As various groups of adventures gathered around the church and the surrounding area, I began humming a tune as a means to ease my nerves, despite me being quite excited for the upcoming battle, and Krishna agrees with me, as he feels very warm yet comforting.

I guess that both my companions share the same sentiment as I do, more specifically, Melia as she has a massive grin on her face while Louis look bemused by both Melia and me as Lars went up to the eastern priest and rubbed up against his leg as the priest brought his gloved hand down onto his head and rubbed him, earning a playful whine from the wolf.

"Not long to go." I mused to myself as I noticed the sun still rising within the sky as my crimson orbs focused on the church, or the other two heroes more specifically as they both exited the main doors. Amaki looking the same as always, although he did have a hint of nervousness buried deeply within his aloof nature. Kawasumi on the other hand, reminded me of an elven archer with his armour of choice with his bow slung across his back.

So, Kawasumi has truly embraced the Archer class while Amaki is most likely going for a Dark Knight class look, which is quite neat. Though, for some strange reason, I think that a paladin look would suit Amaki quite well considering that the first kanji in Amaki meant both sky and heaven.

Then again, I like naming themes, and the fact irony plays a role in this makes it even funnier.

"Hey there, Thomas. Looks like you're reeling to go." I heard Kawasumi speak as he headed towards me, a serene smile on his youthful features and a group of adventures behind him.

Speak of the devil, and he shall appear.

I nodded my head as I stood up to my full height, towering over most of the people present with the exception of an older guy wearing knight armour and a thick moustache, who barely stood taller than myself, much to my amusement.

"Yeah. I hope for a decent challenge from the waves and for a low casualty rate. After all, we can't expect God to do all the work." I answered as the bow-wielder looked surprised before focusing on me, or more specifically, my necklace.

"Thomas. Are you religious? Or is it merely an accessory?" The Bow Hero asked me as that grabbed the attention of his entire party, alongside Louis as curiosity showed on his face.

Oh yeah, it's quite an uncommon sight to see a Japanese person of the catholic faith and considering the Kotomine family has been tied to the religion for a long time, and if my grandfather is to be believed, the first Kotomine patriarch was a member of the Shimabara rebellion.

"I was born into a catholic family and was baptised in Kyoto, although I don't really practice that much other than my trips to Japan on the New Year," I answered back as the light-haired hero nodded his head from my explanation.

When I looked around, I noticed a familiar green cloak of Naofumi Iwatani as he made his way towards me, with Raphtalia following closely behind him. Iwatani himself sporting some new bits of steel armour connected to his body with his trademark scowl on his face before it morphed into a smirk as he looked at my group.

"Ya got everything done?" I asked as the Shield Hero nodded his head before moving his shoulders around in a circular motion, reminiscent of Max when he either got into a fight or sparred with me.

I looked up to the timer within my vision, the timer showed only fifteen seconds left on the clock before the wave begins.

"Alright, folks! The wave is nearly here." I called out to the younger two heroes as they nodded, determination on Kawasumi's face and a smirk on Iwatani's face. As for my party, they were definitely nervous to all hell, but also excited, like me.

I shake my head as I took in a deep breath while watching the timer count down.

00:00:05

00:00:04

00:00:03

00:00:02

00:00:01

00:00:00

As the timer hit 0, the sky immediately turned scarlet as a golden glow enveloped my body, alongside everyone near me, and within a second, Castle Town vanished from view and was replaced with a cliffside overviewing plains with several blueish-green portals opening.

Okay then. What the ever-loving fuck is this!? Did someone slip something into my drink or something!?

I shook my head as two of the heroes ran off into a direction, their parties following them while my crew alongside Iwatani and Raphtalia stayed with us.

"Naofumi! Look!" Raphtalia called out as I saw a flare rising out of a nearby village. Iwatani's eyes widen in recognition as he mumbled something before shifting his focus from the village over to my crimson orbs.

