Little Finn is my original character, but I don't own MacGyver or CSI.

Spoilers for MacGyver 5x05. And you might want to read my other crossover stories with Mac, Jack and Nick. Long story short, Jack and Nick are twins.

As much as I loved Jack + Kinematics + Safe Cracker + MgKNO3 + GTO, I am still holding out hope that Jack is alive (this is my world and welcome to it). But I wondered...since Mac met Jack's brother in my stories, what might happen if Mac introduced him to Riley? Here's what I came up with. Hope you enjoy...And pretty please review!

It had been a week since they returned from finding the real Kovac. Three weeks since the worst news any of them ever got. Riley sat at Mac's dining room table looking over condolence cards and flowers. She was in a daze as she looked over the various messages from people who loved Jack. She still couldn't believe she'd never again see the man who became her father.

She was brought out her daze when she heard Mac talking on his phone. "Yeah," he said with a nod. "I really appreciate it. Thanks, Matty." He hung up and turned his attention to the beautiful woman. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah," Riley said automatically. Both of them knew they were far from okay.

Riley looked back at the flowers and found a small bouquet of yellow roses for Mac. Frowning, she picked up the card and read it.

Mac, thank you for being Jack's brother when I couldn't. Call me if you need anything. Nick.

Mac pursed his lips as Riley frowned. "What's this?" Riley asked.

Sighing, Mac said, "That is why I asked Matty for time off."

Confused, Riley asked, "Time off for what? Who's Nick?"

Mac sat down and took a deep breath. "I told you I talked to Jack's sister, right?"

"Yeah, on the plane home."

"Well," Mac said with a sigh. "She explained Nick couldn't come to the service. But I called and told him about Jack."

Riley shook her head. "O...kay, who is Nick?"

Meeting Riley's eyes, Mac said, "Jack's brother."

Riley's eyes widened. "Brother?"

Holding her gaze, Mac said, "I first met Nick about nine years ago, when Jack and I took our first manniversary trip to Vegas. He's a CSI there."

"A what?"

"Yeah," Mac said. He chuckled softly. "I looked down the hall from our room to see a CSI working a crime scene. That was him. I honestly thought it was Jack at first."

Riley smiled softly. "Looks like him, huh?"

"You can say that," Mac said. "Anyway, his name is Nick Stokes. He's the head of the grave shift at the L.V.P.D. Crime Lab. Jack changed his name when he became a Delta to keep his family safe."

Riley nodded numbly, still reeling from the news. "A scientist, huh?"

Mac smiled. "Yeah."

"So he'd get along with you," she said with a soft smile.

"Yeah," Mac said. "But he loved Jack, too." He took her hand. "And...I'm taking you to meet him."

Riley blinked. "What?"

Mac smiled thoughtfully. "Matty is giving us some time off to go see Nick."

"Yeah?"

"I told Matty that I think Jack would want us to do this," Mac explained. He needed closure as much as she did.

Riley raised an eyebrow. "You sure Desi won't mind letting you out of her sight?" She knew how troublesome his and Desi's relationship could be.

Mac nodded. He wasn't thrilled at the prospect of facing Desi's wrath at her not going on this trip with them, but he had to do this for Riley. "Matty is putting her on an assignment with Russ. She's not happy about that, but I explained this is something we need to do. Just us."

Riley's heart fluttered at the thought of a road trip with Mac. "Okay," she said as a smile came to her face. "When do we leave?"

"As soon as you can pack," Mac said.

"Okay," Riley said. "I still have some stuff here." As she stood, Mac grabbed her hand.

"Before you do...I should tell you..."

Riley stopped. "What is it, Mac?"

Sighing, Mac took his phone and opened it to a picture of Nick. Handing the phone to Riley, he said, "He's not just his brother."

Riley's eyes narrowed as she took Mac's phone. She looked at the picture and her eyes widened. She gasped in disbelief.

"Oh, my God!"

Mac sighed quietly as Riley stared at the picture of the CSI.

"Nick is Jack's twin," he simply said.

Tears came to Riley's eyes as she looked at the picture of the man who looked so much like the man they missed. After several agonizing moments, she softly said, "Jack had a twin?"

Mac smiled thoughtfully. "Yeah. He's a cool guy. Fixed us barbecue and showed us around Vegas the first time we visited. He and Jack talked about cars while I could talk to him about science."

A tearful laugh escaped from Riley. "He sounds cool."

"Yeah," Mac said with a thoughtful smile. "He is a little like Jack. He likes classic rock and movies. He's not quite as big a Bruce Willis fan, though." Mac and Riley both chuckled.

Hesitantly, Mac took a step forward. "And...I told him about you."

Riley looked up as a tear rolled down her cheek. "Yeah?"

Mac smiled softly. "I told him you were like a daughter to Jack. And...he wants to meet you."

"He does?" Riley asked in a soft voice.

Mac nodded. "He said he understands if you don't want to see him. But he knows Jack loved you. And he really wants to meet you."

Riley took a deep breath. She missed Jack, but the idea of meeting his twin intrigued her.

"Let's go."
