"This line is reserved for Official Starfleet communications, you are not authorized to use it. If there's something you want to say, say it now because I'm cutting you off in three seconds."
"Why all the hostility, major? I only wanted to congratulate you on your speech. The Provence Representatives would be fools not to accept your proposal. Declaring a day of remembrance to honor your War Heroes, and erecting a wall memorial for them, is a touching gesture. I found your mentioning of Aeroin Primm very stirring."
"Cut the line, Kira." Jadzia warned. "You know he likes to play mind games."
"I'm being perfectly cordial and you're accusing me of mind games. The company you keep, major!"
"You hacked a Starfleet communications line to congratulate me? Ending transmission." She reached to cut the line.
"What if I told you I know the location of your beloved Aeroin Primm?"
Her fingers hovered, and trembled, over the controls.
"That's bait." Jadzia quickly warned.
"You know where he is?" She asked quietly, almost a whisper. Aeroin was actually alive? Could that really be?
"Of course I do. I'd be happy to release his location to you." Dukat raised a finger. "On one condition."
"Name it."
"Deliver my message-" Gul Dukat answered. A boyish, rat-like smile spread across his thin face. "-in person."
"That's it? You want me to deliver a message? Why won't you deliver it yourself, if you know where he is?"
"Major, nothing would please me more than to know that you will finally be able to meet your favorite War Hero in the flesh. Besides, if this message came from me he would likely never read it."
"Hold transmission!" Jadzia barked, then tapped the console. The image of the Gul blinked out. She spun in her seat to look Kira sternly in the eye. "How do you know this isn't a trap?" The trill demanded.
"I don't. But recovering a Missing in Action War Hero, and it being Aeroin..." She shook her head at the thought. "It would mean so much to so many people."
"Need I remind you this information is coming from Gul Dukat?"
"You don't need to remind me. But if Aeroin is alive, I have to try to find him. I'll be careful."
Jadzia's lips pressed into a thin line, and one thin eyebrow rose.
"Fine." She said simply. "But don't say I didn't warn you." She spun back around and tapped the console again.
Gul Dukat's face re-appeared on the screen. He seemed displeased and impatient, his charms having eroded with the silent delay.
"Send over his location, and I will deliver your message." Kira said shortly.
"Sending." The Cardassian began tapping on his console. That boyish smile returned. "You can thank me later."
"I received the file and am converting it now." Jadzia said, triple-checked it for malignant programs, then authorized its opening.
Kira's eyes narrowed as she read the file. She began to slowly shake her head, then her lips spread to a large smile.
"First floor, Unit 233, Terok Nor? Are you kidding me? This is the address to Garak's shop!"
"That's because Aeroin Primm is Garak, major."
Her smile evolved into genuine laughter. "I don't believe you!"
"Why not?"
"Because he's-" Her voice caught for just a moment.
"-He's what? A Cardassian? Is it so hard to believe that one of my kind could be a War Hero?"
Her smile faded. There was no way.
"Don't tell me Aeroin Primm has lost his pedestal now that you've learned he's your resident tailor."
"If Garak was Aeroin, you would have arrested him for treason."
"I was going to have him arrested, major. But we were ordered to withdraw from Terok Nor and I was unable to notify Central Command as a result. Then the Obsidian Order got wind of my discovery and seized all my files and records." Dukat leaned in closer. "Tell me. Have you ever wondered why Garak was exiled?"
"No!" Kira laughed again, then her voice turned harsh. "And frankly, I don't care."
"Have you ever asked him?"
Kira remained silent.
"Ask him." Dukat leaned back. "Now that the war is over and the Obsidian order has been dismantled, the records involving the investigation into Aeroin Primm has been declassified. I will send you those files as well. You will find everything is easily verified." He tapped his console again. A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "I've enjoyed our talk, but I think I've kept you long enough. Remember to deliver the message."
The screen went black.
