Chapter 54 Operation Beifong
Its been a couple weeks since Korra finally managed to move on from her worst memory 4 years ago and since the group found out Zeus was having Spirit vines harvested for Kuvira's super weapon.
That alone made the rest of the world on edge since that kind of power could annihilate entire armies alone if properly used.
Right now Sean and Korra were in their home before Sean woke up and found Korra in a blue nightgown making him smile softly as he kissed her making her smile as she woke up before finding Lysandra in her arms making her smile as she kissed her making her yawn in her sleep before they found the girls in bed with them.
"Thankfully this is one big bed or we'd never be able to sleep with so little room." Korra said.
"Completely worth it." Sean said making her giggle as the girls woke up.
Soon the two were at Baldur's office.
"I certainly hope you two have something that can help us.." Baldur said looking at Varrick and Asami before the later pulled out some blue prints.
"It's a flying Mecha suit. Asami got the idea from watching dragonfly-humingbirds. You can take off straight up, fly in any direction." Varrick said.
"Ok that sounds good and all but what about those spirit weapons?" Freya asked.
"Freya You know we can't do that. You saw how the vines reacted when Zeus started harvesting them in the swamp." Korra said.
"Yes I suppose that is indeed true. Still that cannon is gonna put us at a disadvantage." Freya said.
"If they have it operational at this very moment which I very much doubt. Who knows how long it might take to complete that thing." Reznov said.
"Which gives us time to gather our forces." Tenzin said.
"What about the spirits?" Korra asked.
"Thats not gonna happen at all. They don't get involved in human affairs because it has nothing to do with them. Add to the fact Zeus " Sean said.
"I'm afraid he's correct." Mimir said.
Soon enough everyone left before Sean and Korra were back on Airtemple island and saw Opal, Lin and Bolin getting supplies on Opal's bison Juicy. (Who's idea was this?)
"Ok what are you guys up to?" Sean asked.
"We're going to save my family from Kuvira and the others." Opal said making him frown.
"Then I'm coming with. If the others are there you'll need me to fight against them. I'm immune now from Amon and Tarrlok's blood bending since I unlocked the powers of a blood god" Sean said.
"Please be careful if you do fight them." Korra said kissing him.
"I beat them before I'll beat them again." Sean said before getting on as they took off.
Later
Soon the four arrived outside of Zaofu.
"Home sweet home." Opal said before she noticed the domes of the city were taken off.
"They stripped the domes off." Lin said.
"The hell did they do that for?" Sean asked.
"Probably needs them for something." Lin said before taking a close look through a scope. "They got a whole battalion of troops stationed there. There's no way we'll be able to spot anything useful from here. We'll have to go in for a closer look." Lin said.
"I wouldn't bother if I were you."
Sean blinked before turning seeing Hephaestus along with Toph behind them.
"Hephaestus." Sean said surprised.
"Hello, Sean. I see you're doing better than the last time I saw you last year." Hephaestus said making him grin.
"Uh, Hey, Chief." Lin said surprised.
"Hey, Chief." Toph said.
"Grandma Toph!" Opal said hugging her making her smile.
"You were only up to my waist the last time we were together." Toph said.
"Oh, Man! Oh, I can't!" Bolin tried to say had Sean not spin kicked him into a tree. "OW!" Bolin yelled in pain.
"You act like a fan girl and I'm gonna kick your ass all the way to Athens and backl!" Sean said annoyed.
"What you have to pee or something?" Toph asked making Opal giggle.
"No he's a big fan of yours." Sean said.
"Oh that crap. Whats up with him?" Toph asked.
"He's an actor." Lin said making her snort. "So you both already checked the city for Su?" Lin asked.
"How'd you even know she was captured?" Sean asked.
"We checked through the vines of course. Thats how we knew Zeus was up to something and left before he could find us." Hephaestus said.
"By the time we got here, they were already gone. I snooped around town and heard that they were taken away to some nearby prison camp." Toph said making Opal frown.
"Where would that be?" Opal asked Bolin who looked uncomfortable.
"SPEAK!" Sean roared in his ear making him yell in shock making Sean chuckle. "Oh I love doing that." Sean said.
"Theres a factory and reeducation facility not too far away." Bolin said.
"And you know this because?" Hephaestus asked.
"Bolin used to work for Kuvira." Opal said.
