A small boy laid on the ground of the playground, beaten and bruised as he looked up into the sky, tears flowing from his eyes. Young Izuku Midoriya learned how powerless he was... How weak he was. Earlier he had tried to stop a gang of boys lead by hot headed bully he knew. The issue was... they had quirks, he did not.
Ever since that doctor's visit with his mother to see if he was going to get a quirk eventually, in which he learned the sad truth that he was like 20% of the population, kids have been picking on him left and right. Their taunts echoed in his head.
"Haha, quirkless Deku!"
Even that night, asking his mother if he could still be a hero like his idol, the legendary Symbol of Hope, All Might. His heart was shattered as she told him nothing but sorry, something that he didn't need to hear at that moment.
This didn't stop Izuku as he grew up into his teen years, his dream burning brightly with his collection of notes he takes from various hero he's observed. Even though Bakugo, his bully since they were kids, burned his most recent journal, he still wanted to hold on to a sliver of his dreams.
That day would change his life in more than one way, when he was walking under the usual stone bridge to get home. A villain had captured him and suffocated him, his eyes watering as he silently begged for someone to save him. "Hehe, thanks for the help kid. This will only hurt for a... Huh?" The villain's gaze shifted towards a lone child staring at him and Izuku, smiling oddly calmly.
"Who are you!?" He shouted as he prepared to attack before he felt his goo like body get stiff, like it was hardening. Izuku barely could see, but the little boy had... ears? He couldn't tell with his vision going blurry and dark, faintly hearing the boy speak before a shout was heard behind the villain, "Texas Smash!"
The last thing Izuku saw was a silhouette that looked familiar, a burly man whom seemed to have thrown a punch, "Is that... All Might?"
Izuku walked home with a exhausted sigh, having met All Might and been saved by him a second time (With Bakugo whom was captured by the same slime villain) and being told that he can be a hero as well. It was like a dream to him, though the last bit about inheriting All Might's quirk threw him for a loop. But tomorrow he would train his body to properly inherit said hero's quirk. However as he was prepared to enter his home, he paused once he hear a odd giggle. Looking around and seeing no one, Izuku made his way into the house.
Above on a branch, a small child wagged his tail eagerly, smiling brightly. "Finally... Hope that means he'll finally use me!" The boy beamed before fading.
