Another World

Chapter 1: Two years of running is enough

(A/N: Hi! Yes. It's me. Again. With a new story. Don't sue me. This is kinda like 'The Next Generation' except that's Hogwarts and this is Camp Half-Blood. It is based on a roleplay forum and this is basically our roleplay in writing. There's a link on my profile.
Other writers are also doing this, but so far, the only people who have published it are...
WritingGoddess12
DragonsHero2

So, this is my own OC, (Olympus Hunt. Please don't get confused with TNG. They are the same character but have no relation to each other.)
So, I hope you enjoy!)

Running.
That's all she remembers.
Running.

Why wouldn't it just stop?
Why couldn't they leave her alone?
Why did she start running in the first place?
Why couldn't she stop?
That's a buttload of why's right there.

The girl weaved in and out of tress, clutching a metal pole in her right hand, gasping for air.
She had been running for two years.
Living on the street for two years.
Fighting them for two years.

She ran into a clearing and tripped over... Sand?
She faceplanted the floor and jumped up quickly, tears streaming down her red face.
Give her a break, she was seven.
The girl spat the sand out of her mouth, not caring to wipe her face and looked around wildly, her grey eyes trying to find something, anything, to help her.
And then she saw a sign.

And it came in the form of an owl.
The owl flew in front of her and she flinched violently and cowered away.
The owl hooted and the girl noticed that the bird had beautiful brown feathers, splattered with white as if a paintbrush had fallen, sprinkling white specks over her.
Its beautiful golden coloured eyes were a rare trait and were observing everything with great interest.

The owl chirped and flew backwards a bit.
The girl stared at it.
The owl flew forward again, and back once more as if beckoning the child to follow.
And follow she did.
She trudged after the owl, tired beyond belief.

Her wavy beeline honey blonde hair was put in a loose and clumsily made ponytail, with some of her hair falling out of it.
Her grey eyes looked dull and lifeless and she was extremely pale and skinny.
The owl urged her onwards and the girl could only just keep herself from collapsing.

And then she heard a growl.
By this time, she obviously knew that when stuff growled, it wasn't a teddy bear saying 'I love you'.
Heck, she had never even had a teddy bear.
The seven-year-old froze, and clutched the metal tighter in her small hands, wishing the nice hunters of Artemis was there.

She looked over her shoulder, squinting as the sun shone brightly and the heat beat down on her, causing her tattered t-shirt and shorts to stick to her small frame.
Her breath caught in her throat as she saw the black beast step forward.
She didn't know what it was, but it was big.
And scary.
And black.
And had very pointy teeth.

It looked like a dog.
A very vicious dog.
The girl quivered in fear once more as fresh tears fell down her face.
She swung the pole threateningly, but it only flew out of her hands and fell in front of the beast.
Not good.
If she had known cuss words, then she would probably be spurting out very colourful sentences.

And that is when she decided to run.
And so, she did.
The owl hooted more urgently now, as she sprinted after it, not caring where it would lead her.
But if it led her to a cave filled with horrible creatures then, needless to say, she would be incredibly annoyed.

The girl gasped as she ran faster, her small legs looking like they didn't even touch the ground.
The owl made a sharp turn left and the girl followed quickly, stumbling over rocks.
Sounds of a running dog came from behind her.
She ran faster.

And vaguely, the little blonde could hear a woman urging her forward.
"Faster!" The sweet voice urged, "You're almost there, little one, faster!"
The girl obeyed and continued following the owl, the voice murmuring short words of encouragement.
"It's closing in, dearie." Another voice piped up. "Almost near you, now."
No pressure, or anything of course.

The owl flew upwards and the young girl followed it up the hill, panting and forcing herself to climb.
She saw a tree and the owl flew onto a branch and hooted loudly.
The girl followed it and ran towards the tree.
She stopped next to it, and gasped for air, just as an extremely tall man came up.
"Welcome, child." He said softly, "I am Chiron."

He seemed to be looking above the girl's head, and sure enough, there was an owl symbol, glowing brightly.
"And you, are a daughter of Athena."

