As the teams prepared to face off against the vigilantes, The other students were chatting with one another (The only one not present was Shouko as she was still in a gurney). Everyone else was either pondering about the other members of the Guild or trying to develop their own strategies.
"Seriously, they can't be that tough if only one of them has won in these four fights." Mineta said. "You may be right, but only Ground Zero seems to be taking this seriously." onther student chimed in.
"The fuck you bitches say!!?" Ground Zero shouted. "You think we aren't taking you guys seriously! I have half a mind to swap out with Doll and teach you a fucking lesson. Those teams won because of strategy and teamwork. Team 3 couldn't even scratch Fortress and neither team 4 or 7 could compete with the hit and run that Taser and Cellophane were using. Team 1 was helpless because their strategy couldn't stop me." he took a short break in his rant to breath in (which sounded like a demonic shriek due to his rebreather). "If you want to win, you need to act smart and think, or else you'll die if this was a real fight." he stated while glaring them down.
Mineta shrunk a bit while the rest of the students were left thinking.
Ground Beta was suddenly darkened as team 5 ran through the streets. They had one of the more difficult fights ahead of them. Shadow was the least well known member of the Guild (even the new arrivals already had more known about them than him).
All that could be known was that he was a stealth based fighter. One who would substitute in for Owl every so often.
There wasn't really all that much.
It was surprisingly easy to find Puppet; he was waiting for them a top a lamppost.
Then he dashed away the moment they saw him.
Ojiro gave chase while taking one of Tokage's eyes with her. Bondo and Tokage followed as quickly as they could. When Bondo and Tokage fell behind they used her eye to keep track of Ojiro.
Then something whipped her eye out of Ojiro's grasp. The last image Tokage saw before the eye was destroyed being Puppet tying Ojiro up with his scarf.
Kuroira could feel that something was wrong. Everywhere they walked it felt like they were being watched. She could feel that Shadow was after them.
She's just not sure where he is.
The screens watching team 5 suddenly flashed static. The students grew concerned as they watched each screen flash static.
Momo turned to the Guild and spoke. "What's Shadow doing?" she asked. Owl turned away from the screen and looked at her. "He's hiding, he doesn't want UA to see what he can do." he answered honestly.
Nedzu chuckled as all the screens watching the street team 5 was on flashed static. Shadow was quite thorough in making sure he was not seen. Even his secret cameras were not spared the destruction wrought by Shadow.
Kuroira knew what was wrong the moment he struck. A whip struck from one of the alleys and took out Rin in an instant. Asui could only grasp at Rin's hand before she was dragged into the alley.
Then she saw it.
A thin shadow swam from one alley to another. She could barely capitalize on it as the whip returned and struck her across the face. She was sent skidding across the asphalt.
The next thing she saw Asui being dragged into another alley. She stood back up and sunk into the nearest shadow. She could now feel everything that he was doing.
Then she couldn't.
She began moving erratically as Shadow's hand struck out of her previous hiding spot. She fled from him as he gave chase.
Tokage and Bondo reached the spot her eye was destroyed. Ojiro was nowhere to be found.
"I was waiting for you two." Puppet's voice echoed from the roof tops. "Where's Ojiro you bastard?" Tokage shouted. "Indisposed of right now; don't worry though, you'll be joining her soon enough." he responded. "Then show yourself." Bondo shouted back.
"Fools' error." Puppet muttered as he dropped from the roof tops onto Bondo's shoulders and threw a smoke pellet in Tokage's face. Bondo only thrashed around for a second before stopping completely. Tokage was about to pull him off, only for her body to sag.
She fell to the ground asleep as Puppet wrapped up Bondo.
A buzzer ran out, meaning that team 6 and Puppet were finished. Kuroira just ran faster as she could feel Shadow getting closer. She was almost out of the streets when she felt something wrap around her waist.
She was violently thrown back.
Right into Shadow's waiting grasp.
And a large collection of shadow tendrils all around him.
These fights were much faster than the previous two. Team 5 and team 6 returned to their fellow's sides with disappointment written on their faces. Kuroira in particular being quite disturbed as to what she had to deal with.
Teams 9 and 10 walked out. Doll and Spinner ready for a fight.
Himiko enjoyed the sights of her opponents' struggle. They hadn't even found her yet and they were already fighting. The short one was a constant source of this conflict as she just kept on complaining.
Well, just makes her job easier.
She nonchalantly pulled one of her Knives from her belt and threw it towards Shishida. She flinched as the blade broke her skin and Toga dashed towatds them.
She dodged out of the way as the short one threw her hair at her. She narrowly avoided the buildings being softened. Then she pulled the dagger out just before Shishida turned into her beast form.
She ducked into an alley and climbed the nearest ladder back to the roofs. The herot eam following after her.
They just watched as Spinner held his sword like some anime samurai. "I was waiting for you to arrive." he spoke dramatically while pointing the point towards them.
Kamakiri just turned to Fukidashi, a look of 'really' on her face. Hagakure was no where to be found.
Then Spinner charged forward with a thrust of his blade. A small spear of wind being thrown towards the duo. Kamakiri used her blades to brace herself into the ground while Fukidashi took cover behind her.
