Chapter V

Percy had woken up sluggishly the morning of the general entrance exam for U.A. He wasn't up particularly late the night before, but his conversation with Rat Satan and the other staff in regards to the Recommendation students had gone longer than he had anticipated. Of course, the unnecessary questioning of his ability from Vlad King (Percy called him "Vampire Bulldog") tacked on an additional 30 minutes, but once he showed that he could manipulate the hero's quirk with the same proficiency and toyed with him in a quirkless spar, the man relented.

Nezu's overly cheerful disposition about Percy probably swayed the man too considering Rat Satan was his boss after all.

Either way, the Recommendation students were fairly impressive for mortals, Percy supposed. They weren't forced to fight to survive like he was, so it was hard to truly impress him, but once he factored in and acknowledged that fact, they weren't half bad.

The kid with the wind ability reminded him of a cross between Jason and Leo that made his heart ache slightly. Yoarashi Inasa was a bulky young man with a shaved head and far too much energy for Percy's liking, but he had impressive control over his wind quirk in regards to his movement. Percy didn't get to judge his combat ability, but he had little doubts about the passionate kid's ability.

The only issue Percy found with the kid was his seemingly unprovoked hatred of another examinee. Percy wasn't privy to the history between the two and considering the way the other boy reacted to the situation, he wasn't sure there even was any. Regardless, Percy wasn't one to throw stones from his own glass castle and told the staff that whatever the issue was could easily be resolved within the first year or sooner should they both attend U.A.

The other boy - Todoroki Shoto - was who Percy had any real issues with. For starters, Todoroki's ice quirk was admittedly powerful and impressive, but he either lacked fine control over it or blatantly ignored using it. That was fine for the four kilometer race that made up the physical portion, but if it was the city where he was operating then he likely caused thousands or tens of thousands of yen in property damage and clean up.

Percy decided to cut him a little slack when he was told that his old man was the walking dumpster fire and collateral damage hazard of a number two hero. He had never interacted with Endeavor, but Percy could tell right away that they wouldn't get along. The man was arrogant, brash, and cared very little for anything other than his total number of cases resolved and his permanent place behind All Might.

Percy also thought that fact that he walked around on fire was completely idiotic.

The reason Percy had an issue with the young Todoroki was because he was holding back during the physical exam. Again, Percy couldn't quite throw stones from his glass castle, but Percy had already proved himself more than capable to both Aizawa and Nezu. Todoroki was competing for a spot at U.A. and Percy was in the firm belief that had the kid simply froze the ground in front of him and used his flames to boost his speed, he would've won the race instead of losing to Yoarashi at the last moment.

Tartarus had taught Percy many things, but the most important thing was that people die when you hold back. If Todoroki was serious about being a hero, then he couldn't afford to hold back. Otherwise he would either get himself or others killed.

It was when Percy saw the look in Todoroki's eyes - the unwavering hatred and underneath that, the pain - that Percy began to understand. The hatred and pain and the fact that the kid actively avoided using his fire made it pretty clear.

The Todoroki household wasn't all sunshine and rainbows.

The rest of the examinees that caught Percy's eye would typically fall into support roles. Yaoyorozu Momo was a raven-haired brainiac that could create any non-living material from her lipids as long as she knew the atomic structure. Despite rather obvious self confidence issues likely from a sheltered life, Percy believed that her support in both villain capture and rescue would be invaluable with time.

Tokage Setsuna was a green haired flirt that could split her body into pieces and control them separately. Her athleticism aside, Percy thought her ability for reconnaissance would be where she shined. Honenuki Juzo had the most interesting appearance with his gums and teeth exposed, but his "softening" quirk would be perfect for villain capture and civilian rescue. He needed to work on his mobility though.

Regardless, Percy thought they all had potential like his adoptive father did. So with one last heavy sigh, Percy finished getting dressed, strapped his kodachi to his back, and headed downstairs to grab a coffee before he headed out to observe the general exams.

LINEBREAK

Midoriya Izuku was nervous. The start of his hero journey was today and he was internally panicking. He knew he was ready logically, but he couldn't fight off the nerves that continued to well up in his very being the previous night and all that morning. Even so, he forced himself to take a deep breath right at the entrance of his dream school.

"OUTTA THE FUCKING WAY DEKU!" a painfully familiar voice screamed out to him and startled him at the suddenness of it. Ironically, it was the short tempered, foul-mouthed sneer of Bakugo that calmed him down. It reminded him exactly what he was there for and converted the nerves into determination.

