NazgulBelserion: You can't evolve into being an Original. Lucien, Aurora, and Tristan were all almost as old as the Originals and they were still normal vampires. A spell is needed for that to happen. Gregor is stronger than every other vampire out there though aside from the Originals. La Mai is considered an ancient vampire being 676 years old, nearing 700. Amelia is 468 nearing 500 as well so compared to Damon and Stefan she is ancient. As of now I am not fully concerned on whether any of my OC characters will become Original vampires as that isn't relevant to the plot yet.

In the series the cast doesn't really deal with a lot of old vampires outside of the Originals. I mean there is Katherine of course who was 500+ years old. There was Sage who was 900+ years old but she died after they killed Finn due to the sire line which was disappointing as she seemed an interesting character. And there was Julian in season 6 and 7 I believe it was who was around 475 years old. Annabelle and Pearl were both over 500 as well but they were both killed off pretty fast in my opinion. Other than those characters most vampires they encountered were younger than the Salvatores or around the same age give or take a few years. And I gave my characters connections with the Strix on purpose so that I could potentially bring in other old vampires that appear on the Originals or create my own OC Strix vampires. And the information network that I still haven't named (Procrastinating at its finest) will have a number of old vampires in it as well for me to bring in or show briefly. But yeah old vampires outside of the Originals are hard to find. I mean on Legacies the only vampire that can be considered old that has appeared so far is Sebastian and while 500+ years old he spent centuries desiccated.

Bonnie walked determinedly up to Gregor's house. She needed to talk to him about her grandmother. Ever since La Mai mentioned Gregor knowing her grandmother, her mind had been bursting with questions that needed answers.

The Bennett witch took a deep breath and knocked on the door. Almost instantly the door opened revealing La Mai.

"Bonnie?" La Mai questioned, raising one of her eyebrows. "What are you doing here?"

"I need to speak to Gregor." Bonnie replied, her tone giving no room to refuse.

"Okay." The female vampire opened the door and gestured for her to come in. Bonnie took a breath of anticipation before walking into the vampire nest. La Mai led her to the backyard. "He's out here."

In the backyard stood Gregor with his arms crossed and a stern expression on his face as he observed what was happening in front of him. Bonnie looked past him and saw Caroline first. Her heart dropped a little as guilt set in. She hadn't been talking to Caroline lately. Not since she became a vampire. The witch knew it was wrong of her to cut out Caroline for something she didn't ask and Bonnie herself indirectly caused, but every time she thought of Caroline and remembered she was a vampire now, she remembered Damon tearing into her throat after Emily possessed her, and her Grams dying opening the tomb. Thankfully, since they got the moonstone they have been working on repairing their friendship.

Also in front of Gregor and sparring with Caroline was an unfamiliar beautiful dark skinned female vampire. Gregor turned and noticed her next to La Mai. "Miss Bennett," He greeted her. "What can I do for you?'

Gathering her courage and ignoring Caroline for the moment she walked up to Gregor, stopping in front of him. Only now did she realize how tall he was. Standing just under six and a half feet, Gregor Petrov was a tall man. "La Mai mentioned the other day that you knew my Grams?"

The Bulgarian man's expression shifted into wistfulness. "Yes I did. We met when she was still a young woman. Just a little older than you are. I believe it was 1971. She was in college then." He chuckled, a fond expression on his face. "I was attending to keep up my medical knowledge, as the medical field is always changing. When we met she walked straight up to me and threatened to kill me if anyone turned up dead. Before we knew it we were friends. I was there for your mother's birth. And yours. We kept in contact up until her death but the last time I saw her was 1998 at the Whitmore campus."

"That sounds like Grams." Bonnie smiled before frowning. "Why didn't you mention that you knew her? Why didn't she ever mention that she was friends with a vampire? Why weren't you ever around if you were such good friends?" Her voice dropped to a whisper. "Why weren't you at her funeral?"

Gregor sighed, a sad expression on his face. "Your mother disappeared." He said, softly, "Your father wanted you to have a normal life and Sheila agreed so she asked me to stop coming around."

Bonnie gasped in realization. "Wait, I remember you! You were there after my mom left. You gave me my stuffed panda, Mr. Cuddles, to go alongside Ms. Cuddles." The memory hazily played out in her mind and a chill went down her spine when she realized that she'd been around vampires a long time and never realized it.

"Yes, that was the last time I saw you." The man replied, scratching at his beard. "Not long after that Sheila told me that your father wanted you to have a normal life away from the supernatural so I stopped coming around even though I disagreed." His green eyes met her own. "But the supernatural has a way of finding its way into a witch's life."

La Mai interjected "And dad was at Sheila's funeral. He just wasn't seen and left not long after because he didn't want to bring the supernatural into your life."

Gregor glared at his daughter briefly before looking back at Bonnie. "Yes. I was there. "He admitted. "But I wasn't aware that you were involved in the supernatural so I left." That was actually a lie. The moment he went to her funeral he started preparations to come to Mystic Falls. After all he already knew that Bonnie was involved in the supernatural due to his past life but he had to tie up a few loose ends before coming to the small town.

