'Life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself.'
-GEORGE BERNARD SHAW-

The door cracked open, the house was empty, quiet- SO very quiet.
No one's here...
And he really didn't want anyone here, neither his father or sister. He wasn't ready for torture yet, his mind was full of voices, all telling him different things; some agreed with another, and another fought to take place. It gave him a headache.
Dib went straight to the bathroom, already knowing he was a mess, after all, he didn't take any showers since he ran out of the hospital to the 'irken's' base. His hair was disgustingly dirty.
Stepping inside, he lifted his heavy head to the cold water above, he felt overly depressed for some reason, not knowing if it was because he just gave up all humanity, including himself. Or if it was because Zim was right.
There is no turning back.
And he knew this.
The damage was done, and a part of him- no... two parts of him didn't mind. They both had their own advantages after all.
'...what's the next step?'
...
'Illness...?'
Don't call me that.
'What's wrong with you?'
Remember the nights you bothered me about hating him?
'...'
And here you are... just kissed him.
'It was an acci-'
Liar. I'm you, you can't lie to me.
'...what do you have in mind?'
You want attention. You got it. That alien is willing to give you his attention- even though it's sick.
'But I thought you're the one who wanted attention too-'
I do.
'So...? What kind of attention do you want?'
You get attention from him. I get to have revenge.
'Th- that's not attention-'
Yes, it is. People will fear me. They'll give me all the attention I want just for mercy. That's all I need, and Zim gives us both what we want. Isn't it a miracle? Because of him we- me and you, got along.
Dib turned the water off, sliding a towel over his hips, and then threw his bloodied jeans in the trash can.
He didn't bother to dry his hair as he got to his room and locked the door. Getting out a dark blue jeans and black t-shirt, then slowly undoing his bandages, seeing the almost healed scar on his wrist- how deep it was, how fearful he was when he'd done it.
'What am I supposed to do?'
About what?
'This whole "prove" situation? He sounded deadly serious...'
We all know that you want your head in place, Dib. That's your problem.
'We agreed we'll work together!'
Stop being so vulnerable.
'...please'
...
'You also have advantages by this too...'
I'll try to find a way... but you have to pay me.
'O- oh... right, ok...'
Dib swallowed, he saw this coming, opening the drawer, searching for a small box, when he found it, he opened it, staring at his thin, small knives, how sick was it that he had a collection? The boy took his favorite and sat back in his bed, leaning as far as his back could at the wall.
Illness knew better, he was smarter, he'll find a way out of this.
One cut,
Two cuts,
Three, four, five cuts... all bleeding red precious blood, down, down his elbow. Some still wet hair on his forehead dropping water down his face, he was too tired to cry, he was too tired to do everything Illness told him to. But they were one now, he had to do so, no matter how he thought this side of him was SICK, he still knew from the start- from when he first showed up, that people, all humans weren't worth it.
Illness said that they never cared. Illness said that they won't and will never believe in him. He said people were blind, all deserved to die, to burn alive- to be stabbed to death. Illness was him but a wiser side. And Dib, DIB, was more like a young kid seeking attention and love. So young, kind, and so very blind.
A faint sound broke Dib out of his thoughts, he looked at his window, narrowing his blurry eyes to focus on the sound, it sounded like a car passing by, but this one was followed by a scream-
His window broke, broken glass flew everywhere, a hint of green blurred in front of him-
"Helloooo!" The green dog waved his hand, pink tongue out of his mouth, "I smelled colors!! Can I and piggy have some??"
Dib stared at him in fear, he somehow grew to fear the small robot. Looking into green face then at his wrist, the back again at the 'dog' "w- what colors?..."
Gir titled his head, "dat!" He pointed at the blood, still smiling.
"That's not..."
Hey.
'What?...'
I've got an idea.
The boy glared at the robot, studying him carefully, almost evilly. "You like Bloody Watercolors, huh?" He asked in almost a whisper, Illness already taking control.
"Uh-huh!" He nodded happily, "I like red! Mastah likes red too!!"
Dib- Illness ross an eyebrow at him, narrowing his amber eyes, he waited patiently for something- Dib didn't know what exactly. Was he thinking? Or maybe just trying not to kill the 'annoying robot' as Illness thought of him.
Ugh, take control, I can't smile at this... thing.
'Ok...'
Follow my lead.
"Let's make a deal then, Gir!" DIB said happily, forming a smile on his pale face, remembering the robot's name at the last second.
Gir said nothing, just stared at him blankly.
How about...
"How about I share my blood with you..."
If you would...
"If you would tell me how to please Zim?"
Good. This will work.
'I hope so...'
Silence followed, both staring at each other, Dib holding his breath, sweating, trying to keep his smile.
"Oki-Doki!"
'That was easier than I thought...'
Be grateful.
A thin tube came out of the robot's head, sneaking around with a hard endpoint. Dib's eyes widen and he jerked his hand away behind his back, remembering his hospital times with all the needles he had to take, "stop!" He managed to say,
"Awww..." Gir's happy face dropped, frowning as if he was a kid about to cry.
Shit-...
"L- listen... I'll give you some but first you have to help me," he hoped he didn't just screw his chance.
The SIR unit sat back almost adorably- almost, "hmmmm... what yous want to know??" He titled his head,
"Well, your mast- I mean Zim, wants me to prove my loyalty. Do you know how to do that?"
"You have cheese??" Gir asked, looking around the room.
"U- um... there is in the kitchen?..."
The green dog flew with a happy squeak, down the stairs, into the kitchen, then opened the fridge. Dib could hear somethings breaking downstairs. In a matter of seconds, Gir returned with a mouth full of melted cheese, he licked his small hands, his face then stared back at the human, "what you said??"
I swear I'm gonna kill it!
'It's our only chance! Let me try again...'
"How do I prove my loyalty?" He said slowly, moving his hands in front of the blood-sucking robot.
"Oooooooh!" He jumped back on his small legs, "you bow! Theeen you say the magic words!"
"What words?"
The SIR's unit eyes turned red, "I am not allowed to say it to anyone but master." He stated sharply before turning back to normal, "but I can write it to youuuu!!"
He sat back and got out a paper out of his head, without question, he put his hand on the wound of the boy's wrist then started writing.
Dib flinched with every touch, hissing at the harp hand of the robot, staring at him writing with his blood- how come his life be like this?
After a few minutes, Gir stood and shoved the paper on Dib's face, "TAADAAAAA!"
Dib took the paper, staring at Gir for a second before reading it...
(My name, my fate, my soul are all under your feet...
My body, my mind, my thoughts are all under your control...
My home, my land, my comfort are all under your mercy...
My duty is to always obey you.
I surrender all I am to you and only you.
I surrender all I have and will ever have to you and only you.
I'm fully yours, Master.)
The human boy stared at it in disbelief, blinking multiple times as he read it twice, "so, I say this while I bow? That's all?"
Gir nodded happily, "YESS TACOS!" Pointing his tongue out, then staring at the boy's arm.
Dib felt cold sneak down his spine, he knew what the robot was looking at. Well, that was a deal now wasn't it? He sighed and moved his hand in front of the SIR unit. Gir gasped as if he didn't ask for it in the first place, his eyes teared a bit, "thank you..." Gir murmured before turning all happy again and sticking the needle in the wound and start sucking the human's blood.
This is going to be a long night...
