I've had a really hard time writing these days, keep on rotating on what story I have muse on which is definitely slacking on all three accounts. I wish that I knew what it is. I need to get my groove back for sure. Hence this chapter being so short, I want to deliver something so you guys know I didn't just vanish.

Jane was at the dinner table with her family and Korsak just picking at the toppings on her pizza, her brothers were discussing their day and Jane in all honesty wasn't paying attention, but she did notice when everyone had gotten quiet.

"So Jane sweetie how was your day?" Angela asked and Jane shrugged.

"Could have been better, could have been worse. I really don't want to talk about it."

"I know how hard it must be Jane, but it'll work out it's not like you're never going to see Maura again."

Jane looked up at her mother in complete confusion. "What? Ma, how do you even know..."

"Constance called the house looking for her this afternoon, and then she told me all that was going on. I'm really sorry to hear that but I told her we could find ways for you to go visit her in New York. I know it's not the same... but it's something..."

"Of course it's not the same mother, she's going to be in a different state and I'm going to be here in Boston, New York City is hardly a place that I want to visit, Boston is my home and it's Maura's too. Just because her father screwed up, doesn't mean things need to change," she stood up.

"Why do I have the feeling this doesn't all have to do with Maura being sent back home."

"Maybe it's not but I won't stand here or sit around and let the best thing to ever happen to me leave just like that. There's too much going on and I need her just as much as she needs me," Jane started to leave the dining room.

"Where are you going Jane?" Angela asked out of concern, Tommy and Frankie both nervous by Jane's outburst.

"I'm not hungry, going for a walk," Jane grabbed her jacket and walked out of the house, slamming the door behind her, coming face to face with none other than Maura, almost body slamming right into her. "Shit Maura, I almost knocked you off of the porch. You have good balance, did you want to join me on my walk? I just really had to get out of there."

Maura nodded, "Sure I'd like that, but first," she grabbed Jane by the arm pulling her close, standing on her tiptoes to give her a kiss. Jane could feel Maura smile into it, she pulled away after a moment looking into Maura's hazel eyes.

"I take it things went well or else you probably wouldn't be smiling right now." Jane was trying to get a read on Maura's face.

"Well after a pretty intense talk with my mother, I get to stay in Boston. She realized that she couldn't stop me, I'm 18 and moving would just be completely idiotic and..." Maura's sentence got cut off once Jane grabbed Maura by the waist by her good arm, lifting her up and spinning her around. Maura was entirely surprised at Jane's reaction but it warmed her heart even as the brunette placed her steady back onto the porch. "I um, seems like you got your strength back."

"I'm feeling pretty invincible right now, this is great news, I've been worried all day about you."

"As much as it pleases me that I get to stay, mother has still decided to leave, tonight in fact. We had an argument and she's running away. I guess to everything good, a bad thing comes with it."

Jane rested her forehead against Maura's, "Yeah but let's say that the positives outweigh the negatives. Plus your mother will always be a phone call away, I consider that very lucky."

Maura knew where her girlfriend was getting at, "That's just because you can't stand your mother."

"Well I wouldn't go ahead and say all that now. My mother has several redeeming qualities about herself. Like she's one hell of a cook..."

"And? What else?" Maura raised a brow and Jane shrugged.

"She's actually happy for once, in all my 18 years of life I don't think I ever seen my mother truly so happy or even so relaxed. It's kind of nice."

"She definitely deserves it, so can I come inside, I know we didn't go on the walk but we don't exactly need it if we're both in a good mood, plus I'm pretty hungry."

Jane smirked, "Sure, of course," she linked her arm with Maura's as they went inside. Jane was pretty sure that this smile was never leaving her face, she had her girlfriend back and she planned to keep it that way.

There's the chapter, again I apologize for it being so short. I still exist just my brain doesn't want to write or give me ideas, but you guys are so great I wanted to give you something. I definitely need words of encouragement or send me ideas of what you'd like to see happen. All thoughts are much appreciated.