A small cry turned their attention back to the spar. Caroline was thrown onto her back on the ground with Amelia standing over her, her hand outstretched to help the blonde haired vampire off the ground. "What are they doing?" Bonnie asked, curiously as the wind started to pick up and her hair caressed her cheeks.

"We're teaching Care how to fight." La Mai answered cheerfully as Amelia helped Caroline up. Her tone became more serious. "In vampire society there are millions of vampires all older than Caroline, which means stronger and faster. So she needs to learn how to fight and how to pull out every trick possible so she doesn't instantly lose a fight against a hostile vampire that is say a hundred years older for example. Dad taught all of us to fight. And we are all pretty good at fighting in my opinion. All of us have killed vampires older than us. It's kind of a right of passage. Not that we are going to force her to kill someone." She added quickly, before lowering her voice. "But if she killed Damon, I'd give her a medal and take her to shop in Paris."

Bonnie gave a short laugh at that and raised an eyebrow. "Really? Well I suppose I can be glad that you're helping her." She sighed. "I haven't exactly been a good friend to her lately. But we are fixing things. And she hasn't killed anyone, unlike Damon."

"Hi I'm Amelia." The new vampire introduced herself with her chocolate brown eyes sparkling,, her hand held out. "Gregor's favorite daughter."

Ignoring La Mai's exclamation of Stop lying! I'm his favorite!, Bonnie took a hold of Amelia's hand and gasped at the visions that went through her head. She ignored them though, used to being given small visions when touching a vampire for the first time.

"Nice to meet you." Bonnie turned back to Gregor. "Can you tell me more about my Grams?"

He smiled and gestured back to the house. "Sure."

"Here." Damon said as he handed Caroline a glass of blood. Gregor, La Mai, and Amelia, who had been quickly introduced to Damon and Stefan, were in the Salvatore boarding house.

"I'm still shaking." Caroline whispered. La Mai put an arm over Caroline's shoulder to comfort her.

"What happened?" Stefan asked as he walked into the room, a frown on his face.

"I saw Katherine today." Caroline answered. Gregor let out a small growl of annoyance

"I told her to leave you alone! Figures she'd not listen. Fear has never stopped her before."

"Where." Stefan questioned, briefly looking at Gregor, aside from when Damon irritated him when they first met he'd never seen the elder vampire angry. Of course Gregor wasn't truly angry. Living for centuries has given him careful control of his temper and it was rare for him to truly lose his temper.

Caroline proceeded to tell the small story of her being at the Grill to stalk Matt and ending up seeing Katherine. "She said to tell Stefan and Damon that she wants the moonstone or she will rip the town apart until it rains blood."

La Mai looked up sharply "Just Stefan and the Asshole? No mention of me or my dad?" Damon scowled at the name she gave him.

"She didn't mention either of you."

"Hmm it seems our little talk worked." Gregor mused. Stefan looked at him with a question in his eyes. "I told her that Mai and I wouldn't interfere as long as she didn't go after Caroline. I wanted to know what she was doing before I made a move."

Damon opened his mouth with an angry look on his face but Stefan spoke before him. "Smart. She thinks she's safe from you as long as she doesn't hurt Caroline and you get time to figure out what she wants."

"We know what she wants." Damon scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest. "The moonstone. Which we have."

"So she wants to do it in public." Stefan said, furrowing his brow. "She thinks Damon killed Mason, because he taunted her with his phone and it threw her off guard."

La Mai coughed into her hand. "I killed Mason." She was ignored by Stefan and Damon.

"She's running scared. What she did to Jenna was desperate." Damon smirked, obviously pleased. "She's out of tricks."

Gregor scoffed, an amused look on his face. "You're idiots if you think that was desperate. It was calculated. Katerina is nothing if not strategic. She knows how to get what she wants. Do not underestimate her." He warned. "She hasn't survived the last 500 years by being stupid. She was responsible for the deaths of WIlliam Beckett and Karya Sacan. Beckett was about fifty years older than her while Sacan had a little over two hundred years on her.

"Who?" Damon questioned. "Never heard of them so they must not be that notorious."

La Mai rolled her eyes. If he didn't listen then that's on him. "They were killed in the 1700s so of course you don't know of them but Dad, Amelia and I heard of it when we were at Versailles in 1756. Apparently she killed Beckett in Glasgow and Sacan in Damascus." She looked at her father for confirmation and he nodded. "And while killing William Beckett shows she is formidable, it is killing Karya Sacan that truly shows her cunning and intelligence. Sacan was turned in the mid 1200s and was feared by many vampires for her bloodthirsty and merciless reputation." Karya Sacan was also turned by the Original Kol but they didn't need to know that.

