Day 36
It was a day off for me today and after I attuned my hearthstone to Camp Taurajo I hopped on a wyvern heading straight for Orgrimmar. Well maybe not straight considering the wyvern followed a preset flight path over the Crossroads and past some other familiar landmark but it didn't actually take me long to arrive. I really had to restrain myself from spitting on some goblins we flew over though, didn't need to give them an excuse to start shooting at travelers.
The pool in the Valley of Spirits was lovely and I really wanted to introduce whatever moron had the idea to give it to goblins to my axe. Why not shove them up on the cliffs or down with the warlocks where they wouldn't bother us? Well.. okay, I can see several reasons why both of those options are kind of bad, like earthquakes and landslides, but shoving the trolls around like that is just an asshole move. Filthy goblins and ugly meathead orcs.
The Sky Tower smelled like beasts and sweat like everything else always does but I didn't stay long. One short trip to the auction house for appraisal and listings and I was on my way to enjoy my day. I did make a pit stop to visit Shimra and Trak'gen before I could forget to and they were pretty astonished when they saw me. All that hard work did the muscles good I suppose, and my pauldrons are pretty massive I must say.
I took a trip to the barbershop after that and though the goblin wouldn't reveal his secrets, he did give me a decent shave and cropped hair cut while also turning it fiery red. He claims it is permanent until another barber changes the color so I guess I'll eventually see if he's telling the truth. At least my beard is now even and rather good looking if I do say so myself. I was severely tempted to go for a green coloring but for now the red will do.
Though the urge to visit Grommash Hold and see Warchief Thrall was strong something told me to stay away. The Drag was at least as shady as ever (ha!) and after I did some minor supply shopping, I always need more parchment after all, I found myself some lunch and decided to relax. I'm pretty sure there isn't a single place an orc can relax quite like Orgrimmar on this planet, considering you can fall off Thunder Bluff, the Undercity is dangerous for the living, and Silvermoon is fighting off the undead and trying to rebuild.
Once I felt I had been sufficiently lazy I wandered back into the Valley of Strength to check on my auctions. Business was good today it seemed and most of my listings had been purchased already so I took my earnings and set off for the Valley of Honor to find myself some new gear. Leather isn't nearly as annoying as hot metal during a day in the Barrens but protection can't be overlooked in this troubled world.
The Valley of Honor contained a decent sized lake that I spotted several children playing around as well as a lot of the more military inclined residents of the city. I wonder if the orcs were aware of their influence of the orphans of the city joining the military but considering how honorable they all find it I doubt they would care. Well, maybe the Matron would but who knows, right? It took me a bit to remember where the Burning Anvil was but once I found it I had no hesitation towards their products. Everyone knows Saru Steelfury is one hell of a smith and only keeps skilled apprentices and blacksmiths around him.
I blew almost the entirety of my money once again but this time I had something awesome to show for it. I decided I liked Sorek's style and bought a chestplate, legs, and boots since I couldn't afford to buy the whole set yet without going broke. My new armor is going to take some getting used to but I felt far more secure and now Nyx can't try to eat my boots! I think Saru Steelfury might've been a little upset that I was flirting with his daughter Tumi but she started it, honestly.
Sorek was unfortunately too busy training more warriors though he did give me an approving nod when he saw my gear so I felt pretty good. Seeing as the auction house would mail my profits to me I decided to try hearthing for the first time. The swirling vortex of light I went through didn't agree with my stomach and when I landed I had to take several deep breaths to control myself. Byula, the innkeeper, gave me a glass of water while hiding his laughter. I'll remember that, buddy.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that Nyx caught my scent after I'd barely left the building but she bounded on up to me and proceeded to get very interested in sniffing my new boots. I gave her a stern warning not to try to pee on them before scooping her up and heading back to my lodging while giving her some scratches. My little angel soaked up the attention with all the dignity and grace a puppy could manage, before trying to gnaw on my fingers since she no longer had a soft target of boots.
Ok Journal, I'm off to test my mobility in this armor with exercise. Here is to hoping nothing pinches while I run or stretch beyond what the armorers had me test.

AN: To the reviewer Apg66: In game terms he is still a warrior. Before Cata warriors could use bows and guns while hunters had melee weapons as well as a ranged weapon, good ol' Raptor Strike. Regarding Nyx, she is a combat mount like all proper orcs should have.
