A/N: I wrote this out of boredom and I am sleepy. Sorry if it isn't good.

Chapter 1: Brothers Reunited

4 Years.

4 years had passed since the day his little brother went missing.

After the death of Sabo, He and Luffy escaped their home island and in their way, they met the Whitebeards Pirates. It was fun... they had lots of fun.

Ace starred at the straw hat of Luffy as Marco patted his shoulder "We will find him one day."

Ace nodded, "I know."

Marco smiled softly at him "We should arrive to land in a few minutes. Get ready."

Ace nodded and looked at the hat. Maybe this is the island where his brother is.

Once in the Island, Ace, 15 years old, after giving instructions to his division, wandered the island.

After some walking around the town with no direction, he bumped into someone. He was short, messy black hair, big round eyes, a scar under his eye...

Wait...

"Luffy?" Ace asked with hope and shakily the boy looked up.

"Luffy! It is you!" Ace screamed in joy. A grin forming on his face, that quickly disappeared due to Luffy's reaction.

"N-No! Get away from me!" Luffy cried and Ace blinked.

"Luffy? It's me, Ace! Your brother!" Ace said and Luffy looked at him.

"A-Ace?"

Ace grinned and nodded "Yeah you idiot. It's me-"

Luffy jumped and hugged him. He could feel his thin arm hug him weakly and saw how pale his was. He was wearing some dirty clothes that looked more like a bag than anything.

"I-I'm sorry! I-I will be good! I won't bother anymore! I won't eat if you don't want me to eat! I'll clean! I'll do anything you want! J-Just don't send me back there! P-Please! P-Please don't let Whitebeard send me back there!" Luffy cried and Ace was in shock, what just happened.

Then he saw it.

A burnt mark of a circle, three triangles on top and one below. The Hoof of the Soaring Dragon.

A slave mark.

A slave mark on his brother's neck.

The hug from Ace only got tighter. "I'm sorry Lu... I am so sorry..."

Ace slowly guided Luffy back to the Moby Dick as the crew saw him "Yo Ace!" Thatch screamed as he saw him hugging a shivering boy. "Who is- Luffy?"

Ace nodded as Luffy only looked at the ground "Get me Rena. He needs a doctor."

*Later*

Edward Newgate, also known as Whitebeard, was not angry. That was too short of a term.

He was livid, furious, whatever you want to call it.

He was just informed that his younger son had come back with a slave mark on his neck, screaming and pleading to not let him go back.

He looked around, and everyone was similar to that. Ace was with Luffy to calm him down, to reassure him, everything will be fine.

"The important thing is, that your brother is back and safe with us. And no one will take him away, not again." Whitebeard stated and everybody nodded.

He stood up and made his way to the infirmary. Ace was watching his brother sleep, connected to tubes.

"Why..." Ace muttered "Why him... he is so good..." Ace cried into his hands and Whitebeard placed a gigantic hand on his shoulder.

"He is here now. I will make sure that the ones guilty of this crime pay. But for now, we can only pray that he is okay."

Ace nodded. "He talked about Jinbei. The pirates of the sun. And even about Koalas... I don't know what they did to him, but-"

"Ace... he is safe now."

*3 Weeks Later*

Luffy woke up and Rena, the head doctor made sure he was okay. After scolding Ace that he cannot hug him that tight just yet, she went to inform the rest.

"LUFFY!" Thatch cried "I missed you so much! I was so worried!"

"Shut up! You are scarring him! Let Big Sister Haruta comfort him."

"Everyone shut up!" Marco screamed as Luffy watched the pirates in fear, something that Ace noted.

"Something wrong Lu?" He asked.

"They sold me..." Luffy whispered.

"What was that?"

"They sold me... they told me Whitebeard sold me... that they didn't want me..."

Ace blinked "Lu, that is ridiculous. Why would Pops do-"

"It is not!" Luffy cried "They told me! No one was coming for me! No one came for me!"

"My son." Whitebeard said as he walked pass "Those are lies."

"No... then why... you never came..." Luffy asked looking with red eyes at Whitebeard "Why you abandoned me!"

Whitebeard looked down with sad eyes "I am sorry my son, I-"

"I am not your son..." Luffy said and that broke Whitebeard's heart "A father doesn't abandon his children... and you did that."

Whitebeard didn't answer, he just looked down "You're right, Luffy. I failed you. As a captain and a father. I lost the right to call you son. You are free to leave now, and I hope one day, you can forgive me."

Luffy didn't answer at first "I want to be with Tiger."

Whitebeard nodded "It will be done... Luffy."

*Days Later*

Fisher Tiger watched how Luffy said goodbye to Ace and promised to see each other again soon. Once Luffy got on board, Tiger handed him a Bandana with the symbol of the Sun Pirates on it.

Luffy looked at him "Once you grow up, we will tattoo the mark. For now, just cover it up with this." Tiger said and Luffy nodded.

"Thank you."

"Luffy!" Koala screamed and hugged her friend/Cellmate "I am so happy to see you again!"

Luffy smiled softly at her "Yeah, I missed you too."

"Hey, we are heading to my home island, want to come and live with me?" Koala offered and Luffy shook his head.

"No thanks, I want to be free... I want to be the man with the most freedom! I will be a pirate and set the sea! Why don't you join me?"

Koala looked up and nodded "Okay! Let's be pirates!"

"Oi brats," Tiger said, "Remember that you two still have to help around here, Cabin Boys."

"Aye Captain." Both said and Tiger nodded smiling.

This was the start of the journey of the future pirate king.
