I do not own RWBY
Running a hand through his hair Cardin looked every bit the Vale ruffian that the pompous Atlas officials thought he was. Their glares and distrusting sneers were all he needed to know they'd never see him as anything other than a brute from Vale. He didn't care what they thought of him, they were nothing beyond their frozen wasteland. Atlas might be the greatest military power in the world, but it was run by arrogant children who had no idea how the world outside their borders worked. He was willing to bet that not one of them would be able to take him in a fight either. Unless Ironwood decided to crack out the big guns, but the man was too amused by the stare down to do anything other than hide his chuckles behind his hand.
Offering the stuck-up officials, a smug smirk, he twitched at the elbow that was driven into his ribs. Glancing down at the dark-haired girl glaring at him, there was a moment where he wondered if she was a mind reader. From the disapproving glint in her eyes, she didn't approve of him mocking Atlas. Not that he really cared, they might belong to the same person, but he didn't have a single thing connecting him to Atlas itself. Sure, there were people here he cared about, however, beyond that there wasn't any reason for him to stay.
"We need to focus," she hissed. Catching the glance, she threw at James and the other officers, he smirked.
"We? I didn't know you were going to be fighting," he taunted. Where her words had been quiet his own were loud enough to be heard over an avalanche.
Bristling the girl shifted on her feet more than ready to start an argument with him only to be rewarded with a chuckle. She was no where near strong enough to take him in a fight. The only moments she'd gotten close enough to hurt him had been during team fights. Her weapons didn't leave much offensive power either. Still, she'd came a long way from the cowering girl Ruby had dragged home like a stray cat.
"Cardin, Ciel, please argue on your own time," Ironwood cut in hoping to end the verbal spar before it began. Flushing scarlet the girl looked down immediately while Cardin chuckled.
Glancing beyond the two at the other young warriors the Atlas general allowed a small smile to appear on his face. The kids had brought life back to Atlas. They were stronger than most gave them credit for while also being wise enough to know when to use that strength. He'd have to promote them before they left for Haven. The only kids not here were Weiss's team; the new CEO had a board meeting today if he remembered correctly. According to Winter, her sister was reaching out to the White Fang as well. If that happened to turn out well, there was a chance this battle with the faunus might finally be over.
"Yes sir."
"Sure James."
That was better than 'Jimmy'. Nodding he motioned for them to pay attention to the monitor. It was past time they got this mission started. He didn't want to be here waiting for another hour.
"Our mission is to get to the dust in this abandoned SDC Mine, it's being guarded by standard grimm but we have no idea what's deeper in. That's why Cardin's team will be supported by my Ace Ops. Winter and I will be on stand-by with back up if there's an issue. Any questions?"
He'd just made the worst decision possible. Groaning as they almost all stepped forward at once he noted that Ciel and Cardin where quietly whispering to each other. That wasn't a good sign. Maybe they were talking about something that wouldn't cause him a headache for months to come.
"Can we count kills?"
Nodding to Russel, he tried to ignore the glance shared by his Ace ops. Yes he knew the kids were a bit much.
"What if the cave blows up?"
"Then you'll all be dead," he stated hoping Sky would get the point. Nodding the blue haired man made a note in his scroll. Didn't that inspire confidence? From the slightly terrified expression on Marrow's face it did not.
"Are we allowed snacks?"
Eyeing Dove who for once didn't break eye contact, he reluctantly nodded. Resisting the urge to toss his hands up in defeat, he said, "don't litter in the mine."
"Should Pyr really be going on this mission?"
He was ignoring that one. Especially since Pyrrha herself was pulling Jaune aside to scold him for such a stupid question. Eyeing Ciel who stepped forward with her scroll already out. He blanched at the almost vindictive glint in Cardin's eyes. He was starting to think these kids were going to murder him in his sleep before escaping Atlas with all his money. No, that wouldn't happen. Not because they were innocent children, but due to the fact his chief doctor used to be an assassin and none of these kids held a candle to that man.
"What share of the dust are we getting," Ciel asked sharply. There was the headache he'd been waiting on.
"You kids should be happy to even be going on this mission."
"We didn't ask you road runner," Cardin snapped. Glaring at the woman who clenched his fists he dared her to make a move. This might be his first time meeting the Ace Ops but they'd been the ones to lead Ruby into a trap. The fact that trap had been a secret test to determine if she could become a huntress wasn't the point right now. Just because they were the "good guys" didn't make them mean anything to him.
