'i'm the one that's got to die when it's time for me to die, so let me live my life the way i want to'
-JIMI HENDRIX-
Sitting on the freezing hard table in the cold room, a room which he assumed was a medbay, it was different from the other rooms; it was cleaner, brighter, and quieter. Moving his legs back and forth as he waited for the alien to return, he didn't know why, but there was this part in him, the part that was so difficult to understand.
First telling him that he liked this boy.
And the second it told him otherwise... it was too weird. Making his head hurts from trying to understand it.
It was illness himself. The voice that seemed to be stuck with him for years now.
Sighing, he saw Zim walking towards him, carrying some medicine and bandages between his arms. He put them on the table and leaned close to his face,
"Stop being sad!" He cheered him, smiling wildly.
"...I'm not sad," Dib replied, frowning his eyebrows, "i was just... thinking,"
Zim titled his head, and lucky he didn't question what Dib was thinking about. He leaned down to the boy's left leg, analyzing it. Tracing his finger on the jeans fabric, noting how tight it is, "take this off," he ordered.
"What...?"
"Your jeans. Take them off or i'll cut them and make you go home naked." Zim folded his arms, trying to look serious but ended up smiling darkly.
Dib, not wanting to walk naked or make the alien mad, decided to obey. He took off his boots, then slowly, he starts unbuttoning his pants and unzipping the fly. He felt lucky for wearing black boxers instead of his silly colorful ones. He tossed it away from his injured leg; hissing at the burning pain.
When he was finished, he couldn't hold his gaze with the other boy, feeling like his face was on fire, but tried his best not to complain.
Zim laughed, holding his torso, "my tallest! Now i see why some people say you look like a female!" His loud voice echoed in the halls, "You're so skinny,"
Feeling embarrassed, he just frowned and kept looking away, tagging his shirt to erase the anxiety. He didn't know what to say so Dib just waited for the other to finish.
When Zim did, he took a glance at the pitiful human, being all depressed in his lab; unprofessional. "Aww, c'mon, stop being a worm baby." He moved his hand in the air as if shooing the problem. Then he walked closer to him, lifting his hand to trace the human's jawline, making Dib look at him again; his face overly red.
"I think you're a beautiful pet." He smiled warmly; a small blush on his face before he opened his eyes, looking darkly at him, the smile turned into a smirk. The soft-touch on the boy's jaw became sharp, his claw traced and cut a small line of blood. Dib hissed but tried not to move, those eyes he was looking at were so in control, he couldn't move because of them. He didn't dare look away this time, feeling the wet hot blood as it run down his neck making him shiver slightly.
Finally, Zim let go and focused on his task, using whatever came to his mind, putting some of the green thick liquid, cleaned the wound then bandaged it. He was almost finished bandaging when a question came to his mind, "where were you?"
Dib snapped his attention, jumping out of his thoughts to focus on the other, he stared for a second before it clicked, "I was in the mental hospital, the crazy house for boys."
"And that's supposed to mean...?" Zim didn't know or care what that place was, it was just out of curiosity.
"It's a place where crazy people go to..." he sighed, and looked at his hands, "My Dad force me to go there in the weekends, saying that i'm 'crazy' and stuff..."
Zim stopped for a moment, his gaze traveled from the wound to the human's face, "crazy? Why?"
Dib just hid his face with his hands, not wanting to be stared at, it was too hard to explain something like this, too embarrassing, and now that he was in front of an alien, he felt much MUCH miserable, "because I believe in things that aren't real..." this answer was the same his therapist wanted him to say, she taught him this, it got stuck in his head.
"Aren't real? But you said you believe in aliens! I'm an alien, and i'm real." He hissed, so disrespectful.
"They don't see that..." Dib paused to glance at the other, feeling shame at some point, why? He didn't know, "they'll never see that."
Zim patted the boy's leg as he stood up, straightening his jacket, he threw the jeans back at the human, watching Dib wear the tight black jeans before speaking, "i'd like to talk to you, really, it's just something is telling me that you're not... fully surrendered to me." He leaned closer, "You just want my help, not me." He pointed to himself.
"W- what?" Dib now was confused, before even having the chance to speak, Zim cut him off,
"You came here because you finally saw how disgusting your people are, You came here because you hate them. You never came here because of me; you just want to use me." He hissed his last words darkly, feeling rage eating his body.
The human was so afraid that he was speckless, a part of him did come here for help, not for the alien. But another small part said otherwise, that part did seem to see him as the only person who cared, the only one who wanted to be friends with. He can't die now, not now!
"I- i-... no, i came here because i hate them, yes. but a- also because you're my friend..." he mumbled, voice shaking as he stared at the purple eyes of his 'friend'.
Zim for a second didn't seem to have swallowed the boy's words, but then surprisingly, he laughed, burying his face in Dib's shoulder, "oh silly! I know that, Zim was just joking with you!"
He rose his head to look at the amber eyes before him, seeing fear in them, he loved that fear, it made him feel in control. Smirking, Zim leaned to put a quick kiss on the human's cheek before stepping back. Crossing his fingers together, he said: "well, now i'll need to shove your legs off."
Dib's face became pale as if blood had drained away from his heart, leaving a dry organ to try and beat in his chest. His breath became harsh as his brain tried to think if what he'd heard was right, swallowing, feeling sweat on his forehead, "w- why...?" He choked out, feeling his legs becoming numb.
