1-A Hero Agency: Nabu Island: Late Afternoon
Yaoyorozu was staring at her computer screen when suddenly a large shockwave rocked the island. The rumbling from what she assumed was an earthquake continued for several seconds before the power cut. She quickly popped a few flashlights out from her arm before turning to her fellow classmates. "Everyone. Use these for now. We need to find out what happened to the power if were going to fix it." Momo then handed a flashlight to Shinsou, Kirishima, Sero, and Hagakure. "Shinsou has anyone called in?"
The boy had been spamming his class with his phone but no one was answering, he then saw the icon in the top right corner, it was 3 signal bars with an 'X' going through them which caused him to sigh. "I think the telephone tower is down as well as the power, I have no signal. We are on a pretty remote island, if we get the power back on the landlines might still work, though if everywhere on the island lost power it's not going to do us any good." The purple hair boy shrugged.
"I'll make us an electric generator so at the very least we have power. Kirishima get me the map of the island, we need to send people out to get into contact with everyone on their patrol routes. If they keep to their training they're going to trust us to get communications back online while they handle whatever is going on, nex-" The girl was cut off as Aizawa slammed into the room.
"What's going on!?" Aizawa tiredly but promptly asked.
"It seems like an earthquake knocked out the power and telephone tower Aizawa-sensei, I'm sending people out to gather our class and restore communications. I'm currently fixing the power issue here first so we can get back up and running for the others."
Aizawa just shrugged leaving it to his student.
Momo moved quickly as she opened her shirt and turned away from her teacher and classmates, this was followed by a large object plopping out of her stomach and onto the floor. She then pulled a long extension cord out of her body and plugged it into the machine and then the wall. As she activated the machine it whirred to life and the lights in the building slowly kicked back on. "Well that's one problem down."
"Good job Yaoyorozu, now where is Midoriya?" Aizawa asked, clearly agitated as if this was a villain situation they needed the problem child here to use Oboro's quirk.
"He's with Kyoka, they should be training outside. Let's see on patrol we have Tokoyami, Sato, Mina, Aoyama, and Tsu. That should leave everyone that isn't us, outside training around the building." Momo then paused in thought before remembering. "Oh wait sorry, Iida and Kaminari were answering a call, Mr. Mushi's car battery needed charging before the earthquake hit."
"Kirshima, get Midoriya and Jirou here, top priority. And you're in the field, act like it." Aizawa made sure his student understood the levity of the situation before sending him off.
"Yes sir!" Kirishima quickly hurried out the door barely getting out before the majority of their class started shuffling their way into the building.
Uraraka broke into the room shortly after the group and started screaming. "Aizawa-sensei! Bakugo heard Shoji mention villains were at the harbor and he charged off by himself to take them down!"
The news made class 1-A quickly erupt into hushed whispers about what was going on, and what villains Shoji and Uraraka were talking about.
Which made the man slap his face. "Damn that idiot, I thought he was getting better. Whatever. I'll make sure to track him down." Aizawa grumbled, looking over his class. They were currently missing 10 people exactly half, Bakugo, Jirou, Tokoyami, Iida, Kaminari, Sato, Mina, Aoyama, Asui, and ... Midoriya. His eyes then flashed red, half in anger, half to make his class settle down. Once they had settled down, he asked the question that was plaguing him. "Where. Is. Midoriya?"
Shouto looked around and decided to answer due to his classmates hesitation. "They disappeared to practice Jirou's quirk one on one Sensei."
'Of all the times.' Shouta thought to himself. "Do you know where they went?! The problem child is literally the back up plan, hell he would've just teleported himself here with Jirou if he knew ... what ... was ... happening..." That made Shouta stop, Midoriya would do that, but he didn't. In fact those were Aizawa's explicit instructions to the problem child if something should occur, and the problem child isn't that hot headed. Well there was that time with Eri but he had legitimate reason to fly off the handle then, and he never technically broke from the plan, Midoriya would've come back here first before doing anything else. Realization dawned on the man as it did the rest of the class. "He doesn't know or ... he's incapacitated."
"There's no way a villain took Midoriya and Jirou down, with her hearing and his strength it doesn't seem possible." Todoroki interjected.
"Well he'd be here unless something happened Todoroki, we're going to have to proceed without accounting for hi-"
Kirishima took that moment to burst back into the room. "I can't find them anywhere Sir!"
Aizawa slapped his face again. "We're aware Kirishima, come sit down. As of now I'm assuming control of the situation, Shoji are you certain you saw villains?"