"Thomas! Raphtalia and I are heading to Lute village to evacuate everyone, and we'll need some extra muscle to help us!" Iwatani barked out as a smirk speared across my face, Krishna appearing within my hand within a burst of flames as the Shield-bearer rushed into the village, my group following behind.

"Alright, here's the plan! Louis, you, and I will be getting the village folks to safety. Melia, I want you to cover us with magic and heals when needed and take Lars with ya!" I commanded as we rushed towards the village, Iwatani and Raphtalia heading to the centre of town as my group headed towards the areas closer to the border of Lute.

In the corners of my eyes, I saw several small black dots descending from the portals within the scarlet skies as demonic-looking skeletons, zombies and various rotting creatures began rupturing from the ground, clad in rotting armour and armed with both clubs and shields.

Heh, should be easy.

With a gleam in my eye and a mental command, Krishna morphed into his [Ember Spear] form as I jumped upwards, light embers flowing behind the blade as I dived towards the skeleton, Krishna positioned in a way with the spear blade pointing towards my shoulder. As I descended, I slashed Krishna across the skeleton's shoulder, cleaving through the armour and across the spinal cord. Once the spear blade exited the armour, the skeleton fell apart in two as I saw my exp bar slightly growing.

A smirk spread across my face as I rushed forwards while swinging Krishna upwards, slashing through a zombie as the smell of rotting flesh being burned filled my nostrils. When I turned my head, my crimson eyes landed on a young family huddled together as the older male's eyes widen from the two monsters being incinerated.

Well then, time to perform my duty as a hero.

"Alrighty, folks. I need ya to head to the village entrance, it's most likely that the others are being evacuated from that point." I spoke out in a calm voice as I looked around just in case if any eejit tried anything funny.

The group of villagers nodded as they ran off towards the entrance, while my group went into the other direction. I then switched Krishna's [Ember Spear] to my recently acquired [Iron Spear] as the skill of [Chaos Spear] can help out with groups of enemies.

Speaking of which, I saw several zombies gathering towards a small cluster of children as my eyes narrow at the sight as Melia quickly chanted something.

"Mazan!" She shouted as the group of zombies were quickly dispersed from the children as Louis ran over to them, comforting them as I spun Krishna around, the red gem glowing as I pointed the blade at the hoard.

"Chaos Spear!" I bellowed out as Krishna's blade gained a golden glow as I began thrusting the spear towards the hoard, multiple copies of the spearhead flown towards the hoard, most of the copies meeting their mark as the zombies groaned while hitting the ground.

A smirk etched its way onto my face as the last zombie fell. I then turned my head towards the group of children as they wobbled upwards, dirty markings on both their skin and clothing, with the oldest looking one, a blonde-haired lad with scarlet eyes looked up at me with relief in the eyes.

"Thank you, mister!" He yelled as he led the group of children towards the evacuation point as Louis stood up to his full height and made his way over to my side as my smirk turned into a small smile from the kid's thank you.

With that, my group and I continued with the evacuation effort as Louis comforted them and told them where to go, Lars smelled out survivors and led us to them, Melia providing magic from behind as I took the front lines. This worked out quite well for us as Louis had a way with words, Melia was a fucking beast with her AoE spells like Mazan or Maragi while I handled the front lines as Krishna gave me a variety of physical attacks.

So, basically a really good core of the four of us.

I spun Krishna around my hand and launched it towards a zombie, stabbing it in the eye as I stomped on the ground, followed up by blitzing one of the bigger zombies and driving my entire hand towards the chest. The gauntlet smashed through the weak armour as my fist entered the chest, completely cracking the sternum, alongside several ribs and a few organs, judging by the immediate flow of blood gushing out of the chest, coating my fist and parts of my armour.

"Fucking hell, talk about a workout," I commented as I withdrew my hand, the zombie collapsing onto the ground, Krishna pushing completely through the skull and organs such as the eye and brain. I grabbed Krishna by the shaft and pulled upwards, freeing the legendary weapon as I did a quick spin of the weapon, with the blood being affected by gravity as it slipped away.

