''Hey guys thank you all for joining us tonight!'' Demi hollers through the microphone as she dances onto the stage with a bright smile, she pauses as she hears everyone cheer and clears her throat. ''Before I continue singing I have a few surprises for you all, or well I have one but my surprise has two more for you!''
Brittany laughs hearing Demi trying to tell their fans her surprise without spoiling it and turns her head to look at her kids, Liv and Faith. ''You guys ready?''
''As we'll ever be mom.'' Alex murmurs smiling nervously, Brittany hugs them close and kisses their heads.
''They will be looking from above with so much pride loves, even if they aren't here with us they sure as hell are proud of all of you.''
''Alright enough secrets, want to see who my surprise for you all is?!''
Brittany snickers hearing Demi hype up the crowd and kisses the kids heads once again. ''See you in a few.'' She runs her hand through their hairs and winks as they all scowl straightening it out again. ''Don't stress too much, they already love you.''
''Alright, alright.'' Demi exclaims laughing as everyone yells for her to stop teasing and turns to the side locking eyes with her best friend. ''Move your butt up here, before they scream at me again!'' She turns to the crowd as Brittany slowly walks on stage chuckling and smiles as they all cheer loudly. ''You all know her as my songwriter who definitely gives me a run for my money whenever she starts singing, tonight she will definitely deserve it! Give it up for my lovely best friend, Brittany Lopez!''
Brittany laughs waving at the crowd and hugs Demi tightly. ''You are crazy Lovato.''
Demi shrugs her shoulders hearing her fans laugh and kisses her cheek. ''Sure am, stage is yours babe.''
Brittany thanks her softly placing her microphone in the stand and clears her throat shooting her wife a wink as soon as they lock eyes seeing their sisters and the rest of the family surround her all looking at her in confusion because they didn't expect her on stage, she runs a hand through her hair and sighs softly. ''Hey guys, I know you all didn't expect me on this stage tonight and it wasn't really planned either until I got a request that I just couldn't deny.''
She glances backstage and bites her lip locking eyes with each teen standing there with sad smiles. ''As you all know today marks the day that my sister and I lost our lovely mother exactly ten years ago and my parents in law and dad eight and a half years ago, we all still miss them dearly and are sad that they can't watch their grandchildren grow up and turn into the amazing adults they sure will be in a few years.''
''But.'' She continues hearing the sad murmurs coming from the fans. ''We learned to think of all the happy times we had with them and those definitely overshadow the sad feeling, today is a bit harder than normal because it's already quite long ago and their grandchildren they got to hold the day they were born are turning sixteen, eighteen and twenty soon.''
She pauses pinching the bridge of her nose hearing everyone coo noticing her getting choked up and gulps locking eyes on her wife's tear filled brown orbs. ''You all barely got to see our kids because we decided against it trying to led them have a normal life and aside from some accidents with the paparazzi we all succeeded and only managed to capture their side profiles so you all still got to see them somehow, but now that they are almost all adult and old enough to decide themselves Nico one of mine and Santana's twin boys came over to me with an idea which will happen tonight and you all will be the first ones hearing it.''
She turns to her right locking eyes with the kids and slowly nods her head. ''So I would like to call them all on stage, please give it up for Olivia Brittany Puckerman, Faith Marley Pierce and Alexander Brad, Nicolas Lio and Valerie Samantha Lopez!''
She smiles lovingly as they walk out onto the stage waving at the crowd as they burst out into cheers and hugs them tightly, she turns back to the crowd as they all lower their headsets and turns to Alex knowing they agreed on him talking because he never stutters while holding speeches.
''Hey you all, as you already heard I am Alexander Brad Lopez, short Alex, Lex or to my mom and mami I am known as Happy unless I am in trouble.'' He pauses smirking as everyone chuckles and locks eyes with his mami seeing the surprise on his family faces but most visible on hers. ''Together with my siblings and our cousins we decided to talk to my mom and to aunt Demi because we would like to honor our grandparents the way they deserve, we might have all been little the day they passed but they left so many amazing and loving memories in their wake that we all can't bare the thought of the possibility that they could be forgotten.''
''We were almost eight the day our grandmother passed away and almost ten the day our grandfather, Abuelo and Abuela passed away but whenever we think back to our childhood the time spend with them and with our family is what enters all of our minds first.'' Nico continues sliding beside his brother while taking a hold on his mothers hand.
''I was the youngest of all of us and I still am, but the times spend with oma, opa, Abuela and Abuelo will forever have a spot in my heart. We are all getting older but the emptiness we felt since the day they passed never gets less it only gets bigger because we know that they can't experience all amazing things happening in our lives with us.'' Valerie adds smiling sadly, Liv nods her head in agreement wrapping her arm around Valerie's shoulder seeing the shock on her godmothers face the second she utters the dutch term of grandparents and smiles sadly.
''I am the oldest of all of us and all I can remember is the love they gave all of us, even though we were all children they surely gave us some advice we now still use.''
''Mi mami and mom adopted me when I was four, I am eighteen now just like these giants here.'' Faith continues pointing at her cousins towering over her, she smiles slightly as the crowd chuckle and locks eyes with her moms. ''But Abuela, Abuelo, oma and opa never gave me the feeling that I didn't belong to the family, nobody did. The day the adoption got through I met my aunts Brittany and Santana for the first time ever and after getting to play with my cousins we went to our grandparents so I could meet them and from the very first second Abuelo looked at me and told me.'' She pauses wiping away her tears seeing tears stream down her moms and aunts faces and sniffles. ''Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs, the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what.''
She leans into her aunts arms as she hugs them from behind and hums softly clearing her throat. ''And how right he is, I never ever felt like I didn't belong to the family. Nobody ever mentioned me being adopted and I honestly don't know better either, to me, mi mami and mommy are my moms and the people I call my aunts and uncles are really my aunts and uncles.'' She turns her head looking at her cousins and smiles lovingly. ''We have a huge family and the loss of our grandparents will always hurt us, but mourning together always makes it less painful because we always exchange stories even if we already heard one or two before.''
Brittany wipes away the tears silently streaming down her cheeks and sniffles softly, she catches the headset Demi throws to her tears also clear on her face and puts it on. Alex squeezes her hand softly and smiles sadly. ''Now after we introduced ourselves and told you all a bit about our lives, we.'' He mentions his hand around at his siblings and cousins glancing at the crowd and bites his lip. ''Would like to perform a song with our mom.''
Nico sees the shock in their family's eyes and nods his head in agreement shooting his pregnant girlfriend a sad smile. ''Our mom wrote this song for us but she will be performing the most of it with Olivia, it will be difficult for all of us but we know our grandparents are looking down at us from above and are smiling so big that we are sure that smile is permanently edged on their faces forever.''
''It sure will Smiley.'' Brittany breaths out finally finding her voice, she clears her voice as it cracks and kisses their heads. ''Ready?''
Alex nods his head walking over to the piano and settles down behind it, Brittany walks over to it with Liv and pushes herself on top of is. She helps Liv up and crosses her legs watching Val and Faith slide behind the microphone stands next to them and Nico grab a guitar sitting down beside his brother making sure they both can play while still being together, she takes a deep breath and locks eyes with her wife smiling sadly as she sees her silently crying in Heather and Naya's arms.