"Yes Sensei, they crashed a boat into the harbor, that was the cause of the earlier tremors, I heard them as well." Shoji stoically responded.
"Then consider this all of your first real mission as 1-A's hero agency. Until we find a way to reestablish communications or we find Midoriya, we're on our own. You're all hero students, it's time to live up to the name." Aizawa took a breath settling himself as he came up with a plan. "Yaoyorozu make walkie-talkies for the entire class. Koji, use your quirk to hijack Midoriya's pigeons, have them bring everyone not here, here, also have them take walkie-talkies. That should serve as a barebones way to at least make us able to converse between ourselves. Uraraka how well can you fly with Air Cannon? As it stands your the only one among us with that capability left."
"I think I can do pretty well, I've been practicing a lot with Bakugo..." Uraraka gently pushed her non padded thumbs together nervously, though truth be told she hadn't had the quirk for all that long, only about a month.
"That's better than nothing and at this point it's all we got. Go get that idiot and work together with him, we'll issue new orders after we reestablish communications between all of 1-A." Aizawa threw one of the walkie talkies at the girl before ushering her out of the door. "Next we need to handle search and rescue. With villains attacking no doubt will there be casualties amongst the civilians. On top of that, we need intel. Hagakure, you're trying to be an underground hero aren't you? Whelp here's your first crack at the job. Track the villains, report on their numbers, quirks, and goals if possible. Do stay safe though."
"If I get the chance, want me to take some of them out?" Hagakure's grin was a little too blood thirsty for his taste but were glad it wasn't directed at them.
"Only if I give the go ahead, I don't want you getting caught or injured, don't forget they likely have a grudge against you if it's them." Aizawa responded.
"Trust me Sir, it goes both ways." Hagakure then nodded and ran out of the room toward the dock.
"Kirishima you're the fastest in our group, take Shinsou with you, you two are going to work together to harass the villains." Aizawa then turned to Shinsou." Try to save your real quirk as a trump card if possible."
They both nodded their heads and were out the door just as an absolutely massive amount of explosions went off from the dock. They could only stare in abject horror as every boat went up in smoke, there only current possible escape method, destroyed. Shinsou and Kirishima turned as the remainder of 1-A peered out from the door behind them.
Eraserhead just cursed, the loss of power and phone tower was definitely the villains doing not to mention the ships, but they must not know about Midoriya or they wouldn't try something this idiot. A dark thought then occurred to the pro 'Or they do know about him and that's why he's not responding.' "Zero, Red Riot be careful, and remember hero names from here on out." Aizawa tried to encourage them but he could see the slight fear in their eyes.
Kirishima turned between his teacher and the mess the villains were causing. "You got it Eraserhead!" Kirishima slammed his fists together before shunpoing towards the wreck. Shinsou hadn't even been able to get in a response due to the boy's quickness.
Aizawa peered out the door and saw smoke rising off in the distance to the east, he could vaguely remember that was where the cell tower was and cursed again. This was followed by another explosion in the west, which was the most populated part of the town. No doubt it seemed their plan was to divide and conquer and at the moment, everything was going the villains way but if they could retake that tower then it would be a massive victory for them. "Deva, I'm giving you the most important mission. Do you think you could fix that radio tower if we took it back from the villains?"
The girl suddenly had to deal with the remainder of their class staring at her and took a deep breath. "I believe I could lift the tower and potentially replace whatever broken parts it has but I'm going to need Cellophane to help me stabilize it, he could meld the pieces back together with his fire and use his tape to help support the structure."
"You got it then, Cellophane, Sugar Man, you're with Deva. Anima, Tentacole, you remain here and handle all incoming calls as well as using your quirks to scout and pass information around. Tail man you're with me. We're going to stop whoever is attacking the civilians. Hopefully we'll run into some of the others since Iida and Chargebolt were in that direction. Any questions?" Nobody said anything. "Good, now get moving." Aizawa added before running off in that direction, Ojiro in tow.
Momo watched her teacher leave and took another deep breath, she's strong, Izuku is strong, he'll be fine, she'll be fine. But she's supposed to die ... what if it happens here? Momo shook her head, this was not the time to be thinking so morosely.
Forests of Nabu Island: 10 Minutes Previously
Izuku could only wince in pain as he hit the floor with a thud, he'd currently been reduced to basically useless and was not a fan of their current prospects in a straight up fight with the enemy before them.
"Midoriya!" Jirou screamed as she watched the boy take the shot meant for her.