As I looked up, I saw a familiar green cloak blowing in the wind on a nearby tower with an absolute fuckton of monsters towards the base of the tower. Iwatani was currently pouring liquid across a zombie while he held a lit torch in his other hand.

Hang on…oh you crazy motherfucker!

A smirk appeared on my face as I saw Iwatani light up that wooden tower like a fucking bonfire, incinerating all the monsters that were climbing the tower as Iwatani was basically thrown down to the ground by the kinetic force of the explosion. He then got up and dusted himself off as I saw a zombie snarking up towards him.

As I did once before, I spun Krishna across my hand, holding the same way as a javelin, and with all my might, I threw Krishna towards the zombie's head as I rushed behind. With pinpoint accuracy, Krishna embedded himself into the zombie's torso, with an aggravated groan escaping its mouth as Iwatani quickly turned around and jumped backwards, evading a swipe of a club.

I leapt upwards, and with a snap of my fingers, Krishna appeared within my hands within a burst of flames as Krishna shifted from the [Iron Spear] to the [Ember Spear], the warmth of the spear flowing through my arms as I thrust Krishna into the jugular of the zombie. Light embers then burned around where I stabbed the spear as I pulled Krishna upwards, smoke and embers following.

With all my might, I jumped off the zombie's torso as brain matter and blood began gushing out, covering the nearby area as I landed onto the ground with a heavy thud from my boots.

"Enjoyed the bonfire, Iwatani?" I asked as I extended my arm towards the man in green as he grasped my covered hand and helped himself upwards. Iwatani then lets out a chuckle as he moved his shield arm around.

"It's definitely not the most stupid thing I've done, but it's definitely up there with trying to outdrink an entire dorm. Not my proudest moment, but I did win." Iwatani stated as I smirked at the thought.

I heard footsteps as I saw my crew arriving, Louis slightly panting and Melia taking in a deep breath.

"Well, both Melia and I managed to get all the survivors we could see to the evacuation point, and some of the retired adventures are helping out with the monster population," Louis reported as I heard some zombie groans, most likely backing up his story.

I nodded my head as I saw the lone companion of Iwatani running towards us, hands firmly on a longsword by her hip with slight movements from her tail.

"Master Naofumi! Sir Thomas!" she exclaimed as she saw both of us. She then drew her sword out as she kept an eye around us as several monsters were gathering around us. I merely smirked as I aimed Krishna towards the monsters, with some kind of feeling boiling within my chest.

'What is…this feeling…?' I wondered as I heard an odd noise, reminiscent of a flare gun as I looked upwards, and my crimson eyes widened as I saw several streaks of fire heading upwards, merging together into one fireball.

…You have to be fucking kidding me!?

"Head for cover!" I shouted as I grabbed both Louis and Melia by the waists and hauled ass over to a half-destroyed wall before pushing them against the part of the wall with the most amount of cover as I crouched behind the other side of the wall with Lars pushing up against my chest, my eyes plastered towards the sky. The massive fireball exploded into a meteor shower of flames, with some of the sparks hitting the wall at full force and seeping through the cracks.

"Tch." I hissed out as a few sparks hit my face, a searing pain flared through my body as I covered Lars with my entire body as he let out a whimper before nuzzling his snout into my chest once more. I moved my head to see that the meteor shower of flames had subsided, but the area around us was still on fire as a chuckle echoed throughout the flames.

"C-Commander? Was that necessary?" a timid voice spoke out as I got a better look, as I saw a young boy clad in armour with a sword by his hip and a simple shield on his back as the older man barked out a laugh.

"Who cares. It's much easier to burn the entire town down and rebuild it. Plus, it might get rid of any demi-human villagers or get me a promotion." The commander spoke out as the young knight looked down. A second knight, one with sharp eyes and a scar across the bridge of his nose only narrowed his eyes at the commander.

Wow, what a piece of work.

