Note: This is my first ever story. Try to be gentle in the stories. Plus I changed up a few things from the initial version in order to have the story make more sense to me, the author, and to you, the reader.

Independence Day I
.
Garbed in a one piece spandex that had its high collar neck down to its shoulder, its torso down to its waist - and the outer side of its legs orange - the crotch area, inner side of its legs, and both its arms-from its triceps down to its forearms-black, three dark orange horizontal stripes on its torsos sides that were coupled with four, thicker black horizontal stripes, a silver orange oval on its waist that sort of looked like a belt buckle that had the letter M printed boldly, a pair of black gloves and boots, small red and black version of the Superman 'S' shield propped up on his chest, and finally, a hooded cloak with its outside black, inside orange, and cape trimmed with gold trimmings, was a young looking male that looked to be in his late teens with a mane of gravity defying mane of scarlet red spiky hair, a pair of violet eyes, a lean yet muscular build and a height of 179 (cm) and at the moment, his hands were crossed over his chest in an 'X' blocking an incoming rain of thick ice crystals that were thrown by the being he was fighting.
"I come all the way to Metropolis hoping to fight Superman and I get his sidekick brat?!" and as for the one who formed the said Ickles? Well, it was the walking chunk of humanoid Ice that had his hands over his head, and its face twisted in a snarl. "ME?! I'm nature incarnate! I'm Blizzard! Either you bring me the Man of Steel or this whole city is gonna experience the next Ice Age!"
"First of all, I graduated from being a sidekick months ago, get your facts straight old man." and as the ice that was hitting him started to slowly spread around his hand, the redheaded male flexed his hands and shattered them and when he stood in the horse stance. "Second - in case it slipped your pretty small mind - I'm obviously way more awesome than my mentor; so I suggest your focus should be more on me than him."
"Tsk." a ball of Ice started to form around the space created by Blizzards cupped hands. "Fine then, if taking you out will force the big blue boy scout out of wherever he's hiding, then I'll do just that!"
"Now we're talking," and as he took a battle stance, the redhead smirked. "Oh, and by the way, try not to whine like a baby when this is over before you can say 'Mississippi'."
And with that, the spiky haired male charged at his opponent as said opponent fired a beam of chilling Ice at him.
.
Meanwhile, in Gotham City, another Ice Villain was causing terror and mayhem.
"Man I don't know why Freeze quit this gig. It's so awesome!" and unlike the person the superpowered redhead was fighting, this being was fully human looking with an average set of clothes except for the odd metallic looking headband on his head, the pair of tanks on his backs, that was attached to a backpack that he hung over his shoulders, and the pair of blue gauntlets that the Ice he was firing shot out off. "That's it you little normies, run! Fear the power of the Ice King!"
However, before he could freeze more people or land, a cackle was heard, a sharp object struck the backpack on his bag, and a figure flipped over him.
*!BOOM!*
And as the male who identified himself as the 'Ice King' quickly regained his step from the brief explosion that did nothing to damage the backpack he held over his shoulder, his goggle covered eyes looked up to see the familiar visage of Gotham's Boy wonder, he smirked.
"So, the Boy Wonder finally decides to show himself." the Ice Bender stated. "Like my reinforced titanium plated Ice Pack? Made it that way so that your little toy boomerings won't work on it; with that, my Ice Crown and my Ice Gauntlets, this fight's gonna be a little underwhelming for me, and very deadly for you."
"Fine, whatever." responded Robin. "Can we just get this over with please? I'm kinda in a hurry here."
"Just for that, brat," Ice King sneered, aiming his hand at the younger male. "After I freeze your body, I'm gonna make sure I shatter you to tiny little pieces."
But before the Ice Bender could fire a hail of ice at Robin, his body was sent flying into a car from a roundhouse kick sent by the Boy Wonder's Mentor, and the first Superhero defender of Gotham City, Batman.
.