Izuku had barely been able to decipher that their current foe had Kuroe, not All for One, KUROE, HIS QUIRK! Which made absolutely no sense to the boy. Before the first mistake happened, the greenette jumped in front of what he assumed was a gun, taking a shot meant for Jirou, after all, he could just heal from the damage with Minor Regeneration. His classmate on the other hand could not, in his head it was black and white, it made sense. His next mistake was trying to charge his opponent, not realizing what he'd just been shot by, he'd already reached out and attempted to remove the man's quirk and destroy the gun. Noticing far too late that he was moving much slower than his usual speed. That was when things went from bad to worse, the man simply swung a fist out and launched him backwards from the sheer strength of the blow. He tried to activate Muscular in order to cushion the landing but that also failed as his body made a very painful cracking sound as he slumped against the forest floor, no doubt a bone or two had been fractured from the attack. However he could still move and that was far more important at the moment than being slightly a few cracked ribs.
Izuku moved his hand to where he had been shot and quickly realized what was causing his current predicament, he pulled the object out and stared at it. He held the very familiar object in hand for a few seconds, not believing how stupid he was, a quirk erasing bullet. He had to pray this was one of the temporary ones or they were shit out of luck. He stood weakly, barely warning Jirou to turn back around in time to dodge the villains attack. "JIROU, MOVE! HE'S GOT MY QUIRK SOMEHOW! DON'T LET HIM TOUCH YOU!"
The purple haired girl attacked with some sound waves from her speakers before jumping back, putting distance between her and their mystery assailant. The man wore a grey suit, had grey hair, and had some kind of weird purple liquid tank on his back with a black mask covering his face, the combination only heightened the fear she was currently feeling. The man simply tossed her attack aside with some strange barrier looking quirk, which was absolutely not the super strength he just used, so Midoriya was in fact, correct, meaning they were very far in the deep end on this one. She gave Green a shoulder as he limped trying to stand up and noticed he wasn't healing. "G-green?" Jirou weakly asked at the strange sight of their strongest classmate being reduced to looking so weak.
"Now's not the time to think about it, we gotta run Jirou. We can't beat someone with my quirk while I'm q-quirkless." Izuku hacked out some blood, it'd been awhile since he felt this powerless ... and come to think of it, it was All for One the last time he was made unable to use his quirks wasn't it? 'Man for people obssessed with having multiple quirks, why do they always bring ways to stop them?' Izuku internally whined at the unfairness.
"You. Move." The man calmly stated as he walked toward the pair.
Jirou looked between Green and herself and warily stood in front of him. "Midoriya, run. I'll buy you time. Even if my quirk get's stolen you can just give it back r-right?" She tried to give him a bright smile but she knew it would be a strained one at best.
Izuku looked between her and the assailant and realized she was right. At this rate all he would be doing is slowing her down, if he could escape for long enough he could potentially get all his quirks back once the bullet ran out, well in theory at least. If that was a perfected bullet then he was shit out of luck, not to mention he was currently in possession of Eri's quirk so even the potential idea of her rewinding his quirks back into existence was thrown out the window. Regardless, whether he was now officially quirkless or not didn't matter, the singular most important thing at the moment was keeping himself from getting captured by anyone even slightly related to All for One, that could only end in disaster. "I-I, okay Jirou, please be careful and hey." Izuku pulled her in closer to whisper something to her. "Something was wrong with his version of my quirk, it looked lifeless, almost like it was sick, I only got to look at it for like a second though but it might not be perfect. Also that mask and tank on his back are probably a weakness for you to abuse." Izuku then took off, bolting / limping into the distance, he had to trust his classmate to hold her own, even if running away from a villain was basically the opposite of what he trained for daily.
Jirou turned and faced the man who'd been nice enough to just walk at a leisurely pace toward them, he even let them talk everything out beforehand, not that she was complaining about it.
"You shouldn't have done that little girl. I might've let you live if you just minded your own business. Now you and him both need to die."
The punk girl gave as confident of a grin as she could and ripped a tree straight out of the ground. "If you wanna get to him you're gonna have to go through me."
The sight of the girl casually pulling a tree out by its roots startled the man for a second but he quickly recomposed himself realizing what happened. "Hmm I see. Of course he has, he's been strengthening his allies. Why wouldn't he?" A small smirk went to the man's face. "It's intoxicating isn't it? Wielding more than one quirk? More than one power?" The suited assailant made a mental note of the direction the boy ran in so he could chase him down after this scuffle. A small assurance in case he took too long with this girl. "However, only one person shall be allowed to wield the power of multiple quirks, and that, shall be me." Laser beams fired from his nails and shattered the would be weapon of the girl. Another sound wave came at him but he simply held a barrier out front and continued his advance. "I apologize but I do not have the time to play with you." The grey haired man said before two massive blue metal serpents emerged from his back and shot forward to bite at the girl.
