Chapter 1: A Normal Guy

"You called me, My Lord?" Issei Hyoudu asked as he bent down to one knee. He was dressed in a black tuxedo, a katana strapped to his side.

His Lord, Alastor, also known as the Radio Demon chuckled "Oh Issei! No need to be so formal! Unless you want to impress me for a date!" He laughed at his own joke and Issei remained emotionless.

"Very funny My Lord." He deadpanned and Alastor kept his grin.

"I know! Well, for what did I call you here?" He asked as he pressed a button on a radio from the 30's.

"The mission Master Alastor!"

Alastor nodded at his radio "You're right! Issei, I have a mission that only you can do it!" Issei stayed there without moving "Issei my boy? Are you still alive?"

"Yes, My Lord. Waiting for the mission." Issei answered and Alastor cleared his throat.

"Charismatic as always! I will send you to Kuoh to watch over Sirzechs' little sister! Why I hear you ask!?"

"I don't care."

"Excellent that you are into it! I want to gain some leverage over him in the future, and knowing that his softer spot is his sister, I want you to take care if it is needed!"

Issei nodded "Yes My Lord."

*Present Time*

Issei droned of the class as the old man started to speak. He was wearing his Kuoh Academy uniform, and a red shirt with it. He looked out the window, seeing any students having fun.

He used to have fun. He used to have friends. Now, he doesn't have anything. He is just a broken tool, just to serve his Lord, his savior.

"Mr. Hyoudu!" The teacher screamed at him and he looked at him from the corner of his eye "Looking that you know so much that you don't need to pay attention, tell us; what are the three parts of the soul according to Plato?"

"Logical, spirited and appetitive."

The teacher looked nervous how he answered without hesitation as the class muttered between themselves.

"Man, he totally humiliated the teacher..."

"He is so cool..."

"Showoff..."

He ignored everyone comments and kept focusing outside. After class was done and it was time for lunch, Kiba Yuto walked to him smiling friendly "Hello Issei, would you like to have lunch with me?"

Issei looked at him from the corner of his eye, picked up his things and left without saying a word.

"I always wonder what the Prince did to the Ronin?"

Right, his awful nickname; the Ronin of Kuoh. The named him that for being alone all the time, 'cute' for... most girls, and for beating the whole kendo club his first day.

"Hyoudu!" Right on cue, he stopped seeing the president of the Kendo club, Murayama standing in front of him, blocking his path "You will come to the Kendo Club today, and give us our rematch!" She demanded.

He was used to this. He simply walked besides her "I'm too busy."

"Doing what!? Being a bum!?"

"Yes."

Murayama fumed in frustration as Katase patted her shoulder "Don't worry, you'll get him next time."

Issei walked to his usual lunch spot, next to the old school building. He liked this place. No one came here to annoy him and he has a good visual on Rias Gremory and her peerage.

One year has passed since he arrived and his Lord haven't informed in the next move he should do. But last time they talked, he told him that soon, he will do his move.

He took out his sandwich and bit down as he laid on the grass. He heard steps going his way and opened his eyes and saw Koneko Tojo, the pet of the Occult Research Club and the Rook of Rias'. She stood there with a lunch box next to him.

"Can I have lunch with you Senpai?"

Issei just starred at her before closing his eyes and continue to bite his sandwich. Both, Rias and Sona had investigated him before by sending their peerages to him. Kiba is the only one still trying to make conversation with him.

Koneko sat next to him and took out her lunch and both ate silently. She didn't try to make small talk, didn't ask questions, didn't offer him lunch or ask for his, he can live with that.

They ate, and the bell rang, Koneko and Issei stood up, they shared a nod and left to each other's class.

That became his routine in Kuoh. Class, ignore, turn down Murayama to a rematch, eat in silence with Koneko.

After a couple of months, he grew attached to the little girl, maybe because she gave him a feeling of... family? He doesn't know. He was walking back home one night, when he stopped, smelling blood on the air.

Koneko's blood.

He turned around and rushed where Koneko was and he found her fighting a fallen angel in a brown coat and a fedora.

He summoned his iron sword and, in a blink, he slashed the abdomen of the fallen angel.

"Who...?" He asked turning to Issei that stared at him with a neutral look "Another demon? You feel like one... but... also different. Who are-"

In a blink, Issei was behind him, and his head was separated from his neck, as the fallen angel fell to the ground.

Koneko watched with wide eyes as Issei bend down to one knee and looked at her wound "That cut look nasty. I have some bandages in my home."

Koneko looked nervous but nodded. They walked towards Issei's home and they entered. Koneko sat on the couch and Issei went for the first aid kit as he started to patch Koneko's arm.

"You know about us, don't you?" She asked and Issei nodded.

"I do. I also know that you are the rook of Rias Gremory, and I suspect that she sent you to see my intentions." Issei said, his face still neutral.

Koneko nodded "Yes she did, because she needs help."

He finished putting the bandages on Koneko "On what? I already serve someone and I don't plan on leaving him."

"She wants to avoid getting married to Riser Phoenix..." She looked at him "Can you do something?"

Issei stood up and went for some blankets "What do you expect me to do? Fight for her? I don't even know her."

Koneko received the blankets, accepting she will sleep here tonight "Can you think about it? For a friend?"

Issei blinked and shrugged "I will think about it. Don't get any ideas yet. Good night."

Koneko smiled at him "Thank you Senpai."
