Fate/Infinity Shuffle: Reshuffled

Chapter 22 – Call:

Mizuki and Sayuri proposed to the male members of their Team to eat lunch at the school's rooftop.

"But isn't the rooftop closed?" Edward wondered as the four walked up the last flight of stairs."

"It was until Mizuki broke the lock."

"W-What?!" Edward and Isemi both looked surprised.

"Is this true, Leader?" Isemi asked.

"Yes." Mizuki's casual tone and answer suggested that it was nothing unusual for her. The two boys directed their gazes to Sayuri, who simply made an expression that said 'I don't know either' with a sigh. "Eh?"

"What is it?"

"IT's locked again."

"Oh no…" Sayuri expected the worse. "Isemi, Edward, grab her!"

"W-What?!"

"She's gonna kick it open again!"

"Install."

"H-Huh?" The three turned at the blatantly transforming teen. She pulled out her knife and gently passed in through the gap between the door and its frame while her eyes turned bright blue.

After uninstalling, Mizuki pulled the door open with a cheeky smile. "Come on guys."

"…" The three looked at each other with the same thought.

"Was that better than kicking the door open?"

"I didn't know you were so violent, Mizuki."

Edward's words almost made her choke on the food. "H-Hey! I'm not violent!"

"But you kicked down a door…"

"but that-!" Mizuki suddenly felt her phone receiving a message. She checked it and quickly replied to the text message with one of her own. "Lizzie is coming."

"She is?" Sayuri hadn't heard of this.

"Yeah, I invited her. She's part of the Team, no?" Mizuki flashed a smirk right before a light popped in and out of existence not far from the crew.

"Hello hello!" Lizzie put on an idol-like pose and winked at her teammates. "Did I miss anything?"

"Mizuki breaks down doors for fun." Sayuri teased, followed by a light giggle.

"I do not!" Mizuki threw a friendly glare. "I wanted to eat lunch here, so I opened the door. The door was locked, so I broke the lock. It's as simple as that."

"Ehh?" Lizzie tilted her head. "Really?"

"Yeah. If something is blocking your way, and the answer is simple, I don't see why not just do it. If something stands in your way, cut it. Simple, right?"

Lizzie was surprised, but not in the same fashion the others were. She put on a soft smile while sitting down next to Mizuki. "Yup! I totally agree with you! I knew I made a great choice in picking you as my Number 1 Fan!"

Isemi chuckled. "I thought that choice would be up to Mizuki."

"I don't mind it." Mizuki admitted, even if feeling a bit awkward.

Sayuri poked Mizuki's cheek. "You sure you can be her Number 1 Fan? Do you think Lizzie wants a rebel as her fan?"

"I-I'm not a rebel!" It seemed like the teasing wouldn't be over for at least a while.

Lizzie looked around. "Did you not invite Mongami?"

"She's from a different school and her schedule wasn't compatible with ours." Mizuki pointed out.

Once again, Sayuri was surprised. "You invited Mongami?"

"Yeah."

"Why?"

"W-Well…" Mizuki looked away as if a little embarrassed.

Isemi let out a chuckle that grew more and more, which took them by surprise. It wasn't a creepy laugh or anything of the sort, it was just hard to get that much out of Isemi.

"What is it?" Edward wondered. Out of the whole Team, probably due to being from the same class, Edward was the least reluctant to speak with Isemi.

"I apologise, but Leader is a fun person to read."

"To read?" Mizuki perked up. "W-Why are you reading me?"

"You suddenly clammed up. I got curious." As casual as one could say. "You don't need to feel pressured about it, Leader. It's a nice gesture." He spoke, before taking a sip from his drink.

"Huh? Gesture?" Sayuri's confusion persisted.

"Go ahead, Leader."

"…" Mizuki was a bit shy about it but mustered the courage to speak up. "So, umm… how to put it? W-What do you guys think about this whole 'Foreigner' situation?" The teammates were slightly taken aback. "I want to help, but I don't think I can do anything. And it's… kinda frustrating."

A silence came over the rooftop. Their lack of words pretty much said the same for all of them.

'There's nothing we can do, is there?'

However, that silence didn't last long. "Though, we shouldn't beat ourselves over it." Once again, everybody turned to Isemi. "And if it makes you feel any better, a lot of people are probably feeling the same as us. Like the Rankers, and the Top Players."