"Oh? The Shield Hero was here? Your certainly tougher than expected." The leader commented as a sneer grew on his face as I saw Raphtalia pop out of Iwatani's cloak, sword immediately drawn and positioned in a way that she had a clean shot of cutting the commander's throat, most likely near his jugular for a quick and messy kill.

Believe me, I know.

"Tell me! Did you do this while knowing that we were here!? Depending on your answer, I'll strike you down this instant!" the tea-red eyed woman growled out as her sword was blocked by the stone-faced knight with the assistance of a partially drawn blade.

If this was either feudal Japan or medieval Europe, Raphtalia would've made one hell of a retainer for Iwatani.

"And who in God's name are you? Are you with the Shield Hero?" the commander spat out as he glared at the duo as the female companion of Iwatani back-stepped and got into a position once more.

"My very being is the sword wielded by Naofumi! None shall disrespect him within my presence!" Raphtalia declared as her eyes narrowed further, a dangerous glint in her eyes.

"You dare to point your swords at the royal knight, especially the commander!? You dammed demi-human!" the commander snarled out as I felt irritation filling through my veins.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" I spoke out as I stood up from the damaged wall, dust falling off my body as I turned to face the group of knights, who had looks of shock and surprise on their faces. The commanders were filled with surprise as he gulped as heavy thuds echoed throughout the area.

"S-Sir spear hero!? I-I've would've figured that you were with the others?" The commander stuttered out as I got closer to him, the other knights tensing as the searing pain on my face dulled. The commander's face becoming more fearful as I got closer.

I sent a heavy punch towards his stomach, lifting him up a few centimetres into the air as saliva began leaking out of his mouth, followed up by a slam with my right knee into the same position as the previous strike. More saliva seeped out of his mouth, though the blood was more prominent than before.

His eyes widen even more as I quickly grasped his neck with my hand, fingers curling across his chin, then slammed him into a nearby wall, destroying the wall as I let go, my crimson eyes narrowing at the commander.

"H-Holy shit, Thomas!" Iwatani commented as I looked down on the prone commander, sputtering blood and saliva at what I did.

"Not only did you firebomb an entire village without checking for any survivors, but you've had the audacity of hurting my party. How do you answer that, commander?" I slowly spoke out, both irritation and something…else filling my body as I slammed my boot onto his chest, causing the commander to spit out more blood-tainted saliva. I then raised Krishna above the prone commander as I aimed the spearhead towards his neck.

I wasn't too sure what that other emotion was, but it felt…good.

"L-Look! I-I-I didn't know about your party, and I'm sorry about that!" he stuttered out as I mulled over what he said, before pulling Krishna away from his neck. I then took my boot off his chest as my crimson eyes pierced his soul.

"I'll let you off this time. But remember this if you try anything like that again, I'll twist off your arm and keep it as a prize and inform the king of this stunt. You get me?" I slowly asked as the colour drained from his face at my threat, as he began nodding rapidly.

I then roughly grabbed him by the forearm, then dragged him upwards before pointing Krishna towards his knights, who were at varying levels of shock, with the one who blocked Raphtalia's strike giving me a knowing smirk.

"If we're done arguing, we've still got business to deal with," I stated as the other knights nodded, but the commander huffed, blood still leaking from the corner of his mouth. He turned to me and pointed towards Iwatani and Raphtalia.

"I refuse to work with the Shield Hero or a goddamned beast! My pride won't allow it!" he snapped at me, fury in his eyes as I returned the gesture with a lazy smirk, looking behind him. Iwatani must've noticed as well as he let out a chuckle.

"If you won't cooperate with me, then I guess it leaves me with no other choice. I guess I'll just kick back and watch you guys bet turned into monster bait!" Iwatani commented a sadistic grin spread across his face as the knights turned around to see a massive zombie covered in some armour letting out a massive roar, saliva spitting everywhere.