They looked up as the spear dissipated, Spinner was no where to be seen. Then they saw a rapidly descending shadow. The pair looked up to see Spinner dropping down with his blade held over head.
When it struck Kamakiri's blades two bursts of wind cleared most of the street. Fukidashi was the first to recover, launching a "BOOM" towards Spinner. Forcing him to jump away before the words could hit him.
Doll was weaving between the offensive being launched towards her. They were currently chasing after her on Shishida's back with Honenuki trying to soften Doll's possible routes while Mineta just continued peppering her with balls.
It was a game of cat and mouse.
A most frustrating game of cat and mouse for he cats.
"Stop running you bitch." Mineta shouted from Shishida's right shoulder. "You'll have to catch me first" Doll responded in a sing song manner. Shishida just shouted in rage as she picked up speed.
Shishida then hefted Honenuki and threw her like a javelin. The girl screamed as she flew through the air and landed just in feont of Doll. She used this chance to soften the ground in front of her.
Only to be met with Doll jumping over the softened ground of pulling out some strange baton. She could barelt defend herself as several volts surged through her body and knocked her to the side.
She had just been struck in the face with a Shock Baton and she wasn't going to be getting up for a while.
Shishida just ran past her, leaving their downed teammate behind at Mineta's urging.
Spinner was using a Grappling Hook to maneuver away from Fukidashi's word assault. He had been forced to sheath the blade, making both hands available to maneuver through Ground Beta. Kamakiri was following close after him with blades at the ready.
It was just Kamakiri following after him, as far as he could tell. Fukidashi didn't have the speed to follow after him while there was no telling where Hagakure was.
He jumped from building to building with Kamakiri following close behind him. He then slid to a halt when be reached the roof of one of the taller buildings. He drew Arashi and held it from the left side with his right arm in front.
When Kamakiri reached the rooftop, she was met with a wave of compressed air crashing into her torso. She was sent flying off the roof and he could hear her crash on the ground.
He ran to the edge and saw her struggling to get up just as Fukidashi caught up to them. She rushed to help Kamakiri off he ground.
He was about to leave when he heard the sound of steps behind him.
Hagakure had caught up to him.
Thinking quickly he threw a smoke pellet on the roof and jumped into the air. He caught sight of her rather quickly. Her outline being revealed by the ashes within the pellet.
He pulled readied Arashi and thrust the blade forward, launching a spear of air towards her. She let out a yelp as she was knocked to the ground.
He then sheathed Arashi once more and Grappled his way to the next set of roofs.
It was fun messing with this team. She would bob and weave through the streets while the duo just shouted in anger. The short girl continously pushing the monster girl forward with every push.
Then she saw Shuichi seinging from roof to roof towards her.
She could also see the duo following after him.
She just smiled before running towards them. The duo were about to rush her when Shishida burst onto the street. The monsterous classmate sprinting forwards in a blind rage. The short girl no where to be found.
It was already to late as Fukidashi had launched onather word assault with a massive "Boom"...
Right to Shishida's face.
The monsterous classmate was down for the count just as Shuichi landed next to her. Mineta had actually caught up to them while Kamakiri and Fukidashi were still processing their friendly fire incident.
The duo charged forwards with weapons drawn.
In all went wrong in a flash. Shishida down for the count, there was no telling where Honenuki was, same with Hagakure. The vigilante duo acted on their new found advantage with blades and speed.
Mineta was thrown into a wall by a spear of air. Fukidashi was taken out with a roundhouse kick to the face. Kamakiri could barely react as she was pinned on both sides and thrown to the ground.
The buzzer rang as she put her hands up in mock defeat.
As it turned out Hagakure was stuck on that roof, the power of Spinner's strange sword wedging her right into the ground.
She wasn't injured too much by it though, just enough to earn her a trip to Recovery Girl.
The last pair of teams waled out to Ground Beta as the previous teams were wheeled past them on gurneys.
All available eyes were watching the screens as Owl and Pheonix left.
"Hey Uraraka, you were at the USJ and you saw Owl. Just what can he do?" Tsuburabu asked her teammate. "Wellll... There's no telling exactly, but there's going to be a lot of fire thrown around on their side." Ochako answered. "Fire Quirks... Bah; we'll beat them just fine, might not even need you two 1a upstarts." Monoma quipped. "Upstarts... where did this come from? Where all hero course students here?" Tenten shot back.
Whatever Monoma was about to say was interruoted by a figure speaking out. "Am I interupting something special between you heroines?" Owl spoke out with his filtered voice. "Oh nothing, just that we, the students of class 1b, about to beat you into the ground without the help of class 1a." Monoma proclaimed loudly. Tsuburaba just shot her a look as Owl began chuckling.
"Really, you think that two heroines in training will be enough to beat me?" Owl quipped. Monoma was about to reply when Owl suddenly rushed forward. Tsuburaba tried to throw up a barrier of air while Ochako attempted to stop him with a wave of increased gravity.
It was all in vain as Owl pulled out some sort of nightstick and bashed Monoma right on her head. He followed up with a strong kick to Iida's head, knocking her to the ground.
