The rest of the story.
Hermione sent Greyback and his gang after her mother. She knew her mother was still in love with Tom because every so often she'd mention something she'd done over the years. Something that hadn't happened with Hermione's dad.
She and Tom continued working on the treaty. She sent messages to both Remus Lupin and Kingsley Shacklebolt. They agreed to meet in a neutral area and look over the treaty. She quickly grew used to the concept of having Draco Malfoy as a friend. Harry and Draco took a little longer. Soon though both boys were used to the other being around.
Together Tom and Hermione crafted several laws that would make life easier for both house elves and werewolves. The main law, which Greyback hated so badly, was the fact that wizards were able to freely hunt down and kill werewolves during the week after the full moon. They did so with the full knowledge of knowing that's when the werewolves were their weakest. Hermione wanted that particular law abolished, not just amended.
Using the letters as references, Greyback and his boys arrived at the Australian Ministry of Magic. Upon being greeted, they were introduced to the minister and told their story. They were searching for a woman who had lost her memory. "She thought she was in a car wreck with her daughter and the daughter passed away. But she didn't. The woman was by herself at the time. The daughter was in school. Now the daughter has been desperately searching for her mother for the last six months." He smoothly lied to him. That's how long they had been 'tracking her'.
Hearing this, the Australians were pleased to track down Hermione's mother for them. Fenrir soon realized it wouldn't be easy or simple to lay hands on the woman and Disapparate. For one thing, the clinic she worked at was smack dab in the center of the muggles town and two, they couldn't just snatch her off the street. That would be a very heavy offence to the Australian Ministry. It was Scabior who came up with the simple but brilliant plan that allowed them to snatch her. He saw that they were directly in front of the clinic she worked at. He threw himself in front of a car, making sure to not hit it too hard. Then he proceeded to lay there in the road and scream in fake agony. She came running over, examined him and directed them to bring him inside the clinic whose door she'd just unlocked and turned the sign to open.
Once inside and before any muggles could come in, Greyback had one of his boys to relock the door, flip the sign back to closed and laid his hand gently on the back of her neck. He squeezed her pressure point and she fainted into his arms.
They went back to the Australian Ministry and told them she had fainted from 'the sheer delight of knowing her baby was alive and well, waiting to see her'. They were pleased to give them a Portkey back to Britain.
Harry and Draco were waiting at the gate to slip them into the Manor before Tom even knew they were back. Hermione left the room with the excuse of 'needing the loo'. She raced upstairs and restored her mother's memories. Then she waited for the blast of anger. Isabelle wasn't angry though. She was more upset that Hermione had been in danger all these years and hidden it from her.
After they hugged and cried, Hermione filled her in on the rest of the story. Isabelle was horrified by Tom's action after he'd left her the next day. But she was amazed that he was so willing to go to jail and serve his time. Hermione told her that Tom had said '"I did the crime, I need to serve my time. I can't expect my followers to return to jail and expect no punishment for myself, can I?"'
Hermione asked her if she wanted to reunite with him. Isabelle was nervous about the idea. 'Surely there was no way he'd remember her after all these years!' Seeming to read her mother's mind, Hermione told her that Tom had talked of nothing else since he'd told her he was her father. He actually would have brought her back to the magical world if he'd thought she would go with him. Isabelle widened er eyes at that.
She agreed to meet him but she warned Hermione. If Tom didn't recognize her, Hermione was to take her back home to Australia immediately. Hermione agreed, keeping her fingers crossed that Tom didn't disappoint her or her mother. They headed downstairs and stopped outside his study. Everyone else went in, leaving Hermione and Isabelle in the hall.
"Mum? Are you ok? We don't have to do this if you don't want to. We can wait. I just thought you might be eager to see him again." Hermione told her quietly.
"I'm fine, sweetie. Just scared. This feels like going on a blind date, to be honest." She giggled nervously. Hermione hugged her. Then they joined arms, took deep breaths and swung the door open. Tom looked up. At first, he seriously thought he was hallucinating. Then he inched himself. 'Nope, definitely not dreaming, either! Merlin, was that-?' he looked at his daughter. She smiled encouragingly at him as she gently pushed the woman forward.
"Isabelle? Is-is that-you? Isabelle?" he stood and slowly approached her. She smiled that beautiful, breathtaking smile of hers and he was lost. He held his arms open hesitantly. She nodded, teary eyed. He let out a joyous shout of laughter as he snatched her off her feet. "Isabelle!'
The Death Eaters all discreetly left the room as everyone gave the reunited lovers some privacy. Hermione smiled as she witnessed their first kiss in almost years. Then she closed the door behind her.
The ending is choppy. For that I apologize. This is all the muse would throw at me at this time. I'll go ahead and post it, just to give some sense of closure but if the muse comes back fully on this story, I'll come back and expand on the ending or maybe even add another chapter or two. It all depends on the next time the muse speaks to me about this story.