Regaining himself, Midoriya turned slightly to look at the fuming Pomeranian. "Bakugo," he said and stepped out of the way. He wasn't scared; not anymore anyways, but he didn't want to deal with Bakugo any more than necessary.

As Bakugo passed, Midoriya shook any irrelevant thoughts from his head and took his first steps toward his hero career.

Unfortunately, he tripped over a brick and was going to fall on his face.

'I can hear Percy laughing at me already,' Midoriya internally grumbled to himself before he realized that he was no longer falling.

"Eh?"

"Sorry for using my quirk on you without asking," a sweet voice from behind him called out and he turned as best he could to get a look at his savior.

The savior turned out to be a cute girl with honey brown hair styled in a bobcut. Her eyes were an even warmer brown, and she had a permanent blush on her face. Midoriya was so caught up in his observations that he almost missed her next words.

"I figured it'd be bad luck to fall on such a big day," she finished with a cheery closed eye smile. The smile made Midoriya blush something fierce.

He may have gotten over most of his social anxiety thanks to Percy, but let it be known that Midoriya Izuku could not talk to a girl to save his life. As such, he continued to stare at the girl while retaining his blush.

"Well, we better get going! Don't want to be late. Good luck!" she called out and hurried off into the building to take the exams, leaving Midoriya to stand there for a moment longer.

'I-I… I talked to a girl!' Midoriya cheered in his head without ever realizing that he never actually said a word. He was just lucky Percy wasn't around to tease him.

LINEBREAK

The written exam was well underway when Percy arrived in the Observation Room. The staff, with the exception of the written exam proctors, were already present and finishing setting up their seats for the physical portion. Luckily for Percy, Cement Samurai (Cementoss) was there and Percy got him to set up two concrete posts. The teachers didn't even bat an eye, already used to the Aizawa's and their sleeping habits.

Eraserhead had his banana yellow sleeping bag. Percy had settled on his Camp Half-Blood orange hammock.

"Good morning, Percy-kun," Nezu said just as Percy got comfortable, making the demigod crack open an eyelid.

"Rat Satan," he greeted evenly before Nezu gave him the rundown of what to expect.

There was around 20 minutes left in the written before the physical would occur. The physical consisted of robots of varying points scattered throughout the city that the examinees would seek and destroy to accumulate enough villain points to pass. Apparently, there was an additional point system (Rescue points) for those examinees who assisted each other, but they purposely didn't voice their existence.

The final aspect of the physical exam was the 0-Point robot that was to serve as an obstacle to prevent examinees from obtaining points. Since there was only one per sight, Percy was able to gather that it's much more difficult than the others in some way.

Percy didn't ask, but after spending so much time with Rat Satan, he guessed it was bigger than the others. Nezu hated being reminded of his height after all.

It was after they finished their discussion that all of the staff minus Mic gathered in the room with them. It was almost showtime.

LINEBREAK

"WHAT'S UP LISTENERS! I'LL BE YOUR DJ TODAY! CAN I GET A 'YEAH'?!" Present Mic shouted only to receive dead silence from the gathered examinees. Of course that didn't stop Midoriya from fanboying in his head.

'Ohmygod! It's Present Mic! I listen to his radio show all the time and I can't believe he's really here!'

Luckily, Midoriya didn't mumble those thoughts, both out of fear of breaking the silence and annoyance of pissing off Bakugo more. It wasn't his fault that they were forced to sit by school.

"KEEPING IT CALM. I GOTCHA! I'M HERE TO EXPLAIN THE RULES OF THE PRACTICAL! CAN I GET A 'HEY'?!" Mic tried again with no success and proceeded to explain the practical.

There were three robots of one, two, and three points that increased in difficulty with the point value. A finite number or robots were present in each site along with a time limit, and the goal was to destroy enough of them to pass. As he was reading the pamphlet, half listening to Present Mic, Midoriya came across the fourth robot. A 0-Point robot that was to serve as an obstacle to avoid at all costs.

'Using even 5% of OFA would probably be enough, but I don't just want to pass; I want to excel. I'll stay around 10% and use 15% in bursts if I need it. They only talk about villain points; does that mean that there are other kinds of points?' Midoriya mused to himself, but unfortunately, he mumbled that string of thoughts out loud.