Within Star City, at the same time, Ickle Jr. was terrorizing the Star City Bridge with a gleeful jeer on his face.
"Just what the doctor ordered," and with no regard for the commuters passing on the bridge with their cars, he froze the ground beneath them with a beam of ice, and erected ice shells that caused a whole bunch of cars to flip or crash into each other. "A little bit of Icy Chaos to get my blue blood flowing!"
Thankfully a rain of arrows, in two colors - one red, and one green - knocked him back before he could cause more damage; and the one responsible for the hail of arrows were the two archers looking down at the Ice Bender: Green Arrow and Speedy.
"Finally!" Jr. growls. "I was wondering what a guy had to do to get a little attention around here."
And as his left arm, now the one facing the archers, grows and becomes more mace-like in style, he brought it back and began launching shards of icicles at the archers, following it up with another volley from his right hand which mirrored his left.
The two archers begin releasing arrows with ease.
"Wait.. Junior's doing this for attention?" Speedy asks, surprised; the first batch of icicles explode thanks to their arrows, but the second set came through forcing him and Green Arrow to run across the tower's width and down to the suspender while launching arrows and dodging the ice that cements to where it hits before growing. "I'm telling you, this little distraction better not interfere."
He and his mentor launched a pair of arrows at Ickle who created a shield in front of himself to protect him but he didn't count on them being explosive.
*BOOM*
And because of that, a hole was created in the shield which the Ice bender used to his advantage by launching Ice at the younger archer who flipped easily over them - while grabbing and stringing another arrow - before he fires a shot at the villain hitting him straight in the jaw, knocking him down and out, something that brought a smirk to Speedy's face as he eyed his work.
"Heh," Green Arrow chuckled, standing next to his partner. "Kid had a glass jaw."
"Hilarious." and as he rolled his eyes, Speedy hung his bow over his shoulder and turned to his mentor. "Can we go? Today's the day."
.
Meanwhile, within Pearl Harbor, multiple ice shards stuck out of the water and froze many ships and the one responsible for this was none other than Killer Frost who continued to use her powers to ice more ships, and create ice projectiles which she fired at Aquaman who dodges and comes down from the open bridge of the ship he was on to a turret, then another turret, before jumping onto the deck which she, Killer Frost, predicted and froze before he could get more than two feet down the deck but thankfully his sidekick, Aqualad, was close by and easily, he knocked out the ce and froze his mentor who followed after him as they charged at the ice villain.
"Come now lad," the King of Atlantis, Aquaman, had stated. "Don't tell me you're not excited."
"Right now, my King," the dark-skinned Atlantean told him in a very formal tone as he ducked under a shot of ice, before faking right, getting Killer Frost to shoot in that direction, before taking the opening his move provided. "I am more focused on the matter at hand."
The Ice Bender focused her attack at the younger Atlantean but he jumped, pulled out the water-bearers on his back, that formed into dual maces (which caused the eel tattoos on his arms to give out a bright glow) and blocked the ice shards that came his way that ended up freezing his hands to his handles in an ice rock which he used to deliver a strong upper cut to her chin that knocked her out cold, quite easily, but not before it shattered.
He sheathed the Ice Maces on his back and dismissed the glow of his arms as he stood over the Ice Villain's unconscious body while his mentor walked up to stand next to him.
"Well?" stated the said mentor in question. "Was I right?"
"Yes, I am excited." admitted Aqualad. "Today's the day."
.
And finally, in Central City, ice covered the edges of a hole in a jewelry store and the one responsible for this is none other than Captain Cold, who was currently trapped by the Scarlet Speedster, and his sidekick, running circles around him as he tried, and repeatedly failed, to hit them with his ice gun because of how fast the duo were.
"Stealing Ice?" stated the Flash, as he was still running around in circles "Really? Isn't that a bit cliché for you of all people, Captain Cold?"
"Come on!" Kid Flash called out. "We don't have time for this!"
