Let's start with the story, shall we?*
Chapter 43
At School…
"Let me get this straight…" Aizawa breathed, his one eye twitching as he sat on a large green coloured couch. Opposite of him sat the twins, each sitting on a small wooden chair. One had shoulders slumped in defeat while the other was filled with anger.
"You two were involved in a Quirk incident after trying to help a little girl get home. Now, you're both residing in each other's body until it wears off," Aizawa's voice was strained in irritation and annoyance.
"Yes," Mizuki answered, her dreadful expression on her brother's face unsettling. "We talked to her mother and she said that it's very unstable. It can last one hour or even 24 hours. There's no way to reverse it since she's still too young to control it…"
"That stupid brat! She could at least try to reverse it! It's all because you wanted to help her!" Katsuki angrily yelled at his sister, the scenery less unsettling. "Now I'm stuck like…like…like this!" He gestured towards his feminine body.
A vein popped out from underneath her skin. "Listen here, Shit for brains… If you hadn't scared the girl to death then this would've never happened! It's not my fault you have a face that make little kids cry!" Mizuki snapped back at her brother.
Aizawa stared at the two, a headache forming at a drastic pace. Mizuki sat in her brother's body, legs as closed as possible while Katsuki didn't realize that he was indeed wearing a skirt. He didn't even want to start to think about how they managed to change clothing.
"Screw you! What the hell is with your vision anyway?! Why are you as blind as a mole?! I thought you didn't need your reading glasses!" Katsuki yelled at his sister and Mizuki gritted her teeth as she seethed at him.
"I'm not blind! It only because I put too much strain on my eyes!" She snapped and then gave him a menacing smirk. "Are you too weak to handle a bit of blurry vision? Huh? I thought that nothing would be able to get down the future number one hero."
"You little-!"
"That's enough." His eyes flashed red and had both of them shut their mouths. They sat quietly in front of him, Mizuki's hands on her legs while Katsuki had his arms crossed over his chest. He flushed at the feeling and growled as he let his arms fall to his sides.
Having breasts was so damn uncomfortable! Not only were they heavy but they were in the way. He didn't know how to move or how to even cross his arms normally. They were everywhere! How did Mizuki live like this, not even mentioning fighting?
"This is a mess." Aizawa rubbed the back of his head with a sigh. "We can't do anything about it now. You're going to have to wait it out until the effects of the Quirk wears off," he said, their eyes widening. They were about to retort, but his eyes flashed once again, making them stay quiet.
"Classes will continued normal, as will you. Since we don't know the details about this Quirk, you're not to leave each other's side until you switch back. Bear with it," Aizawa told them, Mizuki nodding and Katsuki growling.
"Yes, sir."
"You're shitting me! I have to stay like this for who knows how long?!" Katsuki shot up, his chair falling behind him as a result. "I can't-!" The male's body self-destructed from his angry outburst, his sentence cut short.
Mizuki face palmed. "I told you that you can't rile yourself up like that. Do you want to expose my body with your tantrum explosions?" Mizuki told the male and he gritted his teeth, sweat trailing down the side of his face.
What was with her Quirk just firing off like it was nothing? Every time he was yelling or freaking out, it exploded! He didn't have an ounce of control! It scared the shit out of him when it happened at first.
"It's not my fault! Your-!" This time, he was overcome with a wave of nausea and disorientation. His hand shot towards his mouth his hand shooting out for anything stable. He managed to grab a shoulder as everything spun around him.
"You didn't take the pills I told you to take, did you?" Mizuki's voice already sounded like his own, it was worse when she made it even lower. He gave her a weak look, face pale from the vertigo and crimson eyes trembling.
"W-What's wrong w-with your body?"
"Nothing! You're too weak to handle it! You're going to drink the medicine right now!" Mizuki argued with the male, pulling her backpack closer. Katsuki didn't have the strength or the tolerance for the vertigo to disagree.
"Mizuki, you still have dizzy spells?" Aizawa's voice reached her ear as she handed her brother a water bottle and a vial of pills. He was barely able to open the lid and weakly took a sip of the water to drink off the medication.