"Excuse me!" an uptight voice sounded out and snapped Midoriya out of his thoughts.

"You said there are four robots, but you only mentioned three on the pamphlet. If this is a misprint, then U.A. should be ashamed!" the tall boy with glasses and well groomed blue hair addressed before he turned and looked right at Midoriya.

"And you! You've been muttering this whole time! If you're not going to pay attention, then you should leave. This test is to be taken seriously!" he exclaimed and Midoriya ignored the snickers at his expense.

"I'm sorry for muttering. I was planning my strategy and was doing it unconsciously. There isn't a misprint; the fourth robot is on the back toward the bottom. You also interrupted Present Mic. I'm sure he was just about to explain the fourth robot," Midoriya said and sat back down, ignoring the rigid boy.

"HE'S RIGHT! THE FOURTH ROBOT IS AN ARENA TRAP! YOU' D BE BETTER OFF AVOIDING IT LIKE THOSE THWOMPS FROM SUPER MARIO!" Present Mic clarified to pacify the boy.

Without any more questions, the examinees all separated to their exam sites via bus and were standing before the gates to the city.

Midoriya began stretching shortly after they had arrived to prepare his body for the carnage that would ensue. While he was doing so, he spotted the nice girl that caught him before he tripped earlier and debated going to thank her.

Ultimately, he noticed Present Mic approaching a podium near the gate and decided to thank her after the exam while he powered up OFA throughout his body. The other examinees noticed his quirk becoming active and were confused. All except the same uptight blue headed boy who was going to scold him for trying to intimidate the other examinees.

However, he never got the chance to as the gates slowly began to open and Present Mic called for the exam to begin. Midoriya was off like a rocket at Present Mic's words through the gates, further confusing his peers.

"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! THERE ARE NO COUNTDOWNS IN REAL LIFE! GO GO GO!" Present Mic shouted and the panic masses followed after Midoriya.

LINEBREAK

Percy allowed a small smirk to grace his face at the sight of his shrub headed friend launching himself through the gate before everyone else. He was certain the kid was going to be just fine, but he took satisfaction in how his little brother was excelling among the others.

With nothing more to worry about, he turned his attention to the other participants and began to analyze all he could about them. It was clear that not all of them had as much training as Midoriya and the recommendation students, but most of them were decently versed in using their quirks for the test.

"So many enemies and some are able to discern where they are," Ectoplasm said as they watched a boy with six arms change them to eyes and ears to scout out robots.

"Some are using their mobility to traverse the landscape quickly, racking up points as they go," Aizawa said as the uptight blue headed brat with engines in his calves kicked another 2-point robot.

"Some have pure combat ability," Vampire Bulldog added as the screen shifted to the pomeranian with a feral smile on his face and robot corpses in his wake. Percy rolled his eyes at that before the screen shifted to his little brother kicking the joints of a 1-Point robot before flipping over the missile of a 3-Point robot.

"We have quite the crop this year," BDSM-lady said as he licked her lips and reminded Percy of Aphrodite. He suppressed a shudder.

"Indeed. What do you think, Percy-kun? Any that stand out?" Nezu asked and Percy typed into the keyboard in front of him, seemingly thrilled that he could actually use technology.

"Shinso Hitoshi. Quirk: Brainwash. Someone who responds to his prompts falls under his control," Percy said before his score appeared, making the others frown.

"He doesn't nearly have enough to pass," Space Cowboy said before Percy continued.

"He applied to General Studies as well which shows he's committed enough to being a hero that he came up with a backup plan. His quirk is powerful and incredibly useful for hero work," Percy told them and got a few nods.

"The only issue is, he only trained his quirk. A quirk-reliant hero is a dead hero. Regardless, he has potential."

When nobody added anything, Percy pulled up another applicant profile. "Mineta Minoru. Quirk: Pop-off. The orbs on his head can be plucked and they are incredibly adhesive to anyone that isn't him; the opposite is true if he touches them. He bounces off," Percy began and the staff nodded.

"His quirk isn't anything special at first glance, but it would be incredibly useful for villain captures, traps, and ambushes. The issue is with his personality and attitude," Percy told them and some of the staff raised an eyebrow to prompt him to continue.

"He's been openly ogling every girl that's taking the exam with no regard for discretion when I can guarantee that more than half of them could put his ass in the ground," Percy explained and a few lightbulbs went off in their heads.

