Chapter 61: Down With The Sorceress Part 3

Bianca raised her wand and prepared to cast her spell. Her wand began to shine as magic cumulate on it. She saw the dragon wizard and the Sorceress fought against each other.

Zantor blocked spells coming at him with his cards and sent a few back at the porty villain, but his magic was blocked by a shield. The slim dragon frowned and dodged one on the side. He panted quietly as exhaustion began to settle in. His cards floated near his face and wondered how the Sorceress wasn't exhausted. He adjusted his hat. He watched her scepter and noticed the gem on. It was a dark gem, "What is that?" he whispered at the sight of the dark gem.

"Looks like this is the end for you," she laughed at the exhausted dragon. She raised her scepter and summoned her evil magic, "This is the end and soon, the dragons will follow."

Malefor heard her and was ready to use his bracelet. He held back when he noticed Bianca.

Bianca casted her spell the moment the Sorceress laughed at her upcoming victory.

It was a ball of energy and exploded on the back of the Sorceress.

The Sorceress felt on the ground and almost dropped her Scepter, "W-what?"

Bianca came with her wand shining with energy.

"You!"

The others noticed her.

"Bianca!" Hunter said, happy to see her again.

The other dragons focused on the enemies and not her as they had little time for this.

Demitrious yelled, "Traitor!" he was punched in the face by Titan as he broke his focus from the battle.

"What do you think you are doing Bianca?" she stood up and pointed her scepter at the two magicians.

"I came to put an end to this! You want to kill the baby dragons! You want to kill any dragons in your way!" she replied, her voice shaking a little.

"Do you realise what you are doing Bianca? Treason is punishable with death!" the Sorceress furiously declared, "And what of your family and your people?"

"My realm is fine. The magic is low, but they are fine for now. I saw the Rhynocs watching on stand by, as if they were ready to do anything at them. I don't know what you planned for my realm, but I know it was for nefarious reason."

"And you are showing your true color. Betraying our Sorceress and helping the damn dragons!" Demitrious yelled at her, before he got a supplex from Titan.

"We are still fighting you know," the leader of the Peace Keepers reminded him. He really hated to deal with anyone who was distracted by anything.

Bianca frowned as she spoke at the same time as Titan, "She manipulated us Demitrious. She doesn't want to save our realm. Magic is disappearing. The realms here are going to die soon and the Sorceress wants the wings of the baby dragons for an immortality spell for herself!"

The Rhynoc gazed at her, "So?" he dodged the axe coming at him at the last second.

"Y-You knew?" the humanoid bunny watched him with horror. She quickly turned her attention to the Sorceress, "I accepted to help you to save my realm, but you don't care about it at all. It's all about you!"

The Sorceress chuckled, "Of course."

Spyro jumped away from the enemies and approached her, "You are an evil witch! An ugly one with everything you wanted to do to my siblings!"

She didn't like the insult and casted a spell at the purple dragon.

Sparx immediately told him to step aside, just before the spell came to the youngling.

The young dragon jumped on the side and avoided ice shards coming at him.

Zantor saw an opening and casted his sealed spell, "You don't need your magic anymore!"

The cards flew around her and prepared to seal her power.

The Sorceress saw she was in danger and quickly casted another spell to prevent a seal, "It's not over!" She didn't have to try and escape when another spell came from the traitor. She dodged it at the last second.

Meanwhile, Titan dodged the sword at the last second and blocked the next one with his axe, "Looks like it's over for you," he glared at him.

Demitrious chuckled, "You think so?"

The Sorceress tried to cast another spell when Hunter fired his last arrow on her scepter.

The dark gem on the top of it shattered and broke into pieces.

The Sorceress paled for a few seconds as the source of her power was broken. Still, she grabbed her scepter and stood up, "You accursed cheetah!" she raised her staff and energy still came through it.

Zantor understood what was going on, "This gem amplified your power Sorceress," he called his cards in his hands. He played with his fingers for a few seconds before they flew in the air, "Without it, it would be easier to handle you," he observed the black gem. He felt a little uneasy at the sight of it. He looked at her and prepared to end this fight, "This is for every dragon's life you ruined," he summoned a ball of energy and sent it to her.

She paled and casted a spell and teleported away at the last second.

"Damn you!" Malefor yelled after she escaped. He turned towards the Rhynocs furiously.

The Rhynocs saw that. Demitirous quickly took command, "Retreat! Retreat!"

They all turned around and ran away.

Spyro didn't intend to let that many escaped. He chased after a few of them and breath fire on their behind.

Flame followed him.

Sparx went after them and told them they had to turn back.

"Spyro!" Nestor yelled.

"Flame!" Bruno commanded.

The two ordered, "Come back!"

The children didn't hear them.

Malefor grumbled and used his bracelet.

The next second, Malefor was in front of the dragons with the two children in his arms and Sparx on his snout, "You two were reckless you know. You shouldn't go after an army on your own!"

"S-sorry Malefor," the two younglings replied.

The dark purple dragon sighed as he put them on the ground. He put his fingers on his face when the dragonfly flew away, "Sorry. I… I lost myself for a sec," his fingers slid on his snout, "You better remember it this time."

"We will."

Sparx told them he was glad they were safe and didn't end up in an ambush or a hostage situation.

"That Sorceress escaped," Astor grunted.

Zantor sighed, "I'm sorry. I should have sealed her right away. I dropped my guard for a second."

Malefor wanted to give a piece of his mind, but he was guilty too. He could have used his bracelet to prevent this, "I'll-" he grumbled when his father put his hand on his shoulder.

