Hello everyone, I saw the reviews and i will attempt to slow it down a bit and show how i'm gonna flush out Jessies character more this chapter.

Elite Four: I don't plan on Jessie having a full team till like Hoenn if even that tbh. Meowth would definitely be helpful for sure but I feel like Jessie could end up relying on that too much instead of her figuring out the problem herself. If that makes sense?
Guest: i can see im moving really fast. My thought is Jessie has been a lone for a while and She is still young and naive that i would think someone handsome and nice as james some girls would be head over heels fanfics never get to the relationship like 100k words in and it drives me insane. Also i would only add one more girl tops. I like reading harems sometimes but anything more than 2-3 girls is super unrealistic.
Guest 2: Yeah i know i could but she is an orphaned girl who had her dreams crushed. So someone lonely and had someone tell them their dream could still be true wouldn't hold on instantly to that reassurance. Also it would make sense she had no pokemon or money due to her past life. Chapter 4: Shopping Spree
As we walked out of the pawn shop, almost doubling the money I have, we headed to the mall that's a couple blocks away. Walking I start thinking of why Jessie is so trusting to me.
"Jessie if you don't mind me asking. Why did you join me?" I ask her and see she kind of looks off to the distance for a moment. She hums like she is thinking of her response and then finally looks towards me with a slight sorrowful look on her face.
"Well, I guess the first thing I should say is that you're my first Human friend. I grew up in a lonely house. My mom wasn't around much and when she died, I was left alone with only the house to myself." She takes a quick breath and wipes away a tear and then continues again.
"After I got over her death, I mostly headed to the local nursing school but found out it was for pokemon like Chansey. They still let me learn and I did learn a lot but even with my certificate most of the league sanctioned pokemon centers will still only hire me temporarily so I thought my dreams were doomed." She explained and then got a small smile on her face.
"When I thought my hopes for my dreams were lost and I would just head to poke tech to maybe become a trainer. Then this random guy asked to sit down at my table and I could see the look in his eyes that looked like mine in the mirror just asking for a friend. To not be so lonely." She bumps me by her shoulders and gets me to chuckle a little bit.
"He was the first one to say my dreams could still be true and that I wouldn't have to be alone anymore. I kind of just jumped all in and haven't regretted it yet." She smiled at me. That contagious beautiful smile that made my heart skip a few beats. Then I noticed the smile part and quickly tried to gain attention to what she said next.
"So why did you approach me out of everyone in the cafeteria?" She asked if I could see the slight raise of her brow and with the tilt of her head it gave her a cute look.
"I guess I saw this pretty girl with beautiful crimson hair and thought I would shoot my shot." I said in a joking manner that she didn't like a whole lot with the lunch I got on the shoulder. I could see her blush though which made it totally worth it.
"Ok now you are stronger than you look" as I rubbed where she punched me. Her blush was fading and with a smirk raised her first. "Don't you forget it! Now answer the question!"
"Ok well you just seemed the most approachable it was kind of like my body took me to you without me thinking about it. Like you I also saw the look of loneliness in your eyes and I felt drawn to you from then on and wanted to be your friend." I looked away a little bashfully because that sounded so lame.
"I grew up in a mansion believe it or not. But the house was as big as it was empty. Most of the people that worked there were afraid to talk to me and my parents weren't any better. Hestia was my first friend in a long time and when I met you, I knew that we could be great together and follow our dreams." I took out Hestia's ball as I talked and could feel the warmth that she naturally gave off as a fire type and felt myself slowly grip the ball.
"I want to be seen for myself. I don't want to be the best in the world but I want to be known for being a strong and kind trainer. I want my parents to regret neglecting me and prove I didn't need them to succeed." I said as I shrunk Hestia's ball and placed it back in my pocket.
I look over to Jessie and see her eyes light up with fire and she looks like she's about to explode from excitement. "Then we're going to travel the world and become the best Nurse and Trainer we can be together." She offered me her pinkie finger while shaking from excitement. It's the most confident I've seen her since meeting her.