"But does that make it right?" Lizzie wondered.

"I agree with Isemi." Sayuri pointed out. "If we can't do anything about it, then it might as well not be our responsibility. If we find a way, I don't see why not. But right now, we can't help."

"I suppose..." Mizuki looked down.

It was an annoying topic, to say the least. On the one hand, she wanted to help. And on the other… there wasn't much that could be done. Fighting Mary seemed fruitless, at least for the time being.

Lizzie bit her lower lip in a bit of distress. "H-Hey!" She suddenly got closer to Mizuki. "Have you guys noticed?"

"Hm? What?"

"My Number 1 fan is so cute! Trying her best to help others."

"D-Don't put me in the spotlight like that!" Mizuki yelled, glowing bright red. "You're the one that should be fighting for it!"

"I can't hog the spotlight all the time. Otherwise, there would be nothing to compare me to."

"W-Wait, did you just insult me?"

And eventually, conjoined laughter spread through the surrounding area.

Even if Mongami was missing, Mizuki liked this moment, spending time with her teammates. Except for Sayuri, since they had become friends before getting into the Class Card Game, she most likely would've never met Mongami, Lizzie, Isemi, and Edward if not for the Game to begin with.

That was part of the reason why she wanted to do something about Foreigner. It was the least she could do in return for getting her new friends.

Meanwhile…

Jinako's theory needed to be confirmed. As such, the two Rankers made their way to the hospital. One of many, actually. Whenever the theory failed, they would go to the next, willing to go to the ones in neighbouring cities.

However, that hadn't been necessary. On their third check, they came across what they were looking for.

"According to the front desk, it should be room 305." The two approached the fifth room of the third floor and opened the door.

They were somewhat in a hurry. More out of anticipation than urgency. When the front desk said that they did indeed have a patient by the name of 'Mary', it was like someone had glued rockets to their feet.

After all, how many girls named Mary lived in Japan?

Hakuno opened the room's door and almost froze on the spot.

"Hm? What's wrong, Hakuno?"

"Oh, sorry. I was… caught by surprise."

The two entered the room and Jinako immediately understood her boyfriend's reaction once her eyes looked at the lone patient.

The patient in question was in a coma, lying on the standard white bed, connected to a machine that essentially kept her alive. The hair colour was unmistakably the same as Foreigner's. However, a certain detail was rather disturbing.

The patient wasn't a little girl that they've been coming across from time in the last week or so, but rather a grown woman. Seemingly eighteen years old.

Jinako, with a small hint of fear, spoke up. "...Ha-Has she...?"

"I hope not, but..." He approached the bed, trying to find some sort of clue. "if Foreigner is 8 years old, and this person were to be in a coma for 10 years..." Hakuno didn't like the situation either.

Jinako approached the girl, looking over the patient's serene face in a state between life and death. "How is someone kept alive in a coma for 10 years?"

Hakuno quickly moved to the bottom of the bed and checked her full name. And with a quick search online, he found the answer. "Her father works here. As the head doctor."

"Oh..." Jinako looked over at the girl, pained. "...I can't believe she's Foreigner."

Hakuno's eyes narrowed. He was just as pained as Jinako. He looked over to the outside through the window with a question echoing in his head.

"How did she Install?"

"Alright, Teddy! We have a mission!" The little girl in the black dress entered the empty shop. Because the parallel dimension was deserted, but still contained all the objects in the one inhabited by people, nothing stopped her from entering a mall and take whatever she wanted. "Let's make the best school set ever!"

Plush bear in hand, she ran into the store.

Of course, the first thing she had to get was a backpack to carry all the things she would bring to school.