"Ten percent."
The offer was generous however Ciel only raised an eyebrow. Glancing down at her scroll she hummed softly before straightening.
"Twenty, according to the amount of dust in the mine, you'll have more than enough to launch Amity with only eighty percent."
"Is that so?"
"There is also the fact you're hiring us for this mission. We didn't come to you and while we'd love to keep our good working relationship, we need dust as well."
Turning away to hide his pride at the almost vicious negotiating he smirked. She was adorable trying to back him into a corner. Resisting the urge to ruffle her hair, he pretended to think over her offer. With Weiss cooperating and the dust they already had in storage only about sixty percent of the mine was actually needed. The rest had been going to storage anyway. Glancing at his Ace Ops who seemed enraged at the bargaining, he internally sighed. They really weren't going to get along with Ruby's people.
"Deal," he stated. The way her eyes widened was enough to tell him she hadn't actually thought he'd agree. With that much dust, they could pay for all the equipment they'd need or have if converted to weaponry. Strengthening the children would only help him in the future. It wasn't as if he had any reason to refuse. Taking the contract she offered him, he read it over before signing. The small nod Cardin gave him over the girl's head was enough to make him realize this had been Ciel's idea. If that was the case, then he was more than happy to give the girl a much-needed confidence boost.

Board meetings were worse than grimm. Or at least she'd rather be fighting grimm than sitting in a meeting being looked down on by people twice her age. Perhaps even four times her age given Mr. Leon needed his walker to help him into the room. By that she meant he needed his heir – a man with blonde hair whose name she didn't even know – to carry him into the room bridal style. It was an example of how ruthlessly old politicians held onto their power that he even made that choice in the first place. In a way it even reminded her of her father.
Listening to another comment about the embargo she wanted to roll her eyes. Of course they couldn't trust the other Kingdoms right now, not with the current image Atlas had after supposedly helping destroy Beacon. Until Amity was finished the only thing they could do was protect the borders. At least Amity was going to be finished in about three months. By cooperating with James the time needed had been almost eliminated entirely. Rather than a year it was a few months. That wasn't something she could say in this meeting.
Tapping her finger against the table she hated this. If it was up to her she'd fire them all but that would make her seem like a tyrant. At the moment she needed these people or at least she needed them to think that. Until she learned if they were planning something against her putting up with their idiocy was her only option. Unlike Ruby she wasn't the type of person to simply kill everything in her way. She didn't really have the same taste for blood that her future sister in law did.
While she was on the subject, she still needed to propose to Yang. She hadn't even found a ring yet, mainly because she'd been stuck dealing with these rodents.
With the general's support she didn't really need anyone else. Then again having the ability to delegate was a bonus; these weren't the people that she wanted in charge of her company. For one they were stuck in the old traditions that she wanted to move away from. Also they were all racists; she didn't think she could keep her friends from killing them much less herself. Her temper wasn't the easiest to deal with after all.
Ren could become her head of security. He had the mindset after all and with Nora by his side there wasn't anyone in Atlas more qualified. Besides, he no longer wanted to be a huntsmen so he'd need something to do. Yang would be perfect for the job if not for her temper. She loved her dragon but the woman was a bit too much at times. The blonde would be a much better liaison with the military than anyone else.
With those two positions decided all she needed was to choose a public relations manager, research and development manager, human resources manager, and someone to deal with the faunus along with the White Fang. Preferably she'd find a faunus to handle communication with the White Fang, it might even be better to have a member of the White Fang fill that position. After all the woman currently filling the position seemed more likely to have a torture dungeon than preach about equal rights. Yeah these people needed to go. She didn't trust these old fools to support her much less to make her vision a reality. It was safer to get rid of them. Buying their shares of the company then kicking them out was the best option however there was also the possibility of simply killing them.
Killing them in a way that didn't trace back to herself of course. She'd never put her loved ones in danger by blatantly murdering a few pests. Not even Ironwood could absolve her of murdering poor Atlas citizens after all.
"There is also the matter of finding you a husband."
Or maybe he'd be perfectly fine with it.