"Man he's always done some real dumb bullshit since I've first known him for 6 years. First he worked for the Triple threats because he needed money for the Pro bending tournament so he, Mako and Korra could play in the finals. Then he dated Eska who treated him like complete shit who is now back again regrettably. And now this." Sean said grinning making Toph raise an eyebrow.
"Wow and I thought Soka was an idiot when we were kids" Toph said making Sean and Mimir chuckle in amusement before they went to Juicy.
"Grandma, this is juicy." Opal said.
"And I thought Appa was smelly. Why would you choose this leaky nasty thing?" Opal asked.
"You don't choose your Bison. He chooses you. And once he chooses you, you can't change. Believe me. I checked." Opal said. "And I even begged Sean to let me have Dojo when he was recovering." Opal said.
"Yeah that wasn't happening." Sean said chuckling.
Later
Juicy flew the group to the prison camp.
"So when was the last time you two even saw each other?" Bolin asked.
"Little while now. Couple of years." Toph said.
"Try 20." Lin said.
"Fucking hell Lin. I can understand not seeing Suyin for 30 years but fuck." Sean said.
"Issues in families cause this a large number of the time." Hephaestus said.
"Aye." Mimir said.
"Ah, time flies when you get to be my age." Toph said.
"Whatever." Sean said shrugging.
"I'm surprised Lin came to save Su. I thought you guys didn't get along." Toph said.
"They sorted out their differences 4 years by beating each other up." Sean said making her snort.
"I honestly can't say I'm surprised. I'm glad to see we finally put this all behind us." Toph said.
"Makes me wonder about any issues they have." Sean said to Hephaestus who chuckled.
"I'm blind not deaf pussy boy." Toph said making his eyes twitch.
"Fuck you ya old bat." Sean said making her chuckle.
"I'll take that as a compliment." Toph said.
"I see where Lin gets her manners from." Sean said making her smirk. "You know she tried to have me killed by the law." Sean said making her frown.
"Drop it." Lin said.
"I still haven't gotten an apology by the way." Sean said grinning.
"Do I look like I give those?" Lin asked.
"Nope." Mimir said.
Soon they landed.
"Okay, there's the factory." Bolin said.
They snuck into the factory before Toph Metal bended a way in just as some of Zeus's minions walked by
"Holy shit." Sean said seeing the massive weapon Zeus wanted.
"What in the hell is that?" Toph asked.
"Thats the super weapon Zeus wants. Baatar Jr and Zhu-Li work fast." Sean said.
"I'm still pissed my grandson is involved in this." Toph said disappointed before stomping her foot down. "I think I know where they are. Feel that Cavern a few stories down? It seems empty, but it's guarded by an awful lot of Mech." Toph said to Lin who stomps her foot down.
"Right. Why would you need soldiers guarding an empty cavern?" Lin asked.
"Easy. Suyin and her family are suspended in the air to prevent them from using their bending. Kuvira's idea no doubt. I'm surprised Amon hasn't taken their bending like he usually does." Sean said.
That when the doors opened up and Kuvira walked in with Amon and Unalaq.
"Hmm." Sean said glaring at Unalaq
"I didn't expect you until tomorrow." Baatar said.
"I just wanted to check in to make sure everything was on track. It looks wonderful. Zeus will be impressed." Kuvira said.
"Just so long as it kills Kruger I'm fine with it." Unalaq said making Sean glare grabbing his axe
"Don't even think about it." Toph said making him stop.
"We've had some minor malfunctions, but we should be ready for the test tomorrow." Baatar said making Amon look at Zhu-Li.
"You've been working on this the entire time, Zhu-Li. What do you think the problem is?" Amon asked.
"It's a very complex machine. not only that but using spirit vines has never been tested before until now. That alone is gonna make us run into some errors." Zhu-Li said.
"But you're doing everything you can to fix those, correct?" Kuvira asked.
"Of course." Zhu-Li said.
"She's lying." Toph said.
"Hmm?" Sean said.
"If I had to guess she's trying to sabotage the weapon so Zeus can't get his hands on it." Mimir said.
"I knew it." Bolin said.
"Be quiet you idiot." Lin said making him shrink.
"Tell the troops and workers to attend tomorrow's demonstration. They should all see what we have created. Even Kruger won't be able to stop us this time around." Amon said.
Sean and the others left after that or risk getting caught.
They arrived back where Juicy was.
"We should be thinking of a way to take out Kuvira and the others while we have the chance." Opal said.
"Or at least destroy the cannon. If Zeus takes that to Republic city, it could obliterate everything." Bolin said.
