Age 890...
It was any other morning on Mount Pouzu, wet and slick as the air hummed with bird's flapping by. Clouds whipped across the pastel blue sky dousing it in faint white globules. A house now long abandoned for the much larger city over the horizon sat.
It was humble with a rounded top and a small pond to its read. The whitish concrete that made up its side had faded to a dull gray where creepers and vines twisted their ways up its side. The windows were cracked in some places and outright broke in others, casting the sun's rays to the inside. Some furniture remained though it looked far out of style and mostly deteriorated from the ware.
From inside its living room and looking out through the door one could see it coming. A shape that broke through the atmosphere in a crimson field of heat. Winds blasted from beneath it, shifting the air currents of the entire planet and causing the clouds to gather about. Birds, even miles away from it, took to the air with their screeches rushing off in every direction that was not toward this vessel.
Its destination was a simple one: West City.
Destiny Shattered Special: The Heroes' Legacy
Capsule Corps...
The domed building occupied a massive stretch of the city now, and its curved roof was highlighted by the reddish heat that came from the sky. The trees and grass along the ground began to shatter and burn slightly while glass in the buildings surrounding it shattered and burst away.
Within the building a young man with flaming black hair looked up from his exercises. His white gloved hands clenching from his diminutive stance.' What in the world is this? Why is there so much energy coming from the sky?' the young Saiyan-human huffed.
Wind hummed through the air above the building causing it to shake and shudder. Tremors rocking across the city and making the young man stumble and wobble about trying to keep his base.
A screen dropped from the ceiling, a glowing blue light turning on." Vegeta! Are you okay?" the aged Bra shouted from within the confines of her screen. Her rounded glasses closing her graying eyes.
"Grandmother, what is going on?" Vegeta's senses stretched out. The tremors continuing to rock Capsule Corps. while heat scorched down from the sky above and wreathing the building.
"Do you remember all of those stories that I used to tell you?" Bra muttered to her great grandson, her blue eyes shaking.
The lights flickered out as a massive boom rattled across the city. The building jostled to the side and the screen was thrown from its moorings smashing against the wall. Sparks stretched from it across the tiled floor making the hybrid Saiyan child avoid. Cracks rocketing along the walls Vegeta gulped heavily, with darting eyes. Heats scorching over the building with greater ferocity than before.
"Grandmother?!" Vegeta's descendant shouted rushing out of the room with a hurry.
Most of the center of West City was reduced to a blistering crater, buildings cracked and molten from the collision with the ship. Thunder booming overhead as dark clouds warped overhead. Thrashing about the sky as winds churned from the impact zone. People hurrying away from it angrily with heads turning to the back while fleeing with a hurried rush.
The ship was an oblong shape made of a bizarre silver metal. Steam poured from it as the doors opened with a mechanical whir. From within a voice chuckled from within. A glaring eye shifting from within it." Haha, so this is it. The Earth. The place where the mightiest warriors are said to live? Then, where are they?" the voice was a bit calm and powerful, a series of green arrows exploding from his chest.
Those hurrying away were skewered by the attack. Their eyes hollowing out instantly while streams of blood hurried from the depths of their back. Their frames rolling to the wayside limply within pools of their own blood. Those that were fortunate enough to escape the onslaught found themselves quickly tumbling forward as an explosion swallowed the ground behind them.
A hooded figure emerged from the crater caused by the ship casually. A sole bang of white hair dropping between his brow as he stepped up onto the asphalt. His hands were covered in thick leather gloves while his black cloak rested over his torso. Pale red light glowed from within his eyes while a smirk crossed his shrouded, tanned face. For a moment he gazed up before looking at those at his feet.
"Pathetic, I expected power. Not some civilians that amounted to less than an insect," his voice was cold as he continued forward, a three-foot-long tail-like appendage swinging out from behind.
As he stepped over the dead and into the city proper, his senses pinged. His head rose for a moment to greet the white bullet that appeared overhead." Ah, I see. Moths to a flame then," a smirk plastered across the invader's face.
"Oi, is this truly the best this planet has a child? Eleven, twelve at the oldest?" the intruder asked of the floating warrior, who began his descent.
Vegeta's white boots touched down lacking the golden trim of his ancestor's regalia. His bare legs leading up to a pair of blue shorts that were tightly bound to his upper thigh. A blue a-frame styled shirt met at the seam with the shorts giving the illusion of a single piece. White fingerless gloves tucked across his chest and beneath his waited and crossed arms.
Black eyes leering forward and with snide confidence he raised a brow." What were you expecting somebody older? I guess your pride can't handle the idea of getting beaten by a child," Vegeta muttered with a gravelly tone. His taunting clearly something taken from his ancestor alongside his nearly pictures perfect look.
"No, I was just hoping for an actual challenge from the legacy of this place," he answered calmly. His eyes never leaving the Saiyan-human hybrid as he continued the slow march forward.
Vegeta's left hand clenched tightly, white light surging across his body." Don't worry, you're going to get a challenge!" his frame blurred away. An afterimage splitting at the exiting of his last word.
A right hook crashed down from the side with a shot. The intruder parried it with a backstop before spinning on his heel. This twist seemed predicted by the younger hybrid, who dropped down and kicked at his leg. A hop prevented contact and a stomp from the invader followed. The descendent of Vegeta pushed from the ground with his open palm and wrapped around again.
His left leg catching squarely against the intruder's face. Then, it did not. His body warping to meet the ground a second later while looking back as his opponent appeared a few feet away. A swift dash followed on the part of Vegeta.
A left crossed slamming short as the intruder flew back over the crater. A right jab followed only to be knocked straight into the air where a ki blast formed. The hybrid Saiyan child threw it straight down on his foe. Yet the light of the blast scattered across the top of the opponent's head. The Saiyan being forced to move away to reconfigure while his foe raised his head.
"Interesting," Vegeta heard from the right side. A fist was curled into his core at that point. The muscles there bending across the first real punch he had ever taken. Wind sucked out from his lungs as spit escape from his mouth." But boring all the same," the intruder removed his hand. dropping Vegeta to his knees where a pointed boot went straight into his jaw.
He skirted through the air and hammered into a car which bent like tissue around his frame. His diminutive stature being played out against it like an impression." You are pathetic boy. Two counters and you are nothing more than a limp husk."
'This guy is really getting on my nerves,' Vegeta huffed picking himself free, his boots wobbling for a few moments as he steadied again. His left hand reached up and dabbed the stream of spit from his cheek a shaking of his head following." Come on, don't count me out just yet!" he rocketed forward in a zig-zag. Carving a white stream of wind alongside his motion.
"I already have," he was intercepted, a palm grabbing him by the cheek. The force of the impact taking him off course and driving the Saiyan hybrid to the ground. Buildings shuddered with the impact as their glass panes broke. A crater shooting through the asphalt street mere milliseconds after impact as the warrior straightened up to a vertical base to the leave the Saiyan at his feet.
Guttural grunts left the child, his vision beginning to blur with tears. Pain was pulsing through every inch of his body while he clenched his teeth tightly, trying to tough out against this hooded opponent. Yet even with that determined grimace he was weeping the tears streaking down his nose to meet the ground while his hands flailed about trying to find a hold to resist from.
"You are just a weakling," the invader snarled picking him up by the face and hurling him into the air.