Mizuki paled at the intense expression she received, a trail of sweat falling down the side of her face. "I-It's really n-nothing! T-The medication p-prescribed b-by Recovery Girl does wonders! It doesn't impair my normal a-activities! I promise!" She countered and flinched when his brows twitched.
"And the blurry eye sight?"
Mizuki blinked. "Oh, I've had that problem since a few years back. My father already has bad eyesight so it was natural that I also have faster deterioration on my vision. I have glasses but I prefer not to wear them," she said and received a look from the two.
"What? I don't like it if people see me with my glasses! I was going to talk to my parents for contact lenses but…" Mizuki trailed off and then let her head fall onto her chest. With everything that went off, she completely forgot.
Aizawa let out a sigh, and briefly closed his eyes. "Then, I leave Bakugou in your care. You need to keep him under control until he can show some control over your Quirk," Aizawa told her and Mizuki nodded.
"Hah?! I don't need a baby-"
"I didn't give any room for complaints, did I?" Aizawa dangerously stated. Katsuki was grinding his teeth against each other, Mizuki sweat dropping. The older male then stood up, grabbed a pile of papers and walked off.
"Class is starting. Let's go," he said and had the twins stand up. Katsuki did so with much difficulty and irritation. Mizuki on the other hand was up and going. She helped her brother, the sensation of helping her own body very strange.
Aizawa kept the rest of his thoughts to himself. The situation was troublesome. Katsuki didn't have any control over Mizuki's explosion Quirk and it meant a greater danger when it came to the hidden Quirk. Mizuki also didn't have control over it, yet he feared the change might spike it up unnecessarily.
It was an absolute mess.
Katsuki walked next to his sister, the feeling foreign to see himself outside of his body. What was worse was that he was inside hers. It wasn't the body as much, but what she had to go through every day.
For some odd reason, she experiences a high grade of nausea and disorientation. When did it start? How long had she been coping with it? It was unbearable! Yet, she was always acting calm and collected.
Then it was her Quirk. It was nearly impossible not to let it slip every time he lost his temper. He always thought it was ridicules for her to explode when she was scared or abruptly woken up. Now, however, he was made painfully aware that she had to force control on herself.
Mizuki walked next to him, her facial expression impassive. She was taking in the wonders of seeing everything right in front of her clearly. It had been a while she was able to without her reading glasses.
Her brother's body was sturdy and strong. Even so, there was a definite agility in the way his muscles moved. It wasn't near her own but it was enough to not make her uncomfortable. It was a strange feeling to watch her brother walk beside her and her heart went out to him.
It was definitely worse on him than it was on her. Though, she was certain she was going to have a hard time to adjust with his Quirk. Luckily, it was only temporary. She only hoped that he would be able to keep himself upright and not blow everything up at any given time.
Aizawa walked in front, sliding open the door as he entered the rowdy class. Their chatting started to calm down, everyone's eyes going to the clock. He was…early? Why? The feeling had everyone filling with angst.
"You still have three minutes," Aizawa grumbled out tiredly, worn out eyes not using any unnecessary energy to look at the class. Everyone sweat dropped, still uncertain about his true intentions.
Izuku caught sight of Mizuki, a smile forming on his lips. He thought that he wouldn't see her at school because of the time. After all, they always came early. He also wanted to see how she was after meeting up with Toshinori since he didn't get any feedback.
"Morning, Mi-chan!" He called with a wave, Ochaco and Iida following to greet the ash blonde female. They watched as the female stopped in her tracks and give them a menacing glare. Izuku was frozen in his spot where he stood next to her.
"Out of my way, Deku," she snapped angrily and walked past the male. Everyone in the classroom was silent, Izuku white from what he was just called. Mizuki never called him by that nickname, not even as a joke.
D-Deku? Is she mad at me? Oh no, what happened yesterday? Should I have gone? Did All Might say something? Did she find out what I kept from her and now she wants nothing to do with me?! Izuku was filled with panic and despair.
BONK!
