The boat docked in Kauai at 9 AM. It would only stay in port until 5 PM. Jane, Maura and Cailin were scheduled for the 7-hour 'Kipu Ranch: Jungle Mountain Trek, Swim & Zipline' excursion. The daughters knew that their mothers would not be up for ziplining and so they once again scheduled a helicopter tour for them.

Jane, Maura and Cailin met their tour guide at 9:15 AM to begin their adventure. After arrival at the ranch, they strapped on their mountain climbing helmets and maneuvered themselves in position for their zipline adventure. There were multiple activities to take part in and Jane wanted to do it all. She enthusiastically led Maura and Cailin to each activity barely giving them time to catch up. They loved her enthusiasm but really needed to stop and take a breath or they would not be able to last for the entire day. Jane was in her element.

Maura and Cailin got a small reprieve when they reached the rope vines. Jane plunged into the mountain pool and Maura and Cailin waited a minute taking in a deep breath before following Jane. Jane of course had to mimic Tarzan's yell as she plunged down into the pool from the vine. Maura and Cailin could only laugh at her antics. Jane really was something of a character.

Maura was happy that she had her camera out and could film Jane acting as 'Tarzan.' Maura secured her phone in a waterproof baggie before she and Cailin plunged into the pool to join Jane. They splashed around for a few minutes before Jane decided she wanted to do the rope swing again. Maura and Cailin just stayed in the pool and watched her.

Maura filmed her again because she knew Jane could not resist doing her Tarzan impersonation again. Sure enough Jane mimicked Tarzan again as she plunged back down into the mountain pool. Maura was happy that her phone did not get too wet in the process as Jane almost landed on top of her. She hurried and secured her phone before Jane grabbed her into a hug and sank them under the water in the process. Cailin was happy that Jane did not grab her but then was shocked when Jane surfaced right next to her and sank her as she took her into a hug. They both surfaced laughing as Maura just shook her head thinking 'Jane really is just a big kid sometimes.'

Jane said, "Sorry Cailin, I couldn't let your sister have all the fun, gotta include my lil sis also." Cailin smiled and said, "it's good, you just caught me off guard. I was not expecting it." Maura laughed and told Cailin, "my dear sister, you better get used to it quickly because you never know what is going to happen with this one around." she pointed to Jane. Jane just said, "What? I didn't do anything." As she laughed at the two sisters. As they got out of the pool Cailin said, "I have never had any brothers or sisters so I am going to have to get use to this but I am having so much fun. I am so thankful that you two are including me and letting me tag along with you."

Jane said, "Cailin, it is our pleasure. Just so you know, I am going to treat you just as if you were my lil sis. If you have any questions as to how I treat my younger siblings just ask my brothers they will tell you. Trust me they are going to treat you like a little sister also. That is how we Rizzolis' roll. Maura is an honorary Rizzoli and now so are you. Maura is special to us and you are special to Maura, so therefore you are special to us, got it?" "Yes." Cailin said as Jane hugged her and pulled Maura into the hug.

They continued their adventures in the 4,000-acre ranch. The ranch had a little bit of everything from volcanic mountaintops, nature trails, tropical rain forest and plenty of plants, birds and aquatic life and of course Jane's favorite, the zipline.

The mothers were scheduled for the 2 1⁄2 hour 'Kauai's Grand Helicopter' excursion. Angela,

Constance and Hope had looked over the pamphlets about the excursion and made sure that they had their cell phones fully charged and had room to take plenty of pictures. They knew that the views would be outstanding and wanted to make sure that they had room to capture the beautiful views.

During the flight they flew over Waimea Canyon, the largest canyon in the Pacific; Wailea Falls, which is the 80-foot cascade of "Fantasy Island" TV fame; the location of numerous 'Jurassic Park' movie settings and the isolated Na Pali Coast that was featured in the movie 'Raiders of the Lost Ark.' The women thoroughly enjoyed the views of their flight and hated when it was over but between the three of them, they did have some fantastic photographs.

After their flight they went back to their rooms to freshen up and agreed to meet thirty minutes later. While they were sitting out by the pool Constance said, "I had never seen Fantasy Island, Jurassic Park or Raiders of the Lost Ark. The pamphlet had nice pictures but it was breathtaking to see in person. With the noise of the helicopter, it was too hard to carry on a conversation during the flight but I appreciated the hand signals that you ladies used to point out the various waterfalls and points of interest. It really was a fun adventure. I cannot wait to share our pictures with our daughters. I hope they are having fun playing in the jungle."

Angela and Hope both laughed as Angela added, "knowing Jane, she is definitely having fun. She loves adventurous activities. I would not have been able to keep up with them. I hope Maura and Cailin are able to keep up with her. Her enthusiasm is a little much sometimes." Constance and hope laughed as Hope said, "I hope they are able to get some great photographs of them on the zipline. I know Cailin was looking forward to that, she has never been on a zipline before. She is truly enjoying bonding with Maura and Jane and I am thankful they are allowing her to tag along with them."

Constance chimed in, "Hope, Maura is thrilled to get to spend time with Cailin. As you know she never had brothers or sisters growing up and watching Jane interact with her brothers has made her sad a little bit." Angela frowned and Constance continued, "No Angela, please let me finish. As Maura watched Jane over the years that they have known each other she felt that she was missing that part of her life. Jane, Frankie and Tommy have treated her like a sister and have included her in everything and she has been so happy. However, it made her realize that the bonds of a sibling are different. Now that she has Cailin she is discovering what it is like and she is loving it. She loves Jane, Frankie and Tommy but it is different with Cailin. I hope that makes sense."