"Ooh you were at Versailles?" Caroline asked excitedly before looking down in embarrassment when both Damon and Stefan glared at her for getting off track. "Sorry." She apologized but decided to interrogate them about it later. Sometimes she forgot that they were so old because they acted like they were from this time aside from a few speech mannerisms that seemed to come from a different time or Gregor seeming to want to lead her and other women places when walking with them, as men used to in the past.

"We can't underestimate her." Stefan said, getting it back onto the subject at hand. "We have to play smarter than her."

"Can't we just give her the moonstone so she'll go away?" Caroline suggested. She might have Gregor, La Mai, and maybe Ameilia to protect her but it didn't change the fact that Katherine terrified her.

"No." Damon paced across the room. "Katherine's not getting dick." La Mai laughed, covering it up with a cough as she thought Yeah not your dick because you want to screw her carbon copy who I am pretty sure is your Katherine do over in your mind. "I'm going to go to the masquerade ball tonight, and I am going to kill her."

"You're not gonna kill her." Stefan stopped him, making everyone in the room look at him with a disbelieving look on their face.

"Don't give me that goody-goody crap." Damon glared

"You're not gonna kill her." Stefan repeated.

"Really?"

"Because I am"

"Good on you Stefan." Gregor rolled his eyes. Personally he thought neither Stefan or Damon should be with Elena. They'd both been with Katherine and personally it felt like they were trying to get a do over with Elena. He thought Elena would be better off without them. He didn't care that they were vampires but if she was going to date a vampire then it should be one that didn't sleep with or date her carbon copy. They were toxic for her and she was toxic for them.

Sometime later Bonnie arrived with her grimoire in hand. "I got Stefan's message."

"Hey, you brought the grimoire, thank you." Stefan greeted her.

"What's going on?" She questioned noticing all the people there. She knew what was going on because Gregor texted her not long after Stefan did with Caroline's phone. Bonnie wanted confirmation though.

"We're gonna kill Katherine." Jeremy said as he walked by.

"I can explain." Stefan said quickly.

"By all means." Bonnie gestured with her hands.

"We're going to kill Katherine."

Alaric was explaining the weapons, "This works with compressed air, the trigger mechanism is up here. I have two different sizes. For you I recommend this, it fits nicely under the jacket sleeve. You use the trigger when you're ready." He mimed killing a vampire causing Stefan and Damon to exchange a wary look. "You wanted me to show you how to kill a vampire."

"Against an arrogant or inexperienced vampire that might work." Gregor said coming up to them. "But against a really old and experienced vampire it probably wouldn't work. It would just distract them temporarily."

"You're saying it won't work on you." Damon questioned.

"If I was being arrogant or underestimating someone, sure but most of the time? No." The ancient vampire crossed his arms. "I have a lot of experience with people trying to kill me."

Damon smirked, picking up a stake. "Let's find out." He really wanted to bring both the older vampires down. Both of them dismissing him as a threat really annoyed him. He took down Lexi who was over 200 years older than him.

Gregor rolled his eyes. He wasn't afraid of some baby vampire who thought he was the best thing since sliced bread. It wasn't him thinking his age made it impossible for a younger vampire to kill him. It was the fact that Damon and Stefan were honestly kinda bad at fighting. Strength meant nothing in the face of a more skilled opponent. "You try it and you'll lose. I have centuries on you. Not to mention the centuries La Mai and Ameilia have on you."

"Look I know you love Elena and you want her back but it's risky. Too many people could get hurt." Bonnie honestly wished Elena was with a human guy. There would probably be far less drama with it. Probably.

Stefan couldn't deny he wanted her back but Katherine went too far and she needed to be dealt with before anyone else got hurt. "Yes, I want Elena back but it's more than that. What Katherine did to Jenna crossed a line. She has to be stopped before anyone else gets hurt."

Bonne bit her lip. "I don't know Stefan…" She trailed off.

"Katherine knows I won't try anything in a crowd of people which gives me an edge." Stefan urged. He needed her to agree or they wouldn't be able to stop Katherine and protect Elena. "I could catch her by surprise."

"I could do a spell to trap her, like the tomb spell." Bonnie thought out loud, running a hand through her hair.

"Right, we could isolate her, away from all the innocents. Please Bonnie." Stefan begged.

Bonnie's want to protect innocent people won over. "Okay."

"You know you can take pictures of the grimoire pages...it's a lot less inconspicuous than carrying an ancient looking book around Miss Bennett." Gregor said, startling both of them who hadn't heard him walk up. "Also I will say I don't like you or Caroline being involved in this, not to mention Jeremy. You're all teenagers. Still children. You should be worrying about your grades, or boys or girls if that's your thing, not a murderous 500 year old vampire."

"If I can protect people with these powers then isn't it better that I be involved?" Bonnie asked. Ever since she could remember she was always the one who sacrificed everything for her friends. But wasn't that what you did for the people you loved?

