It was fun little puzzle that Midoriya left him. The double he pulled between him and Owl was just hilarious. There were few who could see the smallest details in his actions that gave it away.
The mannerisms and body language can never fully carry on from the original to a clone after all.
The best part was that he also gave hints to another being in the Guild.
He now had two names that he could pin down for Guild members; Izuku Midoriya and Kirishima Eijirou.
Though when considering how easily he found their names, he was worried about someone else connecting all these dots..
Someone with far more unsavory goals.
So Nedzu may as well solve this puzzle. Give these shakers of society a chance to be officially recognized heroes.
Speaking of Shakers of Society; he better make sure someone doesn't try to kill Shouto.
He did it, he made into Class 1a.
All that hardwork and training, all the horrendous treatment at the hands of his flaming trashcan of a mother.
It's all behind him now, he's going to be a hero.
Though he hoped he would have enough autonomy to walk to class on his own. Eraserhead was trailing just behind him, a scowl on her face that pushed away any who would dare a glance at him. He understood why she had to follow after him, not everyone would be so accepting to a guy actually being a hero, even he felt pity as Eraserhead's spine shilling glare followed him everywhere.
"Is this all really necessary?" he asked, sparing a glance back to his new teacher. "Unfortunately yes, Nedzu is quite concerned about some unsavory individuals trying things with you. So I have to keep watch over you from the dorms to the classroom." Eraserhead explained.
When the two made it to the door for class 1a he found several other students from the sports festival waiting for him.
Patrols were slowly growing repetitive. They would always be met with muggers and would-be rapists, yet any villain had long since learned to avoid attention from them.
They would flee at the sight of Guild members rather than try and fight them.
Perhaps this is what high profile villains felt?
Anyway, it was making it somewhat difficult for them to fight many of these villains.
So they changed their routes.
A simple solution to a simple problem.
Yet their reputation followed them like a foul odor. Many petty crooks and small time villains would much rather flee or just throw in the towel than fight them.
Katsuki just sighed in annoyance as he carried the seventh crook of the night. She barely struggled as he took her just in front of the police station. It was just plain boring to do this repeatedly; hell the cops at the station stopped trying to arrest him after a few days.
What the fuck is he to do without some kind of thrill or battle.
Then a ball of fire flew past his left shoulder. The crook screamed in fear as he turned back to he source. He saw Endeavor with fire burning brightly.
Him and his petty wants.
He could drop the crook he was carrying, but Endeavor would probably torch her alive. So he pulled out his grappling hook and shoot off. Balls of fire shot past him as Endeawhore gave chase.
"Stop villain, I'm going to teach you a lesson for not knowing your place." The bastiche shouted. Katsuki treated her with a middle finger in response. The crook was desperately holding onto him for fear life.
"Please god, if you're real. I'll never commit another crime in my life." She begged to the sky as Katsuki swung from building to building. "Shut the fuck up and we might live longer." Katsuki shouted to her.
He was almost to the station, just a bit further then he'll get away from this hellish heroine.
Then a ball of fire severed the Grappiling Hook's line. The pair fell at rapid speed just as they made it to the station. Katsuki quickly threw the crook into a pair of officers before running away.
What a troublesome villain. Not even realizing that his time was now up. He was far to troublesome for his own good.
Besides, the very though that whoever was underneath that mask truly being a boy was idiotic.
He raced past the police station, throwing that petty villain at a pair of officers to make his escape.
He then blasted into the air using those strange gauntlets (probably Quirk boosters). She was blasting after him with fire scorching from her feet.
Only for blue fire to cut her off.
She turned to the source, Pheonix had rings of blue fire dancing along his arms. "I knew I smelt burning trash nearby." he quipped while raising an arm against her. "I'm no piece of trash you foolish villain. I'll take great joy in pealing that mask off your burnt corpse.".
"Have you ever heard of a Pheonix Endeavor? Their greatest aspect is the fact that they are reborn from the ashes of a great inferno. Do you know what that means Endeavor?" he quipped as a battle of fire began. "Shut your trap, I don't care what you're going on about. I'll take you down, then that rapid mongrel's next." She shouted at him while firing an intense inferno towards him
"It means your fire can never burn me Endeavor." he shouted from within the inferno.
It was then that Endeavor's fire began shifting wildly. The raging inferno narrowing into multiple tendrils of fire. Endeavor just watched in confusion as her fire no longer followed her command.
"So let me ask you burning trash. Can my fire burn you?" he quipped as the tendrils grew even narrower. A blue glow began to replace the orangey color of the flames before one of them swung at Endeavor.
She raised both arms to block it. The other tendrils followed just after the first one. She grit her teeth in pain as the fire burned through the arms of her suit.
She lowered her arms when the flames stopped striking her. Expecting to see that punk with the flaming tendrils.
Instead she found a dissipating cloud of smoke.