Eyeing the blue eyed man who thought it was a good idea to bring up her marriage, her hand shifted toward her belt. When she didn't brush against the reassuring metal of her rapier it was a cold reminder that Ren had taken her weapon before she left. The man had most likely known she'd be tempted to kill them; she needed to get him checked for mind reading abilities. Forcing a dull smile onto her face she dared the vermin in front of her to continue speaking. There were ways to kill without using her weapon.
"That dalliance with the blonde has gone on long enough."
This man had the intellegance of a rock.
"It's time to settle down with a proper Atlassian man of course you can still play around if you want."
Did he just imply that Yang was a toy?
"This company needs a male heir after all, it's the only way to have strong leadership."
It was wrong to murder a man who couldn't walk wasn't it? She shouldn't feel the urge to drown him before slicing the body into enough pieces to be scattered across the kingdom.
"Not that your not an adequate leader."
Little to late to backtrack now that she'd already planned out his murder and thought of an alibi. Catching the almost pained expression on his son's face she wondered if he had to deal with this drivel all the time or if today was a special occasion.
"We just feel male leadership would take us in a better direction."
She had to control her temper, Ren taught her those breathing exercises for a reason after all. Holding back a growl she noted that nods that were following his statement.
"My own son would be a great addition to the Schnee family."
His son looked like he wanted to curl up in a corner and die. The pleading expression on the man's face really didn't help her temper either since it showed how little he appreciated his father's match making efforts. At least he wasn't agreeing with the sexist rat in who was getting dangerously close to reaching the limit of her patience. If not for the fact she'd promised Ren not to kill anyone there would be blood painting the floor. Deciding that the best option was to leave the room she shifted in her seat with a cold smile.
"I think we'll have a short recess," she stated with enough ice in her tone to freeze a lava field. Waving her off as if she was nothing but a child, the man didn't seem to care. Standing it wasn't easy to walk from the room.
How could anyone be such a self-centered ass? This man had no idea who he was talking about much less how easily she could kill him. All she had to do was summon literally anything and he'd be dead on the floor unless of course his son was able to fight. She doubted it. Glancing down at her shaking hands she had no idea how she'd deal with this for much longer. That no killing rule Ren had put in place might not last much longer.
"Wait!"
Twisting on her heel she almost bit her tongue to keep from snapping at the blonde man who'd chased after her. It was the distraught expression on his face that kept her from lashing out. After spending so much time around Jaune she'd developed a certain weakness to puppy eyes even if his were a vibrant green rather than ocean blue. Slumping in defeat, she motioned for him to say whatever he was going to say instead of standing there in self-induced anguish.
"I want to apologize on behalf of the Titan family, for my father's actions."
The fact he was bowing to her didn't really help him look like a stoic man about to run his family. It did help her anger fade. Relaxing slightly -there was no way she was going to let her guard down- she sighed. Taking in the sheepish expression that showed when he glanced up at her, it wasn't easy to hold any sort of glare. Managing to keep a frown was all she'd been able to do. His family had been leaders in dust research for years. If this personality he was showing was real then he might just be someone she'd be able to deal with.
"What's your name?"
"Cole Titan, Lady Schnee."
"I see," she stated softly. She'd look him up later when she returned home. Right now she needed time away from all thoughts that board room.
(Cardin)
Tilting on his heels he watched his teammates play rock-paper-scisers to determine who would be his next victim. The plan was to use his semblance to amplify one person's negative emotions and draw most of the grimm out of the mine. Less chance that they'd blow everything up. He didn't like using his semblance on his teammates but Ironwood had reminded him that the Ace Ops were off limits. Given the amount of annoyance rolling off Harriet he was contemplating breaking that rule; if not for Ironwood he would have.
None of them, except Weiss, particularly liked Atlas. Sure they loved the upgrades on their weapons and armor, but the stuffy uptight atmosphere the place had really didn't make it easy to stay sane. He'd been raised in Vale where showing his emotions wasn't a crime, however when ever he broke into laughter or got angry Atlas natives shied away from him. Even Ciel who hardly showed her own emotions leaned away whenever something happened. This place wasn't for them, it never would be; however, it was the home of their allies. Even if they hated Atlas, they'd still fight for it.
"I'll volunteer," Russel stated when Dove started whining about being traumatized by the last time. Frowning for a moment Cardin held back a wince at the idea of using his semblance on the green haired man.
"Actually, let me do it."