Kyoka barely dodged as she rolled to the right, she wasn't used to being the one on the front lines, usually she was a support that helped the others fight better but she had to do this. She had power now, she HAD to fight to buy Green time. Her eyes blinked asynchronously as she watched her foe continue his steady but confident advance toward her and subsequently Midoriya. She couldn't let the man touch her but he clearly had the advantage in a ranged battle. So that left her with little options on how to fight him, her best bet would be to keep him at range while dodging his attacks. Whatever those blue dragon things were, they seemed to be the strongest attack he had but the lasers were the real threat. They sheared through a tree in seconds and were much faster then the dragons, they more than likely would decimate a person if they made direct contact. Just as she thought that, another wave of the nail lasers started firing at her and she ducked behind another tree to buy her some time, she scooped up some rocks and threw them as hard as she could at the man.
Not surprised in the slightest the gray haired man just held up his other hand a barrier blocked the potentially dangerous projectiles. "This is pathetic, and your running out of trees to hide behind. I WILL have him, and you are more than testing my patience."
Jirou watched as the man raised his hand, no doubt about to use yet another quirk, and suddenly storm clouds started appearing above her, she had no idea what told her to move but every essence of her body screamed at her to dodge. She quickly jumped to a new hiding location as a lightning bolt dropped from the sky, the sound of it hitting the ground caused her ears to cry out in pain, her eyes protested the bright light, and she couldn't feel her feet as she looked back at the location she used to be. It was scorched beyond belief, black rings of ash and soot were all that remained of the tree and the grass nearby. She barely caught him raising a hand again out of the corner of one of her eyes and realized he was going to do it again. At this point she just started bolting in the opposite direction of where Green ran, she was completely and utterly outmatched by this villain possessing at least 5 quirks.
That was when tragedy struck, no matter how fast she was, she wasn't faster than lightning.
The next bolt struck her mid stride, her right leg charred black as she screamed in pain and fell over. Jirou flipped herself over trying to ignore the pain as best she could, sticking her jack into her other leg and firing it in a last ditch attempt to stop her attacker.
He merely kept walking toward her as a shield deflected the weakened sound attack, with her other speaker fried and noticing the futility of the act, she simply turned over and began to crawl. "S-stay back!"
"Pathetic. Is this what happens when a hero is about to meet their end? What happened to your earlier bravado?" The man casually asked as he grabbed her by her left uncharred leg and dragged her limp form toward himself. "I will be taking this quirk though, the strength to lift a tree is impressive to say the least and if need be, I can always pawn it off later."
Seconds, turned to minutes, turned to years as Jirou felt her body being dragged toward the man, once he stole her second quirk, that was it, he was going to kill her. Silently the girl began to beg for someone to come save her, though she knew it was unlikely as nobody knew where she and Green had been training. Instead she closed her eyes and silently waited for the end.
That was until she heard the sound of a twig breaking in the distance, it only increased in pace as the footsteps got closer and closer until she heard a solid metal thud against the man currently clutching her. She opened her eyes to see Midoriya had come back holding a metal pipe in both hands.
"Let her go you grey haired fuck!"
Jirou looked at the intensity in his eyes and it almost scared her for a bit, she'd never seen Green look like that before, then again she'd never really been around him when he was fighting villains so maybe it was normal for him. But most importantly he shouldn't have come back, the villain was after him, that was why she fought this long to buy him time.
The man simply spat a bit of blood before grabbing the weapon and yanking Midoriya into him, gripping the boy by the neck. "I should really thank you for coming back, it saved me the trouble of tracking you down." Activating search he examined the boy and noticed the sheer number of quirks permeating from his body, and the man shook with glee. "So much power, so much to take, I'll gladly enjoy stripping it from you, slowly, and painfully."
Midoriya struggled in the man's arm before trying to bring down his weapon again, only to have it be easily deflected, had this been an incredibly stupid idea, yes. Would he also probably do it again without hesitation in the future? Also yes, though this was probably his greatest flaw, his inability to do nothing. 'Let's take on the super villain with a copy of my quirk with no quirks ourselves, it'll go fine Izuku, we'll save Jirou Izuku.' Izuku shook his head as he felt something he'd never felt, his body was retching in pain as one of his quirks being forcefully ripped out, the string went taught as it pulled against his insides. "GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Izuku started sweating and screaming profusely as he tried to stop the theft of one of his quirks but no matter how hard he tried to hold onto the string, it was slipping. It wasn't long before the entire thing had been ripped out.