I grab her pinkie with mine and shake it. "Together" I said with a smile that she reciprocated. After our heart-to-heart talk, we started talking about meaningless facts about ourselves. In my past life my favorite color was red but with how James looks I have become partial to purple.
Jessie loves the color maroon and crimson. She also loves cooking and drawing in her free time. She pulled out a sketch book and she was Tracy level good at drawing. I was super impressed. I'm a terrible drawer in both lives.
When we finally made it to the mall. Which was more of a multi-level shopping complex it was in relief. It was starting to get really hot outside and the nice feel of ac on our skin as we walked through the automatic doors was refreshing.
What I liked about the mall right away was the easy directory to follow as we could plan out the shops, we needed to go to first. The Silph co store was the first on our trip so we wouldn't have to carry everything.
Walking into the Silph store it seemed like a best buy mixed with a camping store. Everything was so nice looking and my inner tech nerd was getting excited. It took us a while to find our first spot after grabbing a shopping cart but the wait was worth it.
There was a whole aisle on bags that you can get that we're pretty much unlimited storage. Normal backpacks to briefcases and everything like it.
Scoring the aisle, I found a nice black backpack that would match anything I wore. It had a few extra compartments that I really liked. So, the basic backpack comes with four compartments.
One for clothes and shoes and that counts accessories as well. The second slot was for food and water. That is pokemon and human food. The third slot holds kitchenware so pots/pans/bowls and utensils. The last slot is for pokeballs and pokemon care items like potions.
The extra slots I got in my bag I got because it was only an extra 1000 poke dollars and would help tremendously. The first slot could hold a fishing rod and anything that you fish with so tackle and lures. The second slot is a berry holder and is made to hold and keep berries fresh for years which I thought was cool.
Apparently, the food compartment can't hold berries due to mis-matching energy signatures needed for the tech to work. The third compartment is for TMs. My goal is to be an amazing trainer and TMs will get used in the future so it should be extremely helpful.
For the last compartment it will hold all my camping supplies. Sleeping bag and tent mostly. Luckily, I have Hestia as a starter so I won't ever need any fire-starting tools in my future.
Once I grabbed my bag, I saw Jessie got a bright crimson one but it had a white plus on it and was a sling bag that was one strap and goes over your shoulder to your hip. It also had slots for pokeballs on the strap going over the shoulder.
Apparently, it comes with an extra compartment to hold human and pokemon medical supplies which will help her greatly.
She almost wouldn't take it though once she saw the price but I talked her into it and told her to consider it a birthday gift.
The bags were cheaper than I was expecting anyways so I was glad for the extra wiggle room. When we got to the camping section. We each grabbed a sleeping bag. Purple and crimson respectively. We also got a huge sleeping mat that can be rolled out and make the ground softer.
We decided to share a tent to make it cheaper and easier on our journey for camp setup time. So, I got a four-person tent so we could have some space in the tent and not be crowded. It also had a put away feature where you press the button and the tent folds back up. Sadly, you still had to put the tent back up.
After our sleeping items we went and got a basic set of pots and pans with a two stove burner and a refillable pokemon fire container that was like a propane tank but used fire pokemon energy. Hestia is a life saver for camping so far.
The last few items from the Silph co shop were miscellaneous. We got some flashlights and a portable shower head that can be filled by a water pokemon. Sadly, we can't use it now but, in the future, it will be super handy.
Once we got to the cashier, I breathed a sigh of relief that they had a sale going that we missed as we walked in. What would've been 14,000 poke dollars only ended up as 11,000. Still leaving us a lot of wiggle room for the rest of our shopping needs.
Hopefully I can find a sponsor in the future to help with my money needs. You can only win money in pokemon training from winning battles that are agreed upon with money before starting. Gym battles and local tournaments were the other way as well.
Easily enough food and water are extremely cheap in this world since there are resources abundant in every region but the Orre region but even they have a good fishing market with the ocean right there.
Once we got all our new stuff in the bags. I took the camping gear while Jessie took the cooking supplies. We headed over to the pokemon trainer outlet. Which is a store for clothes and shoes for pokemon trainers but they are a bit on the cheaper side which works well with us.
