Midoriya was a workaholic rushing to finish the Anti-Noumu Weapons. The moment he had finished catching up on his lost week he had buried himself in the act of creating the new weapons.
He didn't even notice that the others had all gone on patrol (sans Tokoyami, who usually coordinates the Guild from time to time). He didn't even notice when the news suddenly turned desperate and screamed about the Noumus.
He only noticed when Kai calmly walked up to him and dragged him away from his work.
He was horrified to see that Noumu were targeting the Guild. Their numbers far exceeding anything that they had fought before.
Sparing a quick glance at the prototypes that he had made for something like this, he cursed.
He was going to... No, he needed to get these items to the other Guild members. Testing be damned, they needed these weapons now.
He ignored Kai's concerned shout before he but on the Owl suit and grabbed the items. His comms sparked to life the moment the helmet was on and the screaming was overwhelming.
It was only a moment before he was surrounded by mist, and warped away.
Ochako could only gasp at the news broadcast. The sheer amount of Noumus swarming the city was absolutely ridiculous. It was easy to see just who they were targeting.
The Guild.
She was concerned for them. She could do nothing but watch as the Noumus mindlessly attacked the Guild members.
She felt so useless.
Denki and Sero were the first ones he found. The former was madly firing his overcharged Stun Gun while the latter could do little but entrap the stunned Noumus with his fabrics.
He intervened with a strong blast of air from his numerous Quirks. The Noumus caught within the blast were stripped of muscles and crushed from the sheer force alone.
Denki breathed out in relief while Sero slumped his shoulders. "Thank god, I thought we were done for man." Denki spoke. "Yeah, hope you got something special for this situation." Sero said.
Midoriya nodded; "You bet... Just a warning these haven't been tested, they might go wrong." he warned them. Denki looked to Sero, Sero looked back, they both nodded.
midoriya handed Denki a weapon resembling a shotgun and a bandolier of strange grenades. He then gave Sero a bat resembling a Kannabo alongside two belts full of knives. "The Tesla Gun is a pump-action shotgun that fires intense volts of electricity. The Shock Grenades function similar to normal grenades, but you can modify their voltage output. The Wacker will unleash a massive shockwave which liquifys the muscles of its target. The Tracer Knives will seek out their target upon being thrown." He summarized the capabilities of each item before the two boys nodded and Midoriya warped away.
Toga and Shuichi were next; the duo having been camped atop a roof while the Noumus converged from all sides.
He activated as many AOE Quirks in his possession. Creating a vortex of fire and chiton which shredded through both the Noumus and the building.
The duo had a mix of relief and concern as Midoriya approached them. He gave each of them two belts of Tracer Knives and a sword (a shortened rapier for Toga and another Katana for Shuichi). "The knives track whoever you throw them at. Your rapier is designed to pierce through even the most powerful defenses. The katana is capable of generating large amounts of fire much like your other sword can generate wind." he summarized for them.
"But boss, I don't know how to use a rapier." Toga pointed out. "Think of it as a larger than average syringe." Midoriya advised while Toga nodded. "Bro, your amazing." Shuichi said. "Yes, now get out there, there's still Nounus swarming all over the city." Midoriya said before he warped away.
The news was turning. First it was the image of Taser running around the streets with a large gun in hand, each shot from the weapon putting down a Noumu. Cellophane followed suit with a collection of knives and strange bat that killed any Noumu hit by it.
Then Doll showed up with needle like blade, stabbing any Noumu clean through the head. Spinner following after her with his stable sword, and another, with tornados of fire being launched every which way.
This wasn't even going into the mass killings that Owl contributed to. He wasn't even making that he truly possessed some form of Quirk. The methods of Noumu killing far too varied and direct for even the items to be an excuse.
It was entertaining for Nedzu to watch. This was the Guild when they weren't pulling their punches. This was what they could do when up against the wall. It exposed one of their aces (a recent ace if he's guessing) but in such a situation its preferable to the alternative.
He might even request that Owl create a collection of Anti-Noumu Weapons for UAs defenses... As unlikely as that is.
His back was to Kirishima. Both of them had their fists raised; his own smoking from use while Shitty Hair's were smeared in Noumu blood. They were surrounded by a small swarm of powerful Noumu.
They had already combed through the small fry, now it's just the specialized ones.
Specialized against their techniques.
