion hoping for solace. The bear buried his face in his hand shaking his head in disapproval. Theodosia just laughed at the sight.
"What are you doing with that asshole again Theo?" Questioned a newcomer. She was a tall and well built hispanic woman with a black afro hairstyle and a red armoured jumpsuit. Rojo.
"I wanted to look at our destination from the nose of the ship but he was sadly already here." Explained Theodosia, trying to deny any want to talk to me.
"Well the rest are gonna get here soon so I suggest you wrap it up and get ready to go on land, lovebirds." She mocked with a light giggle.
"Rojo!" Reprimanded an angered Theodosia.
-xXx-
The town was quite pretty. Brick buildings with warm light coming out of the windows. The walkways coated lightly in snow while everything else was covered with a much bigger amount. It's actually good that my race prevents me from being hurt by the cold. Well, time to find a place to sleep. I'll head off towards Atlas early in the morning. I could get something to eat first. I don't really feel hunger because of my race but the act is nice for the novelty of it.
The first restaurant I saw on my walk through town looked like a pizza place. It was called DiGiorno. Weird name but whatever. I walked inside and it felt like an italian interior style. It was quite small with bricks on the wall. I and Hercules sat down near one of the small tables and looked at the menu. He nearly didn't fit on the chair but surprisingly it was sturdy enough to hold him.
I picked a White pizza which had the obvious tomato sauce, garlic, ricotta and mozzarella cheese. Hercules pointed his claw at a Meat lovers pizza which had tomato sauce, ham, pepperoni, bacon, sausage and meatballs. Fits him so I can't be surprised. What surprised me was the fact he pointed to a cappuccino as his drink option. I chose sparkling water.
Having chosen our meals I rose my hand to signal for a waiter to arrive. I saw a man dressed in red and black tiger striped leather pants, a blue crop top turtleneck sweater with a white net pattern on it and boots. The most unique article of clothing is his headgear. It entirely hid his hair, it was a red colour with the same white pattern as the sweater and a big downwards blue arrow on the forehead.
"What is your order?" He asked in an italian accent.
"We'd like one white and one meat lovers pizza as well as a cappuccino and sparkling water." I listed. The waiter visibly cringed when I stopped.
"Anything else?" He asked with a weird hope.
"No? I think that's it." I reinforced my previous statement.
"Why do people here love the number four so much! Four hunters in a team, four meals a day, four kingdoms, four inhabited continents, four things from the menu! Don't they know it's an awful number?" He despaired as he left towards the kitchen. Weird guy, don't know what's up with him. After he disappeared I heard what I think was a faint singing. We waited for what felt like only a minute when we heard an argument in the kitchen.
"I refuse to carry four things." I heard a familiar voice object.
"Just do it Mista." A new voice with a stronger italian accent called out.
"NO!"
"FOR FUCKS SAKE MISTA! I'LL CALL GIORNO LATER! Gyro can you go serve it?" A new american accent joined the conversation. A moment later someone different stepped out of the kitchen door, holding two pizzas and our drinks on two metal balls. How is that possible? Probably a semblance thing.
"Pizza mozzarella, pizza mozzarella, rella rella rella. Pizza gorgonzola, pizza gorgonzola, zola zola zola." The man sang. He had long blond hair, a wide brimmed hat, a weird patchy beard, an apron and I could see he had the phrase: Go Go Zeppeli engraved into his teeth which he showed off with a wide smile.
"Here's your order. Enjoy your meal." He politely said as the food slided of the steel balls.
"Thank you." I managed to stop myself from saying you too. Hercules picked up the knife and fork and began cutting off and eating pieces of his meal. I eat my pizza like a normal person with my hands, unlike mr. fancy pants. After finishing he grabbed the comically small in comparison to him cappuccino cup lifting his little finger in a show of proper manners. By the time I finished there was no water left.
"Johnny go get the payment and tell them to recommend the restaurant to others." Called out the one I assumed was the chef.
"Go tell them yourself." Responded Johnny I guessed. The blond haired man came back and took out payment.
"Please recommend our restaurant to others and I hope you had a good meal." He said. That entire experience was weird.
I managed to find a cheap hotel. It's not five star standards but it's good enough for me. And affordable. The conversation with the receptionist was quite awkward though.
-xXx-
"I'd like a room for two." I said to the receptionist who looked deep in thought while filling out paperwork.
"Okay, for how lon-" She stopped as she looked up and saw Hercules. Why are they always so afraid?
"One night." I answer ignoring her horrified glance directed at Hercules.
"O-okay, and your names?" She asked, recovering from the initial shock.
"John Smith and Hercules C. Borealis." I told her, looking over the desk to see if she spelled it correctly.
"The third door on the right that way, here is the keycard." She pointed at a hallway and handed over the slim piece of cardboard.
Giving her one last glance I started heading over to where our room is supposed to be. The inside was cosy and small with a wooden desk and two beds. I collapsed onto the bed and began drifting away into sleep.
-xXx-
Kayn barely managed to get out of bed after how bad his night of sleep was. He rubbed his eyes then got dressed.
"Oh shit master Zed wanted to talk to me today!" He exclaimed after his brain went back to normal function from the sleepy one. Speeding up putting on he's clothes he looked at the wall he left Rhaast against last night only to see nothing.
After a brief moment of panic he made a mess of his room looking for the scythe. Threw out all of his equipment onto the floor hoping to find it somewhere in the cabinets or the pile of clothes and supplies. It was nowhere to be found.
"Kayn are you awake?" He heard his master's voice call out from outside the tent.
"Yes I was about to go look for you actually." He nervously answered as he left his tent.
"Great. I wanted to talk to you about… Wait. Where is the darkin?" Zed asked, abandoning his previous statement.
"Well you see… it disappeared." Kayn responded looking at the floor.
"You lost it!?"
-xXx-
And that's where I woke up. Huh not sure what that was about but it's about time we headed out.
"Wake up Hercules." I decided to order, afraid of what the bear would do if I poked it awake.
I left the room with my companion following me as I walked up to the reception where the same person from yesterday was sitting. I handed payment over to her and in return I received a weird look at my arm. I guess without the shock of Hercules it is something weird and easy to spot.
We left the building and headed in the direction a sign pointed was west. In the distance was a gate with a familiar group of people approaching it. I sped up my walk into a run and the sound of thumps behind me signaled Hercules did the same.
"Hey!" I called out as I closed the distance between us. Wan turned around and gave me a small wave. Rojo poked Theodosia with her elbow and whispered something. This resulted in Theodosia hitting her shoulder and Maroon erupting into laughter.
"You know running with a giant bear behind you looks like he's chasing you. And I hopefully don't need to explain why that could cause panic in the city?" Wan lectured me when I was next to them. He's right. I kinda messed up there.
"Why are you always chasing us?" Questioned an annoyed Theodosia. Good question.
"Well I'm headed to Atlas and I thought it would be creepy if I just walked behind you. Like I was spying on you or something." I explained, which resulted in a nod from Wan.
"What a coincidence! We were just going there ourselves. So I guess we will be travelling together?" Rojo said, poking Theodosia again, to her annoyance.
"Fine!" Theodosia exclaimed as she turned back around and started walking towards the gate again. The rest of the team laughs at that and does the same, following their leader. Me and Hercules tailing closely behind them.