Kanto is a pretty steady climate where it is lukewarm most year-round. I decided on grey cargo pants that were a little loose but not too bad and I could zip off the bottoms and make them shorts if needed. I also got black t-shirts and a few purple hoodies with a black hood and the pocket was black as well. I also got some shorts and t-shirts to sleep in that were soft and felt great.
The last items I got were my boxers and socks. As well as a trainer belt that can hold eight pokemon and a pair of purple running shoes with soles on the inside that felt heavenly to step on. Literally it was like walking on clouds.
Once I got my attire situated, I walked over to find Jessie and was surprised to see she hasn't bought anything yet.
"Is there something wrong Jessie?" I ask, seeing that she was kind of in a deep-thinking state. My voice mist scared her because she jumped and almost knocked the mannequin near her over.
"Arceus James, you almost made me make a mess." She slowly put the mannequin back in the correct position. "I guess I'm having trouble figuring out what I want to wear. I have always had my mom buy my clothing and the school outfit was mandatory. It's weird having to decide what to wear I guess." She kind of shrugged her shoulders as she looked around.
It probably didn't help that the female section was about twice the size of the male trainer section. Looking around I saw a female attendant folding some clothes and putting them away and got a great idea.
I left Jessie to her thoughts as she looked around some and approached the attendant.
"Excuse me my friend is having a tough time figuring out what she wants to wear on our journey. Do you think you could help her?" I asked the lady. She was fairly well dressed and seemed to have style so I hope she can find something Jessie will love.
"Of course, sweetie, where's your friend?" She put the last clothes away and followed me to Jessie who still looked kind of like a lost puppy.
"Jessie, I found this attendant and asked if she could help you out." I waved my hand towards the attendant I didn't get the name of but saw her tag and it said Sara.
"Oh, um thank you. Your help would be much appreciated." Jessie bowed to Sara and seemed really stiff.
"No problems honey, why don't me and you go find some clothes to wear." She turned and looked at me. "Why don't you wait by the dressing room so she can get your opinions after?"
That made both of us blush because of the way it sounded like Jessie seeing if her boyfriend liked the clothes she picked out.
I cough and try to hide my blush as I wave to Jessie and hurry over to the Dressing room. I sat down in the nearest chair and was surprised by how comfy they were. I felt myself slowly fall asleep in the chair most likely due to my lack of sleep.
2 Hours Later
I woke up to someone shaking my shoulder and as I opened my eyes all I saw was some blurry red color. "James wake up you sleepy head." Well at least I know its Jessie waking me up now.
As I stand up, I rub at my eyes and let out a yawn. My eyes started to focus and was about to ask Jessie if she was done but when I saw her my mind kind of just shut down.
She looked like a completely different person. She has crimson trainers on that look like the female version of my shoes. She has black capri pants that stop mid-calf and are tight to her figure. They showed off her shapely hips and strong legs. I also bet if she turned around her ass would look divine as well.
She also went with a crop top crimson hoodie that showed off a slight window of her toned stomach. The hoodie was also tighter to her body unlike her school clothes and showed she was well endowed. She was a C cup at the minimum and it left me a little shocked. I remember Jessie being hot in the anime, but in person it's even better.
What really surprised me were the twin braided pigtails were gone and now she had her hair flowing over her shoulders and back while being parted down the middle to show off her beautiful face. (Looks like her hair in the story pic.)
"Well, what do you think?" She asked kind of impatiently and played with the drawstring on the hoodie. I was kind of shocked still till the attendant I didn't notice before bumped my shoulder.
"Oh… uh well you looked pretty before but I didn't think you were this beautiful." I said and blushed like a mad man. Jessie was gorgeous and her new hairstyle looked much better than in the anime. I couldn't look at her without being stunned by her looks.
If I took the time to look at her face more, I would notice the big smile and blush that she has currently. The attendant snapped us out of the awkward teen crush act and asked if she could ring us up.
We followed her to the front and paid for all the clothes we got and clothes were also a cheaper commodity apparently because I was still left with 7,000 poke dollars after our shopping splurge.
That gives us a lot of room for cash until we get going on our journey and bring some income in. But all in all, we got everything we need to start our journey besides basic needs and some pokeballs. We can get those at a poke mart where they are cheaper and trainers get discounts.
