Author's Note:
I wish RT had stuck with Grimm Eclipse. But when I say that, I really mean I wish they had actually planned something for Grimm Eclipse.
It could have been a great combo-hack and slash game. But the story wasn't thought out. Dr. Merlot was a great idea for a villain and it will go no-where. Though considering somewhat morally grey characters in RWBY can't exist he would have been ruined eventually. (Though he was kinda meh to begin with, I liked the idea of someone using the Grimm against other Grimm more than him as a villain)
Oh well, I'm excited for volume 9 only because I'm a fan of the show. I hope we learn lots of lore. I like RWBY's world so much.

Chapter 22- Oh Captains, My Captains
"Red vs Blue Season 12" appeared on screen followed by "Oh Captains, My Captains" with the theme.
"Oh Captains, My Captains?" Ruby raised an eyebrow.
"Whatever that means, it's referring to the new captains." Blake pointed out.
"I wonder who will train them the best?" Nora put her hands to her cheeks. "If Sarge were here it'd be him, but since he's not I think Grif's men will be the best."
"I think each will have talents of their own. But as a fighting force, I will say Tucker's." Pyrrha smiled.
"Yeah me too." Jaune agreed.
"Grif's men will be so stealthy they won't even need to fight." Nora smirked. "Years of having to avoid Sarge has trained Grif, and he's passed on his skills."
"I doubt one will train their men better than the others." Ren deadpanned.
"Me too, but Grif's men have already shown promise." Blake added.
The screen is black as the characters talk.
Smith: "(voice over) Red team, this is Blue team. We are in position, how copy? Over."
"Oh hey professor Port! Now all of our professors have voices!" Ruby whooped.
"I hope this one doesn't talk as much." Blake mumbled.
"Ruby." Weiss leaned forward and looked at her. "You're forgetting Ms. Peach, Ms. Greene, and Mr. Mulberry."
"…" Ruby stared at her. "So yeah professor Port! All our professors are in the show!"
Weiss threw her hands up, it's as if the other professors don't matter!
Simmons' Lieutenant/Volleyball Chick: "(voice over) Blue team, this is Red team. I copy, Blue in position. Over."
"Oh hey that's Cinder! The girl from Haven." Ruby smiled.
"That's kind of random." Yang shrugged.
"What do you mean?" Ruby asked.
"For her voice to show up, so far it's been people that have been.. important to us. People we know more, or at least people we've fought." Yang explained, glancing at Weiss. The White Fang guy with the chainsaw voices Locus. Which is also pretty random.
"Many of the voices we hear in the show could possibly be from people we don't know yet still people that live on Remnant." Ren pointed out.
"Woah, that's freaky." Ruby commented.
Smith: "(voice over) Gold team, this is Blue team. All units are in position and awaiting further instructions, what is your status? Over."
Gold team doesn't answer.
Smith: "(voice over) Gold team 2-3, this is Blue team 1-2. Radio check, over."
Bitters: "(voice over) Uh yeah, we're here Blue team."
"He's not following radio protocol." Weiss frowned.
Smith: "(voice over) Gold team, I repeat, what is your status? Over."
Bitters: "(voice over) Uhhh...We're pretty good?"
Smith: "(voice over) What?"
Bitters: "(voice over) Actually, uh, we were wondering if we could maybe change our name to, uh, Orange team."
Smith: "(voice over) What difference does it make?!"
"Professor Port never gets that angry." Ruby giggled.
Cut to Grif on the radio.
Grif: "You tell them it makes a big difference Bitters, because I am orange! I am not gold! I am not yellow! I am fucking orange!"
"His name is also spelled with two F's." Jaune chuckled.
"He really gives a second F about his color." Yang quipped.
"Gold is too flattering for him." Weiss crossed her arms, "He is orange. Donut is Pink, Tucker is aqua."
"They had to animate him to show how angry he is." Ruby laughed.
"And to let people know that this season will have animation." Blake added.
Simmons: "Grif!"
Grif turns to look at Simmons and Caboose standing beside a door.
Simmons: "Get off the radio. The teams are fine."
Grif: "The teams suck."
Simmons: "You're gonna blow our cover."
Grif: "Uhhh. Alright we'll be Gold."
"In the new game, Grif looks even more orange than normal." Blake noted.
"Yeah in the older games I could see why the others thought he was yellow." Jaune added. "But now he's definitely orange."
Grif flips Simmons off and speaks on the radio.
Grif: "Go tell the Blue team to suck a dick and then get in position."
Yang snorted, "Wow. That was a good one."
"He told them to.. do that. That wasn't clever at all, just vulgar." Weiss scoffed.
Blake sighed, "Then get in position." She quoted.
Weiss groaned, "Yang, you are a child."