"Should he pass, and it looks like he will, we'll have to keep an eye on him. The last thing we need is a sexual harassment case or worse," Aizawa muttered to agreement from the others.

"Anyone else, Percy-kun?" Nezu asked to receive Percy typing away in reply.

"Bakugo Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku," Percy said with both applications and scores displayed on the screen.

"Didn't you go to junior high with those two? Isn't that a little biased?" Cement Samurai asked while the others turned to look at Percy.

"Yes, and there might be slight bias, but the fact remains that I know these two's personalities better than anyone else at the moment," Percy explained and got nods for him to continue.

"Two sides of the same coin; Bakugo believes being a hero means always winning the fight against the villain. His battle instincts we've seen are nothing short of prodigious, and he has more than enough points to pass," Percy began before changing gears.

"Midoriya, on the other hand, believes that saving people is what being a hero means. He's clearly trained and uses his own style effectively to take down villain bots. He also has gathered some rescue points already."

The heroes digested Percy's words before Mic spoke up. "I'm sensing a 'but'."

"But, Bakugo is arrogant and brash. His quirk is already destructive and so far hasn't displayed any conscious effort to reduce collateral damage. He already believes he's the best, has not gathered any rescue points, and I can guarantee he will finish the exam without doing so," Percy said and ignored his adoptive father's grimace.

"And Midoriya?" Nezu asked, already gathering the same things Percy had.

"Midoriya is, at times, unbearably naive and idealistic. He grew up idolizing heroes so much that it can, at times, cause him to struggle with his own identity as a hero in training. Using ideas and similar techniques from heroes is fine, but trying to be said hero will end badly in the end. On top of that, he's still of the belief that he can save everyone. He hasn't been exposed to the reality of hero work yet," Percy finished and got grimaces from all of the heroes gathered that time.

"And you have?" Vlad King asked in a blunt, but not necessarily antagonistic tone.

"I've failed to save a loved one right in front of me when I was a kid, yes. I might not have been a hero or even a hero in training, but I know that not everyone can be saved," Percy told the man while making eye contact. Vlad was satisfied with what he saw because he dropped the topic.

"Excellent. Thank you for your analysis, Percy-kun. Now let's see what they do when there's a real threat," Nezu said with a feral smile as he flipped the glass protector off of the red button and slammed it down.

LINEBREAK

Midoriya was having the time of his life zipping around the mock city destroying robots. Normally, he wasn't one for violence; he usually tried to resolve all of his issues without it unnecessarily. However, using OFA to hit multiple robots that couldn't dodge or block with nary a thought was making him feel fantastic.

He felt like he was finally at the same starting line as his peers and that his training had paid off and then some. He hadn't totally been keeping track of how many points he had, but he was certain it was more than enough to pass. He'd gotten a little too excited seeing the fruits of his labor firsthand and had stopped counting. He knew he at least had 50 points and he had even helped a few of the other participants out of a jam, not that he knew that those actions were worth points as well.

Midoriya had just destroyed another bot when the ground started shaking rapidly, almost throwing the boy off balance. The panicked shouts had reached his ears when he saw everyone running away. Before he could even question it, a building down the street from where he was exploded into rubble and Midoriya had gotten his answer.

"T-That's the 0-Point robot?!" he screeched in panic as the "arena trap" stood to its full height and towered over the surrounding buildings. Midoriya's primal "fight or flight" response triggered and he turned to haul ass out of the way until a girl's cry caught his attention.

"O-Ow. H-Help!" the voice screeched in pain and panic and Midoriya whipped around to find the source. It was the nice girl that kept him from tripping earlier that morning.

Time seemed to slow down around him and Midoriya was completely ignorant of the people looking at him as they passed by. He was ignorant of the fact that the robot had malfunctioned and was no longer detecting the girl. All he knew is that he needed to save her.

Luckily, he didn't have to do it alone.

LINEBREAK

Nezu enjoyed the chaos that ensued after the release of the 0-Point robots far too much for Percy's liking, but he chose not to comment. Instead, he looked for any examinees who at least had the grace to look for anyone that needed help.

He was pleasantly surprised to find there were a handful of them and was sure the staff caught on to them as well. Unfortunately, the pleasantries didn't last as he laid eyes on his little brother standing frozen at the sight of the 0-Point robot. Frowning in confusion, he looked closer and noticed the girl that was trapped in the rubble.

'It's not stopping,' he thought before he vanished into a sea spray right as the alert sounded.