And as he slipped his red goggles over his green eyes, cutting out of the circle he and his mentor created, he headed for Cold's back however Cold saw this, quickly turned around and aimed his cold gun at the yellow speedster but unfortunately, the Ice beam he shot was too slow and because of that the said Speedster in question dodged it - barely, as some of the Ice hit his shoulder - ran up to the Ice villain, snagged the gun out of said villains hand and - after running one more quick circle around him to disorient him - knocked the said ice villain with a hard cross to the face that sent him flying back a good five or six feet to the side, and out for the count.
"Jeez, kid." Flash stated, walking up to his partner. "Calm down."
"Oh, please!" Kid Flash cries out in annoyance, with the Cold Gun in his hand. "You'll chat it up with the cops, with bystanders, with Cold even." he gestures to the now unconscious criminal to prove his point. "No. No way!" he steps up to his mentor, despite the height difference Flash seems to actually be taking him seriously. "Today's the day!" his bright green eyes are glowing with excitement. "We're not ruining this!"
.
(...Time Skip…)
.
Batman, Robin, Aquaman, Aqualad, Green Arrow, Speedy, and the redheaded partner of the Man of Steel, stood before the Hall of Justice as a crowd of adoring fans cheered them on from a controlled environment.
"Welcome to the Hall of Justice." Gotham's Dark Knight stated. "Headquarters of the Justice League."
And as soon as he finished his sentence, the familiar figures of the Flash and Kid Flash blurred in front of the group.
"Aw, man!" he, Kid Flash, whined. "I knew we'd be the last ones here."
And at the irony of the speedsters words, some of the gathered heroes couldn't help but chuckle.
.
.
As they walked towards the entrance of the HOJ with the spiky redhead leading, and Batman and Robin following behind, one of the onlookers spoke quietly.
"Look, over there!" they said. "That's Superman's sidekick: Maelstrom!"
"Is that Batman?" another one stated. "I can see Flash and Flash Jr."
"His name is speedy," a third one stated, correcting the second with a deadpan. "Duh."
"No," a fourth one stated. "That's Green Arrow's sidekick."
"Well," a fifth one stated. "That doesn't make any sense."
And as this was going on, the group of sidekicks and heroes were having a conversation of their own.
"So kids," Green Arrow stated. "Ready to see the inner sanctum?"
"Born that way." Speedy stated, unaware that that part might actually be true. "After all this time, it's nice to finally get some respect."
"I'm glad we're all here." Aqualad added. "Seeing as it would be dull if it were just one of us here on our own."
"Be glad you're not the youngest member of the Justice League, then." Maelstrom stated, having easily picked up on the conversation behind him. "Because, while being a part of them is exciting, it gets pretty lonely when there's no one your age to talk to in meetings." of course, Maelstrom was unaware of the glancing exchange between the older members of the League as he said this then, though, as he and the group of heroes reached the first leg of their destination, he paused. "Oh and by the way, try not to be a little overwhelmed when you see the hall."
"You're overwhelmed, Simon was underwhelmed; why isn't anybody ever just whelmed?" Robin asks, as they walk through the doors leading into the Hall of Justice. "Oh." he manages, staring up at the statues of the initial Justice League members. "Maybe that's why."
Eventually, the group arrive at a large door with the words 'AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY' written boldly and watched as it slid open to reveal the forms of Martian Manhunter and Red Tornado, a human-sized red robot, standing in the doorway.
"Robin, Speedy, Aqualad, Kid Flash," he, Martian Manhunter, stated with a calm but monotonic and formal tone in his voice. "Welcome."
He led the group inside, with the two protogés, Robin and Kid Flash, leading, and as he moved, he continued his speaking.
"You now have unlimited access to our gym, our fully stocked gallery," he paused as he - and the group behind him - stopped in front of a pair of doors before watching as it slid open to reveal what was inside. "And of course... our fully stocked library."