Everyone paled when they saw Katsuki hit Mizuki on her head. She yelped, holding her head and glaring at the male behind her. Oh no. He was dead. Katsuki Bakugou was dead. No one, not even her own brother hit her on the head.
"Hey, didn't I tell you to behave until Aizawa Sensei talked?" Katsuki angrily snapped at his sister, steam coming from his fist. Everyone paled as the atmosphere thickened between the twins and fear crept into their hearts.
"Shit, she's gonnna kill him. Kirishima, do something!" Kaminari called towards the redhead and he gave him a confused look. "Midoriya's not responding. We leave it up to you." Izuku stood on the side, white, not breathing and had Ochaco and Iida shaking him to get some kind of sign.
"I'll kill you-""Wait a minute!" Eijiro called and put a hand on Mizuki's shoulder to calm her anger down. She looked back at him, crimson eyes narrowed. Katsuki's eyes widened and quickly acted to stop what was about to happen by pulling the female away.
This action left Eijiro standing on the side, red eyes wide. Katsuki pulled his sister away from the redhead, the gesture almost possessively. Yet, no one knew that it was to prevent another unwanted explosion.
"Sensei! Can you please start explaining before Explodo-kill, explodes again?" Katsuki asked the homeroom teacher who stood tiredly. The nickname made everyone's heads cock to the side on confusion.
Explodo-kill?
"Screw you, Washing Powder! You were the one who hit me! I'll kill you!" Mizuki yelled at her brother, the nickname only causing confusion to rise. Eijiro merely stared at the interaction and swallowed thickly as his brain started to fit the pieces.
Washing Powder?
Aizawa let out a sigh and ordered the papers by tapping on the desk. "Everyone, take your seats. Except you two." Aizawa gave the twins a look, the rest of the class hesitantly taking their seats to hear what the worn-out male was going to say.
"Mizuki and Bakugou was involved in a Quirk incident yesterday and it caused them to switch bodies." Eh? What? "We don't know how long it will last but class will continue as normal," he informed the class.
"WHAT?!"
"Y-You're kidding, right?!" Sero pointed at the twins, eyes wide and filled with disbelief. "Mizuki's in Bakugou's body and he's…" He trailed off as he stared at the male stuck inside his sister's body before bursting out laughing alongside Kaminari.
"Kacchan is Mi-chan and Mi-chan is Kacchan…?" Izuku tried to wrap his head around the situation and swallowed thickly. That explained why he was called Deku, but the fact that they were indeed switched made him pale.
"Don't laugh! It's not funny! I'll kill you, Flat Face!" Katsuki snarled angrily, his body trembling in anger. His twin's eyes widened but before she could do anything, he self-destructed. The explosion had the class fill with silence before the duo burst out laughing again.
Mizuki let her shoulders slump in defeat, her brother's frustration growing. She felt a shiver run down her spine and found Aizawa about to pop a vein. If Katsuki kept this up, they were going to get it.
"We'll go take our seats," she said as she slung an arm over her brother's shoulders. She then gave the two laughing a deadly look. It only made their tears cascade down their cheeks as they laughed and held their stomachs.
SMACK! SMACK!
Sero and Kaminari lay unresponsive with their heads on their desks. Large bumps from the hits they received from on their heads and the laughter was gone. Mizuki sat down with a grunt, satisfied that she made them quiet.
She caught sight of Eijiro, the male's expression showing that the situation was breaking his brains. The thought of being in her brother's body suddenly made her feel much worse and she wished that they would change back quickly.
Eijiro sat with his thoughts spiralling. He couldn't believe it. He planned everything out perfectly to finally ask Mizuki out on a date and now this happened. There was no way he could do it with them stuck like that!
Come on, Eijiro! It's still Mizuki! She already looked like Bakugou from the beginning since their twins. This can't stop you! He told himself and looked at Mizuki who resided in her brother's body. His eye twitched and then widened when he caught sight of those crimson orbs.
Aizawa was quick to inform everyone that classes were continuing as usual and that there were no changes in the program thus far. They needed to make sure that their work was up to date to stay prepared.