Wind rushed into Vegeta's side, his left arm bending around the shin of his foe. His black eyes leered over at the opponent as agony rushed along his nervous system. Streaks of white rushed through the air around him as clouds shattered before he was launched away. A building broke his flight, and he broke eight stories worth of glass from it while cratering the concrete façade.
"Agh!" the Saiyan shouted angrily lunging forward from the building while beads of sweat ran down from his face. His white gloved hands clenching tightly to maintain balance while his ears rang with the first thuds of his heartbeat.
The invader snickered while raising his right hand, the index and middle fingers pointing to the sky while his ring and pinkie fingers pressed into the palm. Purple energy floated before this posture conjuring a crackling ball of energy that sparked out with wild arcs of light. His red eyes flashing as he looked toward the Saiyan boy. Disdain causing his lip to curl.
"Begone!" the intruder roared flinging the blast forward. Its edge compressed as it cut through the air arrow-like. The sky seemed to darken in comparison as Vegeta Brief looked up at it.
'Bwoom!' it struck something else releasing a black cloud. The vaporous smoke billowed into the damaged office building and out the other side through the broken panes of glass.
Two outlines were positioned within the smoke cloud, that in a different era would have instilled intimidation had they been larger. The first shorter than the second, palming branches of black hair rushing off from his head while a gi flapped in the breeze of his attack. The second taller with a wild mane of hair that switched and waved about in the tremors of the countered attack.
"Heya, Vegeta, need a hand?" the first smiled turning to the second. His orange gi waved over a black undershirt, a pattern than his ancestor may have worn once or twice before but definitely his own. The smile though was one to one with said ancestor and the boy bore his name: Son Goku.
"C'mon I didn't even use Super Saiyan yet," the eldest of the trio snickered rubbing some of the tear streaks from his face.
The third looked back to them and shook his head, his tee shirt flapping while his training pants went taut with the wind." This guy's not a joke. You should have transformed as soon as you could," Raditz noted as the cloud was pushed aside by the wind.
"Humph, three of you now? Well, together your power isn't too bad. Perhaps I will get my challenge from you yet," the invader remarked, his tail covered in its brown fur waving back and forth.
Raditz looked back to his younger cousin and then to Vegeta." Let's transform to beat this guy. No sense holding back if he can thrash Vegeta like that," the long-haired warrior sighed clenching his fists.
"He didn't thrash me, you moron. I had him right where I wanted him!" Vegeta shouted.
"Didn't look that way to me Vegeta," Goku pouted slightly, his eyes trailing down.
"Shut up, Goku," Vegeta replied before shaking his head, their larger adversary floating in the air and sighing.
"Are you three going to fight me or should I just wipe you all out now?" he cockily remarked, a wreath of green light appearing around his cloaked torso. Thin arrow heads emerging as if preparing to launch an attack.
Vegeta, Goku, and Raditz all looked at him and shook their head." Hey, we're not getting wiped out!" Goku shouted clenching his fists. His head lowering as lightning and discharge sparked from his torso." And you're still gonna pay for everything you've done!" a serious tone came over the young man's voice as his eyes caught the birth of carnage below.
"HAAA!" with his shout a golden column of energy shot into the air. His black pupils vanished, the planet rocking with the release of power that it had not experience in full in sometime. Each follicle of his black hair twisted upward it a burning spike that tinted with the hue of the golden energy around him. A grimace crossed his face as the stressful form wreathed his young body.
Behind him, Vegeta and Raditz, both of whom with more experience transitioned into the form as well. A golden sun appearing opposite the opponent as their three auras intertwined into a sphere." What Goku said, I wasn't too serious before but if you really think you're something special. I'll tear you down a few dozen pegs, you space trash," the blue donning Saiyan hybrid remarked, aggressively.
His features, still shrouded, were not overly impressed by the display. A snicker parted his lip and he nodded." What an increase in strength. That's impressive for sure, but better than me? I haven't even loosened up yet!" his hand swiped out sending the hail of green missile forward.
The trio weaved backward, the barrage tracing them trough he air. Every hundred yards they flew the blasts exploded igniting the sky in a scorching jade flame. Tremors shook the ground beneath them. Their golden wreathed frames whipped back amid the explosions hiding behind the shelter of the choking clouds of smoke that followed each detonation.
The three Super Saiyans looked at one another within their cover, sweat forming on their brows." Okay, he didn't seem impressed at all," Raditz commented looking back at the clouds as if to track something coming.
"No, he didn't. Uh, who the heck is this guy, Vegeta?" Goku scratched the back of his head. The teal pupils of his eyes trailing over to the eldest of the three.
"Tch, hell if I know. You can tell just like me, his ki's weird," Bulma's descendant sighed, as the clouds began to part.
"Yeah," Raditz nodded, until a gloved fist shattered into his cheek.
His maned head of golden hair shimmered for a moment, then it tore across the sky. His body trailed behind it in a sonic cone, sound shattering hundreds of times over as he ripped across the skyline. The crater that he formed at the horizon line encompassing much of it as the Earth seemed to jostle out of position. Final booming claps of thunder following his impact as other craters spread about him.
The cloaked opponent chuckled to himself, a faint trail of energy dancing about his body." And here I thought Super Saiyan would be a challenge," he smirked his left leg having already shot around.
Vegeta's eyes broadened as he saw Son Goku Junior doubled over. A trail of crimson escaped the boy's mouth floating in the air for a moment before evaporating. Searing green energy rippled from the indent in the young Saiyan's stomach, blasting away part of his gi while igniting the sky. His body then careened to the distance disappearing much as Raditz's had.
"W-what? Super Saiyans, two of them, just like that?" Vegeta grunted in abject terror. A bead of sweat rolled down the side of his face while a quiver poised itself in his lip. His eyes turned ever so slowly toward the invader, who looked at him with a sidled glance from his crimson hued eyes." What...what the hell are you!?" the hybrid Saiyan gulped heavily.
"I-" the invader began to speak, until a volley of golden energy bullets escaped from Vegeta's hand.
Explosions swallowed the point in the sky, the Saiyan shouting from the bottom of his fear-stricken heart." Dadadadaadadadadadadada!" he roared continuously, his hands shooting forward in a single golden blur.
The blasts piled and piled, swelling together in a massive orb of light that temporarily blotted out the sun. Vegeta's blasts stalled with this explosion as his frustration and fear took hold once more, forcing him forward in a lurched position. Expelling such energy, so quickly, was new and experience that came only from a battle for life rather than a spar for glory at a tournament.
'That had to do something, he took that head on!' Vegeta grunted through his clenched teeth, his blonde hair waving as he gulped.
'Fwoom!' the smoke dispersed casually, as the invader's hand slapped it to the wayside.
His cloak was full destroyed revealing his features in full. His eyes were indeed crimson in color and a cruel smile found its way across his scarred face. His white hair hung in a messy array of spikes and palms that cast off in numerous directions. Across his chest a piece of scavenged leather armor rested while a black tight shirt rested beneath. At his waist a belt containing numerous pouches rested as matching black tights reached into his boots.
"To answer your question, I am Balleav, a conqueror from the Planet Trypa. And I heard tales of those from the Earth beings of immense strength and skill, worthy to test my strength against. Yet all I find is children and weak children at that!" the invader shouted, his aura of energy expanding out in a green tide. Tongues of which striking the hybrid Saiyan's body as he trended backward.