Zim frowned, "i can't have a pet that is taller or as tall as i am, it's irkens law."
Irkens?
Dib's gaze went to his shoved boots, they did make him look taller, yes! He had to prove he was actually shorter or else, he'd lose his legs!
"N- no! I'm shorter!" He waved his hands in front of the 'irken', trying to sound sane, "i was wearing boots, they make me look taller- really!" cracking a smile that melted on the sides,
"Eh?" Was all Zim could say,
Dib without second thoughts, stood on his legs, he yelped in pain at the pressure on his foot, but tried to stand straight in front of the irken, "s- see? You're much t- taller!"
Zim seemed to be rethinking it, humming his agreement, he stepped closer to see how tall he was; almost a foot taller, how interesting. A smirk sneaked to his lips, "i like it much better now," leaning down, almost brushing his lips at the pale skin, breathing hotly before licking what the thin bloodline he made earlier, licking all the way to Dib's ear, letting his saliva wet his neck.
He stopped right next to the boy's ear to whisper calmly, "i'll give you ten seconds to get out of my base..." cupping the human's face with his claws before continuing, "...before i kill you."
Staring into the purple eyes, his face couldn't get any paler today, if he wasn't being held he'd have fallen, his eyes looked around desperately, trying to memorize the way back. His breath was stuck in his throat when he realized that- he couldn't remember!
"You didn't seem like you trust me, so when you get home, i want you to think of a way to prove your loyalty to me." Zim said, squeezing the human's face, "that if-" he took a few steps away, shrugging, "-you survived."
Dib stepped back as well, feeling his world began to break.
"One..." Zim started, smiling while shooing the human towards the exit with his hand,
Dib didn't look behind as he started to run, hearing his footsteps as it echoed in the cold base, his lungs were full of weird smells like blood, medicine liquid, and god knows what else.
He searched his fuzzy mind for the exit- it has to be here! Somewhere! The place was huge, how in hell is he going to find the elevator?? But that was out of his mind as his legs kept caring his limp body and running as fast as he could, thankful his leg is healed- and the same person who healed it is running behind him, trying to KILL him!
"Two..."
He heard his voice from the echoing walls, his heart racing in his chest, turning blindly into what could be a dead end.
His feet splashed on a pool of red liquid- blood.
"Three..."
Squeezing his eyes shut and trying not to make a sound, maybe if he couldn't make it outside then he can hide- somehow...
"Four..."
The lights began to disappear, making the place darker, the computers humming around him, his breath became cold.
"Five..."
Half time!
He turned sharply, falling to his side in a big pool of blood, cursing himself for being so clumsy-
"Six..."
"No...!" hissing, He got to his feet in a blink of an eye-
"Hellooooo!" He heard a small voice coming from beside him on the floor, but he didn't wait to look and see who it was, he was running out of time- literally!!
"Why are we runnin' ???" The robot ran with him sheepishly, turning whatever corner with the panicking human. An idea crossed his mind-
"D- do you where's the e- exist??" He huffed, trying to speak clearly for the bot that was covered in blood-
"TACOS!! Yes!" He screamed.
"Seven..."
Laughter could be heard from far away-
"Help me out!" Dib pleaded, glancing down at the SIR unit.
"Okie Doki!" Gir turned the right corner, exactly the opposite side Dib was going to take.
They both ran, Dib panting while Gir giggling loudly.
"Eight..."
The irken voice was far now, but they still surely can hear him. The hallway was darker than the others, straighter, and the longer they ran, the more he saw drawings on the floor- this should be close!
He caught the elevator, the light from it felt like heaven as if he was escaping hell, running much faster till he reached it, trying not to raise his hopes up-
"Nine..."
"Shit-!" He pressed the first button multiple times, his hands were shaking as he waited for the elevator to respond, somehow grateful that Zim was counting slow-
"Ten."
Another burst of laughter was heard-
"He's comin'!!!" Gir screamed happily as the elevator closed up and took them to what he HOPED was the main level.
"Please god get me the hell out..." he whispered, his legs almost giving up on him but the adrenaline kept him going. His time was up, Zim's in his way, and why the hell the elevator was taking too long?!-
A 'ting' was heard as the door slid open, revealing the kitchen, without thinking twice, he ran out, almost falling as his side hit the table hardly making him cry in pain- but that was not the time! The purple door was coming closer- CLOSER.
As the even sun hit his glasses he couldn't help but collapse on the sidewalk, panting harshly, his mouth was dry and his eyes were teary, no longer feeling his legs. The sweat fell to the ground like rain.
"Good job!"
His head snapped back to the house, seeing the irken standing there- smiling sweetly at him, clapping his hands slowly, "You're fast." He admits as he walked closer to the boy on the floor.
Dib was about to run but he couldn't, he gazed up at purple eyes as the other walked closer, he stood right above him, then sat down calmly.
The human closed his eyes, expecting his death but all he felt was his glasses being moved on his face, "there!" Zim cheered him, placing his glasses back at his nose- Dib didn't even realize it was hanging awkwardly on his face.
Zim drew a quick hand on his cheek, tracing his jawline before standing straight again, "think about it." His smile died, looking darkly down, frowning as he walked back to his house, closing the door,
leaving the boy pearlized in his place.