The girl stared at him and had enough air to gasp out four words.
"You're a horse man."
And then she fainted.

~Eight years later, Olympus is now 15~

Olympus POV

I yawned and sat up in my bed.
The Athena cabin.
Best place to be, and best place to stay.
I got off of my bunk and went to the bathroom and had a quick shower.
I slipped on a full-sleeved shirt and full-length jeans and tied my hair up into a ponytail.
Always full-sleeved. To hide the scars.

I walked out of my cabin and towards the lake.
I stared out across the water, sighing.
I felt someone touched my shoulder and flinched.
"Hey," a soft voice spoke up, "Are you okay?"

I turned around to see the speaker.
It was a petite girl, with chocolate coloured skin and really curly hair that went down to her shoulders. She had deep brown eyes that darted around curiously.
I smiled lightly at her concern.
"Yes. Just thinking."

She noticed my expression and instead said something else.
"I'm Johanna. Call me Jo. Daughter of Iris."
"Olympus. Olympus Hunt. Daughter of Athena."
She smiled at me.
"Try not to let your past get in the way."

I nodded slowly.
"Want to be friends?"
I hesitated.
"I have trust issues," I mumbled.
"I'm willing to earn it," Jo said confidently.
I thought for a minute more before nodding.
"Friends."

Jo smiled, and I felt myself, slowly but surely, returning it.
She stood up.
"I have to meet with my sister, I'll see you around Olympus Hunt."
And with that, she walked away, waving a little.

I waved and looked back at the water.
Another girl came running up.
"Jo? Have you seen the boy from Nemesis? Hilarious!"
I turned around and saw another girl come up. She had caramel coloured hair with red and gold highlights and it reached past her hips.
She had bright green eyes and looked like she was about to ride in a rodeo.
Except she wasn't wearing a vest or a hat.

"Oh," She said stopping, before breaking into a grin. "Hi! I'm Penny. Daughter of Poseidon! And you are?"
I smiled lightly.
"Olympus Hunt. Daughter of Athena. Nice to meet you."
Penny smiled.
"And to you as well! You haven't seen Jo, have you?"

"You just missed her," I said.
The other girl nodded.
"Thanks anyway! Also, are you the HC for the Athena cabin?"
I nodded.
"I am."
"Great! You just got a new sister! I have to go now! See you around!"

And then she walked away.
I blinked and thought about what Penny said.
Guess I'd better meet the newbie.
I walked to my cabin, waving to three campers I knew, Emily, Jacob and Rey.

Rey was also a daughter of Poseidon. She had dark blonde hair and sea-green eyes with a few freckles around her cheeks and nose.
Jacob was a son of Nemesis. His eyes and hair are both dark brown and he's older than me, by a bit. He's 16 and I treat him as a brother.
Emily was a daughter of Janus. She was a cheeky girl who was also a bit older than me.

I walked into my cabin and looked around.
No one there.
I walked to the bookshelf and scanned the books.
I heard someone walk in and turned around.
It was a girl.
She looked my age, about 5'6"- shorter than me. I was 5'8"- with long wavy blonde hair. She had big, olive green eyes with a lot of freckles splattered across her face.
She looked exhausted, so I decided to be nicer.

"Hello," I smiled at her, "I'm Olympus, the HC here."
The girl nodded.
"I'm Charlotte, Charlie."
I nodded and turned back to the shelf to grab an architecture book.
"Wonderful to meet you, Charlie!" I chirped.

Which was quite unlike me.
But hey, she's my sister after all.
Otherwise, she wouldn't be in here.
Charlie smiled pleasantly and sat down on her bunk, which was opposite mine.

I glanced out of my window and saw Jo and Penny fighting.
My sister shook her head.
"It's complicated."
"Ah," I smiled lightly and Charlie seemed to relax.

I was still on full guard though. I have immense trust issues but Charlie seemed nice.
And I wanted to be nice too.
"I think I'm going to get settled in," She told me, gesturing to her still packed bag.
I nodded.
"You do that."
And then I walked out of the cabin, with my book tucked under my arm.
I gave her a quick smile before I left and I saw Charlie smiling to herself happily.