He barely finished his last sentence before he was wrapped up in his yellow sleeping bag, sleeping soundly until the end of homeroom reached. He didn't waste any time to get in more sleep, the class not surprised at his behaviour at all.
"Is anyone wondering how this is going to work?" Mina's voice reached their ears as she looked over towards the twins. "I mean, Mizuki-chan is stuck inside Bakugou's body and vice versa. What if we have Hero Basic Training?" Everyone's widened at her words, Mizuki and Katsuki blinking.
"I'll still blow you up."
"I'll still blow you up."
They sweat dropped at their simultaneous reply. Even though they were switched, there were some things where they were exactly the same. Moreover, since they basically had the same Quirk, they should still be plenty powerful…except where Katsuki almost self-destructed.
Mineta clicked his tongue, shaking his head as he moved his index finger from side to side. "You're too naïve! She's talking about how will you be able to change in and out of your clothes?" he said with a sinister smile.
"W-Wait! I-If they switched yesterday, didn't they already have to change?!" Kaminari exploded from his desk, his hand slamming into the table. The girls went blue with horror, the twins not making eye contact as they glared at the desk.
It was clear they didn't want to talk about the life scarring happening. It was already bad enough that it took them at least an hour to only get clothes on their bodies. They honestly didn't want to recall what happened.
"What about going to the bathroom?!"
"Stop asking dumbass questions, Assholes!" Mizuki snapped at them, veins palpitating out from underneath her skin. "Just because we're in different bodies doesn't mean that I can't clobber you. I'm actually glad I'm in Katsuki's body, now I can actually kill you!"
Some things never change…
"Kacc-Ah, Mi-chan, what exactly happened at the Quirk incident?" Izuku corrected himself, talking to the body of Katsuki very strange to him. He watched as a pair of crimson eyes calmed down and looked at him.
"We were trying to help a kid that was lost. She was startled and accidently activated her Quirk." Mizuki glanced at her hands. "It didn't seem to have an effect but when we woke up this morning, we were stuck like this. We don't know how long it will last since it's very unstable," she explained.
Izuku blinked and resisted paling. As I thought, it's weird to talk to Kacchan like this even though it's Mi-chan! He thought and noted that it was probably the first time he ever got a casual reply coming from the male.
"Well, at least you two switched each other. It could've been worse, right?" Eijiro said and had Mizuki give him a blank look. "You switched as twins and despite it not being that nice and all, you could've switched with a stranger." His positivity had Mizuki feel better and she gave him a small smile.
"Thanks, Red," she said, the tone of voice and use of nickname making everyone in the classroom, shiver. She then pointed at her brother who sat in a cloud of darkness. "But I don't think it worked on Explodo-kill over there. It took a hard knock on his pride."
"Well, Mizuki was always just Bakugou with boobs. I guess that just realized now. Neh, neh, neh…how does it feel to be a girl?" Mineta asked, Katsuki's agitation growing and his control over his sister's Quirk slipping.
"Shut up, scum."
"He really never learns, does he…?" Eijiro said with a disapproving facial expression. He didn't agree with the statement at all. Mizuki was her own person, her own identity. They might have physical resemblances and the same angry outbursts but that didn't mean they were the same.
"Bakugou-I mean, Mizuki-kun! What will you be doing if you have to use your Quirks during training? Do you have control over your powers?!" Iida asked as he marched over, Mizuki giving him a lazy look.
"We're going to have to cross that bridge when we get there, Four-Eyes. I'm sure that I'll be able to use Katsuki's Quirk. My brother, however, has his hands full with trying not to explode the entire time," Mizuki said and let out a sigh.
"I'll go talk to the teachers about the training exercises. I hate to ask for it, but hopefully they'll cut us some slack until we've returned back to normal," Mizuki replied and Katsuki growing slamming onto the table.
"Like hell-!"
"I don't want to hear complaining, Katsuki. If they take our grades while we're stuck like this and we fair terrible, then we'll have repercussions. You need to be at your best when you give your best," Mizuki cut off her brother, the male scoffing angrily.
