Bella POV
Chapter 18
Aro stands to greet our guests, "Welcome Cullen coven to Volterra, though I wish it were under better circumstances."
Carlisle being the leader is the one to step forward and greet Aro shaking is hand so Aro can read him at the same time.
"We are happy to be here Aro my old friend. I cannot say how sorry we are for what has happened to your Mate."
Carlisle turns his eyes to me now speaking to me directly, "Bella" I can hear the sadness in his voice. Carlisle was once like a father to me, but now I am to hurt by their actions of leaving me behind. I thought they were my family and they just left me alone without a care in the world. Is that what one does to family, abandons them.
"Carlisle." I greet him, I turn to the rest of the Cullen's next. "As my Mate said welcome to Volterra." They all look sad even Rosalie.
"Carlisle I can see from your memories that you care greatly for My Isabella and that it pained you to leave her, but we cannot forget that you left a human behind with knowledge of our existence." I can tell my Mate is saddened about having to punish the Cullen's.
I walk up beside Aro and stare Carlisle in his eyes. "I loved you," I turn to the rest of the Cullen's, "all of you, but I was deeply hurt by your leaving me, but I must also thank you." I can see that everyone is shocked by what I am saying including Edward.
"If it wasn't for your abandoning me I would've never found my Mate and for that I am thankful to you all. So for that the brothers and I have agreed that you will not die for what you have done instead you will stay here in Volterra and serve on the guard for 100 years."
"Thank you for your leniency, Bella I know it was wrong for us to leave you like you did when we all called you family, but all of us would like to make it up to you. I know you can't forgive us right away, but forever is a long time." I see the sincerity in Carlisle's eyes. I don't need Jasper's gift to tell me he means everything he is saying to.
"I would like to get to know you all again. My Mate and I agreed that my change should happen sooner rather than later."
The moment I mention being changed I hear a growl and before I can process what is happening I am grabbed by someone and on the other side of the throne room. I look up to see who has a hold on me and see that it is Edward and his eyes are blacker than I have ever seen them. I look around and see My Mate and family slowly approaching us.
The Cullen's looked just as shocked as everyone else. They obviously had no idea that Edward was going to pull such a stunt.
Aro whispers something in Carlisle's ear that causes Edward to growl again. Carlisle slowly inches closer to us.
"Son what are you doing?"
"She is mine Carlisle, her blood sings to me she belongs to me not him." Edward is constantly growling now.
"Son she is not your Mate, your Mate is out there but it isn't Bella, please let her go this isn't you."
"Your wrong Carlisle she is mine. ALL MINE!"
With that I feel his teeth in my wrist where I was bit before, I start to feel the fire in my veins as Edward is tackled to the ground by Jasper.
"No her blood is mine, if I can't have her no one can." Those are the last words I hear from Edward before he is beheaded.
Aro is above my now stroking my hair. "My love I am so sorry I can't believe I let this happen to you."
"Your venom not his." With those last words blackness takes over my vision and all I can focus on is the burning.