"Now, join your friends and accept the end! This planet is to be destroyed!" Vegeta's chest was crunched by a palm strike, his eyes tearing immediately as he felt ribs creak under the strain. Breath left with a crimson stream from his mouth as he shot across the sky in a devious flash of force. A crater sprawled out among those of Goku Junior and Raditz.
Balleav pushed his right and left hands forward, a spark of green energy shimmering there. It quickly pulsated outward from its central core, sending flashes of green lightning off his body and into the surrounding air. His hair rose upward with the energy while his red eyes narrowed, a smirk forming across his face. This action had been taken numerous times before and was sure to take place numerous times after.
'Of all the times for Uub to be in Universe Six,' a white cape flapped from atop a mountain, before vanishing from sight.
'SCHOOOM!' the that carved out blasted across West City. Buildings being torn and thrown around while tons of rock and concrete were reduced to ashes. The trench it cut through the ground increasing as it reached toward the horizon at insane speed.
'FWOOSH!' it met a wall of force and was sent shooting into the air. Its light shot upward into space quaking the Earth beneath it while tinging all of its pure blue skies a pale blue shade.
Standing in the point of deflection was a tall figure. They bore a purple dogi with a blue belt at the waist their shoulders hidden behind a broad white mantle with pointed edges that led to a white cape. Atop their head a turban with purple top, its fabric tightly drawn while pointed ears twitched and flexed. The figure cracked a smile as their green skin glistened beneath the sun's rays.
"Thank you for coming Piccolo," an aged blue haired woman said, her blue eyes turning back toward the cratered ground where the Saiyan children were. Her graying hair blowing as she looked at the distance.
"Bra," Piccolo looked at the woman, noticing her buttoning a coat over her attire." You aren't seriously planning on fighting here."
Vegeta's daughter tied her hair back and removed her glasses, crushing them in her hands. " I am. Caulifla and Kale are both looking far younger than us in Universe Six, they call Pan and I granny now. I have to show that just because we don't fight much anymore, we still can. Dad's looking down from somewhere."
Piccolo's eyes narrowed, and he nodded." I didn't get to know you while you were young and growing up. I only met you years after Kami and I were split by those monsters again, but I can tell you're Vegeta's daughter. I'll take them to the Lookout so Dende can heal them, don't get yourself killed."
Bra in her aged state cracked a snide smile." Don't worry! This guy's nothing!" the half-Saiyan, the last left on Earth, roared. A trail of golden energy springing forth from her feet and shaking the ground.
Balleav the invader paused, his eyes growing. White clouds that were overhead rolled into one another and puled toward that outskirt of West City. Tumbles of thunder pealed through the air and tremors split the ground. Dust and debris rising up in these stress lines spreading from the point where his attack disappeared. Incredibly, his senses ticked upward every bit of his body reacting to something that was coming.
A slightly hunched female frame, wizened with age, walked forward casually. Her footsteps made the Earth move as sparks of lightning dashed across his wrinkled skin. Her eyes looked forward like spheres of emerald, green, righteous anger rising with her stoic features. A fan of jagged hair rose from behind her ponytail while the down hair was tinted its golden-blonde hue.
"What are you?" Balleav snickered looking at the strange figure with a raised brow. He seemed genuinely curious as he eyed this new arrival, unable to quite detect the power that lied beneath.
"I am a real Saiyan warrior, and I don't appreciate you bullying my grandson. He's got the spirit of a fighter and an attitude to match it, unlike his parents, and you just swatted him away. Try that with me!" Bra shouted, Super Saiyan Two glory coating her aged frame. A tremor splitting the ground as a typhoon shot across Balleav's body and split the clouds.
'This is a bit more like the power that I expected from these warriors. Curious why it is a little old lady though,' he mused as Bra's footsteps continued to come forward.
'WHOOSH!' the walking figure seemed to step forward once, vanishing in a twisting burst of lightning.
A left hand bore into Balleav's core, a spike of force ripping through his back. His mouth opened and his lungs compressed. His vision filled with a series of spiking series of glowing hair. Bra's frame appeared there her arm digging deep into his stomach and nearly protruding from the back. As the surprise died down, so did Bra's image leave behind a twisting afterimage.
Behind Balleav Bra reappeared, his right leg spinning around. It broke across the back of Balleav's neck throwing his head forward in a rippling tear. He rotated around and shot down to the battle streets before. His shoulders met the ground with the rotation crushing down into it with a crater. He bounced up from the impact and landed on his feet. Tremors followed with his heels digging into the ground with confusion befalling his face.
The old woman floated in the air, looking down with righteous fervor in her eyes." What's the matter?! Surprised?" Bra taunted from above, her fists clenching.' The next moment he moves, I've got him.'
Balleav reached up and clutched his neck." A little bit you old lady. But for a moment, do you believe I would come here and not expect power like yours!" his voice raised. His green-blue aura exploded outward, and Bra vanished.
Her knee rose striking him in the chin. Clouds overhead expanded outward, a ring forming as he traced upward through the air. Bra appeared above him, her hands interlocking into a ball to hammer into his cheek. He hammered against the top of that same cloud ring destroying parts on his bounding rise. A skip followed as he balanced him, and a second knee strike blasted into his core.
Balleav rose an ax smash battered him straight down. He hammered back through another cloud sending it away in a scattering formation. He flipped around and began to descend with Bra following with intent, her eldered frame moving with a spryness befitting of her youth. Her right foot blasted down toward him and crushed into his chest, doubling his incredible descent and sending him careening into the ground.
His back bent around the upraised remnants of a destroyed building, crumbing it like a tin can. He crumbled within the confines of the stone, several tons of concrete pinning down against his shoulders and back.' This is the power I was searching for then, blasted woman. Her appearance doesn't match her skill at all,' he wheezed, feeling a stream run from the corner of his mouth.
"You should run while you still can. I'm not going to give you a second chance to flee!" her voice boomed, within the golden storms.
Balleav's cloaked frame pushed up from the rubble, clods of dirt and debris descending from his shoulders. His cold crimson eyes looked upward, and his gloved hands clenched." Fufufu, please. You offering me mercy?! Adorable, you must be going senile old woman, your assault on me has not changed our positions at all! This planet, this Earth, is mine and mine alone!" his aura streaked out like a star.
Tendrils of the energy stretched out from hundreds of feet from his central body, arms that he swept around and hurled toward the woman. Bra's eyes grew as the first one came, her body tensing. It swept down and she seemed to phase through it, a tearing sound following as the ground behind her split and cracked in a burning flash. She flamed forward amid the collision and focused as a second tendril swept in from the left.
Her glowing golden frame weaved around it, heading straight for her foe. Every fifty or so feet she traveled a blink occurred pushing her closer and closer. Slashes rained down from her foe's energy whips all missing as she approached closer and closer. Just within the last hundred feet she drew her hands back, the speeds that she used here was unlike any seen on the Earth in some time.
She closed in up her foe, his massive streamers of energy continuing to flail around her. A golden spark illuminated her fist as it came down at him. And then he smiled." Like I would be outdone by a grandmother!" he sneered sending a tendril from his core that seemed to manifest out of thin air.