"No. We came here to get Suyin and her family out of harms way not to fight them. Besides even if we destroyed that thing it wouldn't mean the war would be prevented. Zeus has every intention of invading Republic City to get to me. As do the others. And even then they'll just rebuild it somewhere else. No we get Suyin and her family out of here and then head back to Republic City to prepare." Sean said.
"HMPH! I guess your more than muscle in you after all." Toph said making his eyes twitch.
"Shut up." Sean said.
Meanwhile
Korra laughed as she used airbending on Lysrandra making her laugh like crazy as she flew in the air before Korra caught her.
"You are just so brave. Yes you are." Korra said rubbing her nose against her's making Lysandra laugh more before she yawned making Korra smile as she held her close.
"You really are mother material you know that?" Asami said walking to her.
"It's a gift. I'll be making sure though I love them all equally and not play favorites like Aang did to his kids. Still can't believe he did that." Korra said having heard the stories from Kya and Bumi.
"To be fair he was an old Air Nomad so the idea of raising kids wasn't something he knew." Asami said.
"Yeah I guess. Thankfully I know differently." Korra said as Lysandra fell asleep in her arms making her smile as she kissed her forehead.
"Can I?" Asami asked making her smile as she handed her to Asami making her smile as she held the sleeping infant in her arms.
"You and Mako thinking about having one?" Korra asked.
"Maybe...Once all this is over." Asami said before Korra noticed the look in her eyes.
"What is it?" Korra asked making her sigh.
"For the last year I've been visiting my father. We've finally started to reconnect again. But I keep thinking about all the terrible things he's done to you and everyone else because of Amon." Asami said.
"I know what he did was terrible but after I lost Sean I think I finally understand why he did what he did. Loss effects us all in a lot of ways. He just was so angry at every bender thinking they were all the same." Korra said.
"I know but I just can't stop thinking of all the people he hurt. Including you when Amon took your bending." Asami said.
"But I got it back though and Learned how to restore everyone else's minus the criminals. And it helped me and Sean become a couple which later led to this." Korra said touching Lysandra's head who snored softly.
"I know...But how do you completely forgive someone like that?" Asami asked.
"Asami...Sean's father did things even worse than Hiroshi did. And everyone forgave him for what he did. Sean would tell you to give him another chance. He's all you got left and coming from someone who's lost everyone from his old family...He knows more than anyone how important family is." Korra said as Lysandra yawned in Asami's arms making her smile softly.
"Yeah." Asami said.
Next Day
Sean, Lin, Toph, Hephaestus and Bolin were at the factory waiting for Opal to give them the signal to begin.
"The test is about to start. Looks like their about to blow up that old abandoned town." Opal said on the radio.
"Gives us plenty of time." Sean said as they jumped down a hole.
Toph made a door seeing her youngest daughter's family suspended off the ground.
"Not bad." Sean said.
"The guards are on the other side of that door. We'll have to be quiet." Toph said as Sean made chirping sound getting Suyin's attention
"Are you in need of rescue?" Sean asked amused waving making her chuckle. "I can get over there with no problem at all." Sean said.
"Good." Lin said as Sean flew over to the prison making it shake a little before Sean created a hole
"Ok who who wants to fly?" Sean asked before grabbing Wei and threw him to the others where Bolin caught him.
Meanwhile
"Is the weapon ready?" Unalaq asked.
"Yes." Baatar said before he started powering it up before alarms went off. "Oh for the love of! I don't believe this!" Baatar yelled annoyed before seeing what the problem was. "Wait the distributor pin is gone. Thats not possible I made sure I locked it in last night." Baatar said.
"And this could cause the entire weapon to fail?" Amon asked.
"No it could cause it to explode." Baatar said making Kuvira narrow her eyes before making metal blades and aimed one at Zhu-Li making her gasp in shock.
"What do you know about this?" Kuvira asked.
"Nothing." Zhu-Li said before the pin floated out of her uniform making her widen her yes.
"Swearing your absolute loyalty my revived ass. You just wanted to sabotage me" Kuvira said glaring at her.
"You were a monster before you were killed...Your nothing but a demon now. Especially working with them and Zeus." Zhu-Li said making her growl before aiming her blade at her neck.
"That is gonna cost you! You can have a hands on view of the weapon you created up close and personal." Kuvira said as Ghazan dragged her away.
Opal saw all this and frowned.