"No it isn't. After you graduate high school then sure, if you wanna get involved in supernatural business that's your choice, but you're still in high school." Gregor's gaze suddenly seemed intense to the witch and she had to look away from him. "There is nothing wrong in putting yourself first, Miss Bennett."

"Bonnie," She whispered, elaborating further when he looked confused. "You were friends with my grams. I think you can call me Bonnie." She also thought that she would take pictures with her phone rather than carry it everywhere. He was right. It did look weird.

Gregor smiled at her softly. In his head he cursed though because he could already hear the teasing from his children, not to mention Aurora or Tristan. He really did have a soft spot for children. It was a miracle he hadn't adopted an army. Though in all honesty his soft spot for children did fade when overruled by his pragmatism and realism. He helped where he could but knew he couldn't help anyone, though helping anyone might seem strange for someone who didn't much care for humans as a whole but to Gregor he could never be indifferent to a child's suffering as they still possessed something that most people didn't once they experienced life. Innocence.

"Are you sure you don't want me there?" Alaric asked, unsurely. Personally Gregor thought he should be there for back up. Katerina wouldn't expect the hunter. But since he knew how it would play out he'd let the younger vampires take the lead.

Stefan shook his head. "No, I need you to stay with Elena, I don't want her to know about this."

Gregor personally thought Stefan shouldn't be making decisions for Elena because that's not how a relationship worked. Then again, they were currently broken up but the point still stood. He zoned back it to Stefan talking again. "If anyone wants to back out I'll understand."

Damon spoke up "Yeah, cold feet speak now. I don't want this to go wrong if someone chicken's out." He looked across the room. "Caroline?"

Caroline smoothed a hand over her jeans. "I won't. She killed me. Fair's fair. As long as there isn't a werewolf running around."

"As long as Tyler doesn't activate the curse, there won't be any werewolves. I dealt with Mason." La Mai spoke up keeping to the story that she killed Mason. She even left the werewolves phone on purpose as instructed by Gregor. She guessed her dad knew Damon would taunt Katherine and take credit for Mason's supposed death and he did.

"What about you bitchy?" Damon asked.

Gregor cleared his throat. Everyone looked towards him. "I won't be there. It's better I stay with Elena. And La Mai should come after you trap her. If she sees her or me she'll run. Katherine Pierce isn't an idiot and knows she can't beat all of us at the same time."

Damon scoffed. "Of course. You're scared aren't you?" He mocked stupidly. It seemed he'd forgotten how easily Gregor had manhandled him last time and how easily La Mai broke his wrists and shattered his right hand.

Gregor felt a flash of irritation, before he flashed forward and grabbed Damon by the throat and raised him from the floor. "I have centuries on you little boy. Show some damn respect." He growled out as Damon's legs dangled off the floor and he grasped uselessly at Gregor's hand."I know how Katherine Pierce thinks far better than you." He said matter of factly before mocking. "Just because you use to fuck her doesn't mean you know her well. Remember she never loved you while you obsessed over her for over a century." Gregor pulled Damon closer, his grip on his throat tightening "So no I am not going to be there unless it's an emergency." He dropped Damon who fell to his knees and coughed as his throat healed from the bruises inflicted by Gregor. "See how easy it was for me to have you at my mercy? Never forget that I could kill you anytime I want. You live because I permit it."

Gregor turned to the rest of the room. Jeremy seemed awe struck at how easy the older vampire had manhandled Damon. Caroline looked vindictively gleeful to see Damon get his ass kicked after how he had treated her when she was human. Bonnie looked amused and happy to see Damon get put in his place.

Both Stefan and Alaric had been held back by La Mai and Amelia respectively to make sure they didn't interfere. Gregor turned back to Damon. "Here I'll give you a bone. I don't want her involved but if you need back up then Amelia will do. She is nearly 500 years old and Katherine doesn't know her face." Hopefully. It is actually completely possible that Katherine did know her face. She would definitely know who she was the moment she heard her name though.

"I am?" Amelia questioned, stupefied before her expression brightened. Usually her dad was overprotective when he was with her, so this certainly made her feel better. "I mean, Of course. I also know how to fight and it will be a more even fight between me and Katherine."

"So where will you be?" Stefan asked unnecessarily like Gregor hadn't just told him.

"I already told you. I'll stay with Elena" Gregor said, annoyed. "I hate parties. And dressing up. Plus wouldn't it be less suspicious if someone else stayed with Elena rather than going to the Masquerade ball."

"You're doing all this to get out of the party, aren't you?" La Mai asked, slightly disappointed in her dad but more than familiar with his hatred of parties. In 1999 it took all three of his children to drag him to a Strix party that they were invited to. And even then he purposefully irritated Tristan enough to make him snap Gregor's neck and shove him somewhere away from the party.

"Yep." Gregor said cheerfully. Amelia and La Mai exchanged a look and both had a silent conversation before they both concluded that there would be no convincing him as the only person capable of convincing him to dress up and go to parties wasn't in Mystic Falls and even then it was a hit and miss. They both sighed but decided that if their dad thought that tonight would go bad that he wouldn't have either of them go.

