Five minutes later, everyone in Rhodes Island, led by the Skyfire, arrived at the Ursus soldiers camp 100 meters away from them. The rain continued to rage away unabated.

As Skyfire had said, more than twenty Ursus soldiers including SilverSword, had all but vanished into thin air from the main tent where they should have been.

"They really ran away," Matoimaru stared at the empty shore. She pierced her sword into the ground, and said uncomfortably "Those guys left just like that? They didn't even notify us."

Lin Ye looked at Magallan and asked "Can you contact SilverSword, Magallan?"

She nodded, "I'll give it a try."

Where are they?

Lin Ye thought to himself.

"It's not just the Ursus," Skyfire's face was pale in the moonlight as she also mentioned "I haven't seen anyone else around either. Everyone from the other factions have just disappeared without a trace, there's no one in sight."

"Is that so?" Lin Ye said before pondering on what could have caused the disappearances.

He then took out his mobile phone and said to Skyfire, "Don't be afraid, I'll call Swire and ask what's going on. You go and contact Yumeng, can anyone contact the Sunset Chamber of Commerce?"

"Afraid...? I am not afraid" Skyfire retaliated as she tried to feign a calm expression, "I just think it's strange, how can everyone disappear without making a sound?"

While Skyfire was explaining what happened, Matoimaru casually brought up her thoughts of nowhere, "I remember that the townspeople in Harlan Town also disappeared overnight, right? Dr. Lin Ye, you don't think that something similar happened to them too?"

Matoimaru's sudden relation made Skyfire's already pale face become paler, no, it made everyone else's face paler too. After all, what she said may have been true.

"Let's not talk about that now," Lin Ye's grip on his phone tightened, "Try to contact them first, that's our first priority."

After speaking, he called Swire's number.

Beep*

He noticed that his phone continued to display no signal as he tried again and again.

"I can't get through," Lin Ye exclaimed as he slammed his phone on the table and sighed heavily, "We can't communicate with the others while the typhoons are in the area. Is the nearby signal base station destroyed?"

Magallan also reported back to him. She shook her head and told him "I can't seem to get in touch with Mr. SilverSword either."

"Did you use your phone Magallan? Try using the radio instead," Lin Ye said, "The radio should give us a slightly better chance of getting through to them."

"... Well, let me try again then," Magallan replied as she took out a radio communicator and tried again. Everyone waited anxiously on the side as they prayed for some success.

Rustle*

All of a sudden there was a rustling sound heard in the tent. Everyone followed the reverberation of the sound, and found that the sound came from one of the sleeping bags.

Blue Poison immediately moved forward and opened the sleeping bag. Then her eyes widened in surprise and declared to the other what she had found.

"Mr. SilverSword didn't take the radio communicator with him," She simply took the communicator out of the sleeping bag and presented it to the others, "Because it's right here."

Magallan put the radio that was in her hands down. Her voice was low, but still loud enough for the others to barely hear.

"If he didn't bring the communicator...Then there's really no way to contact them."

Matoimaru asked "Is SilverSword really that careless?"

"No, it doesn't make sense," Lin Ye observed the radio in Blue Poison's hand, "SilverSword is a true Ursus soldier. Logically speaking, he would never leave his communication device behind when heading out. It totally goes against what he would do, and with how bad the weather is, he would not be that careless."

Matoimaru glanced at Lin Ye "Then what do you think happened?"

Lin Ye was not that smart. He could only make assumptions. In conclusion, he just said "Let's go to the LGD's camp first. Skyfire, do you know where the tent is?"

Skyfire just affirmed by giving him a nod .

"Do you need to keep someone here?" Magallan inquired, " Maybe they'll come back? In that case, why not leave someone behind?"

Immediately after Magallan had finished voicing her proposition, Lin Ye shot her opinion down ordaining

"No, absolutely not."

Does she never watch movies! Splitting up is the worst thing to do right now!

"We still don't know what happened. Before we can figure out the truth of the matter, we cannot let people act alone. Did you forget our experience that night, Magallan."

After that, Magallan stops talking. Even Matoimaru became serious. Frostleaf put down her headphones while Blue Poison approved .

"What happened to you that night?" Skyfire eyed Lin Ye, "Why won't you tell me?"

"If necessary, we will tell you," Lin Ye spoke, "But I agree with Magallan's initial proposal. We should monitor every tent but we can't use people. Magallan, can you use your drones here? Can you control them under these conditions?"

Magallan thought for a while and nodded "No problem. My drones can stay here, even in this weather. I can still control them around this small town."

"Let's do that then," Lin Ye confirmed, "Leave a drone here, and then follow us to the Lungmen camp."

Without wasting any more time, they left the camp. Before going, Magallan took a drone out of her backpack. She then activated it and left it at the Ursus camp.