Snapping his gaze to Pyrrha who offered a polite smile, he blinked. Why would Ruby's partner offer be subjected to his semblance? The redhead had changed since she woke up, he wasn't the only one to notice, not just because her outfit had changed either although that had been a bit strange. Her corset and skirt had been replaced by a dark emerald green jacket and black pants. Of course she still wore her golden circlet although her hair was now a woven braid over her shoulder. It was a bit strange that the first thing she'd done after waking was to change her outfit although her weapon stayed the same. Eying the smile on her face he noted that it was far sharper than usual.
"Are you certain, you did only wake up a month ago?"
"Pyrrha, you can't."
"It's okay," she stated.
Turning to console her boyfriend she gave Cardin enough time to think over her offer. On one hand he didn't want to use his semblance on any of them, however there was a part of him that wanted to know how she'd react. The woman had always kept her emotions in check, just like Ren. There had never been a chance to use his Semblance on her. If she was offering however then that have him an excuse to see how much she'd be able to withstand. It wasn't that he didn't like Pyrrha, at times he was even fond of her, it was simply the fact she was able to control herself that made him want to see her break. He was a bit of a sadist now that he took a moment to think about it.
Raising an eyebrow at the glare Jaune sent him, it was hard to resist taunting the blonde. Honestly if the boy had a problem then he needed to speak up instead of pouting like a child. Ruby had taken this brat in, trained him, and pushed him to be better; now he couldn't look beyond Pyrrha to see the bigger picture. His attachment to the redhead was going to get one of them killed; most likely Pyrrha.
Scoffing, he grabbed the woman's arm before dragging her away from her pet project. Ignoring her slight stumble, he motioned for his team to get ready. This wasn't something they'd been able to practice so they'd have to be careful. The Ace Ops were under orders only to step in if things looked dire. Basically they were only here to keep them from dying not to hold their hand. Flickering his gaze to Ciel as his team moved into position, he was a bit surprised to note she'd moved to stand beside him. Although her hands were shaking again.
"Ready," he asked just loud enough for the two women to hear. Tugging her arm from his grip Pyrrha nodded with a heated expression that worried him. There was something off about her.
Ciel just nodded. Tugging at the hem of her shirt she seemed move like a child than anything else. Squaring her shoulders, she took a deep breath before twisting the switch on her gloves causing them to light up with an errie blue glow. Laying a hand on the metal rod on her back she tried to steel herself. She wasn't a fighter, but there was no time for her to be anything else. Even when he offered to let her hang back with Ironwood, she'd wanted to stand beside them. Apparently she had some idea about proving her worth; it was ridiculous. Laying a hand on her head, he smirked when all she did was pout at him.
Dropping his hand, he focused on Pyrrha. The polite smile hadn't faded yet her eyes were dark. Letting his semblance reach out he almost didn't find anything to amplify behind the tight control she had. It was like poking at a sealed box with a spoon. Circling the box he searched for any opening no matter how small it was. Anything would do even something tiny like discomfort or annoyance. Just locking onto a single negative emotion was enough to turn her serenity into a hurricane. He wasn't expecting to find grief. It was new and raw; something he wouldn't be touching. Bypassing that emotion completely – he was a jerk but she was still his ally – he dug deeper finding a hint of insecurity then amplified it. Her smile twitched.
To be honest, it was a bit intimidating to see her green eyes turn a violent emerald as her hand shifted toward her weapon. No matter how terrifying it was to be on the other side of her glare, it was also a bit beautiful. Pyrrha Nikos still couldn't match Ruby. She lacked the edge that came with killing along with the desire to shed blood. Staring here down, he knew she'd never try to actually kill him. That was why, he held no fear of her. Grabbing the handle of his mace when the ground started to shake, he pushed his semblance further drawing every grimm in the area. It was time to put on a show.
Sentinels erupted from the ground causing Ciel to stumble at the same time he cut off his semblance. Moving to guard the woman he barely noticed Pyrrha moving until she was gliding through the grimm. The speed and force that she moved at almost matched Ruby's – when she wasn't using her semblance – and her eyes held a minute emerald glow that he wouldn't have noticed if she hadn't met his eyes for an instant. It was over before it had really started, she'd won without trying; however, that wasn't what bothered him. Bouncing back from his semblance like that made her dangerous.
It made her a threat.