"Okay." Stefan said, a little disappointed as the older vampire would be a lot of help but La Mai said she was older than Katherine and Amelia was apparently almost 500 so it wouldn't be a total loss.

"What about you witchy?" Damon asked after he recovered from the strangling he'd been given.

"As long as no one else gets hurt." Bonnie shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant about it.

"Except Katherine. Tonight she gets a stake through her heart."

No, Gregor thought She won't. Katerina Petrova is a survivor and will survive tonight.

The ball was in full swing when Amelia arrived. She decided to ignore all the supernatural drama until Katerina was trapped in the room. Her father had told her and La Mai that Katerina couldn't die tonight. They still had a use for her. She personally didn't have a problem with it as Katerina had never done anything to her but La Mai was really disappointed. The dark skinned woman didn't think it would be hard to prevent Katerina's demise. Afterall Stefan and Damon were both younger than her and her sister. She was to wait until Katerina was trapped and then text La Mai and let her know. Then they would both make a dramatic entrance.

"Ugh I hate parties of this century. I much prefer the balls of the 18th century."

"What are you doing?" Amelia hissed at her sister. "You were supposed to wait until I texted you. And parties in the 1700s were a bore and all the humans looked down on us because we weren't white."

La Mai scoffed. "You both seem to have forgotten something."

"And what's that oh mighty keeper of knowledge?" Amelia inquired sarcastically.

"It's a masquerade ball." La Mai gestured to her mask which covered her face, obscuring it from view

"Oh"

"Yeah."

Amelia supposes she got so excited and forgot it was a masquerade ball even though she was wearing a mask. She doubted her father forgot though. He had always been overprotective and would take any chance to be overprotective to his children and even friends. It drove all of them mad. But they loved him for it. Looking around at the party brought back memories of the many parties they'd been to in the past. She fondly remembered a party when she'd still been a human girl of sixteen. In Venice she was looked at as an exotic commodity with her father being a saint for taking in the dark skinned child, and as such she was suspect to much scrutiny and looks at parties the Venetian nobles threw. When she was sixteen, her father let her finally go with him and La Mai to one of the Strix parties that her Uncle put together. She'd been begging to go since she was ten. Amelia had grown up with vampires and as such had a hard time understanding that some could be dangerous. After all her father was a vampire, her older sister was, her Aunt and Uncle were, and none of them had ever hurt her so it was hard for her to imagine a vampire being dangerous. To her they were simply people who were faster and stronger and never aged.

Her phone going off drew her out of her memories

Spell is done and Katherine is trapped -Caroline

Amelia smiled and looked at her sister. "Ready to scare Katerina?"

"I've been waiting for almost 500 years, sister." La Mai smirked. "Let's make an entrance."

Meanwhile at the Gilbert household Elena and Gregor were sitting in her living room eating pizza.

"Why didn't you go to the Masquerade?" Elena curiously asked, looking over at her ancestor.

"Parties aren't my thing Elena." Gregor replied while grabbing another slice of pizza. "More La Mai's and Amelia's thing. By the way, Amelia is excited to meet you tomorrow."

"Well I'll be happy to meet her too. When did she get into town?" Elena replied after finishing her slice.

"Last Night."

"Anyway, why aren't parties your thing?" She asked again.

"You sure are asking a lot of questions." Gregor teased her.

"Sorry." Elena apologized. "It's just you've been in town and I still don't know much about you aside from the fact that you have two daughters and a son. Your sister apparently was the first doppelganger and I still don't know what all this doppelganger stuff means." She took another breath. "And you're older than 900 years old but I don't know your exact age."

The old vampire pressed his lips together to suppress a laugh that was bubbling up. "I'm just teasing Elena. I hate dressing up. Last party I went to was in 1999 and I hated every moment of it. I made my friend so irritated he snapped my neck and he threw me somewhere away from the party. He hasn't invited me to a party since." What he left out was that he purposefully irritated Tristan so he could get out of the party.

"Your friend snapped your neck?" Elena asked, shocked. She couldn't imagine having a friend snapping her neck because she irritated them. "Weren't you concerned that he might hurt you?"

Gregor shook his head, a small smile on his face. "No. We've known each other since the early 1400s. He is more like family than just a friend. Amelia and Thierry call him Uncle."

Jenna walked into the living room with Alaric supporting her to make sure she didn't reopen her wound. "Ugh I feel like an invalid."

"That's because you are an invalid." Elena spoke up teasingly. "Where is Jeremy? Isn't he hungry?"

"He went to the Lockwood party." Jenna answered to Elena's surprise.

"He went to that?" Elena asked in confusion and surprise. She looked over at Gregor who only smiled with mischief in his green eyes.

"I'm glad he did. He needs to have more fun and get rid of that emo thing he has going on." Jenna replied.