"Hmm that was number one, let's see, only eleven -no- twelve quirks to go." The grey haired villain commented flatly before starting to tug again.
It wasn't long before Izuku felt another quirk being ripped out, another one of his powers being taken, just like that. There was probably some amount of irony the boy could take from this situation but now was not the time to acknowledge or think about it.
Jirou stared on in horror. She couldn't die like this, she couldn't let Midoriya die like this, she refused to let either of them die like this. The thing Jirou felt scream earlier, screamed again, a beastial thing, she had not felt, well, ever really. In the back of her mind, it growled, it hissed, it was ready to attack, it would never be prey. In that moment, clarity came to Kyouka, time seemed to slow almost, her enhanced vision and hearing were not simply making things feel like they were moving slower, they actually were moving slower. The girl noticed the pained expression on Midoriya, the way the sweat beaded as it dropped from his face. Then she turned and saw the concentration on the villain's face to his current task, she had been utterly disregarded, no longer a threat. She only had one option, her opponent was currently stamping down on her good leg, making her unable to move normally. Jirou prayed for her quirk to work and she could almost feel it responding in kind, it felt, almost warm, strange considering spiders were one of her greatest fears, and now she was drawing strength from them.
The spider legs erupted out the back of her body piercing the man who had her pinned in the stomach, she could hear the blood splattering onto the floor behind her, no doubt coating Midoriya and the villain in the villain's innards. The purple haired girl wasted no time, immediately she retracted them from the man's stomach and flung herself forward with them, skittering as fast as she could. She briefly turned to see Green had freed himself from the man's grasp thanks to her attack and bolted as well. Her mission complete, she focused on running and if her quirks leg's were finally going to work now she had no reason to complain about it. Her attacker was screaming in rage as Jirou's strange sense of near clairvoyance continued, she somehow knew before they came that he was firing more of those nail lasers at her. She flung herself from one tree to the next, dodging them as she went, she had to escape, she injured him but for who knows how long. She turned one last time seeing how angry she'd made their attacker, he'd completely forgotten about Midoriya whom she could no longer see.
"I'm sorry Green, I did my best. I hope you made it to safety, I have to warn the others before they run into this monster, I'll get help and come back, I promise!" The newly spider quirked girl felt a throb of pain from her human right leg, though she didn't bother to check it, if she'd lost it or it'd become permanently disabled she didn't think she'd be able to handle it emotionally at the moment. Instead she focused on her goal and kept flinging herself forward toward 1-A's agency. In her haste she didn't even notice the smoke in the distance...
Back to their attacker
The man held his bleeding stomach as the girl jumped between tree to tree, his shots kept missing and soon the girl was out of sight. He cursed loudly before turning, he assumed the little hero was out of tricks, that's what he gets for letting his guard down, a mistake he wouldn't make again. "I suppose it's time to test this out." The villain said to no one as he felt the wound in his stomach start to close in on itself. "I see, so this is what having regeneration feels like. A tad slow for my taste but it get's the job done." Nine flexed the previous hole in his stomach for a bit before the man's smile darkened, the boy had so much more to give him after all.
After the wound had fully closed Nine inspected his options, he could make an attempt to chase after the girl but he doubted he could catch her as she is now, not to mention his body was protesting strenuous movement at the moment. He could already feel parts of his body flaking off due to quirk overuse, he shook his head, he needed to focus. That girl could be dealt with later, his objective was right in front of him. He reaffirmed the direction the boy ran with Scanning, and lightly jogged after his target, reloading his gun as he went.
Wednesday : Current Time
"IIDA, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU DUDE?!" Kaminari screamed as he ducked out of the way of another red laser that was sent flying in his direction. The blonde haired teen couldn't even remotely locate where the flying suit of armor had gone, he'd said he be a decoy for the pair and for about 30 seconds it'd worked. Then Kaminari lost sight of his classmate and everything went to shit so unbelievably fast. Now the attacks were completely focused on him and despite his somewhat impressive dodges, the area around him was now littered with scorched potholes where the lasers had hit previously. And he was tiring.
Now sweating, face covered in muck, his body heaving, and slightly singed, he lay in a curl in the dirt. Not exactly the best position to find oneself in but the attacks had finally stopped, causing him to poke his head out. The sight left him only able to say one thing. "Oh fuck."