Bra's core was hammered into by it. A cracking whip sound following as it drug her across the remnants of West City with explosive force. Rubble strewn everywhere along the rut as explosive heat propagated from the blue-green flames of his attack. A sonic crash echoed from the end of said rut as the female half-Saiyan was sent careening away in an uncontrolled tumble.
Balleav took one step, then two, and vanished. He appeared behind her and axed down with a kick aiming for her head. Bra's eyes turned and she crossed her guard, a crashing sound still resounding as the air broke. As she parted her arms a second kick crushed down, and she avoided it before righting and sliding back. Balleav was there with a twisting thrust kick that she narrowly avoided.
Her right hand shot forward, and it was swatted upward, a kick striking the elderly Saiyan woman in the core. She doubled over with the blow and looked up where a fist came down. Her head moved aside, and her elbow spun around to meet it before her left foot stomped against the ground and created a modicum of distance. Balleav closed in in that same moment with a right hook followed by a left jab, both of which finding purchase on her face.
She stumbled backward and regained balance in time to deflect his right hook follow up. Her knee smashed into his own and the fabric covering her legs and his split at the seams. A palm strike aimed at Bra's head and the Super Saiyan Two ducked it, driving a quick punch into the invader's core. She removed it and followed up with a roundhouse kick to the cheek. It spiked Balleav straight toward the ground.
His head spiked into the broken asphalt and then his frame vanished. Space split behind Bra and he appeared there with an ax fist. Her arms raised and crossed, the force of the attack parting over it with a powerful thunder. She uncrossed her guard as it subsided and flew up driving her brow into his chin. The white-haired invader teetered back from it and found Bra's palm in his face.
Yellow light condensed into a small sphere inches from his forehead. Bra's green eyes rose with the rage in her voice as she shouted her father's technique." BIG BANG ATTACK!"
Golden energy exploded out enshrouding all of West City in its glow and illumining the space above the Earth.
The Lookout...
"Dende, I need a hand!" Piccolo shouted reappearing, his feet scraping against the tiles.
The guardian of Earth, now a Namekian nearly as tall as Piccolo hurriedly made his way over." I know. Piccolo," he spoke, placing his right hand down upon the nearest Saiyan hybrid's chest. Who in this regard was actually Son Goku Junior.
Piccolo's eyes focused on the expanding light in the distance and the sounds of conflict that died down." Dende, did you feel anything strange emanating from this Balleav?" Piccolo huffed.
"In what regard?" Dende questioned as golden light surged from his hand. The small hybrid's body before him jolting with the life energy that was being restored to it.
"I felt something with his last attack. Even though he's fighting against someone with access to Super Saiyan Two, he was calm and fighting like it was no trouble to himself. I was just wondering if that something was..." he looked to the tiles. His eyes momentarily looking at the heaving chests of the battered children. His mind racing at the fact three Super Saiyans were swatted aside with such little effort and now this foe was toe to toe with a Super Saiyan Two.
"Divine ki? I'm not that great at detecting it either," Dende informed raising from Goku and walking to the junior Vegeta next. As he squatted down, he continued to speak." Had you not split from Kami when Goku and Vegeta died, you could find out for sure. But I'm not sensing anything like I did when Beerus showed up, so I don't think he has God ki," the Namekian answered his older mentor, beginning the process of restoring Bra's grandson.
Piccolo shook his head.' Then, what is that aura I'm feeling? We've fought opponents before that were strong, but this one just feels on the same level as the Divine threats. I knew for a fact I couldn't face him head on.'
'WHOOOM!' winds began to blow away from the point of impact. Dust and debris streamed within those winds forming billows that obscured views and clogged the airways with smog. The lone black outline of the Super Saiyan Two among this seemed unhindered by the heat or the destruction. Her experience, though years in the past now, had prepared her for this numerous times over.
What she did not expect though was an opponent that was picking himself up. Hundreds of feet below in the glass-bottomed crater of her attack, Balleav was picking himself free from the ground. Shards of rock and stone fell from his white hair while dust and cindered material burst away from his torso. The cloak he wore melting away into the passing winds revealing his simple crimson shirt, now filled with holes and baggy trousers. His right hand reached up to the center of his forehead, where a stream of crimson escaped, and he dabbed it away with a most coy grin.
"I must say that one actually caught me by surprise," Balleav pushed free from the ground. His body hovered just a few feet above it for a moment before snapping up in front of the Super Saiyan Two tauntingly." But your age must have knocked a bit from it. You seemed so confident in a point-blank attack like that and here I am with naught but a scratch. So, tell me, old Saiyan woman, was that your best?" he asked leaning forward mockingly.
Bra leaned back unnerved at the gesture.' Point blank? I know it hit; he didn't even make a shield. My age may have gotten to me, but not that much, Caulifla and Kale aren't patronizing us when we fight them, are they?' Bra grit her teeth to think of a comeback, all the while her opponent leered at her awaiting it.
"My hand must have slipped up just a little bit. You got lucky," she replied, her wrinkled features growing stern.
"I don't believe in luck. Just the strong and the week!" his knee carved into her core. Bra's mouth opened in shock, the air in her lung escaping with a streamer of crimson blood. As tears formed in her eyes, she felt the knee leave." And you, my old Saiyan friend, are weak!" an ax fist followed crashing into the back of her head.
The ground smashed below, a crater expanding out immediately from the crushing impact." It is almost a shame really! I find the oldest sages in the cosmos and look for the greatest challenges and you are what they point me toward!" his hand released a bullet of green energy.
As Bra stood it hammered through her left knee, dropping the aging woman to a kneeling position once more." Gah!" she shouted pained.
"All of that work! All of those stories of heroes! Universe conquering tyrants being felled by Earthlings and what I find are toddlers and grandparents!" another blast rocketed from his left hand.
Bra's arms crossed and it detonated throwing her backward." Errah!" she fell onto her back for a moment.
Balleav's body shuddered, crackling streams of blue-green light shredding out from across his body. His muscles throbbing momentarily as power coursed through every fiber of his being." I waste my time intending to find this planet, to claim victory over the mightiest and none are here! Pathetic!" his voice roared out hurling three more blasts as Bra.
She exploded backward after each, fresh burns appearing along her being." And now, you dare not say anything. I expect banter from those I kill, those that dare defend their houses and the moment you begin to lose you get quiet!" Balleav barked down, his aura continuing to grow and twist.
"Bastard, you actually were holding back," Bra muttered, her right hand bracing her left arm. Blood spilled through her fingers while her mouth hung agape taking in labored breaths.' My body's definitely not holding up like I thought it would,' she thought while Balleav continued to loom.
"What does that matter now?! I never had to even break a sweat here! I'm not even using half of my power! Just die!" a stream of energy escaped, a long carving beam that smashed into ground before the woman and began to trace after her.
A hand wrapped around Bra's chest as it was about to approach, a warm silver-blue aura, that embraced her. The blast struck the location she was in and upward across the horizon. Whatever was in its way shattered and exploded with virtuous fire, a shattering sensation as it carved out into space and beyond. A single point surely to deal damage somewhere off in the inky void of space.
"Bra, we can't win against this guy," the aged voice of Bra's best friend replied, her graying hair being tied back beneath her farmer's cap.
"Pan? What do you mean?" Vegeta's daughter asked, her chest still heaving and breaths heavy.
"I can dodge for a while, but this form isn't Ultra Instinct, and we're so rusty that it'd take a can of grease to get us moving up to speed," Gohan's daughter sighed looking up at the foe in the sky.