"Malfunction in Exam Site B! The 0-Pointer doesn't see the girl trapped and it's not stopping!" Powerloader exclaimed, but before even All Might could buff up, Nezu raised a paw.

"It's fine," he said and the teachers looked at him in horror before Aizawa elaborated.

"Problem Child already left."

The professional heroes were a little ashamed to admit they didn't notice his absence.

LINEBREAK

'I can't make it in time at just 15% and I don't have enough experience to judge if 20% would be enough. If that's the case, then I'll need to take that thing out with a 100% smash. I can deal with the injury la-,' Midoriya mused rapidly in his head as he powered up his quirk, only to stop when he heard a familiar voice.

"Bush Head," Percy called to him and he whipped his head around, but Percy wasn't even looking at him. Instead, he hardened his gaze at the behemoth source of their problem.

"Up your output to 25%. It'll cause strain and potential fractures, but Granny will fix those easy enough. Get the girl out of there and haul ass. I got the bot," Percy told him with no room for argument.

"Right," Midoriya hardened his own gaze and upped the percentage of OFA, increasing the erratic electrical discharge around his body. It hurt more than he'd care to admit, but the adrenaline flowing through his system negated that thought immediately as he vanished from Percy's side toward the nice girl.

Percy took his own leisurely gait forward toward the robot with his right hand resting on the pommel of his kodachi. As he strolled, he gathered the water in the plumbing to center underneath the robot and slowly lifted his left hand.

The 0-Pointers arm began its descent as Midoriya kicked the rubble to pieces, grabbed the nice girl into a bridal carry, and lowered his quirk output to 15% to avoid worsening any injuries. Midoriya was focused on the rescue, but the girl looked at the 0-Pointer in fear only for it to turn to shock.

Tendrils of water seemingly materialized around the limb, locking it from moving any further. Before anyone could question how and where they and the newcomer came from, the asphalt beneath the arena trap erupted into a geyser that kept flowing until the 0-Pointer was encased in water.

With the clenching of his left hand into a fist, the water froze around the robot, effectively shutting it down. Satisfied with his work, Percy put his left hand back into his pocket and headed toward Midoriya, completely ignoring the gawking examinees and Mic's announcement for the exam's end.

"How bad?" Percy asked and Midoriya gave out a tired and pained chuckle.

"Hurts a lot. Likely strains, tears, and maybe a few smaller fractures," Midoriya told him and Percy nodded.

"Debris probably knocked the sensors out of line and the thing didn't see her. Good job," Percy told him with a few shoulder pats before he walked away.

"Who the hell was that?" a random participant said aloud, but no one had answers.

LINEBREAK

Following the entrance exam, Percy joined the Midoriya's for dinner as a celebration and to tell the bush head that they would be taking the waiting period for results to be sent out off of training. It was a week of agonizing boredom for Midoriya since Percy refused to tell him anything on Aizawa's orders, and since All Might was completely radio silent.

Alas, once the results came back, Midoriya was surprised to find out that his mentor would be teaching at U.A. and that he had placed first overall in the exam with a total of 66 Villain Points and 30 Rescue Points for saving the nice girl. Unfortunately for their neighbors, Percy wasn't present to prevent the Mirodiya's from drowning the apartment complex in their tears.

A couple weeks went by and found Percy and Midoriya meeting up at the gate of U.A. for their first day of school. Naturally, Percy got Rat Satan to sign off on carrying his sword as a part of his uniform that he didn't wear to crisp perfection like his little brother. Instead, Percy had the tie loosened slightly around his neck with the top two buttons unfastened and his coat unbuttoned as well.

As they walked to their class room, they exchanged pleasantries about how they'd spent their downtime and before they knew it, they had arrived at their classes door to the sound of shouting.

Midoriya let out a heavy sigh, making Percy pat him on the back sympathetically before they opened the door.

"Get your feet off the desk! It's incredibly disrespectful to our predecessors who studied at this esteemed academy before us!" the same blue haired boy that gave Midoriya a hard time at the exam nearly shouted at Bakugo while moving his arms in a robot motion.

"Did you put that stick up your ass or did someone do it for you?!" Bakugo retorted, making Percy chuckle at the opportunity that presented itself.

"Ne, Pomeranian-kun. I always had my suspicions but saying something like that, does that mean you're coming out? I'm so proud of you!" Percy said as he slapped Bakugo's feet off of the desk while he walked by.