Yang snickered uncontrollably, Blake was able to hold it in.
Bitters: "Whatever you say, Captain."
"PLANET CHORUS. FORMER MINING FACILITY."
Grif walks up to where Simmons and Caboose are.
Simmons: "We're infiltrating an enemy base and you're bitching about colors?"
"That sums up the great war." Jaune joked.
"Dr. Oobleck will bury you in homework if he heard you say that." Ruby pointed out.
Jaune paled, "Please don't tell him I said that. I know the war started for a lot of complicated reasons! Besides, Professor Ozpin said the same thing."
Grif: "It's a misleading title, people could get confused!"
Simmons: "Oh shut up!"
Simmons faces the security door behind him and crouches.
Caboose: "No he's right, I'm confused."
Simmons: "Caboose, you're always confused."
Caboose: "Well that sounds confusing."
"I'm confused." Ruby raised her hand.
Simmons uses some sort of hacking tool to hack the passcode lock.
Simmons: "Whoo. Okay door's opening in approximately fifteen seconds."
Grif: "Yeah, yeah."
Simmons: "Oh man, what if this doesn't work?"
Grif: "Probably won't."
Simmons: "What if it's a trap?"
Grif: "Probably is."
"And that is why you always prepare for failure." Ren smiled, recalling Delta's words.
"We haven't failed a mission yet." Ruby smirked.
"We didn't stop the train." Weiss reiterated for the millionth time.
"Yeah b- but the breach was contained! No one got hurt too badly and we saved the city!" Ruby grinned.
Simmons: "What would Sarge say in a time like this?"
Grif: "Shut it Simmons."
Nora grinned.
Simmons: "Probably. Yeah."
Passcode beeps in: PASSWORD12
"Even the federal army doesn't have good security." Weiss facepalmed.
Blake smirked, having noticed the caves around the group. This isn't real, it's a mock training battle.
Simmons: "Here we go."
The door opens. Caboose sprints inside yelling and unloads a full assault rifle clip into the wall. Cut to reveal that Caboose has written "CABOSE" in bullet holes on the wall.
"He did that before in the canyon with all the fanatics." Pyrrha chuckled. "He still hasn't learned how to spell his name."
Caboose: "Did we win?"
Simmons: "(sighs) No. Apparently we've unlocked one of several security doors."
Grif: "Oh, so I talk on the radio and it's jeopardizing the mission, but that happens and everything's fine?"
"This mission is doomed." Weiss pinched the bridge of her nose.
Caboose: "(whispering) Shush Grif. They might hear you."
Second door beeps open.
Simmons: "(voice over) Door's opening."
Caboose once again rushes forward, yelling and firing.
"He's going to waste all his ammo." Ruby commented, shaking her head.
Grif: "(sighs)"
Bitters: "(over radio) Captain Grif, we have a visual on the main compound, over."
Grif: "Whats it look like?"
Cut to Bitters and two other gold team members on a cliff looking down onto the enemy base.
Bitters: "Well on a scale from 1 to 10... I'd say we're pretty fucked."
"Oh.. I thought this was training because they're in the caves." Ruby commented. "Those are feds."
"I thought the same thing, they could just have their armor?" Jaune suggested.
Cut to Caboose's Lieutenant and another blue team member behind some crates.
Smith: "Stow that kind of talk Bitters. Our C.O.'s put a lot of thought into this plan, so why don't you show a little faith?"
"Bitters is bitter." Yang quipped.
Cut to Simmons and Grif sneaking down a hallway.
Smith: "Right Captain Caboose?"
Camera follows Grif and Simmons down a hall to where Caboose is standing
Caboose: "Yes."
Simmons: "Alright we're almost there. Is everyone ready?"
All of the Lieutenants: "Ready."
Caboose randomly appears standing in the same position as before.
Caboose: "Ready."
Pyrrha laughed, "I don't know how Caboose does it."
"His powers are mystifying and terrifying." Ren chuckled.
Simmons' Lieutenant: "(voice over) Captain Simmons, Jensen has something to say to you."
Simmons: "Uh.. Yes Jensen."
Cut to Jensen and another red team member hiding behind a wall looking at a Warthog with two enemy soldiers near it.
Jensen: "I just wanted to say that no matter what happens, it's been an honor working with you sir."
Yang's face fell. "Damnit Ruby! You wanted my voice to be lame and it is! Why do I have a lisp!?"
Ruby burst out laughing, "She sounds like you did every time you went to the dentist after sparring."
"They numbed my mouth, ugh." Yang groaned. "Come on, I mean this is kind of funny and ironic but come on!" She repeated.
Weiss laughed, "At least you got your wish."
"I wanted my character to be a badass! Well.. Jensen could turn out to be cool." Yang hummed.