"Hmm..." she reached the shelf with all the backpacks available for Elementary School Students and looked around. All of them were black, something that somewhat bothered her. "They don't have any other colour?" She suddenly felt a twitch in her hand. She looked down at her companion and found his arm stretched up towards the very top of the shelf. Following the direction, her eyes spotted it. A bag like all the others, but red! "Ah! It's perfect! Thanks Teddy!" She placed the plush doll on her head and began to climb the shelf itself. "Eh? Why I'm not just flying? Teddy, you know that's cheating!" Her endeavour finished when her forehead reached the top shelf. Then, the fuzzy wuzzy teddy bear moved, stretching his arms and grabbing onto the bag before pulling it. With a wide smile, Mary leaned back. Unfortunately, due to being holding onto the shelves, she pulled them back as well, prompting the girl and the shelves to fall back. "Ah!" Impact. The fall threw Teddy and the red bag off her head, while Mary's body was buried beneath the shelf. Of course, it hurt nothing. As someone currently Installed, something like that couldn't possibly hurt her. She let out a little grunt from the surprise, but then laughed like the child she was. "I guess we could've done this from the start, Teddy." She lifted the shelf without effort and placed it back up. Afterwards though, she looked over at all of the knocked-over bags and thought to herself. "...No one will get angry if I leave them here, right?" She excused herself, quickly grabbing her companion and the sole red bag, fleeing the section as nothing had ever happened. "Teddy, friends keep secrets! So tell no one!"

The hunt continued without a problem.

A pencil case, pens of many colours, a mechanical pencil, eraser, two notebooks, one with lined pages and the other with squared ones for math, and two helping tables, one for Hiragana and one for Katakana. She had a Japanese Father and an American Mother, so she could speak both Japanese and English without an issue. However, the Foreigner was first raised in America, meaning that she learned the English Alphabet very early on, so she had some difficulties with Hiragana and Katakana. And she was a disgrace at Kanji.

"Am I missing anything, Teddy? Hmm... I don't think so, no."

The little girl was on her way out until she crossed the frozen food section. And caught in the corner of her eye was, inside one of the fridge-like coolers, small individual boxes with large ice cream cones with limited-edition flavours. The shape was beyond elaborate.

Mary stepped back and turned to them, with drool building inside her mouth at the appearance of the treat.

She looked to the right, looked to the left, and then back at the ice creams, swallowing dry air in anticipation.

"...Teddy, if you don't tell anyone, I'll get one for you too." She felt a twitch in her arm. A definitive 'yes'. With a nod of bravery, the girl opened the cooler, pulled two of the boxes, and quickly sprinted away, leaving behind a trail of smoke and dust.

The sun was close to setting, and the little girl had found a park bench with an overview of the green park. With her friend sat by her side, she opened one of the boxes, and her eyes shined with enchantment. The ice cream looked just like the image on the box, with multiple layers and decorations.

Mary quickly gave one to her friend, who held it in his handless arms somehow, and the girl took the second one, ready to eat it. It wasn't completely frozen, but still steady, thanks to the fact that it had been some time since she removed it from the cooler.

First a lick, then a small bite. "Aaaahh... it's really good! Have you tasted it, Teddy?" She turned to her friend and noticed the entire ice cream was gone, only the cone remaining, and the face of the plush doll covered in the food. "AHH! Teddy, you already ate the whole thing?!"

If the bear could blush, his cheeks would be bright red.

"Well, since you already ate yours, I'm not sharing mine, and taste it for a loooong time!" The smugness was tangible.

Mary couldn't stop beaming with happiness. It had been a wonderful day, in her eyes. She had gathered everything she needed to go to school, had fun with her faithful companion, and was eating a delicious ice cream.

"I can't wait for tomorrow! My great return to school!" The Teddy Bear inched closer. "I already said I'm not sharing mine with you!"

Mizuki ended up inviting her team to spend time together at her place, to hang out and talk about anything they'd like to. While she only had the intention of spending time with her friends, it was a way to think about anything else besides wanting to help the situation with Foreigner and not being able to.

"Is Mongami going to join us?" Edward wondered, since the Archer of the Team was the only one missing.

"She's just taking care of something first, apparently." Mizuki pointed out, as she tried to come up with anything that would entertain her friends. The six of them were making themselves comfortable in the living room. The two boys sat on the floor, in front of the coffee table, while Mizuki and Lizzie sat on the couch and Sayuri on the desk chair.

"Leader and Sayuri are childhood friends?" Edward wondered, glancing at each girl, one at a time.

"More or less." Sayuri answered, making the red-eyed friend tilt her head.

"Eh? Didn't we meet in the fifth grade?"

"Yes, but it seems we knew each other already." That just left everyone even more confused. "I was cleaning my house the other day and found one of my mom's photo albums." Sayuri pulled out her phone and opened the photos app, showing the photos she took of the album. She handed it to the others, the first being Edward.

He glanced at the screen and immediately let out surprise. "These are you and Leader?!"