He got a few snickers, but didn't pay them or Bakugo's growling any mind as he settled into his seat, leaving Midoriya to his doom at the hands of the blue robot boy.

"I am Iida Tenya from Somei Private Academy. I wish to apologize for my behavior at the exam, for I misjudged you. You interpreted the true meaning of the test and you are my better," Iida said with wild hand-chopping motions and a bow.

"Err. I didn't notice it. I just knew I had to get her out of there," Midoriya said as he rubbed the back of his head and ignored Bakugo's glare. Before he could go take his seat, another familiar voice called out to him.

"I recognize that curly green hair! You're the one who saved me from the 0-Pointer!" she called out as Midoriya turned around and blushed at how close she was.

"Thank you so much! I'm Uraraka Ochaco!" Uraraka introduced herself and Midoriya began to blush and stammer, telling her it was no big deal. Percy snickered at his little brother's embarrassment from his seat as his adoptive father slithered into the room.

"If you're just here to make friends, then pack up and leave. This is the hero course," he said, calling attention to himself while he was still in his sleeping bag. Most of the class tilted their heads in confusion until Percy took pity on them.

"I'm pretty sure he's our teacher. You might wanna get to your seats now," Percy said and those still standing scrambled as quickly as they could.

Aizawa just stood up and unzipped his sleeping bag a little bit before continuing.

"It took most of you eight seconds to shut up. That's irrational. My name is Aizawa Shouta and I am your home room teacher," he said as he met each student's gaze before he reached into his sleeping bag and pulled out the gym uniforms.

"Put these on and meet me at the training grounds in 10 minutes," he told them, only for Percy to move and pluck up a uniform on his way out, only followed by Midoriya moments later before the rest of the class followed suit.

They exchanged greetings and introductions in the locker room where Iida tried to reprimand Percy for his sword, only to be shot down as Percy told him he got it approved from the principal, and an energetic boy named Kirishima complimented both Percy and Midoriya's physique. After that was done, they quickly headed out to the grounds curious about what they were doing.

"A quirk assessment test?!" the majority of the class shouted in surprise before they began to complain about the orientation and other welcome activities. Aizawa shot those down immediately and called Bakugo up to demonstrate the ball throw.

With a loud explosion and a shout of, "Die!" the ball finally rested, revealing the distance of 705.2 meters. Naturally, being able to use quirks in a classroom setting had the majority of the students excited for their own turns.

Unfortunately, they had Aizawa as a teacher.

"Fun? Do you think hero work is fun?" Aizawa asked scathingly and enjoyed how most of them paled. "Let's make it fun. Whoever comes in last place is expelled," he told them and internally groaned at the noisy protests.

"But we worked so hard! That's not fair!" Uraraka exclaimed, but Percy answered.

"The world isn't fair. Villains don't play fair and natural disasters aren't fair either. It's a hero's job to fight against the unfairness anyways, so innocent civilians don't have to," Percy told them and got a nod from his adoptive father.

"He's right. That's the career you're all stepping into. If you can't hack it, then pack up and go home. Otherwise, show me everything you've got, Plus Ultra style," Aizawa finished with a creepy grin. With expulsion threats were revealed, and the tests got underway with the 50 meter dash.

Percy found some of the ways his classmates applied their quirks to be impressive, but the scores were necessarily bad or good. He took great satisfaction in Midoriya blowing Bakugo's 4.34 seconds out of the water with his 2.03 seconds. Percy himself scored 1.96 seconds using "Overdrive" and dropped a lot of jaws.

The rest of the tests went more or less the same with Percy and Midoriya sitting at the top spots until finally the ball throw came around.

Midoriya went first and thought about how to perform the test, before he ultimately decided to charge his OFA output to his maximum percentage, then pushed one more percentage to his arm and launched the ball. With a huge gust of wind that pushed back the unprepared classmates, he scored 787.3 meters.

Percy followed him and gave him a fist bump before stepping into the circle and entering "Overdrive". With the dull bronze glow from his skin, he then coated his right arm in water for strength boost and right as he released the ball, he launched it with a focused blast of air that was easily disguised by other two actions.

An even larger wind blasted the area with the ground cratering slightly, made the ball nothing more than a speck in the distance. After a few moments, the device beeped and Aizawa revealed that Percy had scored 1076.4 meters.