"I know it's not Ultra Instinct, but he hurt the boys. What are we going to do, just let him win?" she growled, falling forward into her aged friend's arms.
Pan looked up, index and middle fingers placed against her brow." We're going to have to trust the boys. They're younger and just had the first real beating of their lives."
"What's the matter? Two grandmothers now? I'm terrified! Bring me an opponent worth my time!" Balleav shouted raising his hand to gather further energy.
Pan nodded, as Bra lost her transformed state." Alright, we can, just give us an hour or so to arrange it. They'll be back. If you promise to wait for them, we'll bring them to you!"
Bra's gaze met Pan." What are you planning?"
"Please go along with it, I'll explain," she mumbled quietly.
"Very well, one of your Earth hours it is! If you take a second longer, I will find you all and tear you apart! I'm here for a challenge do not try to stall me with anymore children or else!" the invader shouted, to the women as they disappeared.
The Lookout...
"That really hurt," young Son Goku Junior huffed sitting up with his hands between his legs. His wounds were healed completely though a few superficial wounds blemished his face.
Vegeta's right hand rested on the back of his head." You think? That was the hardest I've been hit by anyone."
"And he did not seem to break a sweat against us," young Raditz Junior, huffed pressing up to his feet.
Piccolo looked down upon them with a narrowed gaze." You're not wrong. He's far stronger than anything you three have seen," the Namekian shook his head and looked to the distance.' You two, you're putting a lot of stress on these three.'
"Yeah, thanks, Mister Piccolo. But who's fightin' that guy now if you're here?" Son Goku asked the towering warrior.
"Your grandmothers. Goku, Vegeta, Raditz, you three are going to need to be ready."
"Huh?" all three asked as a zipping sound appeared behind them.
"Sorry, you three, I'm glad to see you're okay!" Bra huffed, her blood rolling down her arms.
"Grandmother!" Vegeta hopped up looking at her damage." He did this to you!"
Pan looked to the spitting image of her grandfather's rival and nodded." She tried, but we're not as young as we once were. She would have shown him what for if we were just a tad bit younger!"
"He did this you?!" Vegeta's teeth gnashed his hands clenched. Golden fire exploded from his core, shooting his hair upward into the flaming pattern of Super Saiyan. The Lookout rattled for the first time in many years with the explosion of Super Saiyan power." I'll kill him!" he roared, teeth gnashing.
"Woah, Vegeta!" Goku shouted in surprise at his friendly rival's strength.
"Hey, calm down, she's okay!" Raditz stood up.
"Back off clown! It wasn't your grandmother who got hurt!" Vegeta's head dropped.
'The more things change,' Piccolo thought at the sight.
"Keh, if I was just a little stronger! Then you wouldn't have to worry anymore!" Vegeta's head lowered, his lean frame shuddering with anger.
Pan smiled placing her hands behind her back." We managed to get the three of you an hour until you have face off with Balleav again. It's not a lot of time, I know, but it is enough for the three of you to get yourselves together."
"Granny Pan?" Goku looked, befuddled by her comments." Uh, even if we did have a few minutes to prepare, uh, he's way stronger than us."
'It's weird hearing someone that looks so much like Goku say such downtrodden things,' Bra thought as she looked off to the young hybrid.
Pan leaned on her cane and shook her head." That's fine, you can be weaker than someone at first, you three are still pretty young. You three also have the benefit of being Saiyans, you aren't going to fall for the same tricks twice in a fight. Don't doubt yourselves like that."
"I still don't believe it, an hour to get that much stronger or think of something to turn the tides? No way," Raditz's arms folded over his black shirt, a shake of the head following." If Uub were here or even Miss Cha, those two would mop the floor with Balleav."
"Where's you Saiyan spirit? Don't you want to fight this guy?!" Bra leaned forward, her hand resting on Vegeta's shoulder.
Raditz looked back at her with a rebellious glare." No, I don't. You must've saw what he did to us! I'm absolutely terrified! We aren't who our namesakes are! Stop trying to act like we are! Those guys were strong! We're not!" Rote's great-grandson roared and shot off the Lookout, a trail of while leaving behind.
"Where are you chickening off to you bastard!" still Super Saiyan Vegeta rocketed following after him.
"Guys!" Goku stumbled in his run before trailing as well.
"Boys wait!" Pan tried to speak but they were gone.
Bra looked down and shook her head." Was I too rough on them Pan? Or are they right about that?"
"No, you know Raditz doesn't mean any of that, Bra. They're just shaken after losing their first fight. We had our folks around that suffered the loses before us, and we had a ton of friends around, they just have each other. I just hope they sort this squabble out before Balleav counts the hour out."
Piccolo nodded." Humph, they have backbone to act that way. They just need to find it!"
"Vegeta! Stop it!" Goku shouted, trying to trace after the charging Super Saiyan.
"You can't stop me either clown, I'm going to pummel this cousin of yours until he apologizes!" Vegeta's voice raced out as he began to close the distance.
"Damn it, Vegeta! Get over yourself! You lost too!" Raditz shouted back as the Super Saiyan closed distance.
"After you apologize!" Vegeta went to swing and found himself pulled back by something." I told you Goku, let me-" he turned to find a cloud bank behind himself and Raditz in front, a white glove resting on his shoulder.
"Angry that you lost?" a voice, deep and mature. Bearing a royalty that his own had in unrefined quantities sounded out into the hybrid Saiyan's ears.
"Who the-" his eyes traced up the white gloves.
He saw a man, standing behind him, a flaming crown of black hair atop his head. He wore a blue skintight top and a pair of black trousers that led into golden and white boots. A smirk on his face as coal black eyes looked on at him." Or are you angry that your pride got insulted? That your grandmother had to go in to fight your battle? Hmm?"
"Hey, who are you?!" Vegeta snickered to the man, eyes glowing with fervor and rage.
"That's a dumb question, you know exactly who I am. I must say, you cut the exact look I had at your age. A bit envious of Super Saiyan though," the Saiyan Prince said to his descendant, arms folding over his chest.
"This can't be real."
"Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Right now, you need to focus though. Without Kakarot's brat or Raditz's giving your assistance you do not stand a chance against Balleav."
"Well, 'Vegeta' what if I don't want their help!" snidely the younger Vegeta chided.
"You'll die, just like I did against Frieza and Majin Buu."
"What?"
"You'll die, no excuses either. You are letting your pride weigh you down and make you angry. You need to be focusing that anger at the source of it instead of lashing out like a petulant child!"
"Humph, whatever!"
"Children, it's been way too long," Vegeta's hands met his sides as he looked to his descendent.
"Where are you running off to?" a calm voice reached into the fleeing Raditz's ears, his aura crackling to a breaking stop as he paused.
"Who's that?" he turned to find the source.
A tall man, one that dwarfed him in fact, stood overhead, a long mane of black hair draping down his back. He wore tight grey shirt and baggy black trousers. At his wrist warped and worn protectors from previous combats rested, their dark colors contracted by the white piping and wrappings. At his feet boots befitting a martial artist, black with white piping not too dissimilar to the young Saiyan before him.
"Your namesake, 'who you are nothing like' as you put it," Raditz replied to his younger descendant, arms folding over his chest.