"Yeah don't judge a voice by it's.. voice?" Ruby shrugged.
"A person by their sound." Ren suggested.
"Yeah, that." Ruby nodded.
"Noted." Yang sighed.
Simmons: "(awkwardly) Uh.. thank... you lieutenant. That is.. yes. Uh (clears throat) Affirmative... Over."
"Well she definitely has an effect on Simmons." Yang smirked.
"Any woman has that effect on Simmons apparently." Weiss rolled her eyes.
"Except Sister, Tex, and Carolina who arguably would be much more intimidating to Simmons for various reasons." Ren commented.
Cut back to Grif and Caboose.
Grif: "What the fuck was that?"
Simmons: "What?"
Grif: "Did you just stroke out for a second? You sounded like Caboose."
"Caboose is never awkward with his stuttering." Pyrrha commented.
"I used to sound like Simmons talking to girls. Then my dad said that all girls look for is confidence, and well.. you all know how that went." Jaune blushed.
Ruby, Yang, and Nora chuckled. Pyrrha smiled at Jaune sympathetically and Weiss groaned at the memory.
Caboose: "Um if he's me can I be him?"
Grif: "Shut up."
Caboose: "Look at me, I'm smart. I like slide rules and protractors. Oh, I can't wait to do some protracting."
Simmons: "So I still have problems talking to girls. Big deal."
"It is a big deal, talking to people is a part of life." Pyrrha commented.
"Some people just build up that fear." Yang shrugged, "His fault and not his fault at the same time."
"Fears are weird." Ruby stated simply.
Grif: "Yeah. It is! Especially when your squad consists entirely of girls. Now man up!"
"Man up, ugh." Yang groaned.
"Yeah, tell me about it." Jaune nodded.
"Somehow Professor Port seems like the person who would say that. But he wouldn't mean it in a bad way." Weiss mumbled to herself.
Simmons: "Oh no, this is like junior high all over again...!"
Grif: "What?"
Simmons: "Why do I have to play in the women's league?! I wanna be a mathlete, Dad! A mathlete!"
Caboose: "Yeah, okay, I don't wanna be Simmons anymore."
Pyrrha chuckled.
Grif: "Goddamn it! Do I have to do everything around here? (over radio) Everybody get ready. We're going on my mark."
"Grif is taking this a lot more seriously than I thought he would." Weiss smiled.
"He's taking responsibility, speaking of which. Where's Tucker?" Pyrrha asked.
"I've been wondering where he is too." Blake hummed.
Grif: "3. 2. 1."
Grif, Simmons, and Caboose run around the corner and stop. Cut to reveal four Federal Army of Chorus soldiers.
Grif: "...Every man for himself! AAHHHHH!"
Grif, Simmons, and Caboose flee in different directions, shooting randomly.
Grif: "Shield me with your bodies! It's important that I live!"
Weiss facepalmed.
"It's definitely just training." Blake chuckled.
Cut to Bitters and gold team on the cliff.
Bitters: "Wait what? What's going on?"
Other Gold team member: "Suppressing fire! (starts shooting at a soldier operating a turret)"
The soldier on the turret turns and begins to fire on Gold team, who start to back up and fall backwards off the cliff.
New Republic Soldiers: "Reinforcements on our way!"
Gold team falls down and lands on top of the reinforcements.
Bitters: "Grif…"
"This is just embarrassing." Yang winced.
Cut to Caboose running across the battlefield yelling and shooting
Smith: "Captain Caboose NOOOO! (runs after Caboose)"
Cut to a warthog driven by Jensen and another red team member.
Jensen: "Don't worry, we're coming!"
Warthog drives out and runs over Smith.
Jensen: "Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! Why are there so many pedals on this thing?!"
"Aw she sucks at driving too!?" Yang groaned.
"Too many pedals, which doesn't make sense on the warthog?" Ruby looked to Yang for clarification.
"Brakes, reverse, forward. Left wheels, right wheels. The sixth I have no idea. I just realized that the tank needs breaks too and I left that out. The six pedals make no sense." Yang sighed.
Cut to the middle of the battlefield where Simmons and Grif are running around yelling indistinctly. Suddenly an alarm buzzes and everyone stops. Kimball walks out.
Kimball: "What the hell was that?!"
"Ohh angry adult Rubes." Yang chuckled. "Sis you got an amazing character."
"Thanks!" Ruby grinned, "I'd be mad too, what was that!? That should have been easy! There were like eight bad guys."
Cut back to Grif and Simmons. Caboose runs up yelling behind them and soon stops.
Caboose: "Oh we stopped."
Kimball: "What is the point of these training exercises if you people aren't going to work together?"
Simmons: "But we did! We had team names and everything!"
