"If you love her so much why dont you go date her then!" Vanessa yelled at Harris.
"Because she doesn't feel that way towards me!" Harris yelled back. They had been doing this for almost an hour.
I sat in a corner trying to read a book. Alex came and sat beside me mesmerized by the chaos ensuing from his best friend and my former roommate.
Vanessa and Calynn had switched rooms. Now Vanessa was living in Gianna's old room by herself and Calynn was my new roommate.
"What are they fighting about?" He asked me.
"Don't know," I replied not really caring. "I think it's about some girl that Harris likes more than Vanessa. Honestly I couldn't care less," and I went back to reading my book.
"Huh, you don't know who?" He asked still mesmerized.
I sighed and put down my book. "No, but I could find out. Possibly. But it's gonna cost you," I pointed out.
"Fine. How much?"
"Depends on the service. What do you want to know?"
"Hmm," he said, "I would like to know who they're fighting about and why they got together in the first place."
"That could be done. Ten gallons."
"Ten?!"
"Want to make it twenty?"
"No, here," he fished the coins out of his pocket. "Take it."
"Pleasure doing business with you," I nodded as I counted the coins. "Give me ten days. Then get back to me. I should have the information by then. If I have it before then I will let you know," I informed him.
"Thank you," and he went back to watching the screaming match while I went back to reading my book.
"It wasn't easy but I finally got the information," I told Alex ten days later, like I promised.
"And?" He asked impatiently.
"Vanessa said they were fighting because Harris has feelings for me! Can you believe it?" I laughed. "I told her that that was so ridiculous. So I guess we'll never know who they were really fighting over but I did find out why they got together."
"Great! Why?"
"Apparently Harris wanted to get close to me!" I laughed again. "Man! Vanessa was so lying! I mean why would Harris even be interested in me? We're just friends. Anyways here's your money back since I couldn't get the things you asked for." I held out the coins for him to take it.
"I'm sorry, I can't take this," he told me.
"Why?"
"Because it's yours. Keep it." Then he smiled at me. "Wanna go hang out in the courtyard?"
"Did you just ask me if I wanted to go watch Vanessa and Harris have another screaming match?"
"Well-I uh," he stuttered.
I laughed at his flustered face. "Because I would love to."
I hooked my arm in his and we talked as we walked to the courtyard.
I'm sorry this is so random. I'm having a bit of writer's block at the moment. Bear with me please.
