Chapter 4

The next morning Olivia, Trevor, Elizabeth, and Alex all were on a flight to Atlanta. Pippa Cox gave them the name of the social worker that would meet them at the airport. They sat and waited for Trevor to grab everyone's bags. Alex saw an opening, "Liv, I need to tell you something." Olivia turned around, "What's wrong?"

Alex wasn't sure how she would take the news. "I know everything is crazy and your life is being turned upside down, but I'm dating…" Olivia laughed, "Fin." Alex smiled, "But how did you know? Olivia laughed, "I'm your best friend and a detective. I see the winks, touches, and looks. It is nice to hear you're dating, not just screwing."

Alex hit her, "How long have you known?" She smiled, "Long enough." Alex hugged her, "Good now since I have to listen to how big Trevor is, you get to hear about Fin." Olivia rolled her eyes, "Oh God!"

They walked out and saw a woman holding a sign that said Olivia. "Hi I'm Olivia. Are you Kim Greylek?" She was tall, young, and blonde. "I am. It's very nice to meet Olivia. We're going to drop off your things at the hotel and head to the hospital."

They climbed into the van, "Wait, hospital? They told me she was fine." Kim turned, "She is doing great. My wife is her doctor. Her name is Gillian Hardwicke and she helped keep her for observation. When I heard she had you, I wanted to keep her out of a foster home. I figured she'd been through enough." Olivia smiled, "Thank you."

They dropped off things and headed to the hospital. "How much does she know?" Kim explained, "She knows you are her older sister and you have the same mom. She also knows you had no clue about her. Oh and she knows she is moving to New York."

Kim introduced Olivia to her wife, the doctor. "She's quiet when you first meet her, but she should warm up. She mostly has minor bruising. We actually took the stitches out on her head and replaced it with a strip." They walked in and Olivia saw a little girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. She looked so small sitting in the big hospital bed. Her gown had cute little brown teddy bears on it.

Kim and Gillian walked over first and Olivia quickly followed. "Amanda, this is your sister. Her name is Olivia." Amanda was cute when she peeked around Kim and Dr. Hardwicke. "Hi." Olivia moved over to the bed, she was terrified but didn't want Amanda to sense it. She sat down, "Hi Amanda."

Amanda twisted her hands in her lap. "Are you really my sister?" Olivia giggled thinking Amanda was looking at the difference between them. "I am and I am so happy to meet you." Amanda reached up on Olivia's shoulder and touched her hair. "You're pretty!" Olivia smiled, "You're prettier!"

Amanda looked at Kim and Dr. Hardwicke, "They said you were taking me to a new place and you were going to take care of me." Olivia wasn't sure if she was happy or sad. "I am going to take care of you. I live in New York with my husband Trevor. I'm a police officer and he's a lawyer. He can't wait to meet you."

Amanda looked surprised, "He wants me too." Olivia smiled, "He does. I even have my best friend and…" Olivia stopped because she didn't want to say Elizabeth was their mother's best friend. "A family friend is here and they all want to meet you." Amanda sat up on her knees, "Can I hug you?" Olivia smiled, "Of course. I love hugs."

Amanda jumped into Olivia's arms and hugged her tight. Olivia hugged her back and realized even though she was 8, she seemed smaller. "Mommy didn't hug me. You're nicer than her." That hurt Olivia's heart to hear that. Amanda yawned and Dr. Hardwicke asked her to lay back, "Remember we talked about you getting rest."

Amanda started breathing harder and had big tears in her eyes. Olivia calmed her, "Hey it's ok. Naps are good." Amanda wiped her eyes, "Can you lay with me?" Olivia laid on the bed and held her sister in her arms. She rocked her and brushed her hair until she fell asleep. "Kim and Dr. Hardwicke explained, "She has nightmares. This isn't going to be easy, but she's definitely adjusting well to you.

Trevor, Alex, and Elizabeth came in while she was sleeping. "She's beautiful Liv!" Trevor smiled, "You're a mom." Liv narrowed her eyes at him, knowing they weren't telling anyone yet. Elizabeth looked at her, "She looks like Serena."

They all took a seat and lunch was brought in. "Hey sleepyhead." Olivia kissed her forehead and Amanda opened her eyes. Amanda gasped and blinked those blue eyes quickly, "Hey, it's ok. Did you forget I was here?" Amanda stretched, "It's not a dream?" Olivia shook her head, "Do you want to eat and meet your family?" Amanda looked at the people in the room. She whispered in Olivia's ear, "Why are they my family?" Olivia thought she was cute, "Because they're my family, so it makes them yours too."

Olivia set up her lunch tray and introduced everyone. "That's Trevor, he's my husband. That's Alex, my best friend. They are lawyers together." Amanda whispered again, "Can I hug them too?" Olivia smiled, "Yes, but you know it's not polite to keep whispering right? You can say it out loud." Amanda kissed Olivia's cheek and hopped out of bed to hug Alex and Trevor. Then came back to Olivia.

"Here, take a bite." Amanda bit into her burger and took a sip of juice. "Who's she?" Amanda pointed at Elizabeth. Olivia laughed and pushed her hand down, "It's not polite to point either." She kissed her hand. Elizabeth moved close to Amanda "I'm an old friend of your mom's." Amanda's eyes got big. Olivia didn't think to warn her.

Amanda backed up in Olivia's lap, "Hey! Look at me. She's nice. Elizabeth felt bad, she wondered what Serena did to make her reaction so bad. Why don't you call her Aunt Elizabeth?" Amanda climbed down, "Hi! Amanda hugged her. "Come on Amanda, finish your lunch." Trevor looked at his watch, "Liv, do you want me to run and grab food for everyone?" Amanda looked up and with a mouth full of burger, "Who's Liv?" Olivia tickled her, "Me!"

Trevor went to pick up lunch for everyone, including Kim who was still around. They all stayed at the hospital the whole afternoon. Olivia looked at all of them and they were tired, "Hey why don't you guys go to the hotel and rest. You can come back in the morning. Amanda held Olivia's hand tight. "Don't worry, I'm staying with you." Amanda relaxed.

Trevor kissed Olivia and hugged Amanda, "I'll see my girls in the morning." Amanda giggled, "I like him." Trevor threw his hands up, "Yes!" Alex hugged her and Elizabeth followed. "Night night Alex and Aunt Elizabeth. See you in the morning."

Olivia ate dinner with Amanda and talked about the little things, like their favorite foods, colors, tv shows until Amanda fell asleep in Olivia's arms. "Night sweet girl. I love you Amanda.