"I'm gonna get some napkins." Elena said, getting up and heading to the kitchen where Alaric was, obviously about to demand answers. Gregor was easily able to hear their conversation.

"What's going on?" Elena demanded with her arms crossed over her chest.

Alaric tried to act normal and failed completely, "What do you mean?"

"I haven't heard from anyone all day aside from Gregor, and now Jeremy is at the Lockwood party?" She questioned in disbelief, "He hates stuff like that."

"I don't know what to tell you Elena." Alaric sighed. His phone started to ring and he quickly grabbed it and put it in his pocket when he saw the doppelganger reaching for it.

"So…" Elena slyly began, "It'll be okay if I head out and try to meet up with everybody?" She started to walk away but Alaric grabbed her wrist.

"Wait, wait, wait." Alaric said, feeling slightly panicky.

"What are you hiding, Ric?"

"Look, Stefan asked me to keep an eye on you, just in case Katherine shows up at the party." He admitted.

Elena scoffed in disbelief, "So Stefan's at the party too? He would never go to that party for himself, he did that stuff for me."

"Just let this one go okay, Elena" Alaric pleaded.

"Okay Ric, I will." Elena agreed convincingly enough for Alaric. About fifteen minutes later Elena spoke up to everyone, "Hey guys, I'm gonna head to bed. Are you good down here alone?"

"Goodnight" Jenna replied distractingly. Elena pretended to go to bed but instead grabbed her car keys and left the house.

Gregor stood up and told them both that he was going to head home and quickly said his goodbyes. Elena got into her car, turned it on and almost backed out when the passenger side door opened and closed faster than she could track and Gregor sat next to her. She jumped and hit her head on the roof of the car. "Ow!

"What are you doing?" Gregor asked in amusement

"So I guess you knew about everything too?" Elena asked in annoyance as she rubbed her head.

"Yea. La Mai and Amelia are helping thing one and thing two so I didn't see the need to stop then." Gregor explained "Only reason I am not helping is because I hate parties and know that if Katherine saw me that she'd instantly flee because she knows she can't win against me."

"What if someone gets hurt? Or worse, ends up dead? Elena asked worriedly, "I don't want someone to die because of me."

"Elena, if someone dies tonight, who isn't Katherine, it isn't your fault, we all made our choices, and I'm guessing this might be a little hard to grasp because you are a teenager but the world doesn't revolve around you." Gregor spoke bluntly. He did always hate how she tried to make everything about her and was hoping to break her of that habit. It is normal for a teen to be self-centered but damn she takes it to a whole new level.

Elena flinched, "I-I don't think everything is about me!" She protested with denial.

"Young one, you are a teenager, every teenager thinks the world revolves around them." Gregor spoke not without kindness, "I'm not hating on you but I do think you need someone to call you out on it. Sometimes, from what I've noticed you get sucked into your drama and forget that your friends have lives outside of you. But so does every teenager. Just work on it Elena." He grabbed her hand and gave it a gentle comforting squeeze, "Now let's go crash that party."

"You let her come here?" Bonnie asked Gregor in disapproval.

He rolled his eyes in response, "Have you ever tried to stop her from doing something once she sets her mind on it? Anyway relax darling, I went with her to ensure she didn't get herself killed. She'll be fine."

"You have a point." Bonnie admitted as they both turned back to the conversation between Jeremy and Elena.

"-are you guys crazy? You're gonna get yourselves killed!" Elena exclaimed

Bonnie interjected, "We know what we are doing Elena. Not to mention we have La Mai helping and she is a hundred years older than Katherine."

"And what happens if one of you gets hurt doing this?" Elena asked, being mindful not to make it about her after the slight scolding she received from Gregor.

"Then we get hurt." Jeremy shrugged, "Look Elena, she's messed with all of us, she has to be stopped."

Elena suddenly cried out in pain, blood covering her pink shirt at her back. Faster than they could blink, Gregor was at her side, just as another wound and blood started appearing on her arm.

"What's happening?!" Jeremy all but shouted.

"Katerina has a witch on her side and had that witch link herself and Elena." Gregor quickly answered as he grabbed Elena into his arms and grabbed his phone quickly dialing a number while Bonnie told Jeremy to go tell the others to stop.

Amelia and La Mai arrived into the room quickly and entered, uncaring of the spell that would trap them in the room. La Mai flashed over and pulled the Salvatores away from Katherine just in time to stop them from killing her.

"I knew we couldn't trust you!" Damon growled in anger

"La Mai, what's happening?" Stefan asked cautiously not believing that she'd betray them with how obvious she made her hatred for Katherine.

La Mai was about to respond when Jeremy appeared at the door, "Everything you are doing is hurting Elena, Gregor and Bonnie said that a witch linked them together!"

La Mai cleared her throat, "That's why and don't worry Dad will force his blood down his throat rather than let her die if it comes to it, I would have been your personal cheerleader any other day but Elena is family so…"

Katherine mockingly laughed, "You all can't believe that you are the only ones with a witch on your side? And something tells me that your witch is better than your witch." She grabbed the stake from Stefan and sat on the sofa as if she had no worries in the world.