"No. You stay with us," Astor ordered.

The dark purple dragon noticed bruises and wounds on his father. He was concerned, "Are you okay? You need to sit down right now."

"I'm fine," the mauve dragon chuckled. He grumbled when he was forced to sit down his son.

The other dragons did the same. They were wounded and lost a bit of blood.

"This was way beyond what I expected," Halvar commented.

The dragons spoke together about their half-victory.

Hunter went to Bianca, "I'm glad you are fine," he smiled at her, "You were brave to come back to help us."

"I couldn't let her do this," she avoided looking at him and the dragons.

"Bianca. Thanks you. The Sorceress escaped, but you really saved our lives. We might have been in big trouble if you didn't come," he countered as he shook his head.

"He's right. I was at my limit here," Zantor grabbed one of the fragments of the dark gem, "We will need to analyse this later."

"Still, I did many horrible things to you. I helped her stole the eggs. I was ready to do this to save our realm. It is dying out. There is no magic here and soon, everything will be gone. Still… This is no excuse for what we have done to you."

Nestor noticed it and approached her, "And you stole the eggs so the dragons could produce magic to prevent its destruction."

"And since I save my siblings…" Spyro realised that they pretty much doomed this realm, "We did the right thing and we are going to hurt many good people," the young purple dragon whined at that realisation.

Flame gazed at his brother, "Even with me alone, it wouldn't change anything."

The green dragon sighed. It was a good justification for what she did, but none of them would forgive her for that. She still saves their tail, "Do you know where the Sorceress might escape?"

"I don't know. If she lies to me about what she would do with the eggs…" Bianca said nothing else.

Spyro suspiciously looked at her. He wasn't over the fact that she did a few bad things.

His dragonfly told him that she thought she was doing something good and let evil manipulate her.

"Yeah," he agreed with Sparx. He could see she was used by the Sorceress.

"I'll make it up with you. I'll try and find out where she is hiding. You aren't safe as long as she isn't stopped," she said.

"Wait," Hunter put his hand on her shoulder, "I'll come with you. I can't let you go on your own," he nervously chuckled and lightly blushed under his fur.

"I don't have a problem with that," she replied.

Malefor asked, "And you tell us when you find her. She will pay for what she did to us."

Bruno sighed, "We still have the eggs to find anyway. We can't leave yet."

"And without knowing where she is, she might be after more," Bubba scratched the ground.

"And we need to check around. There might be more Rhynocs around," Trondo commented as he put his knives in their scabbard. He stood up and walked outside of the room.

Titan sighed as he was their leader. He stood up, "Let's go. We need to clear everything up."

The other Peace Keepers left the room, leaving the remaining dragons behind.

Zantor continued to observe the remaining of the dark gem. He sniffed it a few times and frowned. He didn't like the magic coming out of it. He didn't know what it was. He never saw such gem before. Not even in the books the Magic Crafter had in their realm, "Bruno. Can you come here and tell me if this is telling you anything?"

The portly dragon came with the young red dragon following him. Bruno observed the fragment in the claws of the slim dragon. He grumbled for a few seconds, "Nothing. I just have a bad feeling simply looking at it. Maybe Astor knows something. Astor, do you have an idea what this might be?"

The old dragon came with Malefor, Nestor and Spyro following him. He watched the little fragment of a gem and lightly paled, "W-where did you find this?"

"It's from the Sorceress staff," Zantor replied.

"You believe this is a big problem dad," the dark purple dragon concluded.

Nestor observed it. He never saw such color on a gem. They had many, but none of them were dark like this one. He looked closer and seemed to have something inside. Something malevolent, "The Sorceress use it against you, right?"

"Right. It allowed her to waste less magic than me in our fight," he replied.

Astor finally replied, "Those are called Dark Gems. No one knows of its origin, but they have dark and nefarious magic. The little bit I remember are from old legends. This gem contained the power from an evil entity. Another thing I heard is that it is the blood of the evil entity. Those are just legends… but that gem is real," he pointed his claw at it.

"I never heard of that story from pop or the Guardian Dragons," Bruno grumbled nervously.

"Thor knows of this legend too," the old dragon told them.

Nestor quickly made the decision, "We have to make sure this gem cannot ever be used again. I can still see a little bit of power in those fragments."

Spyro immediately torched it up and smiled, "Good. I don't want anything evil to remain here."

Sparx nodded and buzzed that it was an easy decision to make.

Malefor destroyed the remaining, "This is something to check around. Once everything is cleared up, I will hunt the Sorceress down."

"Those two are already searching for her," Astor reminded him.

"I know, but I have to make sure she won't cause any trouble anymore. Never again," the dark purple dragon replied. He sighed when his father glared at him, "I will be back. We still have a lot to catch up anyway…This is the perfect chance."

"Fine," the old dragon gave his blessing.

Zantor nodded, "I need to find out more about those gems and if they are some hidden somewhere. The Sorceress might want to take more of them."

The carpenter wondered what was the best course of action. They needed to find the remaining eggs, "We will find the last eggs in the meantime."

"Better come with you," Bubba said as he flexed his muscles.

Bruno sighed, "I'll help with the search. There is surely a library around."

"I'll go there too. That fight… You know. I'm old and all that," Astor sighed.

Once they decided what to do next, they waited. Once Titan returned and announced that the Rhynocs were gone, they split up.

AC: This is the end of this chapter.

Next: The Remaining Eggs.

The dragons went in search of the remaining eggs. The friends and allies they made brought more. While in the shadows, the Sorceress planned her revenge.