"It does Constance. Jane loves Maura so much and she has been trying to share her brothers and the experience with Maura but ya, nothing is the same as having your own siblings. I am just happy that she is forming bonds with both you and Cailin." Angela said as she looked over at Hope.

Hope smiled and said, "I know Maura, Cailin and I got off to a bad start but I want to make sure that from this point forward that I can be a better mother to Maura. I would never try to replace you Constance, you are her mother and have been for her entire life. I just want to have a mother- daughter relationship with her."

Constance said, "Hope, Maura has enough love to share with the three of us as her Mothers. I know I was jealous of Angela at first because she had such a bond with Maura. It was Jane that pretty much told me to straighten up and be a better mother to Maura. First, I thought who is this woman to tell me how to interact with my daughter. Then I thought deeply about what Jane had said to me and I realized I was too wrapped up in my work and was neglecting the most important thing in the world, Maura. I am so thankful to Jane for being so 'Jane' and calling me out on my discrepancies. She really is something. She is so great for Maura. The two of them bring out the best in each other. Jane is so protective of Maura and I am noticing that Maura is also very protective of Jane. I

love them both so much."

Hope added, "When I first saw the two of them together. I thought they were a couple it wasn't until later that I found out they weren't together. I am so happy they're together now because they do bring out the best in each other. Jane is very protective and my time with her has not always been great but I did hurt Maura and she did call me out on that. I think talking with Jane one-on-one has helped and I believe we can move forward and have that mother-daughter relationship that Maura wants. Constance you are always her true mother but as you said she has enough love for all three of us. Yes, I was also jealous of the relationship she has with Angela. I do understand it now and I am thankful that Angela has been there for her." A tear ran down Hope's face and Angela reached out and grabbed Hope's hand.

Angela said, "Ladies, it was never my plan to steal your daughter. She is such a remarkable young woman. I just fell in love with her and just started treating her like one of my own. I always wanted a doctor in the family. I was heartbroken when she and Jane had their little fights and were not speaking to one another before they started dating. I felt like I had to choose and I didn't want to. Maura was just like a daughter to me and a parent should never have to choose between their children." Constance and Hope laughed.

Angela continued, "I spent years trying to find the perfect guy for Jane and I never thought that Jane liked women, it never occurred to me. It wasn't until Jane told me that she never thought about dating women either until she met Maura. Maura fills all of her criteria, every single box is checked with Maura. Her brothers and I have no problem with her loving Maura. We all just want her to be happy and she is. With Maura she is so happy, I have never seen her this happy. I am thankful that Maura came into her life. Having Cailin as a sister adds even more happiness to Maura's life. Now, that we came to the conclusion that our daughters are happy, do you think we can go to the buffet and grab a bite to eat I am getting a little bit hungry." The three women all smiled and got up to go to the buffet for a late lunch.

During lunch they passed around their phones showing the pictures that they had taken. The sent each other pictures and decided which pictures they were going to share with their daughters. They laughed and had a great time while they ate. It wasn't until Jane, Maura and Cailin walked in that they realized they have been sitting at the table for hours just talking, laughing and reviewing photographs. The daughters all were pleased to see their mothers having such a great time together. The girls got some food and joined their mothers at the table.

When Jane got up to go to the bathroom Maura brought out her phone and showed Angela Jane's impersonation of Tarzan. Angela was still laughing so hard when she passed the phone to Constance and then Hope so they could see. Jane came back from the bathroom and the whole table was consumed with laughter. She wondered what had happened until her mothers said, "Hello Tarzan."

Jane looked at Maura and saw the phone in her hand and asked, "what did you do Maura?" "Why do you think I did anything Jane?" Maura questioned. "Baby, I know you, what did you do?" Jane replied. "I might have taped you on the rope swing." Maura stated. "Might have? Did you or didn't you tape me? I know you can't lie or you will break out in hives." Maura handed Jane her phone and Jane watched herself swinging from the rope as she impersonated Tarzan. Maura wasn't sure how Jane was going to react.

Everyone was silent until Jane broke out in a laugh and then the rest of the table joined her. "Wow, I am quite the ham, huh?" Maura just laughed and said, "yes dear you are, and I love that about you." "Well not to sound sappy but it is because of you that I am comfortable enough to relax and be myself. You make me so happy." Jane said as she leaned over and gave Maura a quick kiss on

the lips.

Angela looked down at her watch and noticed it was getting late. The boat had already set sail for their next destination and they needed to get ready for dinner. "I think I am going to head back to my room and take a little nap before dinner." Angela said as everybody else started to rise from the table. "I think that sounds like a smashing idea." Constance said as she gave a kiss to her daughter, then Jane and then to Cailin's surprise, Constance gave her a kiss to the cheek also. "I will see you all at dinner." Constance said as she walked with Angela back to her room.

When Jane and Maura got back to their room Jane hugged Maura and said, "I am exhausted do you think we could cuddle while we nap before dinner?" Maura replied, "of course, I would love that. I love you Jane and I had so much fun today. Are you sure you will be able to make it to dinner if you nap now? I know you are exhausted." "I love you Maur, it was a great day and I had a blast but right now I need to recharge before we join the others for dinner. I should be fine with a quick nap. Thank you!" They laid down for an hour nap before they had to get ready for dinner and to map out their plans for tomorrow's adventure in Maui.