At the sight of the zombie and the war cry of it, some of the knights basically shit themselves, with the commander being the worst offender and collapsing to the ground as the other knight immediately sprang into action, fully drawing his blade as he looked around his squad.

"Knights! Draw your swords and be prepared to defend both commander Reinhart and the civilians!" he ordered as the other knights nodded vigorously, drawing their own weapons while Iwatani rushed in front of 'Reinhart' and tanked the strike, grunting slightly before deflecting the blow towards the side, creating an opening.

I immediately capitalize on the opening by shifting Krishna into his [Iron Halberd] form and aimed towards the joint between the forearm and bicep, with the force of the swing, it smashed against the elbow, and I heard something crack. The zombie looked towards me as it bellowed out another roar, only to be cut short as the brunette demi-human jumped upwards and wedged the sword deep into the monster's neck, decapitating the monster as it fell to the ground with a heavy thud.

I gave Raphtalia a thumbs up as Krishna morphed into his [Iron spear] once again as my eyes scanned the area around me, and I homed in at the closest group of zombies, Krishna aimed forwards as I began thrusting the spear blade towards the hoard, sparks, and blood glistening across the battlefield, a feral smirk grew as the squelching of flesh filled the area.

"Chaos Spear!" I bellowed out as I activated the skill once more, the golden copies flurrying outwards, meeting their mark with limbs flying everywhere and loud groans from the zombies. I jumped backwards as Louis casts a Mahama towards the incoming hoard, a shining light filled the area as the majority of the hoard suddenly imploded.

"Nice save!" I complimented the eastern priest as he nodded to me, a calm look on his face as he chanted something while running his hand across his blade as the blade itself began to glow a light colour. After that, eh continued with decimating the zombie hoard with elegance.

A large roar echoed throughout the area, my head snapping towards where the noise originated, only to see a humanoid shape blurred past me before smashing into a nearby wall, dust exploding outwards.

Christ on a bike! What the fuck was that!?

"Yo, ya alright there, boyo?" I questioned as I made a mad dash over to the person, only to see Kawasumi, covered in dust and some blood on him as his dazed eyes focused on me before regaining his composure.

"Well…it looks like I may have underestimated the boss…" Kawasumi weakly admitted as I shook my head, I then grabbed the downed hero by the armpits, then roughly dragged him upwards, I then moved my arms to his shoulders to keep him in place. He then shook his head, snapping himself out of his previous daze.

"So, what's the boss like?" I asked as I walked out of the wall, pulling Kawasumi along as he stumbled for a second before regaining his composure as I casually thrust out Krishna with one hand, piercing the exposed skin of a random zombie mook.

"Well, from Dimension Web, the first boss is always either a Chimera that specialised in both fire and poison or a Fire Giant specialising in both fire and physical attacks. Ren did also say that the beginning boss for him was a Chimera." Kawasumi rambled on I jogged ahead, the bowman following behind.

As I got to the group of knights and my group, Melia saw me and ran towards me, panting slightly as she took in a deep breath.

"Thomas, what was that?" She enquired as I jabbed a thumb towards the area where Kawasumi was yeeted from.

"I'm planning on going with Kawasumi and lending both him and Amaki a hand with the boss, and I think it's a good idea for you to come with me so you can lend us some magical support," I stated as she nodded. I heard footsteps as I saw Iwatani heading over towards us.

"So, what's going on with Itsuki?" He asked as I explained what I told Melia, with him nodding his head while lightly gripping his jaw.

"Our companions, alongside the knights and I should be able to handle everything from here, Thomas. You and Melia should go and assist the idiots and end the wave." Iwatani stated confidence in his words as I nodded my head.

I slung Krishna across my back as I gestured Melia to follow me while Kawasumi began heading back towards the Chimera. I allowed a smirk to grow on my face as I thought about what a Chimera would be like.

Is this how the Greek heroes felt when they fought something? Or was it only the Celtic heroes?