The scarlet speedster turned to the four teenagers. "Make yourself at home."
And as Robin and Kid Flash literally jumped into their chairs - as Aqualad calmly took the one across from them - Speedy remained standing, and frowned, while his gaze was aimed at the mentors, and Maelstrom, who were speaking amongst themselves.
"Quick debrief to discuss the coincidence of five Ice Villains attacking on the same day." Batman, meanwhile, stated before he then turns to the teens. "We shouldn't be long."
Then as he turns to another door a fisheye camera pops out before a robotic female voice speaks: Recognized: Batman; 0-2, Maelstrom; 0-9, Aquaman; 0-6, Flash; 0-4, Green Arrow; 0-8, Martian Manhunter; 0-7, Red Tornado; 1-6. Then as the voice was silent, the door behind the camera illuminated before the words 'JUSTICE LEAGUE MEMBERS ONLY' had appeared on it.
Just as the various members of the Justice League were about to walk through the door, however, Speedy decided to let his voice known once more.
"That's it?" he, the said archer in question, had stated while crossing his arms since his eyes can't show his emotions due to the lenses of the mask he wore over them. "You promised us a real look inside, not a glorified backstage pass!"
"Dude, it's a first step." stated a frowning Maelstrom. "Chill."
"Not exactly how I would put it but I would listen to the words of young Maelstrom if I were you Speedy." and with a calm tone, Aquaman added his piece. "You've been granted access a select few others are able to get."
"Oh, really?" questioned Speedy, gesturing up to a group of people taking pictures on the other side of - presumably - soundproof glass. "Who cares which side of the glass we're on?"
"Roy..." tried Green Arrow, who even used his sidekick's civilian name to attempt to get through to the teenager. "You just need to be patient."
"What I need," Roy all but growled. "Is respect!"
"And you think acting like that will get you respect?" this, Maelstrom asked, with a quirked eyebrow, while ignoring how once upon a time, this would make him hypocritical. "Acting like a brat who yells and whines when you don't get your way immediately, and then demands what you feel is entitled to you?"
"I'd like to see you would act if they were treating you like a kid! Worse, like a sidekick, which brings me to my point!" Roy angrily yelled as he was looking at Maelstrom in the eye after walking up to the blond, spiky haired kryptonian. "We deserve better than this! Why do you get to have what the rest of us don't?!"
"Aside from the fact that I'm way older than the rest of you?" Maelstrom frowned; of course he wasn't intimidated by Roy's stare. "I didn't act like I deserve everything if something doesn't go my way - which, by the way, the exact opposite of the way you're acting right now - so - unless you want us to consider revoking your future membership to the Justice League - I highly suggest you exercise patience, and learn how to show respect when it's due."
"Except in this instance, my respect is not due." Here, Roy turned to his fellow sidekicks and walked to them. "Do you even know that this isn't even their real HeadQuarters? The Hall's just a front for the real thing: an orbiting satellite called the Watchtower!"
The sidekicks eyes widened while, at the same time, the Justice Leaguers turned their eyes to Green Arrow who, sheepishly, turned to a not so pleased Batman.
"I know... I know; but I just thought maybe we can make an exception?" he, the jade archer, stated, but the disapproving look from most of his allies made him recant his statement. "Or not."
"And by the way Speedy, I have access to Microscopic Vision, remember?" stated Maelstrom with a roll of his violet orbs. "Plus, Super Hearing, meaning that like the big guy, I can see really far distances like they were a meter away from me, and I can eavesdrop on a conversation a city away if I wanted to… even if I wasn't a member of the Justice League I'd still know about it; but because I know about it doesn't mean I feel the need to go there from time to time; you'll be let up there again... in time, that is.. once you prove you are ready. If you continue to act like this, then you'll never be."
"So I suggest you stand down," finished Aquaman. "Son."