"Over a kilometer?!" the class shouted in surprise, but Percy just shrugged and walked out of the circle so Aizawa could tally their scores.

"It's illogical to reveal them individually, so here," the tired man said and a hologram of the rankings materialized before then. Percy was in the number one spot followed by Yaoyorozu, then Midoriya, Todoroki, and Bakugo, and last place was the grapist, Mineta.

"No! I can't go home already! I haven't gotten to-," he started to say while tears of blood rolled down his cheeks before the uncanny sound of a blade being drawn caught everyone's attention.

"Finish that sentence, and I'll castrate you," Percy told him with his wolf glare in full effect, making the boy pale rapidly.

"Oh yeah. The expulsion was a lie. It was a logical ruse to get you to give it your all," Aizawa said, but the shock of the ruse was drowned out by the explosive boy.

"DEKKUUUU!" Bakugo shouted with his palms popping frantically as he leapt at the shrub head, only for his quirk to deactivate and cloth to wrap around him tightly.

"You're making me get dry eyes. Attack a classmate outside of training and unprovoked again and I'll give you a real expulsion threat," Aizawa glared at Bakugo before the latter clicked his teeth and relented.

"That being said, Mineta," Aizawa continued and glared at the grapist. "Keep comments like that to yourself. If you even try something that constitutes as sexual harassment or assault, I'll expel you."

Said boy nodded in fear before they were dismissed for the day.

As far as first days of school go, Percy had no complaints, though he supposed that was the difference between a normal school and a school for heroes.

With that, he bid Midoriya goodbye and headed to set up his hammock wherever Aizawa would be stuck doing paperwork for the rest of the day.

Chapter End

Long chapter it felt like and maybe fell off at the end. But here's and alternate scene presented by HETAP

AlternateScene

Class 1-A was gathered out on the P.E grounds. All of them looked extremely nervous for what was to come. All except one.

Percy was lazily standing beside his adoptive father and home room teacher Eraserhead.

"Today, all of you will be performing a quirk assessment test. All of you except problem child here," Aizawa said and Percy gave a lazy wave.

Before the protests could start, an angry Pomeranian shouted out, "HUH?! WHY DOES THAT USELESS FREAK GET TO SKIP OUT?!"

Percy lazily opened his eyes and chuckled loudly, successfully drawing the attention to himself.

"Well that's easy. I already sit at the top of this class," he said, noting but not commenting on the stiffened shoulders of an IcyHot boy.

Of course, Bakugo didn't take that too well.

"HUH?! YOU DAMN EXTRA! YOU THINK YOU'RE BETTER THAN ME?!"

Percy just laughed easily again and walked out into the open as Bakugo continued to spit insults at him.

"Now now. While I could sit here and listen to you blunder about just how strong you are, Bakugo, I have literally a million better things to do," Percy said and stretched his limbs.

"So here's the deal: I want you to hit me as hard as you can," Percy said with a smirk that was mirrored by Bakugo.

"Oh, is that righ-," Bakugo started to say, but Percy cut him off with a tutting hand gesture.

"Now now, Bakugo. You might have misheard me," he said and Bakugo straightened up.

"Not half as hard. Not some arbitrary percentage," Percy said and stood stock still with that infuriating smirk.

"I want you. To hit me. As hard. As you can," Percy said and picked at his ear with his pinky.

Bakugo, for once, didn't let his ego blind him entirely and responded with, "and if I don't play your little game?"

Percy's smirk turned into something feral.

"Then I guess your mother was right about you."

Of course, that wasn't the right thing to say. In a flash of rapid movement and light, Bakugo launched himself at Percy and brought his hands forward. He charged up the biggest explosion he had created to date in his hands, snapped his arms forward, and unleashed it while yelling "DIE!"

Smoke and dust covered Percy's body and the rest of the class, save Midoriya and Aizawa panicked, thinking that Bakugo had just killed a classmate.

Bakugo himself was grinning smugly, but before the class could reprimand him, a loud chuckle sounded from the smoke.

With a lazy swipe of his hand, Percy channeled the wind to blow the smoke and dust away to reveal himself completely unharmed.

Everyone, Bakugo included gaped.

"Consider that nerve touched," Percy said as he stifled his chuckles.

Bakugo backed up slightly in fear.

"H-How?" he asked and the feral grin Percy had early was back in full force.

"Well, as a soon to be broken boy once said, 'You're either perfect, or you're not me," Percy said and disappeared from sight.