"You mean Lucy Bennett?" La Mai asked in boredom while raising an eyebrow. Katherine looked shocked but quickly wiped it off her face. "You shouldn't be so surprised. Did you forget that Gregor is just as much a Petrova as you? He is always five steps ahead of you."

"You knew?!" Stefan asked through clenched teeth.

"That Katherine had a witch on her side and who that witch was? Yes." La Mai answered while crossing her arms, "I found it out and Dad looked into who she was and found out her name is Lucy Bennett."

"And why didn't yo-" Stefan started to ask but was cut off by Amelia.

"Deal with her? Because she's a Bennett witch and Dad has this rule about not killing Bennett witches unless we have no other choice." Everyone looked towards the dark skinned vampire, "He says that Bennett witches are better as allies than enemies. It does make things a little annoying at times since the Bennetts are spread out over the world but it's whatever. And we didn't know that Katherine was going to have herself linked to Elena, we aren't all knowing."

Stefan fell silent at that so Katherine quickly filled the silence with her voice, "You must be Amelia? I've heard of you. You remind me of myself if I'm to be honest with your ability to wrap men and women around your finger."

"Thank you, it's a talent." Amelia smiled and bowed sarcastically.

"And you La Mai, it's been forever since we've seen each other if you don't count you snapping my neck and kidnapping me a few weeks ago." Katherine continued while La Mai rolled her eyes in boredom. She was so annoyed because her father told her and Amelia that he had plans for Katherine and that she had to be alive which really killed her mood as she'd been looking forward to seeing the bitch finally die "Tell me is it true you are pining after Lucien Castle? A man who pines after Aurora de Martel who if I recall correctly is your friend? How pathetic it must be to pine after a man who wants your friends over you?"

"No more pathetic than you pining after Stefan even though you compelled him to not be afraid of you when he was human effectively taking away his ability to consent and thus raping him" La Mai drawled, "And for the record your information is a little old after all Lucien has been chasing after me for the last fifty years and I like playing hard to get."

Katherine looked taken aback for a moment and so did Stefan in someone else acknowledging what he himself had a hard time admitting. "I didn't rape him!" She protested with Damon nodding in agreement.

"You took away the thing that was causing him to not wanna sleep with you. His fear. Doing that took away his ability to properly consent." Amelia spoke up, "That's why I'm not like you at all, I've never had to compel human men into my bed."

Katherine felt a surge of anger and grabbed the stake, "Just a little more pressure than." She cut a jagged cut on her hand. Amelia flashed forward and grabbed the stake from Katherine and threw it away. Katherine quickly grabbed it again and positioned it to her stomach "This one is really gonna hurt."

"Wait!" Damon said just as Katherine was about to plunge the stake into her stomach.

She smirked and sat down on the sofa, "So how about that moonstone?"

"Are you okay?" Jeremy asked in concern

"Are they?" Elena asked back instantly

"They are trapped with her but otherwise okay." Jeremy looked at Gregor and Bonnie, "You were right, Katherine had a witch link her to Elena."

Bonnie's eyes widened in realization, "That girl I saw, stay with her and keep pressure on her shoulder."

"Where are you going?" Jeremy asked in confusion.

"I'm going to find the other witch." With that Bonnie left inside.

Jeremy removed his ring and gave it to Elena.

"No." She protested.

"Take it please." Jeremy pleaded, "You need this more than I do."

Elena shook her head and rasped out, "No, what I need is for you to be safe."

"Sides chances are it won't work." Gregor mused, "The ring was meant for normal humans. The doppelganger is a supernatural occurrence." He bit his wrist and put it up to Elena's lips, "Drink."

"No, I don't want to be a vampire." Elena said.

"Better a vampire than dead forever Elena." Jeremy said. "Please drink some blood."

Elena reluctantly drank some of Gregor's blood which healed her wounds and stopped her bleeding.

La Mai and Amelia both zoned out Katherine and Damon trading barbs and insults but started to listen again when Stefan mentioned Mason and asked Katherine about him.

"Sorry about your pet wolf, Probably should have kept him on a tighter leash." Damon said mockingly.

"I'll remember that for next time." Katherine promised.

"Where is that witch?" Damon asked in frustration

"Have some patience, asshole." La Mai said while inspecting her nails, "It's not like any of us are getting any older."

Katherine suggested, "We could play charades?"

"You bargained the moonstone." Stefan said to himself

Damon looked at him, "What are you mumbling about over there?"

"When you struck a deal with George Lockwood, to help you fake your death, you told me that you gave George something that he needed. It was the moonstone, wasn't it?" Stefan asked Katherine.

"Good for you Stefan. Two plus two…and it would have worked except that people found out I wasn't in the tomb."