"Or what? You'll send me to my room! And I'm not your son! I'm not even his!" Speedy said looking to Green Arrow with a glare. "I thought I was his partner… not anymore." he took off his hat and threw it down, revealing his auburn hair, and stared at his friends. "Guess I was wrong about you three, you're not ready."
Maelstrom wanted to say something about the sudden departure but a look from Batman made him hold his hands up in defense, and decide to stay quiet, before the computer behind them blared its alarm and the image of Superman blinked in existence on the screen.
"Superman to Justice League." he, the Man of Steel, stated. "There has been an explosion at Project Cadmus. It's on fire."
"I've had my suspicions about Cadmus." Batman stated, as he, Maelstrom and the rest of the Leaguers walked over to the screen, before the caped crusader punched in a few buttons that showed the building of interest. "This may present the perfect opportunity to-Zatara to Justice League."
Unfortunately for Batman, his words were interrupted by another man appearing on a screen under the image of Superman.
"The Sorcerer of Wotan is using the Amulet of Aten to blot out the sun." he, Zatara, stated. "Requesting full League Response."
And at Zatara's words, Batman shifted his steeled gaze to the Man of Steel.
"It's a small fire." Superman concluded. "Local authorities have it under control, but just in case, Maelstrom, can you..."
"Head over there and make sure everyone makes it out okay?" finished the redhead, as he could see where his former benefactor was going with that, but he would have preferred to go for the blocking out the sun mission because it kinda sounded a bit more exciting. "Not a problem."
"All leaguers rendezvous at Zatara's coordinates, Batman out." stated the caped crusader who, after cutting his com links, turned to Maelstrom. "Report to the Watchtower when you're done with your mission. We still need to talk about what happened earlier today with the Ice Villains; there's also the fact that your history with Mr. Freeze may help us uncover more on what happened." he then turned to the sidekicks. "And as for you three, stay put."
"What!?" and obviously, they weren't happy with that idea. "Why?"
"This is a League mission," Flash stated. "You're not trained-Since when?!" Kid Flash interrupted, making the scarlet speedster sigh. "What I mean is you're not trained to work a part of this team."
"Trust me guys, the thought of getting in sync with the League in fights is tricky," explained Maelstrom. "Especially since none of you have fought alongside some of them. You don't know their strategies or chain of command of who to listen to, especially with a full League response. Trust me when I say you'll get your chance; plus I'm not sure how some of you would fare at the aspect of possibly going into space."
"Indeed; there will be other missions," Aquaman stated, trying to hammer in hope. "But that would be available when you are ready."
"Until then..." finished Batman with a serious tone in his voice. "Stay put."
And as the various members of the Justice League headed towards the Zeta Tubes, Maelstrom looked at J'onn.
"So," he, the spiky redhead, grinned. "Bet you're glad a certain you-know-who decided to do a little 'girl bonding' with her new friend?"
"Indeed." J'onn paused. "Although I do hope they're not getting into trouble as M'gann and her friend were quite excitable when we left them to explore what Earth had to offer."
"That's why I had a clone look after them." with that, he returned his gaze forward. "As long as it doesn't dispel prematurely, and the fact that I haven't received its memories yet shows that it hasn't - thanks in large part to the fact that I had to reinforce its durability - then I think they're okay."
And with that, following Batman's keying in of the coordinates that would take Maelstrom to the location he needed to go on the platform next to the Zeta Tubes the spiky haired male, shortly followed by the rest of the Justice League, disappeared to where their various missions were generally located.
.
And, after appearing on the Zeta Platform closest to where the fire emergency was called - which happened to be a random alleyway - moving faster than the normal human eyes were able to track, Maelstrom dashed towards the location and as he arrived, after getting a quick debriefing from the officers and fire marshals deployed, he quickly got to work, shooting up in flight towards the direction of the two scientists screaming for help before grabbing them gently and dropping them near the fire marshals.
"Thank you Maelstrom!" one said, with the other shouting after him, "You're a hero!"