Meanwhile
"Old man will you just move?" Sean asked as Baatar Senior wouldn't let go.
"No...Just go...I'll be fine." Baatar Senior said.
"Ok you're just pissing me off now." Sean said wrapping his chain around his legs before throwing him.
"AHHHHHH!" Baatar Senior yelled.
"What the fuck do you see in him if you're a warrior and he's not?" Sean asked Suyin who shrugged with a smile before the Guards came out only for Sean to pull out the staff of Ra and blasted them. "TIME TO GO!" Sean yelled as they flew to the others.
Heading topside Opal landed in front of them before blowing a silent whistle to signal Juicy.
"Mom! Dad!" Opal said hugging them. "Thank you." Opal said to Bolin making him smile.
"We got what we came for. Let's get out of here." Lin said.
"Kuvira and the others caught Zhu-Li and threw her in the town." Opal said.
"Why?" Suyin asked.
"Because she was sabotaging the weapon." Opal said.
"Fuck! Bolin take Opal and go save her. We're gonna try and take out Kuvira and the others to throw a wrench in Zeus's plans." Sean said.
"I'm not risking my butt to fight Kuvira and her revived buddies." Toph said.
"Then stay here and out of the fucking way." Sean said rushing off.
Kuvira smirked as Baatar was about to test his weapon for real this time. However when he used a scope to look at the town he widened his eyes seeing his sister along with Bolin.
"Opal? No. We have to stop the test!" Baatar said.
"And why would we do that?" Amon asked.
"My sister is out there." Baatar said.
"Acceptable losses." Unalaq said making his eyes widen only for the weapon to tilt.
"What just..." Kuvira tried to say before a chain wrapped around her before swinging her around making her growl before freeing herself before seeing Sean who glared at her.
"Hello Kuvira." Sean said before Unalaq tried to attack him but Sean dodged with ease.
"I am going to enjoy this." Unalaq said.
"Please. You were no match for me even when fused with Vaatu. Your never going to be a threat to me." Sean said before creating a lava hand and rushed at him.
Lin and her sister fought off what remained of Kuvira's army before monsters came out of the ground
"Where did these things come from?" Suyin asked.
"From Zeus since he's been completely corrupted. Who do you think brought them back from the dead?" Lin asked making her frown.
Sean continued to fight against both Unalaq and Kuvira before Amon jumped down and used his blood bending on him.
"I'll finish what I should have 6 years ago." Amon said before Sean easily walked towards him shocking him. "What?" Amon asked in shock.
"That no longer works on me." Sean said before charging at him and punched him away hard making him groan before Zaheer and P'li attacked him but he easily dodged.
"I killed you once! I'll do it again!" Zaheer yelled airbending him but he dodged easily before slamming his foot down creating a large crater making Kuvira and her army fall before Toph earth bended the rest away before they got on Juicy.
"You give metal benders a bad name!" Toph said pointing at Kuvira making her Glare as they flew away.
Meanwhile
Korra laughed as the girls played using water bending as she held Lysrandra in her arms who babbled making her smile.
Thats when Calliope froze both her sisters in place.
"I WIN!" Calliope yelled in victory making Korra laugh.
"Honey thats not exactly fair." Korra said before Juicy flew to them and landed.
"Daddy!" Calliope yelled running to him as he got off and picked her up.
"Hey sweetie." Sean said kissing her.
"Uh is anyone gonna let us go?" Annabeth asked making Korra laugh before unfreezing them before they rushed to their father and picked them up.
"You got them all back home safe." Korra said seeing Suyin and her family.
"Along with Zhu Li. Turns out she was actually trying to sabotage the weapon from the beginning. I'm impressed." Sean said holding Korra close who smiled.
"I'm just glad you home safe." Korra said kissing him.
"I hate to break this good moment up but I have some bad news." Zhu Li said getting their attention.
"What is It?" Sean asked.
"Kuvira and the others are going to attack in two weeks." Zhu Li said making the parents hold their children close at that.
Authors Note: And with that the Beifong family is safe again. But now they have to worry about the final battle in 2 weeks. Believe me this battle will make my last two final battles look like child's play. Anyway I'm gonna try to get the final battle done tomorrow but I have to visit my grandfather who's in the hospital since he's in so much pain because of the two cancers he's got so I might not be able to update till Tuesday. Sora dude for the love of god. Just book mark the stories and write a note on your computer screen to remember to look them up since I plan to do a massive update.