"This is so weird… This is the longest we've ever heard Bakugou talk instead of threatening to kill someone. He even gave words of wisdom! I can't!" Kaminari dramatically stated, ruffling his hair at the terror.
"He's really taking this bad, isn't he?" Eijiro said, sweat dropping at the male's dramatic actions. A few others in the class was very uncertain about the situation, but the more time they used to understand the situation, the better they felt.
"Mmm, why aren't you taking this bad, Red?"
"Ah, that's because I know you're still Mizuki just like I know he's still Bakugou!" Eijiro was quick to reply the female with a big grin. He then looked at the crimson orbs staring into his, his heart warming up.
"Also, you may be in your brother's body but your eyes are still the same," he said, his big grin not wavering one bit. Mizuki resisted the blush that crept on her cheeks and chuckled instead. She briefly closed her eyes and couldn't resist the smile on her face.
If you keep saying stuff like that, you'll only make my heart worse, Red.
It was true for him. He felt torn because of his plans falling away, but after seeing those familiar eyes, he felt better. He would find the perfect opportunity with time. Right now, they needed his support and he would give it as far as he could!
Lunch time…
"I don't know if I should be grateful about not getting homework for tomorrow or worried that they'll throw us under the bus when all of this is said and done," Mizuki said with a sigh as she walked next to her brother.
Katsuki rolled his eyes. "I'd like to see them try to beat me with useless schoolwork," he countered and Mizuki chuckled. She caught sight of him rubbing his eyes and frowned. He was quick to get rid of the tears forming.
"Hey, I did put in my glasses for you to wear. You don't have to push yourself unnecessarily. I know it gets hard to concentrate after a few periods," Mizuki told her brother and he gave her an annoyed gaze.
"Are you stupid? You don't want anyone to know about your dumbass glasses, right? Stop talking nonsense then," he retorted, Mizuki's eyes widened. He had been enduring the straining of eyes and didn't wear the glasses all for her?
Mizuki felt her chest fill with warmth and a smile formed onto her lips. He wasn't complaining about not seeing nor was he complaining about the vertigo. He was enduring it all for her and she couldn't begin to think about how much effort it took.
"You know, if it's for you, then I don't mind." Katsuki's gaze moved towards his sister. "I don't mind it if you wear them because it's you," she said with a kind smile. He blinked and averted his gaze as his cheeks warmed up.
"Don't be ridicules."
Mizuki snickered at his tinted ears. He knew that he couldn't keep his embarrassment a secret from her. She could feel it fill her chest and the blush on his ears was a dead give-away. It was a dead give-away for both of them.
They stopped in their tracks when they saw their usual tablet filled a bunch of unwanted students. Their eyes twitched as they stared at the table, Katsuki's temper flaring and his consciousness pushing down his sister's Quirk.
"What are you idiots doing sitting here?! Huh?!" Katsuki shouted angrily at the group that consisted of half of class 1A and Eijiro. For some odd reason, they were all sitting calmly as they ate and observed the twins.
"We don't want to miss this for the world!"
"We're here to support Mizuki-chan!"
Katsuki was about to blow a fuse, Mizuki putting a hand on his shoulder and giving it a squeeze for him to stay calm. He was about to enjoy his lunch in peace and quiet and now it wasn't possible anymore.
"Sorry about that. I tried to tell them, but they were, you know," Eijiro apologized and Mizuki nodded. She understood that they could all be impossible to communicate with at times. So much for a peaceful lunch.
"I know you two want to start eating but mind if we quickly talk outside?" Eijiro asked the twins, everyone behind him groaning in disagreement. Mizuki blinked in confusion and slowly nodded while Katsuki scoffed.
"Sure, I'll meet you two outside. I just want to grab some juice," Mizuki replied and the redhead nodded. She walked off towards the vending machine with drinks. Eijiro was left with Katsuki by his side, the male growling when he couldn't pocket his hands because of the skirt.
