Once we got Louis and bought his school supplies we were finally on our way to Hogwarts.
We used the Floo Network to get there. We arrived a week earlier than the other students. McGonagall showed us around and got us used to the grounds. I was thankful for that because I am prone to getting lost.
The week went by quickly and soon students were filling the Great Hall and first years were lining up to be sorted.
Louis and I were also in the crowd of first years walking into the Great Hall. Among the first years I spotted Alex and Harris and waved at them. They waved back.
Once we reached the stool with the sorting hat McGonagoll started the ceremony. Unluckily i was the first student called. "Logan Davison," she said.
I pushed through the crowd and made my ways to the stool. I sat down in front of all the Hogwarts students and Minnie placed the hat on my head.
"Ha," the Sorting hat said in my head. "I don't know you but I know where you should go, SLYTHERIN!" He yelled to the Great Hall. The Slytherins cheered and I sat down at their table.
Next was Louis. After a few minutes he was sorted into Hufflepuff.
Next came someone I didn't expect. "Gianna, Malfoy," Aunt Minnie called.
The dark skinned girl with black hair came forward and sat on the stool. In the next few minutes I hoped and crossed my fingers that she wasn't put in the same house as me. After what seemed like forever, the sorting hat yelled, "SLYTHERIN!" And I knew I was doomed.
Gianna and I had grown up together. When we were younger we were inseparable. Until I met someone new and became that girl's best friend. From then on Gianna made it her mission to make my life miserable. For years she bullied me and at one point she turned all the girls in our grade against me. I hated her with a burning passion and when she moved away I thought that would be the last of her. I had hoped I would never have to see her ugly face but here we were.
She sat down opposite of me like we were friends. She didn't smile or say anything so I glared at her until she got the message and turned her attention to her twin sister as she was getting sorted.
Vanessa tended to be nicer to me at times. She always followed her sister's lead so that never helped the situation. When it was just me and her she never talked to me but didn't make fun of and taunt me either. She just sat there.
Finally, she was sorted into Slytherin much to my protest. Great, I thought, now I have to deal with both of the twins. Fun.
After a while Harris got sorted into Slytherin so he came and sat by me. At one point during the ceremony he tried and failed to hold my hand. (I jerked it back before he could.) I was glad I had someone I knew in the same house as me even if it was Harris.
A girl named Bailey Roberts got sorted into Ravenclaw and a girl named Calynn Potter got sorted into Gryffindor. Finally it was Alex's turn. He was the last one and I was brewing with anticipation.
"Alex, Valentina," McGonagoll said. He calmly walked up to the stool and sat down.
Right as my aunt was about to place the hat on his head, someone fired a spell at me. They didn't say anything, they just pointed their wand at me and suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my chest. I started hyperventilating and fell off the bench I was sitting on. I fell on the floor and even though Harris caught me I hit my head hard on the ground. My chest felt like it was on fire and when I looked at Harris I saw that he was covered in my blood.
I heard McGonagoll yell, "CALM DOWN AND HEAD QUIETLY TO YOUR DORMS!" Then I blacked out.