Isemi closed in, curious. The photo was of two toddlers playing in a sandbox. One had a pink dress, light blonde hair, and eyes that matched the clothing, with small pigtails tied by ribbons. The other had red eyes, wavy brown hair down to her rear, and a blue dress that had the same design as the other.

Mizuki quickly took the phone and stared at the picture with a red face. She honestly had forgotten how she looked like as a toddler, and part of her was embarrassed. Finally, Lizzie took a turn.

"Oh my god, you two were so kyuuuute!" The idol couldn't help but squeal, one hand over the cheek while the other held the phone.

Mizuki took it again and swiped to the left, going to the next photo. It was more pictures of the two playing in a park, like riding swings or going down the slide. In one of them, little Mizuki was crying because the sandcastle Sayuri and her made had collapsed, and Sayuri was on the verge of tears as well.

While Mizuki was genuinely embarrassed, part of her couldn't help but think that both she and Sayuri were cute kids back in the day.

"Why did you take so long to show these?!"

"I had to come to terms with it..." Sayuri looked away, blushing as well. Explanation given.

"But were your mothers friends or something of the sort?" Isemi wondered while Lizzie kept looking through the photos, blushing wildly as hearts emerged from her body. She found babies and toddlers adorable, especially in pictures.

"I... don't know." Sayuri wasn't sure of how the connections linked together. She was far too focused on the photos to think about it.

"We can always call my mom." Mizuki pointed out, pulling out her phone. She turned to her three teammates and placed a finger in front of her lips with a 'Shhh' while she dialled her mother. Of course, the three nodded, Lizzie still focused on the photos and giving herself mini heart attacks from the sheer cuteness.

Putting it on speakers, Mizuki placed down her phone.

'Hello? Mizuki?'

"Hi mom."

'It's been so long!'

"We spoke yesterday..."

'Yes, but I haven't SEEN you in so long...'

"I-I guess..." Mizuki had been somewhat busy with the Game that it stole away the time she could've used to just sit down and video call her parents. "Anyway, I'm here with Sayuri."

"Hello."

'Oh, hello Sayuri! How've you been?'

"Just fine. I should be compensated monetarily for taking care of Mizuki here, though."

"You're rich!" Mizuki shrieked, making her mother laugh. She quickly composed herself with a cough. "A-Anyway... mom, Sayuri found a photo album with pictures of both of us as toddlers. I thought we only met in fifth grade."

'Oh, no, you two met when you were just babies.'

The two looked at each other with the same look of 'Really?' And turned to the phone on the table again.

"You and Sayuri's mother are close friends?"

'Of course we are.'

Sayuri raised an eyebrow. "How are you two friends?"

'We used to date.'

And then, silence instilled the area. Everyone's brains stopped for a few seconds until all five of them made the exact same question.

"WHAT!?"

Isemi, Edward, and Lizzie panicked since they noticed they spoke as well.

'Hmm? That's weird, it sounded like more than two people were speaking.'

"I-It was the phone!" Mizuki leaned in, wide-eyed, with a hint of panic and shock. "You and Sayuri's mom used to be girlfriends?! You let your daughter play with the baby of your high school ex?!"

'High school? We dated for years! In fact, we only broke up right before meeting our future husbands.'

"Oh god..." Sayuri facepalmed, still refusing to believe the situation. "My mom kissed another girl? Why, why, why, why, why…" The problem wasn't the fact two girls kissed. Mizuki and Sayuri were more focused on the fact that, well, it was THEIR mothers.

'But don't misunderstand! We love our husbands very, very much. We remained as good friends after we decided to break up. It's only natural we got together for play dates when the two of you were born.'

Mizuki still couldn't believe the information.

'I stayed in the city while Sayuri's family moved for a while. But once they came back, we immediately put you two in the same school. And we did pull some strings to have you in the same class as well.'

"But how come none of you ever told us?!" Sayuri was trying to wrap her head around the whole situation.

'We agreed it would be a bit of a shock. But you're older now, so, there's no need to hide it. I have to go now. Oh, and Sayuri?'

It broke her trance. "Hm?"

'Kissing is the least of your problems. Stay well!'

Beep. Beep. Beep.

The two girls looked at one another with the same face of disbelief.

Isemi was wide-eyed, also processing the information of what he had just witnessed.