It was really irritating to be a girl. He needed to keep an eye on his appearance half of the time to make sure he sat right and walked right. He had never been this relieved that he was a male in his life.
He glanced at Eijiro, the male's eyes showing his nervousness and returned his gaze to the front. "You finally going to ask her on a date, Shitty Hair?" Katsuki asked, the redhead's eyes widening in disbelief.
"H-How did you-?""I'm not stupid! You've been fidgeting with your pocket and arguing with yourself. It irritates the shit out of me! What are you, spineless? Can't even ask a girl out?" Katsuki snapped at him and Eijiro blinked.
Wait, what? Katsuki had noticed his peculiar behaviour all this time? "Then yesterday when you suddenly marched out with Mizuki…" Katsuki grunted. It was one of the reasons, the other one already of the past.
"You're okay with me asking her out? I mean, she's your sister and all! I would understand if you didn't want me to-""Shut up." Katsuki was curt and didn't have time for the headache that was making its way towards him.
"You're still breathing, aren't you?" Eijiro blinked. "I haven't killed you yet, have I?" Eijiro's eyes widened as he realized the meaning behind the ash blonde male's words. Katsuki was giving him his permission to ask her out…it felt so surreal…especially since he did it with Mizuki's face.
"You picked a shitty time. I doubt that she'll want to go on a date with you while stuck in my body," Katsuki pointed out and Eijiro felt his heart being stabbed. Katsuki was being sincere and honest with him!
"What are you two talking about?" Mizuki came from behind, sucking on her juice and her one hand was pocketed. Katsuki's brow twitched in agitation. She was completely at ease while he was stuck in this forsaken female body!
Eijiro smiled as he built up his courage and then pocketed his hand. He pulled out two tickets and then handed it to the twins. They blinked, Katsuki dumbstruck at the fact that he was also given one. What exactly was going on.
Roller-skating Dome
19:00
"I know this isn't the best time or place, but I also know that we'll be packed with work from here on out. That's why…" Eijiro bowed in front of Mizuki, the female's mouth agape as she looked at the redhead.
"Please go out on a date with me!"
Mizuki's cheeks flushed a deep crimson, everyone in the halls starting to look at the scene. Moreover, she was in her brother's body! They were all going to understand the current situation wrongly!
"W-Wait, Red, not here-!""Why am I included in this?!" Katsuki angrily interrupted his sister, waving the ticket angrily. "I don't want to be a third wheel in this entire thing! Leave me out of it!" His statement only made the situation worse.
"I heard from Aizawa Sensei that you two can't be apart until you change back and since we don't know when that'll be, I made the decision. I also invited everyone from class!" Eijiro said, still bowing and Mizuki stared.
He took everything in consideration. Despite Katsuki not liking anyone in class, he invited the students for him not to feel like a third wheel. He even talked to Aizawa to get the full details about the incident.
Mizuki's lips trembled and she took a step back, her hand covering her face and the males looking at her with confused eyes. They panicked at her lips trembling, Katsuki filled with too many emotions to understand what was going on.
"What the hell… What the hell, Red…?" Mizuki's hand gripped her chest tightly. She didn't understand it. How was he this considerate? How was he this kind? How was he this dedicated to ensure everyone's happiness?
"If you keep this up…I'll fall for you even more…idiot…" Mizuki murmured, their eyes wide at her deeply flushed expression as she tried to hide it with her hands. Eijiro's eyes filled with hope and a gleam of happiness made her swallow thickly.
"I-I'll go…"
Eijiro was shocked at first and then gave her a blinding grin. He was filled with happiness and light pulsed from his body. Katsuki, who was overwhelmed by the emotions his sister had, cut himself off and turned to walk away.
"I'll keep my eye on you! If you do anything weird with my body, I'll kill both of you!" Katsuki sapped weakly and stormed off. Eijiro chuckled and grunted. He then looked at Mizuki's frozen state and took her hand. Her flush deepened and her words fell short in her mouth. He gave her hand a small squeeze and then pulled her along, a small smile unconsciously forming on her lips.
"Hey! Didn't I just say, not to do anything weird!"