Blinking slowly as if she knew what he was thinking the woman smiled. The usually polite expression was twisted by the cold glint in her eyes. Getting rid of her now might be better in the long run. If she turned on them, he might not be able to stop her. Tightening his grip on his weapon he stepped froward only to freeze. She wasn't smiling. Her eyes were focused on something behind him as her grip on her weapon tightened. Then the thunder of footsteps finally reached him.
Turning slowly he slumped at the herd of Sabers running in their direction. Of course he'd summoned every grimm in the area rather than just those in the mine. When had they ever been lucky enough for something to go right. Never. They'd never been that lucky. Maybe the universe had simply decided to screw them over at every turn. Well, Atlas was going to get that show after all.
(Weiss)
Throwing away the coffee without taking a sip of it, she wanted to scream. Even after an hour she hadn't calmed down at all. If anything she'd only ensured that everyone in a five block radius was scared of her. Stalking through the hallway, she narrowed her eyes at anyone who even thought to stop her. There weren't many. Where did they get off telling her to marry a man and have a son? Did they forget she was the first Schnee in generations to win the title of family head through combat? It'd be better just to kill them all.
"That was a waste of coffee."
Stilling she glanced at the brown haired man who simply raised a hand in her direction. Great, Ironwood's doctor was just the person she needed to see right now. That was sarcasm, she'd rather see her future fiancé than Ironwoods pet. She'd honestly thought he'd be helping with the raid on the mine rather than stay in the city. Generally he trailed behind Ironwood the same way her sister did.
"What do you want Aiden," she asked hoping that he wasn't going to question her relationship decisions.
"You seem upset."
"Are you offering to let me cry on your shoulder?"
"I'm offering to listen," he stated. Eyeing the man who hadn't fallen for her sarcasm she sighed. At least he was better than the idiots in the board room. Glancing at the clock, she decided that making them wait for a while longer was reason enough to vent all her issues.
"The SDC board want me to get married."
"That doesn't seem so bad."
"To a man or their choosing and have a child preferably a son that can inherit the company allowing it to return to glory."
He stilled, as he processed her words. The cup in his hands shaking for a moment before he shifted on his heels. Then his eyes turned a violet color that reminded her of nightshade. Tossing away the foam cup, he didn't even look as it fell into the trash can behind him. While it was true she didn't know much about Aiden she did know that he didn't throw away perfectly good coffee. Eyeing the doctor who ran a tense hand through his hair, she frowned. Was this Aiden?
"Want me to kill them," he asked as if talking about the weather.
"What?"
"The Doc doesn't really approve but right now he's willing to make an exception."
"Who are you?"
This wasn't Aiden. The speech manurisms were far to different as was the almost excited energy when talking about murder.
"Oh right," he mumbled. He'd forgot that he'd never actually talked to the Schnee girl. Her sister though was someone who really hated when he came out to play. Aiden thought it was because of his violent tendencies but he didn't really understand what the Doc meant. They'd been a killer before Aiden had emerged so what was the point in pretending to be anything else. Running a hand through his hair again, he huffed before shrugging. The permission he felt from Aiden was enough to make his say, "I'm doc's other half. The more violent one."
"I-"
"So about killing them, I'll make it look like an accident," he offered. It had been ages since he'd gotten to kill anyone. Seeing the way she straightened he doubted he'd be able to return to his days of painting the town.
"I'd rather they live, if only so they regret looking down on me."
Okay, he could respect that. Still that didn't solve her current issue. From what he remembered from Doc's files, this one was in a relationship with the yellow one. He hadn't cared much beyond learning about the red one and the short one. The red one – he vaguely thought her name was Pyrrha – was stange after coming out of her coma, but he didn't really care about that; he wanted to fight her. The short one, Ruby, was the girl Ironwood had formed an alliance with. And the one Aiden failed to fix or at least that was how Doc saw it.
Truth was he didn't agree with the Doc, after all the girl was alive. That was the important thing. So what if she couldn't have little brats of her own; it wasn't their fault. Doc didn't agree, hence why he'd turned the focus of his secret project to helping the short one. Wait, Aiden's project needed a test subject didn't it. Eyeing the Schnee – he only remembered she was a Schnee due to her hair – he nodded internally. Even Doc was a little interested although he honestly thought that might be because Aiden hadn't slept in over two days.
"You need a kid right," he asked before internally wincing. That sounded like he was offering to snatch a brat of the street.
