The castle in Radiant Garden was still a bit of a huge mess after the big battle with the Heartless long ago. The Committee just didn't have time to deal with the broken, dusty, worn-down monster of a building, focused instead on their town. It at least meant no one to interrupt the meeting between the Nobodies recently turned back into humans and their Soul Reaper friend.

Although Lea still wasn't sure if he'd call Kisuke Urahara a friend.

"You managed to recomplete him without destroying the Nobody?" Ienzo, a small figure with blue-gray hair covering half his face and formerly Number Six: Zexion, asked quite excitedly of Kisuke.

"Technically we did still destroy him, but we kept the body intact to ensure he would wake back up where we wanted him." Kisuke replied casually. Lea shuddered as he remembered that horrible process. "It sounds like either something similar happened to your former coworkers, Braig and Isa, or they woke up first and went back to working for your old boss."

"Yes, so it would seem, though the question next is why?"

"Yeah, big question." Lea grumbled. "Braig makes a bit of sense, he was always a bit more buddy-buddy with Xehanort than Ansem the Wise. But Isa…"

"It is strange, it always seemed like the two of you were close." Ienzo commented. Behind him, Aeleus - strong muscled and slicked brown hair, formerly Number Five, Lexeaus - was searching through what books were left in the ruined office of Ansem the Wise for information to help them with Demyx, said Nobody helping the search in a different corner.

"I thought so, too… as soon as I find him I'm going to knock some sense back into him."

"If he's with Xehanort, he's bound to show up eventually." Kisuke waved aside Lea's brooding and focused back on Ienzo. "In the meantime, I'd like to take a look at all your research into the heart, and possibly any memories you have on what the fate of Demyx's Heartless might have been. He's the only one we couldn't figure out how to safely recomplete, and the fact he's a Soul Reaper makes it much harder."

"This is true, I was certainly surprised he even became a Nobody to begin with after learning he was already dead." The small blue-gray haired scientist looked over at Demyx. Sensing eyes on him, Demyx looked back at them curiously, having paid no previous attention to the conversation. "Unfortunately, Even would have been the one trusted with any information on working with a zanpaktou Heartless, and he is still resting with Dilan, the two of them conscious but unstable. I believe it was mentioned, Demyx, that you saw Xemnas destroy what you assumed was your zanpaktou spirit in Heartless form?"

"Oh, yeah, pretty sure it was her at least." The Water Nobody stood to better be a part of the discussion. "Hitsugaya thought maybe she would have ended up in Kingdom Hearts if she got destroyed."

"He's not wrong, most hearts end up there until they can be either reborn or returned to their body once the Nobody is defeated." Ienzo agreed. "However," Demyx looked apprehensive at those words, as they'd been a thorn in his side for every step of trying to figure out how to recomplete him, "due to the nature of the type of being that became a Heartless, it's likely there was no heart to travel to Kingdom Hearts. I don't know what happens to spirits when slain, or rather swords that are broken."

Demyx looked to Kisuke only to feel his non-existent heart drop at the blonde man's serious frown.

"Swords can usually be repaired, but since she was the full spirit, breaking her would be like breaking a Bankai. It can never be fixed."

"So… so that's it? I'm just stuck like this?" Demyx whimpered.

"What if becoming a Heartless changed that physiology somewhat?" Ienzo proposed to Kisuke, feeling sorry for the poor Soul Reaper Nobody. "How was Hitsugaya recompleted?"

Kisuke briefly explained what he knew of the pirate that performed a surgery on a soul to put them back together.

"Even he needs the other half to complete his ability…" Ienzo mused, thinking on overtime. "But by the sound of it, there was a heart within Hyorinmaru that could be returned to Hitsugaya. That means that the Heartless might take the body of the zanpaktou, but the heart of their Soul Reaper. If Demyx's zanpaktou remains attached to what is left of Demyx's heart, she may still be salvageable. Whether she was able to get to Kingdom Hearts or wanders on another world unknown, there is a chance she can be returned."

"So can we use a sort of wayfinder to find her like how we tracked Hyorinmaru?" Demyx was hopeful again.

"If Ienzo's theory is correct based on what happened with Hitsugaya, a wayfinder should work." Kisuke agreed. "Even better, if she's not in Kingdom Hearts, she'll be wandering around to find you, meaning she might be on a world you've been to, seeking you out. That would narrow down the search."

"Yes! And then we just need that pirate, right?"

"Hopefully, if your zanpaktou is still in a survivable state. It's been years, who knows what might have corrupted her."

"Then let's go!"

Admiring the man's enthusiasm, Kisuke set to work.

Moving is so stressful my goodness. Also, I'm thinking of going back to the first kingdom shinigami and cleaning it up a bit as well as maybe changing some parts to better fit how this story has progressed, especially with new info from the Union X finale and other research. I'm picking away at this story bit by bit still but i really want to fix the old stuff too. I'm almost done moving so hopefully i can find some time to write again.