Going to the bottom floor there is a poke mart there for ease of access. When we get inside it looks like the inside of a big gas station. Jessie goes around and gets all the healing stuff we need. She made sure to get some for my bag as well just in case we get separated.
I let her take charge here for the medicine aspect of our hunt since there isn't much for us to get right away. She gets a basic first aid kit for us and a healthy supply of potions and antidote since we will be going through Viridian Forest next week.
After that I went to the pokeball section and got 10 of the standard poke balls. Hoping it will get me that premier ball as well like in games but we shall see. I'm not sure if pokeballs break on a failed capture as of yet.
Last stop in the poke mart was to get food. We got generic food for pokemon that will last a team of 6 for a month since the expiration date for poke food is a long time. We wait to get our provisions till we're in Viridian city so we have a much longer life span for the food.
Once we made it back to the poke center, we both crash in the lobby and kind of potatoed out for a bit. Due to our time back it's starting to get dark out so I decide to let out Hestia and we go to the cafeteria to get some dinner before bed.
A burger and fries were hitting the spot as Hestia ate her food next to me on the floor. Jessie was enjoying some spaghetti. "So, any pokemon you want to try and get?" I ask Jessie kind of curious what a nurse would want as a pokemon besides Chansey and Audino.
"Well besides the obvious. I wouldn't mind a Vileplume for aromatherapy or a Clefable or Slow-Bro can learn Heal Pulse which is super helpful." She said excitedly, almost throwing spaghetti sauce at my face.
"Well, we can search for an Oddish tomorrow for you. It would be the easier one to find around here. As long as I don't die from flying spaghetti." I said as I chuckled and pulled a noodle of spaghetti off my hoodie.
Jessie blushed in embarrassment and tried to clean the sauce off my hoodie. Her being so close felt nice. I'm so happy I got her to join me on our journey. After she seemed happy with cleaning the spot she sat back down and finished her meal.
"So, what kind of pokemon do you want for your team James?" She asked with a curious look.
"I'm not too sure. I'm not really picky. I mainly want a team that gets along and that can get stronger together. Any pokemon can become strong enough if given the right amount of time. You must think it's weird huh?" I kind of felt weird but it's really how I feel most pokemon can be really strong in the games if they are built correctly and, in the anime, I feel like that's even more true.
"I think that's amazing you think that. Most trainers just go for the big terrors you see in the conference or what the elite 4 use. It makes me proud to be your friend." She says and it makes me smile to know someone else thinks the same way.
Hesta hops up on my lap and licks my face and cheers me up even more. "Besides you have Hestia over here she won't let you down." Jessie says as she looks at us in admiration.
"Thank you, Jessie, I needed to hear that." I said as I pet Hestia and yawned. Looking at my phone I realize it's almost 9 at night and I'm running off little sleep even with my nap in the outlet store.
"I think I'm going to hit the hay Jessie. I didn't sleep well last night." I started cleaning up my mess and saw Jessie is cleaning up hers as well.
"Yeah, I'm going to sleep too. It's been a long day, but it's been a great one." She said as she threw her stuff away.
"Let me and Hestia walk you to your room and we can meet up in the morning?" I ask her as Hestia sits beside me.
"Sure, thank you James." She smiles and gets a slight blush as we walk up to her room. As we walked it was a nice companionable silence. Hestia was trotting next to us with a wag of her tail.
Once we reached Jessie's room which was a floor below, I said goodnight and turned to walk to mine. Before I could leave, I felt a weight impact my back with two soft globes pressing against me. "Thank you for everything James." She said quickly and let go and ran into her room before I could respond.
With my blush that I am definitely not having, I walk up to my room and go to sleep with Hestia cuddling up against me. As I fell asleep all I could think about was the girl with bright crimson hair and a smile that made my heart beat faster.
And in my dreams, she appeared there as well.

Hey guys so I saw the complaints about the speed of the relationship so i tried toning it down some and got some of the friendship process going.
Jessies first pokemon will be an Oddish and it will become a Vileplume due to its healing capabilities.