"No kidnapping."
Shrugging off the bite in her voice, he motioned for her to follow as he started heading toward Aiden's lab. Her mumbles told him she really didn't want to know what he was up to. He didn't care. Besides he'd spent too much time watching Aiden flounder around rather than actually make a move. James might be off babysitting, but the man wasn't going to be gone for long; if they were going to make a move then it had to be now, even if their chosen king disapproved. By the end of the day, the Atlas council were going to be found dead in their homes while James had an airtight alibi. The only people who knew what he'd done were Shifter and himself. Luckily the other man would rather chew off his own tongue than betray them.
Entering Aiden's lab, he ignored the way Weiss froze in the doorway. This room was only for them and those they trusted. At the moment they had the ability to solve little Schnee's issue so they had leverage over her. All they needed to do was push her enough that the SDC funded Aiden's project; then they'd have more than enough resources to accomplish their goal. Glancing around, he relaxed a bit when he noted the two women in the corner although only one of them was human. Bright eyes met his own for only a moment and he grinned.
"Aiden!"
Catching the android, he returne her hug knowing she was the only person allowed to do such a thing. Bouncing away from him, Penny happily greeted the Schnee who was still eyeing the lab with more than a little suspicion. Good, her lack of trust made her an excellent ally.
The human size stasis pods were the first thing she'd noticed when she stepped into the room followed by the large metal boxes along the far wall. Without knowing much about science she couldn't really recognize anything, but she did recognize the photos tacked to the wall. It didn't help her relax when the brown haired woman eyed her like she was prey. Yeah, there was defiantly nothing suspicious going on here; no it was a perfectly normal lab. It just looked like something out of a mad scientist lair for no reason.
"Why is my sister on your wall?"
"Grumpy and Ironwood volunteered their DNA for the cause," he stated as he moved to grab a folder from Doc's desk. Catching the glare she sent at him he grinned.
"What cause?"
"The future," he stated trying to emulate Doc's perfect smile instead it looked like a feral grin.
From the raised eyebrow she didn't believe him; that was a perfectly reasonable response. Slumping into a chair he glanced down at the file before giving up on doing Aiden's recruitment pitch. Even the Doc was laughing at him. Smug pacifist jerk, he'd pick a fight with Grumpy then switch out leaving Aiden to fight the woman if that laughter didn't stop. Perking up when Doc fell completely silent he turned his attention back to the woman in front of him.
"Ironwood will never find a nice woman and settle down, it just not something he's interested in. Grumpy "Winter" doesn't want to be under anyone's control that she doesn't trust. Wheels "Pietro" is too old to look for love same with Goggles "Maria". All of them volunteered their DNA for this project because they want to support the next generation."
Ignoring Penny who'd translated his nicknames he spun around in the chair for a moment while little Schnee processed his words. Of course there were many more volunteers but those were the highest ones on the list. DNA was taken from all over Atlas both human and faunus mostly from local hospitals. Then there was the DNA taken from Huntsmen and Huntresses who'd fallen on the field of battle. That was where the ethical problems began, after all a dead person couldn't give consent. At the moment Doc was only using the DNA of those that had died since that couldn't cause any custody battles. With the living volunteers being mostly same-sex couples and those that weren't emotionally stable enough to be in a physical relationship. Of course there were those that couldn't physically have kids too like Ruby; although the Doc hadn't told shorty about this project yet.
"Are you cloning them?"
"Seriously? That's where you went with that," he asked earning a small glare. Well it did sound like he was cloning them now that he thought about it. Shaking his head he stood before moving over to the chart next to the row of photos. Motioning for her to come over he said, "Doc has a degree in genetics. He started this project to give Penny a human body, it evolved into this."
"What is this? Potential matches, compatibility tests, what exactly are you trying to do?"
"Kids, we're making kids. We find the most compatible matches then the volunteers pick the from the list," he explained. The glint of understanding in her gaze was enough to make him smirk although Doc was currently calling him an idiot. Rolling his eyes internally he said, "want to be our first trial? We can combine your DNA, that of your girlfriend, and that of a man you choose."
It was a way to solve her problem, but it wasn't a decision she could make alone. Glancing through the list she frowned before shifting her gaze back to him. There was no way he was offering this just to help her out. It was likely he needed the funding to continue. He'd also said something about creating Penny a human body. She had to learn more before agreeing to anything.