He pulled back just as quickly as he rushed in. Leaving Ochako and Tsuburaba to pull their injured teammates up. Owl just stalked close to them, jumping from lamppost to lamppost as he did so.
He was not making this easy for them.
Finding Pheonix was easier said than done. Despite the flashy appearance of his suit, he was rarely seen unless he wanted to be.
Such as right now...
As he walked right past the team with little concern for his own well being.
They hadn't even noticed him as he joined in their planning huddle. There was several seconds where the three girls were just talking about the right strategy to use against him while he stood right next to them.
There was a brief pause when the realization slowly sunk in.
Awase was then blown into a wall by a stream of fire. Sato barelt got a chance to react before a Shock Baton struck her across the face. Yanagi could only watch for a split second before Pheonix rushed her with his right elbow faced outwards.
He struck her right under her ribs, knocking the air out of her lungs. She collapsed to the ground as Awase got back up. She was brought down by another stream of fire.
Yanagi blacked out as the Shock Baton was jabbed into her leg.
It was honestly creepy how Owl was fighting them. He wasn't rushing in like Ground Zero, fighting head on like Fortress or leaping around like the others. He was slowly widdling them down with repeated assaults before he jumped back.
They had changed their placement; having Monoma's unconscious body strapped to Iida's back while Ochako and Tsuburaba each held onto her arms with their respective gravity nulified.
The buzzer had sounded not long ago, meaning Pheonix was already finished.
Then Owl struck again with another quick strike. Tenten let out a burst of speed in an attempt to avoid him while Ochako sent a nearby stopsign at him. Owl struck it out of his way, landing on one of Tsuburaba's walls of air.
They couldn't even capitalize on it as Owl used the wall as a springboard and vaulted towards them.
Iida sped up even faster in desperation to avoid a brutal hit from Owl.
Then her leg snagged a piece of broken concrete. She tripped, and sent her cargo flying. She couldn't even pick herself up as Owl jabbed her with the Shock Baton.
It was down to Ochako and Tsuburaba now.
He honestly felt kind of bad about fighting like this. He was barely giving them a chance to defend themselves while he constantly whittled them down.
But it may teach them an important lesson.
Well... Monoma anyway.
You brag, then you drag.
...
Or something like that?
Anyway, he just took out their main source of mobility. Ochako and Tsuburaba were just getting back on their feet when he rushed forwards again and sent his Shock Baton right towards Ochako.
She may be his girlfriend (sort of), but she was also the more dangerous of the two. His watching of both classes and the Quirk reviews had let him categorize each student he was facing. Monoma was the wildcard with her Quirk, Iida was the mobility, Tsuburaba was he defense, and Ochako was the powerhouse.
The Shock Baton stopped just short of her body. He looked to see that Tsuburaba had created a wall of solid air between the him and Ochako.
He quickly rectified this by firing his Grappling Hook at her feet and dragging her along as he jumped away. Ochako was just quick enough to slow her gravity before her head could hit the ground.
Her mistake as he quickly switched back to her and used the now weightless Tsuburaba as a weapon against her.
Ochako dodged out of the way while he felt his own gravity get heavier. He was forced to drop the Grappling Hook as his legs suddenly buckled under the extreme force of gravity.
The ground around his feet slowly broke into a crater. He pushed through the feeling of his own weight crushing him, activating several Quirks to take the brunt of it. He slowly walked forward with the ground breaking under his every step.
Then he felt a piece of capture tape wrap around his torse. The buzzer sounded and all he could do was chuckle.
Well Played.
The students each graciously took a folder from Midoriya as they walked out. Some took spare folders for their classmates currently in the infirmary. Eraserhead and Vlad Queen followed after their students after giving him brief thanks.
Soon it was just Midoriya and The Guild in the room with Nedzu. "Ah... well I can assume that you considered my offer Midoriya. If you don't mind me asking just who is underneath Owl's mask?" Nedzu spoke up. "What makes you think I'm Midoriya?" Owl responded. "Staunch intuition." Nedzu answered.
"Well, best of luck with your theories, we're out." Owl said while the rest of the Guild gollowed after him. "So, Midoriya-" Nedzu was saying before Midoriya held up one of his hands. "I will be here for the Sports Festival, just stop with the idea that I'm Owl." he replied while picking up his bag and leaving.
He met up rather quickly with Ochako and the two walked out of the school.
Once they reached far enough away Owl dropped to the ground removed his helmet. Ochako's face was allowed to show her confusion as she took in the sight of not one but two Midoriyas. Mina and Kirishima arrived not long after with Fortress arriving just as they did.
Midoriya (The Owl one) put up one of his hands and gestured for them to be quiet. The Midoriya and Kirishima that had accompanied their respoective girl just nodded before handing their belongings to the girls. Midoriya pulled out a pen and twisted the latter end.
The girls just watched with fascination as the extra guys seemed to turn into a fine white mist. Midoriya and Kirishima held out their hands and the girls took their respective hand.
The four were submerged in smoke, leaving rhe alley empty.
Yep. End of all that. Hope you guys enjoyed some of the fight scenes that I had. It was a bit of a blast thinking of just how each team would face off against their respective Guild member.