"And before you say anything else, I understand the desire to flee from defeats. Your probably not even angry at Pan or Bra, just the fact you lost, and you're embarrassed enough to turn tail and flee."
Raditz Junior looked at the man and shook his head." What do you know of running away? Huh, you were a hero and still are, everyone I know that knows you touts that constantly."
"That's because everyone that you know, only met me after I reformed. I was always fleeing from the problems of the Planet Trade when I was a part of it. I would lose and then hurry back to Frieza to lick his boots, it was aggravating, I was so weak, so powerless. It shook me to my core. Then, I met Kakarot again, and he was the one that broke me from that destiny of being a whipping boy."
"Seriously?!"
"Kakarot is a once in a Universe person. Always forgiving and kind and powerful, a bit of an idiot at times, and most definitely someone who never realized the full impact he had on people. He also was a teacher for moments like this, moments about running away."
"Where are you going to run to? Balleav isn't going to let you just hang around once he claims the Earth, you'll be at the top of his radar, a target. And you'll have to fight him alone."
"Well, I don't know, but I can't beat him!"
"Alone, you are probably right, but assuming that the others and yourself can't? That's a mistake."
"Heheh, trying to catch up to 'em huh?" a chuckling voice caught Son Goku's ears, a cloud rolling in his view of Vegeta and Raditz.
"Mister, sorry but I have to get to those two! They're normally not this-" a hand reached out and grabbed the young hybrid by the shoulder.
"Don't worry about it, okay? They're gonna calm down," the voice was airy, energetic. In some ways it was familiar to Son Goku Junior in other ways it was a total mystery a voice he had never heard before in his life.
"How d'ya know that?" he turned to look at this man, for the first time.
He stood quite a bit taller than the hybrid in a flowing blue gi top tied at the waist with a white belt. Orange bands wrapped around the man's honed wrists while white tape was bound around his black martial arts boots. A wind caused his dark blue pants to flap in a hasty motion alongside the palming hair atop his head. A smile crossed his peach hued face while he scratched the back of his head.
"Well, cause things kind of work out when ya need 'em too," the man, with palming black hair smiled.
And in that moment, Goku recognized him." You're...you're the real Goku! My great-great grandpa!" the child shouted with utmost glee, his eyes beginning to water with the realization.
"When you put it that way, I sound like super old, he he," the hero smiled to his removed grandson, the restraining hand moving down into a handshake." Nice to meet you, Son Goku! I'm Son Goku! Huh, that sounds pretty weird, doesn't it?"
"Haha! I guess it does! But what are you doing here grandpa, aren't you dead? And why didn't you fight Balleav! And-"
"Hey, there Goku, that's a whole lotta complicated stuff that I don't think you want to hear. I'm here right now because you need me to be," he looked on through the clouds and down toward where Balleav was.
"This Balleav guys pretty tough, and considering how you three got treated last time, he's stronger than the three of you alone. But that's where the challenge is, you can push yourselves to beat him. I know it."
"There's no way, he beat a Super Saiyan Two and we aren't that strong either!" the small hybrid sighed tilting his head down.
Goku ran his left hand through the boy's hair and laughed." Well, not with that attitude. You guys aren't going to have it easy, but a good fight will help you break through your limits. Heck, Raditz, Vegeta, and me, we're still getting stronger in our own ways. You've got this Goku, just keep fighting."
"But he beat us like you said, all three of us."
"Yeah, I know, that's what Majin Buu did to Raditz, Vegeta, Turles, and me, but we didn't give up. Try and work together with 'em this time. Those two, if they're anything like you are, are gonna work hard to win this fight too. I believe in you," the hero of Earth smiled to his descendant again.
"What if we lose?"
Goku's face turned somber." If you lose, Pan, Bra, your mother, they could all die. I know you don't want that to happen."
"Of course, I don't!"
"Then, get with them and fight. If there's any ill will afterwards settle it then."
"Okay, yeah, we can fight each other once we win!"
"Right, that's the spirit."
"Thanks grandpa!" Goku Junior smiled.
"Hehe, no problem! Good luck kiddo!" the hero smiled as the cloud that surrounded them broke away.
"Goku?!" Vegeta Junior shouted across the way, his still glowing green eyes locking on the hybrid.
"Vegeta?" Raditz raised a brow realizing he was within arm's reach of the eldest of them.
"Heya, guys, glad you stopped. I got a bit sidetracked," Son Goku Junior scratched the back of his head with a nervous chuckle.
"You too, huh?" Vegeta looked down, fists clenching.
"So, it wasn't just me?" Raditz added in.
"You saw your grandpas too?!" the young palm haired warrior shouted.
"Yeah."
"And it was about our arguments and wanting to run away," Raditz looked to the side, a blush crossing his nose.
"Yes, about that, Raditz, tch, sorry. I couldn't save my grandmother and she ended up getting hurt."
"And I was running away because I lost too. We don't have to run anymore," Raditz patted the Super Saiyan on the shoulder.
Goku Junior smiled goofily, a laugh escaping him." Hehehe, great. What d'ya say? We go and beat Balleav, right now?"
Vegeta nodded his head, pushing his aura out again." This time, together."
"Right!"
West City (Ruins)...
Balleav, who hovered above the smoldering ruins looked to the sky. A scowl forming on his face.' I give them an hour and not even fifteen minutes later they send me those same three brats as before. Humph, they were just delaying the inevitable!' his hands clenched angrily as the three golden stars in the distance drew closer to him, his aura exploding out with a wicked hum.
"I'm through holding back on you, you insolent children!" the aura doubled in size, his power rocketing higher and higher. The ground rumbled and cracked as the debris began to lift. Each floating chunk of stone was sharpened in the cutting winds that exploded out from him. His white hair grew jagged for a moment as the aura expanded out to its fullest consuming West City's ruins in the process.
"Funny, so are we!" Vegeta Junior landed on one of these upright stone, his right arm swinging back behind him while his left raised in a claw in front of his face. His Super Saiyan aura died out leaving just the fainted golden outline about his frame as his hair waved.
"Yeah, now you're going to get it!" Goku Junior nodded, his right arm swinging low while his left took a position behind his back. His knees bending as his boots touched down on the floating debris. A breeze moved through his spiking blonde hair causing the crown to momentarily sway about before settling.
Raditz landed the nearest of them, his mane of glowing spiked hair situating as he raised his hands in a preparation stance." Don't underestimate us."
"Pfft, how could I underestimate peons who are ants compared to me?!" tauntingly Balleav blew forward. His afterimage remaining in a goading stance for a moment before disappearing.
'THUUUM!' Vegeta's stone was split into atom, a crater extending behind it. Balleav's fist floating in the air there while the golden-haired youth flew just inches above, him, mouth agape.
"Ant!" Balleav flashed upward with the same hand for a punch. A kick struck him in the back; though failing to faze him it proved just enough to allow Vegeta to dodge. His attention turned to find Goku floating there, leg extended for the strike." You as well!" his body twisted, a cyclonic wind exploding with the whipping of his left leg toward the Saiyan.
Goku gulped as it came, arms crossing in front of himself. The blow struck and his body billowed backward, rocketing away at incredible speed. Ballad went to follow until a ji blast hammered into his cheek. As smoke consumed his face and a second met the cloud." Don't look away!" Vegeta hissed lobbing another pot shot at the invading alien's face. Another detonation following.