Amelia snorted in amusement. Everyone looked at her so she elaborated, "My family and I knew you weren't in the tomb within a month of it happening. You aren't as subtle as you like to think. I bet certain parties let you keep the façade of being dead for 145 years to amuse them."

Katherine paled as she hadn't considered that Klaus knew she was alive the whole time instead of dead and rotting in the tomb. She regathered herself fairly quickly and looked at Damon, "Thanks to you by the way, have I mentioned how inconvenient your obsession with me was?"

"Moving on from your love triangle please." La Mai said annoyed, "It makes me want to throw up especially since you slept with both of them at the same time."

Stefan capitalized on the interruption, "Unless it wasn't yours to begin with. You faked your death in 1864. Who were you running from Katherine?"

"In 1987 you were at a concert in Chicago with that wench Lexi, Don't look so surprised, of course I checked up on you over the years Stefan. You were standing in the front row, dancing all night. You were watching Bon Jovi and I was watching you." Katherine attempted to deflect.

"Who were you running from?" Stefan repeated firmly.

"Why don't you ask La Mai? Or Amelia? Gregor knows, so I bet they do too." Katherine said in response.

Damon rounded on them both, "Who was she running from?" When they didn't answer he flashed forward and grabbed La Mai by the throat and slammed her into the wall, "I'm tired of all of you hiding things!" He was grabbed from behind by Amelia who threw him back. She picked up the discarded stake and stabbed Damon through the stomach.

"Don't touch my sister." Amelia said softly, "You wouldn't want us angry. You wouldn't like us when we are angry."

La Mai grabbed Damon by the throat and lifted him up, "You are in no position to demand things from us. The only thing that is keeping me from killing you right now is that I actually kind of like Stefan and don't wanna make him lose his brother." A hand touched her shoulder and she looked and saw Stefan's green eyes.

"Please let him go." Stefan requested, wanting to diffuse the situation.

"Okay." La Mai released him and Damon tumbled to the floor. "Be careful Damon, next time I won't be merciful." She walked back to her sister while Katherine watched in amusement, holding back laughter.

Damon got up and walked over to pour himself a drink. "We're missing the party. I'll have one of those."

"Right away Miss Katherine." Damon mocked giving her a glass. She took a drink and met the wall with a stake about to be driven in her heart.

Stefan pulled back Damon, 'No! No, Damon don't"

"Yes Damon please." Katherine smirked

Damon growled in frustration, his blue eyes shining in anger, "The second the spell is lifted, I'm gonna drive a stake through your heart."

"Katherine the spell on this room is lifted." They all turned to see a dark skinned woman walk into the room with the moonstone in hand, "You're free to leave."

"Thank god." Katherine said in relief.

"When I hand this over my debt to you is over." Lucy asked for clarification.

"Done."

"I owe you nothing." She insisted.

"I said done. Give it." Katherine said in annoyance. The moment the moonstone touched her hand, her lungs constricted and she was unable to breathe.

"You should have told me there was another witch involved. She's a Bennett witch, Katherine, but I'm sure you already knew that." The witch said furiously.

"Wait, Elena" Stefan started.

"Elena's fine." Lucy said to Stefan and Damon's relief. "The spell is broken. She'll heal quickly, Bonnie's with her." She started to walk away but paused, "I apologize for my involvement."

La Mai quickly flashed over and kicked Katherine in the face hard enough to break her nose. "I feel better now. Amelia, go find Dad and Elena. I'll deal with this."

Lucy was about to enter her hotel room for the night when she felt a presence behind her. "Gregor Petrov. I shouldn't be surprised to see you here when I saw your daughters here. What do you want?"

Gregor smiled, "I like having Bennett witches as my friends. Many could tell you that I'm a good friend to have. Just look at the Parson family. They've thrived with my protection."

"What's your point?" Lucy asked. She was wary of this vampire as she knew that many who encountered him ended up dead and very few knew his real name but he'd had a close association with a number of her ancestors which is how she was one of the rare few to know his name.

"I'd like to offer you a job." Gregor said to her shock.

"What!?" She spluttered. She'd been expecting him to threaten her into helping or working for him and was preparing a major aneurysm.

"It pays well and I take good care of anyone in my employ." Gregor continued before giving her a piece of paper, "Think about it. Here is my number."

Lucy looked down at the paper and when she looked back up he was gone, as if he was never there. She sighed before entering her hotel room. She'd had enough of vampires tonight.

Amelia was walking towards the woman who looked like Katherine to introduce herself and also get a ride home because she couldn't find her father or sister and didn't feel like walking. "Hello, I'm Amelia. You must be Elena?"

Elena looked at her before her eyes widened and Amelia felt a syringe stab her in the neck and inject her with vervain before her neck was snapped.

Sorry for the longer wait. Life has been hectic for me.

Please Review and tell me what you think.

Also just to clarify, I will not be bashing any characters. If you feel I am please tell me. I am trying to portray everyone as real people with flaws who make mistakes.

Wow this is the longest chapter I've written.