Izuku let out a sigh of relief as the smoke disappeared. He looked to Touya and Katsuki; the former was sweating heavily while the latter was exhaling in relief.
"You guys saved my hide. Endeawhore almost torched me." Katsuki thanked the two of them. "Don't mention it. I was waiting for a chance to fight her." Touya responded while wiping sweat from his brow. "Though you might want to make some improvements to the suit Midoriya. She couldn't burn me, but the heat was still getting to me." Touya noted to his friend.
Midoriya nodded while the rest of the Guild arrived. Concern etched on their faces as Overhaul approached Touya and Katsuki.
Ochako was thankful that most of the class wasn't being hard on Shouto. He was actually a very nice person, just a little aloof. Momo was also a good addition to the so-called Mighty squad (no idea who named them that).
Speaking of which, she was currently busy trying to think of the best pro heroine to intern under. She was looking to her friends for help but was met with less than helpful choices.
Tenten was interning with her older sister, Tsuyu was interning with Selkie, Mina was going with Mdinight, while Momo was interning with Fat Gum.
Though Shouto had a good idea for who he was interning under.
He was going with Gunhead, a skilled heroine who uses martial arts.
Martial arts which she could also use...
Izuku did advise her to not be overly reliant on her Quirk(s), and Shouto was a good demonstration that Quirks weren't everything.
So she'll forfeit Yagi's choice of hero (she'd never heard of Gran Torino before yagi had said that name with fear in her eyes). and join Shouto with Gunhead.
Not like the retiree will follow after her.
...
Right?
Kirishima watched the video for the umpteenth time. The constant stream of Pre-Quirk boxing being mezmorized by his viewing.
Ever since Midoriya watched Shouto Todoroki reach fourth place in the Sports Festival using nothing more than martial arts in the third round he had each of the Guild members look into Pre-Quirk martial arts to supplement their fighting styles.
He and Katsuki chose boxing.
Though Katsuki was gearing more towards a Swarm/Out-Boxer mix while he was going full Slugger style.
It wasn't like they didn't know how to fight before. Every member of the Guild could already throw all sorts of jabs, hooks, and pins; it's just that it was always in a secondary sense.
If one were to look back at it; Midoriya's main plan had the same weakness as usual heroes, an over-reliance on the Quirk (or Quirk infused Item in this case).
Shouto was the wakeup call that changed all this. Now he's having him follow through on a multitude of boxing techniques without using any of the Items Midoriya had armed them with.
He honestly didn't mind all that much, though some of the others would disagree.
It was a real show as Stain walked about the small med room that was sealed away from the rest of headquarters. The weeks of lying on his back had left him somewhat wobbly, so Overhaul would just advise caution as the man get a tight grip on the hand railing.
Midoriya was also in the room as he used Afo to see how all the Quirks within the man's body were reacting to his normal life.
"What does it look like on your front?" Kai asked the boy. "Like a small typhoon, every little action triggers one Quirk which is then countered by a safeguard Quirk. I'm still amazed that he's alive in all honesty." Midoriya answered.
"I'm right here you know." Stain chimed in. "I know, it's just that your whole body has been turned into a paradox that I want to solve." Midoriya responded. "How would that even help me?" he asked. "It'll help you regain a sense of normalcy that has been taken from you." Midoriya answered.
"What even is normalcy?" he quipped before standing up without the support of the table. "Hell if I know." Midoriya joked. "Our whole world is just bizarre, normalcy would cut into that." Kai added his two cents.
A small chuckle was exchanged between the three.
"Say, have you guys made me something to get me out of this room?" Stain asked. "Were working on something to make the suppressants more transportable, though it might be a few weeks still." Kai answered his question.
Stain just sighed before digging into a small tray of food nearby.
It was a strange feeling to be with class 1a. Few of them carried the normal bias against men, not that there wasn't tension with some of them.
Momo has always been there for him, but the reactions of some of the other students was just odd. Ochako (the powerhouse of class 1a), Tenten (Igenium jnr), and Mina (the acid alien girl) were all kind and supportive of him. Ochako even asked him for tips on hand to hand fighting.
Tsuyu and many of the other girls were far more neutral towards him, not holding much bias but also not caring to much.
But there was still trouble, mostly in the fair of a grape haired midget. This walking sexual assault lawsuit in the making was always staring at him as those he was some kind of doll. She never made any sort of move against him, but he could tell that she thinking about it.
The other source of trouble was his own twin sister Shouko. After her humiliating defeat at the hands of Ochako during the first tournament bracket she just grew more unbearable. He knew that the burning trash that was her 'mother' had a hand in this, never skipping a chance to push him into the ground.
He was just glad he had his own apartment before he had gone to UA. He may never here the end of the Todoroki family drama, but is his family nothing other than a burning dumpster?
At least with Gunhead he'll have someone who knows about hand to hand fighting without the over-reliance of a Quirk.