However, before he could offer a verbal response to the praise he received from those he saved, he rushed into the burning building to see if there was anyone who could still use his help (with a burst of his Super Speed, of course) before appearing outside of the building in flight, taking a deep breath once he was safe enough, and then - after he gathered a large gust of wind - exhaling an icy breath of wind that took out the fire much to the relief of those below.
'"Maelstrom to Batman, I'm done with the Cadmus Mission; no casualties." he stated to the communicator set in his ear while waving to his cheering audience before taking off in flight to the HoJ. "What about you guys? Need any help from yours truly?"
"The rest of the Justice League and I have the situation handled." the voice of Batman stated from the link. "You on the other hand, need to return to Cadmus, seeing as your job's not quite yet done."
"Let me guess…" and at this point, quite a distance away from Cadmus, Naruto stopped and hovered in the air. "You want me to dig up some dirt on Cadmus. See if they're hiding any suspicious activities."
"Take Robin with you." replied the voice Batman. "He can help you get past any firewall and security, plus he needs the experience."
"What about Aqualad and Kid Flash?" Of course he was disappointed that he didn't get to help in the bigger, more exciting mission, but saving the lives of the scientist, who would now be able to see their family, was reward enough so he didn't let that short disappointment bother him. "I can't take Robin with me without the others - especially with the whole thing with Speedy."
"Fine, you can take them too." the voice of Batman stated, after a moment of silence. "But it will be your job to look out for them and keep them in line for this Recon Mission."
"Got it B-man, over and out." and after he ended the communication with the caped crusader, he resumed his trip to the HoJ, opting to use the longer way - aka flight - instead of using the Zeta platforms, mostly because he liked the rush of freedom he'd get from flying. However, as he stepped into the conference room of the HoJ, after passing through security, what greeted him was an empty space, rather than the upset and bored out forms of Aqualad, Kid Flash and Robin musing about. "Huh… well this isn't what I expected."
He walked up to the computer before pressing a few buttons and looking up at the screen.
"Computer," he stated. "Show me what happened in the last 10 minutes."
And after watching the footage of Robin hacking the HoJ computers to look up info on Cadmus, seeing him agreeing with Aqualad and Kid Flash to investigate Cadmus, and seeing the trio of sidekicks leaving the Hall, Naruto rubbed the bridge of his nose in annoyance.
"Kids," he muttered. "Tell them to stay put and they'll do the opposite."
He quickly looked up the Zeta beam log info and saw that they appeared in a platform close to Cadmus, meaning that at the moment, they were likely investigating the building - just as he was about to do right now - which meant he was going to have to play catch up with the trio he was supposed to lead.
Great.
Oh well, the upside of this was the fact that he now had an opportunity to teach his subordinates a lesson about responsibility, in the best way, and for someone like him, that involves a prank of Epic Proportions.
All he needed to do now, was think of the best way to do that.

Disclaimer: I do not own Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, DC or any other franchises that may show up in this story.
Authors Note: Whelp, this is my first story, a Naruto DC story and the Summary alone should give up some of what Naruto can do, and yes, this is a version of Naruto originating from an alternate Naruto!Universe. And as for his outfit? Well, imagine an Orange and Black version of the latest Superhero Outfit Supergirl wears in Smallville.
For reference, look at the book image.
Pairing is Harem, and I have already introduced one of the characters; and as for the Ice Villain Batman and Robin fought? Well, fans of Adventure Time should be familiar with Simon Petrikov. It is he who I based the duo's Ice villain off of; the 'Ice Crown' is basically a ring he puts on his head that allows him to manipulate the Ice his Gauntlets generates with helps from his Ice Pack, and he's supposed to take Mr. Freeze's place in the Ice Family. Speaking of which, this story also takes some cue from the Naruto/Young Justice Story written by HaretaSora. Look it up.
Here's hoping I get a great response.