Edward was on the verge of fainting from the nervousness of possibly being found out, letting out the greatest sigh of relief someone could ever hold.

Lizzie was just as shocked as anyone else but broke the ice when she realized something. "…Does this make them sisters?"

"NO!" Mizuki and Sayuri yelled in unison, red like tomatoes, making the idol jump back.

Some time passed, and everybody was trying to think of ways to not think about the phone call. Only Mizuki and Sayuri were truly affected by it, but the other three didn't want to remind them of such.

Lizzie tried to find an excuse to change Mizuki's line of thought, while the boys took care of Sayuri.

"Hmm…" Lizzie took one of Mizuki's hands.

"Eh?"

"Let me see…" She raised Mizuki's hand and rubbed her fingers lightly with her own, using both hands. "Ehhh… Your hands are really soft."

"T-Thanks…" Mizuki was somewhat taken aback. "I use hand lotion."

"Really? Must be a good one. Every time I try one out, it doesn't work."

"Hm? Are you sure?" Mizuki reversed the situation and now tried to feel Lizzie's skin on her hands. "Your hands are pretty soft too."

"You think so? Hmm…"

It seems the boys didn't need to do anything. The three began whispering among themselves.

"They seem to be getting pretty close."

"You think so?"

"They're just a few steps away from holding hands." Sayuri pointed out, with a little snicker.

"Aren't you afraid of getting demoted from 'best friend' to just 'friend'?"

"Please, our moms used to date. Nothing will ever change that." Sayuri seemed to have learned how to have fun with the previous situation.

DING DONG

"Hmm?" Mizuki let go of Lizzie's hands. "It's probably Mongami." And she was right on the money. Opening the door revealed the Team's Archer. However, she brought something they weren't expecting.

"Hey there! Who wants pizza?" She carried in her hands three pizza boxes and two smaller ones on top of the stack.

Mizuki was confused. She asked a question while shutting the door. "You brought food? You didn't need to."

"Don't worry about it!" Mongami had a pretty wide grin while making her way to the coffee table. She placed the pizzas on top of it and placed her hands over her hips. "Heh! Dinner's on me!"

"Wow… thank you." Edward could smell the hot scent the pizzas gave off through the boxes, even if just slightly. "We should at least pay you back a bit, no? How much was it?"

"Hm? Oh, it was free, don't worry!"

Sayuri raised an eyebrow. "Free?"

Isemi was curious. "What kinds are they?"

"No idea!"

"…" Sayuri suddenly put the pieces together. "M-Mongami, did you steal these?!"

"Well, when you put it like that, you make it sound like it's a bad thing or something."

Isemi and Edward froze in place. Lizzie let out a shriek. "W-Why did you steal them?!"

"It's a long story. But if you want a summary: the pizza guy annoyed me!"

Mizuki approached the girl with long, black hair. "Mongami, you can't just steal pizza!"

"I can. I shouldn't, but I just showed I can." She sat down in between Isemi and Edward. "Come on guys, let's dig in!"

"Mongami!" Mizuki wasn't all that happy. In fact, she was quite worried. "You can't steal pizza and then just eat it with us! What if you were followed?! You're making us accomplices! What about the consequences?"

"…" Mongami looked up at Mizuki with a semi-blank expression before reaching for one of the smaller boxes and handing it to the standing Mizuki. "I also stole Garlic Bread."

"You are forgiven." The box vanished from Mongami's hands.

"W-What the-?!" Sayuri couldn't believe it. "Mizuki! She stole food!"

"As Team Leader, I declare Mongami forgiven and that is final!" The strength behind the claim was of ultimate power. "Is that one also Garlic Bread?"

"Yup."

"Good." With a serious face, Mizuki took the other small box into her hands and sat back down on the couch.

"…" Lizzie blinked twice. "Y-You know, I think I'll just dig in…"

"That's the spirit!" Mongami grinned again before opening the boxes.

The teens began the meal, even if somewhat reluctant. The smell of freshly cooked pizza made stomachs hungry, prompting gluttony to take over.

"Come on guys, don't worry! Nobody followed me. And even if they did, I would just lie and say you guys didn't know." Mongami took one of the slices.

"…" Sayuri narrowed her eyes and let out a sigh. She reached over to take a slice as well. Everybody followed suit, except for Mizuki, who munched down on the garlic bread. "Do you steal food often?"

"Hmm, define often."