Goku crashed into Raditz after some time, the cushion providing a stop." We can't let him land anything else like that on us Goku, or we're finished," Raditz mumbled quietly before shooting forward, Vegeta Junior being the next target for their foe.
Vegeta's eyes narrowed before a kick found its way toward him. He narrowly avoided it by bobbing his head, a gash appearing across his left cheek. The wind that followed was unlike anything the young hybrid had felt and in that same instant a fist came soaring at his chin. He had no time to react or dodge, he grits his teeth and bore it. The fist shooting up toward his jaw.
'BROOSH!' one hit, a cyclone coursing atop the Saiyan's body. Blood rocketed from his mouth after the single gigantic punch. His eyes grew bleary, and tears sat in the corner as the momentum rocketed through him. His white boots shook for a moment, and he was sent skyward. The clouds and the atmosphere itself shuddered and exploded with a deafening boom that wrapped around the world.
'Zip!' Balleav flickered to the upper atmosphere where Vegeta was reaching, hands balled in an ax fist.
Looming against the backdrop of space he snickered." Die knowing that the Earth will be in good hands as part of my empire!" hammer-like he drove the ax fist toward the airborne Saiyan warrior readying to crush him.
"Double Sunday!" against his chin a twined beam of purple energy rocketed up, Vegeta's soaring frame shooting just beyond him in that split-second. Balleav's hand slammed down and carved through the attack with no issues, an explosion bubbling off into space beyond him.
Raditz floated just below, watching Vegeta arc over and past Balleav." It's my turn. Bring it!" Raditz's aura exploded with the taunt, his eyes focusing on his foe intently.' I just need you to wait a second Goku! Then, fire that up with everything you can!' the warrior thought as Balleav rolled his eyes, arms folding upon his broad chest.
"Why won't you just let me kill him? You are going to die anyway, so why try to speed it up?" Balleav rolled his eyes. His foot twitched and his image faded.
Raditz's right cheek compressed and cracked, his head snapping to the side with the blow. A brutal crunching sound followed as the force fully reached through him. Balleav's gloved right hand was pressing forward and it seemed to be ready to take his head off. Raditz's body shuddered, and he felt himself slipping away. A boom escaped as the punch finished its trajectory.
He yanked to the left with the momentum only to find himself grabbed a moment later. Balleav was there, right hand clenched tightly against the side of his face." But since you are in such a rush to die!" green light began to extend from his fingers, heat scorching against the flesh of the Saiyan child and his nearly limp body." I will gladly-"
"KAMEHAMEHA!" from beside Raditz, young Goku appeared. His palms were placed against Balleav's stomach, blue light shining out in every direction like a star. The sky illuminated with Super Saiyan power, and the blast exploded out. Balleav's frame was swallowed by the blast as it caught him, Raditz's body being released and sent freefalling down.
The blue ray carved over the cloud layers below and toward the horizon at ever increasing speed. The young hybrid's shout raised to the heavens further and further, before the attack broke through the Earth's atmosphere. A blue star shone for a few moments as the beam tore off into space. Goku Junior's hands holding it until firmly in its massive trajectory before letting the beam slip away.
Floating several dozen yards away, amid streams of smoke, Balleav gasped. His top had been shredded and his abdomen was revealed with the searing burn of the attack. A few locks of his white hair had singed away but he was still fighting fire. A snarl pursed his lips, and he patted the last globules of light from his body before leering at the hybrid Saiyan child.
"Oh, then you want to die!" he rocketed forward cutting through the air.
Goku's hand flicked into his belt with a clumsy stumbled, a small baton appearing in his hand." Heheh, not really! POWER POLE EXTEND!" he shouted, and the rod exploded outward, shooting across the gap at incredible speed.
Balleav swatted it aside and continued forward undaunted by such trivial means of defense." A stick! You insolent!" he shouted drawing his fist, back, Goku gulping while looking at him approach.
"POWER POLE RETRACT!" he leaned back, and the rod drew itself backward, propelling him away from the downward strike. A sonic boom followed as Balleav looked the several feet his foe had pulled away.
"Is that your plan? Trying to play keep away?" he flashed forward throwing a punch, faster than the Saiyan could see.
'WHACK!' a kick caught Balleav as he reappeared, a white boot hammering into his brow. His head tipped back with the blow and Goku managed to skitter away a little further.
"What a joke?!" Balleav's right hand flashed upward, throwing Vegeta's head back.
'BOOM!' they disappeared with Vegeta being raddled by a barrage of punches.
'CRASHK!' thousands of feet higher and Vegeta was hammered into with a kick.
'THUUUM!' the hybrid Saiyan's core was punched into, blood rocketing from his mouth. His golden aura seemed to shine brightly for a moment before collapsing into his core and firing from his body.
"Vegeta!" Son Goku Junior carted forward, his friendly rival dropping like a bag of lead from the sky.
"Pathetic!" the young warrior was met by a rocketing kick. He felt his ribs crack and the air escape his lungs before the pain registered but when it did, he was sent shooting backward." Can't you see it! My power! It's far greater than yours!" Balleav followed up the kick with a dashing charge.
A forearm strike crushed into the young warrior's cheek. Then, a knee strike that doubled him over. His gi shuddered in that moment and ripped in placed. Then, arising knee strike to the jaw sent blood spinning from the Saiyan's mouth. A palm strike to the cheek rattled the air and snapped his head to the side. A backhand followed the palm strike bashing young Goku's head down. To finish he grabbed the Super Saiyan by the temples and drove a knee between his eyes. Spilling blood from the wound and knocking Goku away.
The descendant of Son Goku rattled in the air for a moment his golden aura exploding away from his body. Balleav looked to Goku and Vegeta as they tumbled through the air and smirked, green light lining his arms and legs.
"You're mine!" the two unconscious Saiyans were grabbed in wreaths of light their descents stopping with a harsh yank. Blood raced down from their features as they were puppeted upward by the invader." You thought you could just pester me to best me? You thought a group of gnats could halt a hurricane! Hahaha! This has been the single most entertaining planet I have ever been to! I'll make it the jewel of my empire!" his arms swept together throwing the two hybrids at one another.
'CRACKOOM!' they hammered chest to chest with a deafening boom. Their limp frame repelling away before spiraling toward the ground with thin streamers of blood dancing through the air above them.
'THUD!' Raditz Junior threw a punch into the revealed core of the invader. His Super Saiyan strength playing out with a bang of force but failing to knock Balleav off kilter in the slightest.
"And then there's you. What do you think you're going to do?" Balleav looked down, another punch meeting his core.
Raditz's eyes were streaming tears, and blood found its way down his mouth." Stopping you!" he shouted throwing another punch. It dug into his opponent to no effect yet again.
"Boy, open your eyes! Whatever you were told, whatever you believed, was false. Those old hags sent you against me to die so they had a few extra moments to live!" Balleav mused, reveling in the assault by the hybrid and its weakness.
Raditz shook his head, his long golden mane of hair waving. Another punch scored before he spoke up again." Not false, we're going to beat you! Those two said so! And when we say something together, we mean it!" his voice came out frustrated agonized pleading.
"Those two are bloodstains on the ground. And I believe it is about time you join them!" Balleav pushed the Super Saiyan away from himself with a single index finger, Raditz's arms flailing helplessly beneath it.