These Noumus were designed for defense and endurance. Kirishima lacked the power to damage them. He lacked the longevity to put them down.
"Hey bro, if we don't get out of here alive. I just want to say that these have been the best years of my life." Kirishima spoke up. "Same here, want to bet how many of these bastards we send to hell before they get us?" he quipped. "Yeah." was the answer.
The Noumus rushed them all at once, their Quirks flaring to life.
He felt Kirishima brace himself against his own back.
They may die today, but they won't go quietly.
He found Touya and Hitoshi hidden on a rooftop. Touya seemed to be suffering from overheating while Hitoshi was nursing a broken arm.
He passed a water canteen to Touya while dropping the bag of Anti-Noumu Weapons. He would let Touya wait, he was going to get Hitoshi out of here.
He gave Hitoshi no room to speak before he warped to two of them back to homebase. He quickly let Hitoshi to the medbay and left him to Kai. He was about to warp back when Tokoyami approached him in his Shadow suit.
"I'm coming with you, we need someone to step in for Hitoshi while Kai's treating him." he said. Midoriya nodded before he warped them back to the rooftop.
Touya was waiting for them, a now empty water canteen by his feet. Midoriya picked up where he had left off and gave Touya a pair of gauntlets and a new coat.
"This coat will mitigate the heat, the gauntlets strengthen and concentrate your flames into smaller but stronger projectiles." he explained rather quickly. Touya nodded; "Right." he said while putting them on.
He then warped away with the two of them in tow.
The pros were scrambling to mount their own offense against the horde of Noumus. The only benefit to it all was the fact that the Noumu were ignoring civilians, making evacuation easier. Many high ranking pros were being called in, groups were being organized at high speed.
Shigaraki just watched from the rooftop. At first the plan had gone off swimmingly, the Guild were caught off guard and forced to retreat. Her Noumus were whittling them down slowly...
Until Owl showed up, a large bag at his side. From the bag he armed the other Guild members with strange and powerful weapons designed to counter the power of her Noumus.
This wasn't even getting into the fact that he was demonstrating numerous Quirks. Not like his items, no, what he was showing off were true Quirks. Collective volleys of mixed Quirks designed to destroy any Noumu that he faced.
It was confusing to see, the only person she had ever seen with numerous Quirks was sensei...
Sensei was a guy, a guy with a Quirk that allowed him to steal the Quirks of others.
Owl was a guy, a guy with a Quirk that seemed to act as numerous Quirks.
...
...
...
She'll lock it away for now, and interrogate her sensei later.
It was a wild clash of power as Midoriya reached Katsuki and Kirishima.
The two boys were pulling no punches in their fights. Any Noumu that got close was either blasted away or sent flying by a powerful hook.
However.
It wasn't enough.
He hadn't seen such specialized Noumus since one designed to fight All Might sent him into a wall.
He wasn't going to repeat his previous mistake now. He gave them no time, launching a massive wave of wind against the Noumus which cut through their mob.
He rushed through the opening as Touya burnt away the stragglers and Tokoyami guarded his back.
Both Katsuki and Kirishima slumped their shoulders in exhaustion before Midoriya pulled out the last of the Anti-Noumu Weapons. He gave each boy a pair of much larger Gauntlets. The both of them eagerly attaching them to their previous gauntlets.
"The gauntlets are tailor made for your items; Ground Zero's are designed to maintain the power of the overcharged blast while removing the overheating, Fortress' are designed to project an offense based field of energy around your arms for more destructive power." he quickly explained before sealing the bag.
Another Noumu tried to rush them, only for their body to be blasted apart by Katsuki's upgraded Gauntlets. The mass slamming into the ground as nothing more than charred flesh.
Soon the heroes did arrive, and they had yet another thing to worry about.
Most of them were exhausted from dealing with the Noumu horde. So, when a massive collection of pro heroines moved in to sweep up the left overs, they were at risk of being captured.
Midoriya was quick to warp the main group back to homebase. Toga and Shuichi were picked up not long after. Then he retrieved Denki and Sero.
They were all somewhat sloppy today, they were caught off guard and played for it. There was no telling how many Tracer Knives and other items were confiscated by police.
Most of them were just amazed to be alive.
Midoriya took this chance, and he passed out on the couch alongside many if the other members.
That's a wrap. Its another short chapter this time. I mainly just wanted to split the Noum encounter between the before, the during, and the after. So expect some more fallout next chapter.