-TimeSkip-

As I ran behind Kawasumi, the dense woods casting shadows amongst the crimson sky. Melia followed us as the occasional zombie bug got swatted away, either my physical strength or a simple spell.

All of a sudden, Kawasumi stopped while equipping his bow and crouching slightly. I unslung Krishna from my back as a roar echoed throughout the forest, followed by a grunt as I saw the armoured body of Amaki skidding backwards, his sword embedded in the ground as he stayed on the ground.

I then focused my energy on my legs, and after a moment, I leapt upwards into the sky as I eyed the beast. Definitely a Chimera by the looks of it, the body of a lion, a tail of a serpent and the heads of a goat, dragon, and lion.

The beast itself had various gashes and puncture wounds, presumably from both Amaki and Kawasumi. All of these wounds and the blood leaking throughout its body should make it a relatively easy boss to finish off, but I really shouldn't take that bet.

Hmm, my first boss fight of the waves. Hope you give me a good fight, despite you being in a weakened state.

The Chimera,

Boss of the 2nd wave

I spun Krishna across my throwing hand as I threw the legendary spear towards the Chimera as it embedded itself into the beast's back. The Chimera lets out an ear-piercing screech as I landed onto its back, heavy boots causing the beast to buckle from the sudden weight. I then stomped where the spinal cord was, the sound of bones snapping echoed throughout the area.

I then jumped off the beast while snapping my fingers, Krishna reappearing in my hand within a burst of embers as Amaki rushed the beast. He ran his hand across the dark blade, embers rising off the legendary sword.

"Crimson Blade!" he shouted as he slashed the downed beast, embers hitting the Chimera as it cried out in pain. Amaki then followed up by a quick slash towards the goat head's throat as the dragon head retaliated with a breath of flames hitting him directly. The sword hero grunted in pain as he jumped out of the way, smoke coming off his body.

The Chimera lets out another pained howl as an arrow coated in wind pierces the lion head with Kawasumi bursting out of the nearby bush while pulling the drawstring of his bow backwards, a light-coloured arrow forming before releasing it. The bolts hit the Chimera across its body as my eyes looked towards the legs of the beast.

An idea popped into my head as I leapt backwards from the beast.

"Kawasumi! Aim for the ankles! It'll bring this beast down! Melia, freeze the paws!" I shouted as I got into a low crouch, Krishna primed by my side as it pointed towards the beast. Faint words echoed throughout the woods as the paws of the beast were frozen in ice. With a deep breath to calm my nerves, I made a dash towards the underbelly of the Chimera, I then slid onto my knees as my momentum kept me going as I levelled Krishna towards the side of the Chimera.

"You got it, Thomas!" Kawasumi called out as the spearhead slammed into the belly of the beast, the momentum kept moving me as I pushed all my energy into pushing my right hand on the lower end of Krishna downwards while keeping my left hand steady near the top of the spear, cutting out a deep gash in the Chimera.

Blood and guts immediately began spilling out as I continued ripping into the beast with the momentum with the beast letting out an ear-piercing screech as I got to the other side of its underbelly.

I brought my body upwards off my knees as I turned my body around, blood sploshing outwards from the beast's stomach as it lets out a loud squeal. I saw four bolts of white energy entering the ankles of the beast's legs, causing both the ice to shatter from the arrows and the beast to crumble down to the ground.

"Nice shootin' Tex!" I called out as I moved my joints around as I shook off the excess blood off my armour and sash. Kawasumi lets out a chuckle as he pulls the bowstring back once more, a crimson bolt forming where the arrow would go.

"I think I'll finish this boss off. Flame Arrow!" he shouted as he released the red bolt, with said bolt striking at its heart, causing it to let out one final screech, before silence.

After a moment, the crimson-tinted sky began to vanish to a setting sun as I headed towards the spellcaster as she spun her staff in her palm as I saw several people emerging from the forest, most of them wounded to an extent as they looked relieved.

"Holy fuck, what a rush," I commented as Melia gave me a smile while closing her eyes for a brief second before hugging me, while I returned the gesture.