"This isn't a decision I can make right now. I also need to know what you want," she ordered leaving no room for him to refuse.
"Doc wants funding," he stated. Catching the way she frowned once she noticed his wording, he smirked a little. She was smart, the only thing he wanted was the ability to ensure Penny's happiness. The android wanted to be human so he'd make that dream a reality. Taking the large folder that Doc's assistant passed him, it was easy to hand it over to the white haired woman. Never letting his smug expression fade he said, "that's all the information you need to make a choice. Get back to the Doc soon."
"I don't like you."
"You don't need to like me, Juno will escort you out," he said offering her a wave.
Rolling her eyes the Schnee stalked from the room with the folder held tightly in her arms. She'd take the offer. There was no way she wouldn't when it solved the issue of an heir. Reaching back to rub his shoulder he frowned a bit, Doc had really let their body get weak hadn't he? It was past time they started training again; he was still holding out hope that he'd be able to kill someone in the next few months.
"So about your body," he started causing Penny to stiffen.
The worried glint in her eyes was enough to make him rethink the entire conversation. They'd already decided on using Pietro's DNA and Maria had volunteered too. It wouldn't be hard to manipulate her genes to give her the same appearance however he didn't know if that was what she wanted. Doc hadn't had the heart to talk to her about it either, but they still had time. Pietro needed time to find a way to transfer her aura and memories and Aiden needed a nap. Seriously they'd gotten more sleep as assassins. Glancing at the clock he nodded to himself.
"I'm going to bed, if Doc wakes up before noon tomorrow knock him back out."
(Cardin)
Every grimm was dead, which was great except that he wanted to murder Pyrrha. The woman hadn't lifted a single finger to help even when a fucking Geist showed up. Glaring at the smug redhead he ignored the fact that her newfound sadism made her a perfect fit for Ruby's inner circle. Or as the reapers lover. Yeah he wasn't touching that one; he still hoped that Ruby found someone that wasn't a psychopath or murderer. There wasn't much of a chance but he could hope.
Laying on the snowy ground he huffed when his team followed his lead. Jaune of course went to fuss over his girlfriend, he was really starting to think the blonde had selective vision or something. It was more likely the blonde was an idiot; Ruby needed to start choosing better pets. A coward and a blind idiot weren't the best choices for someone like her. Groaning he blinked when Pyrrha moved to sit down beside him.
"So learn your lesson?"
"Crazy bitch," he growled only to earn a polite smile. She was the devil; he was starting to like her. This woman was a good fit for Ruby's partner. Sighing he nodded refusing to let the exhaustion show on his face as he said, "I want a spar."
"Sure, want to go now?"
"Screw you."
Laughing the redhead leaned back on her hands. Somehow the wide grin on her face made her seem more intimidating. So she'd been annoyed when he thought of killing her; as if he'd even be able to scratch her. Somehow the woman had become stronger after her coma. Did she absorb some of the magic like Ozpin wanted? Either way, if she was on Ruby's side then she was his ally. Even if she was insane.
"Let's go home Kids!"
Groaning he considered throwing his shoe at the general who was smirking. Hopefully Weiss's had had went better than his. Eyeing the easy way Pyrrha got up he frowned when she offered to help him up. Taking her hand, he refused to be embarrassed when she pulled him off the ground easily. He wasn't Ruby's strongest ally, he'd known that for a while; however, for some reason he didn't want Pyrrha to be the person to take that spot.
Hi guys, isn't it a lovely day. My culinary teacher is having our class do group projects; at least i don't actually have to talk to people in person. Anyway here's the chapter. What do you guys think? Next chapter we're back to Ruby and Oscar along with Blake. After that will be the Mistral arc which will focus mainly on Ruby so this is probably the last you'll see of the Atlas group for a while. Blake won't have any more parts for a while either so after the update of her story Ruby's going to be the main focus.
Since we reached 200 reviews (still can't believe it) I'm going to give a spoiler (ready?):
Ruby will have kids (not really a spoiler but its something some of you have wondered about)(I think the bigger question is who's going to be the father of Weiss and Yangs kids) anyway she's going to have eight kids; five are adopted: Jay, Jasper, Amber, Nix, and Harlequin (Harley).
Anyway, stay safe and have a good day
-Shyla