Green light emitted from the fingertip and Raditz kept a firm glare. His blood-soaked teeth appearing as he grimaced to prepare for the worst." You came here searching for the strongest, right!? Well, we're the strongest! Maybe not in power, but in spirit!" he shouted desperately tears streaming down his face.
"Go on and cry about it then. It doesn't matter you die!" the green light grew brighter and Raditz refused to pull away.
'WHACK!' Balleav was thrown backward from the youth, his arms flailing wildly as he tumbled away.
'What?! Who was that and why couldn't I sense them?' he looked around trying to find the source. His eyes focused back on Raditz, who was floating in the air before him with an equally puzzled look.
A hand wrapped Raditz's shoulder, a warm hand of strength and power." You did well, and I know that you have the power to do this," the voice was the same, the same as the one that happened mere moments prior.
"Raditz?" the youngster named for him turned back to see the burly warrior floating in the golden aura of Super Saiyan.
"What?! WHAT IS THIS POWER?! WHERE WERE THEY HIDING YOU?!" Balleav roared angry and frightened simultaneously.
The taller Saiyan warrior pointed to Raditz's chest." Right here, power isn't just a number on a scale. It is a combination of strength, skill, and spirit. And like they said, these kids are the strongest," the hero spoke raising Raditz's hands into position.
"LIAR! I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT! WHY NOT JUST DIE HERE!" a pencil thin green beam of energy shot toward the taller Saiyan, aiming for his eyes.
His golden aura expanded, and the beam scattered upon it." Well, one of us is about to die."
"What do you mean by that?!" Balleav looked around, his senses expanding. Two more massive energies reached his senses.
Pairs of golden energy rose from around him, Goku and Vegeta Junior both being lifted by the steadying hand of their matching named ancestors." What?! Those two, they are most definitely dead?!" he howled as the blue donning Saiyan, and his eternal rival supported the youths.
"Saiyans are far tougher than you think they are," the Saiyan Prince chided as Balleav looked around in panic and confusion.
"Geh! It doesn't matter! I'm the strongest here! I'll kill all of you!" his right and left arms fanned out to the side. Green-blue light manifested there as another sphere appeared in front of his chest." This is the end for you! And if the planet doesn't survive it doesn't matter there are dozens more like it!" the spheres grew crackling with greater power.
"Okay, Goku, can you still do it?" the hero of Earth asked his great-great grandson.
"Yeah," the weakened warrior replied." Like this-"
"KA-" their voices escaped in unison. A blue spark tracing into the point between the battered youth's hands.
"ME-" it began to grow into an orb, gravitating spheres of white energy tracing back toward it.
"Humph, let's not give Kakarot all of the fun," Vegeta patted his great-grandson on the shoulder before pulling the back of his left hand into the palm of his right." You'll do well carrying on with this attack," purplish energy swirled in that point, disturbing the air around it with a plasma-like discharge.
"HAME-" the duo continued causing the orb to grow. The looming threat of Balleav's attack not phasing the far more experienced warriors.
"Your turn kid, you can manage right?" Raditz smirked holding his hands out to the side. Spheres of purple energy growing there.
"Yuhuh," Raditz Junior battered answered his ancestor following the same motion.
"PERISH!"
"KAMEHAMEHA!"
"GALICK GUN!"
"DOUBLE SUNDAY!"
Six voices faded to three as their beams were released and Balleav's rays were swallowed by the beam. The three rays twisted and met in the center point, in a blinding white-blue flash. Balleav's eyes bulged as he shouted against the wave of white that was overwhelming him. Heat unlike anything he had felt before raced through every muscle in his body and beyond. His mouth wanted to open in a scream, but time was not on his side.
In mere seconds it was over, a white flash, and then ashes scattering to the breeze. Three hybrid Saiyan children following suit in downward spirals through the air.
Waves, cold frothy waves, washed upon his face. The smell of salt followed as his mental facilities began to come back to himself. The taste of iron filled his mouth while pain throbbed through every inch of his being. His black eyes, both in color and in bruising, looked over across the bleary sand that he was upon to see the familiar orange fabric of his younger rival and even further down the black mess of hair of Raditz Junior.
'Everything...everything hurts,' he wheezed trying to sit up, and finding his body unable to do so. His lungs heaved trying to get more air and failing to do so. Breaths escaped from his shallowly as he attempted to figure out what happened.
The sound of footsteps meeting sand followed from behind him, a long looming shadow findings its way over his prone body. A wooden staff held by a withered hand reached his vision first and then, the gleam of sunlight against a bald head. A wrinkled visage looked down upon the young Saiyan hybrid with a dangling white beard following in a sea-breeze aided sway.
"Well if it isn't little Vegeta. You kids look like you've had a rough time," the Turtle Hermit, Krillin, said with a jovial tone looking down upon the boy. He had ventured off to Universe Six alongside Uub to make sure that everything went smoothly in interaction.
"Kame-" Vegeta muttered unable to truly speak, his pursed lips showing the effort he was putting out.
Krillin squatted to meet him." Yep, that's me, the Turtle Hermit. You kids could probably use some help, huh?" he rose looking in a direction the young Saiyan could not see. A clearing of the throat followed." Turtle! Get the bag of Senzu Beans from the kitchen! These kids need them!"
"Alright, I'll get them," the now thousand-year turtle said, its flippers meeting the ground repeated as it marched toward the Kame House.
"W-where's Vegeta?" the child asked weakly.
Krillin raised a brow and a wistful smile." I can't answer that question, he's been gone for a long while now. Hehe, he'd be pretty proud of whatever you kids did though. Something serious must have been here."
"No...he...he was here. He helped us..."
The sage sighed." Woah, there, you must've bumped your head. Just relax, Turtle will have those Senzu Beans coming really quick."
"B-but...we...saw..." Vegeta panted his head leaning backward.
"Uh, Krillin, we only have three left!" Turtle's voice escaped from the Kame House.
"That's more than enough! If I need more, I will have to see Korin! Bring them here!" the sage shouted back to the ancient turtle.
"Okay, then, here I come."
The Lookout...
"They're okay! That's a relief, thanks for letting me know Krillin!" Bra replied into her cellphone letting out a sigh of relief.
Pan likewise did the same." That's good to hear, those boys, they really went all out to beat Balleav."
Bra nodded." They certainly did."
"Humph, did you expect anything less?" a gruff tone reached the aging daughter of Bulma and Vegeta's ears. Her head snapping immediately to find the source.
"Dad?" she looked around in confusion.
Pan's periphery filled with a familiar blue gi at that same moment, palming black hair dancing in the corner of her eyes." Grandpa?" she turned to find him and there was nothing.
"Keep on the three of them. They need to guidance you two," a third familiar voice came from the ether, everyone on the Lookout hearing it.
Piccolo folded his arms over his chest and lowered his head." Well, well, those are voices for sore ears."
"They've always been watching," Dende seemed confused looking around for the sources of these events and not finding them.
"Of course, they have, that's just like them," Grandmother Bra smiled looking to the blue sky overhead with a smile.
And so, even years later, there will always be heroes, and always adventures to be had. Those that were left behind in the past pave the way for the future, that is their legacy. And such is the Legacy of Son Goku, Raditz, and Vegeta. Saiyans of the Planet Earth.
Thank you all for reading and I hope you enjoyed. For one final time, stay safe, stay healthy, and be good people,