Hugs are nice.

I turned towards the fallen beast as I remembered my kleptomaniac tendencies from games I've played in the past. I think the parts from the Chimera such as the bones, parts from all four heads could boost be in the long run. Plus, I think the viper tail could have some potent venom I could use to make either poison bombs or something equally nasty for those fucks that annoy me.

I told Melia what I was planning to do, and she nodded as she puts her staff away, pulls up the sleeves of her dress and asks what she needs to do.

A woman who doesn't mind getting her hands dirty is mostly a fantastic partner to work with in my experience.

-TimeSkip-

So, it took an hour to fully dissect the components of what I want, and that's without having to deal with both Amaki and Kawasumi being dickwats about who should get what. They kept saying that they should get the entire heads to themselves while giving me the remains to use, as they thought I was 'underperforming' or something stupid among those lines.

It took me grabbing both of them by the heads and smashing their skulls together before they began working with me. After that, they got into a seiza position and began apologising to me.

Oh, Christ almighty, give me a fucking drink. I think I deserved one.

After that whole fucking fiasco, Melia and I began heading back to the village, a sack full of Chimera parts as a gift to Iwatani as I think he needs every advantage he needs. I mainly packed parts of the dragon, lion, goat, and serpent as I think Iwatani would find it better to get any parts for himself outside of the heads as the both of us harvested those.

"Melia, mind if you find Iwatani and give him this?" I asked my companion as I handed her the sack full of Chimera parts. The spellcaster nods her head as she jogged away, trying to find the shield hero.

As she does that, I looked around and took in the aftermath of the wave, several people morning lost ones and their home being destroyed. I grasped my cross and began muttering prayers for those lost souls.

I heard footsteps as I turned around, only to see the same group of kids I saved in the village, with the scarlet-eyed kid leading them, a slight gleam in his eyes.

"Hello there, mister!" the kid spoke out as he gave me a big smile while waving at me. I merely chuckled at his enthusiasm as I crouched down a bit.

"Yo. Glad to see you lads are still alive." I commented as the other kids nodded, with the scarlet-eyed kid brimming with pride.

"With some help from Joseph, I was able to lead everyone to safety!" the kid spoke out as the other kids nodded in agreement. I merely chuckled at them.

"What's your name? Mine's Thomas." I asked as the scarlet-eyed kid began pointing towards each member of his band.

"My name is Willian and that's my brother Joseph. The demi-human is Terrance, and the flower lady is Florence." William stated as he pointed towards each member. Joseph had similar features to William with blonde hair but having azure eyes instead of scarlet. Terrance had dark hair and bull-like horns protruding from his head and a bull tail. Florence had dark silver hair and pink eyes.

I merely smiled as each of them began talking about themselves, their lives before the wave struck and their friendship between all four of them. After a while, I gave them a quick hug before getting up to my full height. The four of them nodded before running off towards a nun as she led them to another group of children.

I think those four have a good future in front of them.

As I began walking to find the rest of my party, I saw the villages in front of Iwatani, as they thanked him for his assistance for defending the wave as he looked kinda lost on how to deal with that.

I just merely chuckled as I looked towards the setting sun, a breathtaking sight.

It's been one hell of a day, that's for sure.

A/N: And that's chapter 14 done, and a pretty lengthy one to boot.

Thomas and the other heroes participated in the wave, with Thomas both assisting Naofumi with defending and evacuation plans, dealt with a pain in the ass commander. After that, both Thomas and Melia assisted in defeating the Chimera.

I've watched Moriarty the Patriot recently, so the name William has been on my mind for a while. Same as Yakuza, as I was watching a specific scene when I was writing how Thomas dealt with the commander.

Another question about Thomas, is how would you describe him? As I think it's interesting to see how the reader views certain characters could both help and to see how Thomas comes off to people.

Anyways, I'll see ya when I get the next chapter done, or when I do rewriting earlier chapters.

Chao.