After walking in the rain for about two hundred meters, they finally arrived at the Lungmen Guards Department tent.

Just as Skyfire said, there was no one in the tent. More than a dozen Lungmen Guards Department officers, including Swire, were missing.

"It's the same situation over here," Lin Ye looked at the camp and raised his brow.

Matoimaru went straight to another camp's tent. It was obviously impolite to go through other people's things without their permission, but in this case, it didn't matter.

Lin Ye hoped that the LDG was hiding somewhere. Swire would jump out and accuse them and everything would be fine. Of course his expectations were snubbed as they found nobody or nothing of note.

Matoimaru also found several radio communicators in several sleeping bags. Lin Ye knew that Swire was not that careless to leave such important equipment behind.

"Something must have happened here," Lin Ye studied at the camp.

"It's the same with the Sunset Chamber of Commerce," Blue Poison reported back to him.

"But what happened?" Matoimaru raised her brow at him, "The two camps are only a few hundred meters away from us. What really happened? How could we have been so oblivious to our surroundings?"

Before Lin Ye could speak, he saw Frostleaf walking over to him with a cup of coffee in her hand.

"Wow, even now you can still find the time to have a drink", Matoimaru asked "Are you that thirsty?"

Frostleaf glanced at Matoimaru, but remained silent. She then held out the coffee to Lin Ye. He raised his brow at this, "Is it for me?".

"It wasn't for you to drink," Frostleaf said lightly, "I found it just now. Try touching it."

Touch it?

Lin Ye managed to grasp the meaning behind her words and grabbed the cup. As expected, there was still some residual heat left.

"The coffee has not completely cooled, which means that it was brewed not long ago" Frostleaf started with a long string of words. It was very rare for her to be so forthcoming verbally.

"Although there's a lid on it to prevent the rapid loss of heat, it can't last that long in this weather. The owner must have made this probably 20 to 30 minutes ago."

"Twenty or thirty minutes ago" Lin Ye couldn't help but look at Skyfire.

She seemed to be able to perceive why he was looking at her, as her facial expression became perplexed, "I was here twenty or thirty minutes ago, you mean... the people from the Lungmen left when I came here?"

"Yeah," Frostleaf nodded, "It's very likely that just as soon as you came here, they walked away."

"But how is that possible?" Skyfire looked flustered, "I didn't see them at all".

"In such a poor visibility environment, as long as they were not too close to you, it would be difficult for you to see them" She explained to her.

Frostleaf looked towards Lin Ye, "And in this environment, even if it's only twenty minutes, they couldn't have gone too far. We can try to go out and find them."

Lin Ye immediately shook his head "No, we don't know where they were going. How is it possible to find them?".

Blue Poison glanced at Magallan "Is it possible to use a drone?"

Magallan weakly protested "My drones are not waterproof. I'm sorry."

"I understand," Blue Poison acknowledged.

Lin Ye studied the coffee in the cup and spoke softly "If someone did make this coffee, why does it look like no one drank it? Did something urgent happen?"

"It must have been an emergency," Frostleaf replied, "All the signs here indicate that the LGD intended to take a rest. The owner of this cup returned the coffee after brewing it and closed the lid, which means they were not in a hurry to drink this cup of coffee."

Lin Ye realized what she was trying to say, and nodded "So something happened around the time they made this coffee."

Frostleaf affirmed what Lin Ye had guessed.

At this time, Matoimaru gave her own thoughts on the matter "However no matter what the emergency is, it's impossible to suddenly not have enough time to even bring the communicator with them, right? Look over there, there are several of them. They didn't even bring their weapons."

"Yeah, that is weird," Lin Ye sighed.

He wanted to find Swire's sleeping bag and see if he could find some clues from the senior superintendent. At this time he saw Skyfire from the corner of his eye, she was alone. She didn't seem to be acting like her normal self.

She was holding her shoulders tightly. Her body was trembling ever so slightly, and her face was full of fear.

Lin Ye frowned at this.

How could she be so afraid of this? It doesn't make sense.

Although what happened tonight was indeed abnormal, Skyfire shouldn't be like that. She was not the timid kind . Her reaction is too intense.

Is it because...

Lin Ye thought of something and then walked straight to her side.

Everyone else looked at him but did not say a word.

When he was next to her, Skyfire raised her head and looked at Lin Ye. Then she asked in a timid voice that he could barely hear "What are you doing?"

Lin Ye did not speak but slowly raised his hand. Then he grabbed her hand abruptly.

Skyfire was startled and was about to go wild on him. She then suddenly felt that when Lin Ye's hand touched hers, a burst of warmth sprung up inside her. She couldn't help but be stunned by this.

Lin Ye also found the fear in Skyfire's eyes dissipating little by little.

Thought so.

When all of this was happening, nobody saw Maple emitting a faint white glow.