"There's more to it than that." Ruby commented.
Jaune nodded, "Yeah." I need to make sure they remember the duo move names. Flower power is going to be so good!
Caboose: "Grif was gold!"
Grif: "Orange!"
Kimball: "You had a plan, you were organized but once again you crumbled under pressure. (sighs) Lieutenants, debrief with your COs, everyone else, round up all training weapons and uniforms. That's enough capture the flag for today."
"They're training with capture the flag, that's awesome." Ruby grinned.
"It all started with a capture the flag game." Jaune added.
Grif: "Whoa, and what the hell are we supposed to say? 'Hey guys, sorry you still suck. Turns out we suck too!' At least we have something in common."
Kimball: "Tell them what they need to hear. Tell them that they can do this, and that next time they will be better."
Simmons: "So you want us to lie to them?"
Kimball: "No. I don't."
Kimabll walks off.
Ruby smiled, "That's good, that's really good. I gotta use that."
"She really is a grown up Ruby. I can almost hear you saying that." Weiss turned to Ruby.
"You just did." Ruby raised an eyebrow.
"No I mean right now, with your voice so.. as it is now." Weiss said diplomatically.
Ruby rolled her eyes and smiled. "I want to sound like her, she sounds so much more serious! I don't know if I can pull that off."
"You can, eventually." Yang grinned. Sometimes you can even do it now.
Jensen: "You... wanted to talk to us, sirs?"
Grif: "(sighs) I hope Tucker has it better than this."
"F.A.C. OUTPOST 22"
Cut to a sniper rifle scope aiming at a Federal Army of Chorus soldier operating a turret.
Tucker: "(voice over) Hey Felix."
Cut to show Tucker, Felix, Palomo, and two other soldiers in a tunnel.
Tucker: "You think I could have a turn with that sniper rifle?"
Jaune laughed.
"I want to see him with a sniper again. Last time he shot Tex." Ruby giggled.
"He unloaded a round into her ass and she was not happy." Yang chuckled.
"I think it's a little ironic that while Tucker never gets a sniper rifle, a very long ranged weapon. He's the only one who can use a sword." Ren chuckled.
Felix: "Absolutely not."
Tucker: "Unhh."
Palomo: "Uh.. sometimes I.. like to take my hands and uh cup them around my eyes. Like little hand binoculars."
"Neptune!" Weiss blushed and smiled. "That sounds like something Neptune would say."
"He sounds a little.. dumber than Neptune." Blake chuckled.
"That's not saying much, heyo!" Yang raised her hand.
Blake responded with a half-hearted high five.
"Neptune may be an idiot but he's not dumb." Weiss crossed her arms. "Daft as well.. and a dork, but he is an intellectual."
Fade to black.
Tucker: "Shut the fuck up Palomo."
The episode ends.
"So Tucker and his men are ready for missions while the others are not." Jaune noted.
"Like Kimball said, he's driven." Pyrrha smiled.
—Lieutenant Cinder SS— Not Canon
"So boss, what do you think?" Mercury asked casually.
"It is a little underwhelming to voice such a minor character. Though she may prove to be more important, I'd like to know her name at least." Cinder explained with a neutral expression
"It's okay, my character wasn't important either." Emerald assured her..
My character better become important as the show goes on. Cinder thought as she glared at the screen, turning to Emerald a cool look of disappointment stretched across her face. "What makes you think I need assurance?" Cinder scoffed. "It is a voice in a show. Art does not imitate life."
"Sorry ma'am." Emerald looked down.
"The dork and the tease got voices." Mercury commented, ignoring the exchange.
"She sounded more like a spaz than a bimbo." Emerald snickered.
Cinder and Neo rolled their eyes.
—Lieutenant Neptune SS— Not Canon
"Ha-hey Neptune! Or should I say Palomo?" Sun smirked, using hand binoculars to look at Neptune. "How ya doing over there?"
Neptune turned, doing the exact same thing. "Doing great! Man this really works!"
The two were standing at opposite ends of the room.
"Dorks." Coco rolled her eyes.
—Lieutenant Port SS— Not Canon
"What a fine example of a soldier! Caring for his captain even in the wake of an embarrassing defeat!" Port wiped his face. "It brings a tear to my eye!"
"You would make an excellent soldier Peter." Ozpin complimented.
"I believe I would, alas the life of a soldier is not for me. There is more adventure in being a huntsman and a teacher!" Port smiled. "But the calling has never ceased, perhaps one day."
"I'm sure James would welcome you." Goodwitch rolled her eyes.
Port chortled, "Oh my I have broached the subject to him many times! He believes I would do more good as a huntsman. Was quite insistent, he knows best after all!"
Glynda Goodwitch and Ozpin looked at each other and chuckled.