The fun that came with checking out just what the Guild was up to...
There wasn't any. Mustard couldn't for the life of her understand why Shigaraki was so obsessed with them.
Sure they were fucking with the Hero Comission (always a good thing in her book) and making the current roster of heroines look bad in comparison (another good thing in her book), but they were vigilantes.
Vigilantes that seemed hard pressed to stop the League with little incentive.
At least it was entertaining to watch the number 2 heroine be humiliated on camera by one of the Guild members.
But now she had to get back to the League with another report of just how strong certain members of the Guild may be.
These masterminds of vigilantism are going to be the death of the League before the pro heroes can even get to them.
"I'm telling you guys, its bullshit that I'm the second weakest member of the Guild." Sero was half shouting to the rest of the Guild.
He had recently found a site that ranked the strength of hero teams. They made a special link just for the Guild which ranked just how strong they all were.
The list went in the order.
1. Ground Zero (has fought off pro heroes and has a personality which matches their name).
2. Pheonix (a recently added member who has shown themselves to a match for even the number 2 pro heroine).
3. Fortress (the absolute tank capable of shrugging off even the strongest of hits, not much offense though).
4. Owl (The leader and a powerhouse in their own right, with a most mysterious Quirk).
5. Puppet (Has the cleanest record of take downs between every member of the Guild).
6. Shadow (The most mysterious member of the Guild, has the second cleanest take down record just after Puppet).
7. Taser (An all around decent member of the Guild, capable of fulfilling several different roles with clean take downs in every single one of them).
8. Spinner (A recent member who can control the air around them, somewhat lacking control so they are quite low).
9. Cellophane (Previously Stick) (Fufills a similar role to Taser but comes up short when compared to the other vigilante).
10. Doll (The third recent member, lacking enough information to give her a proper place on the list).
Midoriya had silently reread the list while the others tried to comfort some of their more disappointed friends.
"I'm weak." Toga sniffled while hugging her knees. "Lacks control, I have plenty of control." Shuichi argued.
It was only the timely intervention of Touya that stopped it fron escalating.
"You guys aren't weak, we're each stronger than your average pro heroine. Its just that they can't give us any proper ranking because not much is known about us." he calmly talked to the more mopey Guild members.
"Yeah, if the list was accurate then Deku would have been in number one." Katsuki chimed in. "You sure Bakubro?" Kirishima asked. "No duh, he can steal people's Quirks and use them without issue. You just forget it because he acts like either a simp or a gentleman most of the time." Katsuki answered.
"I'm not a simp Kacchan. Ochako and I are literally in a secret relationship" Midoriya argued. "How is your relationship secret when we can all see it clean as day?" Katsuki argued back. "Secret from the public eye Kacchan." Midoriya summarized.
"Can we get back on topic? I don't want to listen to Midoriya talk about his girlfriend." Sero spoke up. "Sorry, anyway there's nothing to worry about because these lists are never accurate. They ranked Mount Lady as stronger than Kamui Woods despite her much better capture rates and performance reports." Midoriya said.
At that moment Ochako and Mina walked in, confusion of their faces as they glanced at the list.
There are many times where Eraserhead would question her life choices.
Having to track down her contact with the Guild once again because Nedzu has another asinine plan was one of them.
"Become a hero they said, you'll help people they said. No one ever warned me about a chaos loving rat god or a paradoxical vigilante group." Aizawa lamented as she trudged through the back alleys and roof tops towards her target.
Overhaul.
The fact that the Guild responded to Nedzu's request after she pasted the note to him was a definite sign that he had a connection to them. Of course that also meant that he would be far more cautious with his movements as to avoid far more nosey pro heroines.
Oh, the joys of daylight heroines. Always wanting the attention, never realizing the consequences that such things can carry.
Such as driving away useful informants and destroying dealings between underground heros and certain criminals.
Now the latter sounds bad on paper, but its more about the heroine getting information on bigger fish in exchange for the criminal not being arrested.
Then she finally found him, his trademark mask and coat unmistakable. She approached cautiously, throwing a rock to the ground in order to get his attention.
"I have something to ask you Overhaul, I hope you'll hear me out." She started. Overhaul turned to her and sighed; "What now Eraserhead? I'm quite busy.". "I have another note fof the Guild, you don't have to take it but I hope you at least consider deliverying it." she explained. "Another invite from the rat god?" he asked.
She nodded her head and surpressed a groan.
Overhaul seemed to think it over for a second before taking the note. He disappeared rather quickly as Eraserhead did the same.
Hey everyone, hope you all enjoyed this chapter. Its a little filler, a little plot.
Say, what would you guys think of if I made a seperate faniction based around the Guild getting powers in different ways (Stands, devil fruits, etc). It would basically be a bunch of One shots that explored all these different AUs. Comment what you guys think or PM me about it.
See you all next time.