Isemi intervened. "Three times a week."

"Nah. Once a week, if I even do so."

"Why?" Edward wondered. "I-If it's because of money issues, I'm sure we can help."

"It's not that. Though, admittedly, it does save me some money." Mongami bit down a piece and swallowed it. "Half the time is out of spite. The other half is cravings at the wrong time." She admitted in a chuckle.

"This feels wrong…" Sayuri admitted.

"It's pretty good though."

"…I can't deny that, no." And she proceeded. "But seriously, you should stop."

"I'll consider it."

"Hey!"

"I'm being serious!" Mongami countered. "I live alone, so it's not like anyone has a problem. But if it bothers you guys, sure. But you gotta treat me to fast food when I want."

"Deal." Sayuri let this slide. For now, at least.

Isemi couldn't help but chuckle. "I sure joined an odd Team."

"Tell me about it." Edward shared the same feelings.

The four girls turned at once. "You two got a problem with that?" Sayuri, Mongami, and Lizzie asked in perfect unison.

Mizuki would've as well, but… "Ufff vot a voflem if fat?" Please don't talk with food in your mouth.

Isemi and Edward glanced at each other and both smirked. "Course not."

"This is much better than a boring Team."

Before either girl could respond, the doorbell rang yet again.

DING DONG

"Hm?" Mizuki turned to the door. GULP! "I'm not expecting anyone else though."

"Ah, it must be them!" Sayuri moved towards the door.

"Them?"

"See, Mizuki was so depressed about the Foreigner situation that I decided to invite a couple more people."

Mizuki couldn't help but feel suspicious. "Who?" She couldn't think of anyone that would fit the gathering.

"A possible Assassin and Berserker for our Team."

"R-Really?!" Mizuki was taken aback.

Sayuri confirmed if it was the people she had invited. Mizuki joined her and opened the door. Two people passed through.

"Excuse us."

"Good evening!"

The first was a pretty tall boy, probably a year or two older than anyone else in the Team. His hair was dirty blond, mixing golden yellow with bright brown. His eyes were bright blue, looking like the sky on a sunny day. Clothes-wise, he wore a white t-shirt underneath and a yellow tracksuit. He looked like he was ready to take on any physical challenge. To finish off, he wore a thin, golden necklace around his neck.

The girl, however, was much shorter and pretty young-looking. It was hard to tell if she was already a teenager or not, but from the slimness of her body, it appeared so. Her wide eyes were of a deep purple, and her hair was shining silver, with a cute haircut and a long, flowing, loose ponytail that reached her waist, made at the base of her neck. Her clothes, a strangely professional-looking uniform similar to a suit, with a tie and everything.

Mizuki and Sayuri blinked, especially because of the young girl. Mizuki thought part of the shock Mary instilled on Players was the lack of young Players.

"Hello. I'm Shoutarou, and this here is Karen."

"Nice to meet you." She bowed with the cutest smile.

"N-Nice to meet you too." Mizuki quickly bowed as well. "Do you want to join us? We have more food than predicted."

"If you don't mind." Karen and Shoutarou entered the house and joined the rest of the team, greeting them and greeting them back. Mizuki followed them after closing the door, and introduced them to the others, saying they were Players as well as each took a slice.

"Hm? This little kid is a Player?" Mongami wondered, somewhat surprised.

"Told yah!" Karen gave a grin to Shoutarou.

"Well, you were doing it on purpose, of course they thought that."

"Huh?" Mongami felt confused. "What are you talking about?"

In response, Karen pulled out a wallet from her pocket and took out the ID Card, presenting it to Mongami as she kept munching on the pizza slice. "Huh? What are you…?" She read the date of birth and did quick Math. Mongami dropped the slice on her plate, eyes wide. "Y-Y-Y-Y-You're…!"

Sayuri, confused, moved in and took a look at the card. And quickly had a similar, but more direct approach to the news.

"YOU'RE 22?!"

"Yup!" The girl answered with a smile that could trick anyone.

Edward spat out the soda he was drinking. "WHAT?!"

"Oh, and I'm dating her." Shoutarou informed, casually, placing a hand on top of the short woman's head, patting it.

Everybody was shocked by the revelations, even more than when Mongami stole the pizzas.

"By the way you look… I guess you want an explanation?" Karen guessed, with a child-like giggle following.
