Kyo watched as his son Nagisa cooked with Isogai. Now, cooking isn't that big of a deal. If anything, he was very proud of his son for learning how to cook, simply by watching his mother. He believed that the kitchen is a place for all people. Except for the idiots, they should stay as far away from it as possible. What made Kyo stare as much as he does is how much his son was cooking. There had to be at least enough food to feed 25 people. And his son was still cooking!
"Nagisa?"
"Yeah dad?"
"Are your friends coming over?"
"Yep."
"John and Chiba are with them?"
"They're my friends."
"...well, at least we'll have a show." Kyo said, walking out. Maehara, Hiromi and his mother, Tamaken Miyoko were setting the table. The group of friends that Nagisa usually invites are quite a lively group. Only a few minutes later did Kyo hear a knock on the door.
"Coming!" he called. He walked over and opened it. Karma grinned back at the man.
"Hello Kyosan." he greeted. He was followed by Itona, Okuda, and Sugino. Kayano came a little later with her sister in her wheelchair. Aguri greeted Hiromi happily.
"Hello Hiromi! Thank you for having us over." Aguri said cheerfully.
"Thank you for coming over." Hiromi smiled back.
"KARMA! HELP ME WITH THE FOOD!" Nagisa roared from the kitchen. Karma jogged to the kitchen and came out a little later with a couple of plates, filled with food. Itona and Sugino also went into the kitchen to help. Itona was immediately kicked out by the small tealnette.
"He's still mad, huh?" said as she looked at the white haired emo still face planted on the floor. The first time the group came over for dinner, Itona kept eating everything that he was supposed to hand out. Nagisa didn't like that, so he kicked him every time afterwards.
"Pardon the intrusion." Rinka said as she came in. She had stopped wearing her hair in twin pigtails, instead opting for a neat bun and bangs framing her face. The group thought she looked quite pretty.
"Is Ryu, John, and Yada here yet?" she asked.
"No, but they'll be here soon." Nagisa said as he walked awkwardly out of the kitchen, holding a few more plates and putting them down on the crowded table. He grabbed his cane and swatted at Itona's hand, which was reaching for a chicken leg. Another knock sounded out. Nagisa walked over to the door and opened it. Yada smiled next to John. The once bony teen looked much healthier now. He clearly was eating more. Much more than one would think.
"Hey guys. John, how are you feeling?"
"Good. Yada's been really helpful." John said. He seemed a little more timid than the one that the HC had met a year ago. "Thanks for inviting us. Sorry for the trouble."
"Not at all. I like cooking." Nagisa smiled back. The door was knocked again, and Nagisa went to open it. Ryu greeted the small tealnette with a nod. He had grown his bangs back, and the rest of his hair out. He had also gotten taller over the years, over six feet in fact. Nagisa looked down to see what looked to be a mini-Ryu, hiding slightly behind him. This was Sho, a much shyer and smaller version of Ryu. He only came up to his brother's chest. He had the same hairstyle as Ryu, but Nagisa saw his eyes peeking out from behind the bangs. While Ryu's were sharp and intimidating, Sho's were round, and innocent.
"Hello Sho. How are you?" Nagisa asked.
"Good. It's nice to see you Nagisa." Sho said quietly.
"Come in. I made sure to make enough food for, I DON'T THINK SO ITONA!" Nagisa yelled, throwing his cane. Itona ducked under the flying stick and backed away from the food. Sakura came running down the stairs and picked up the cane, handing it back to her teacher.
"Hi Sho!" She greeted the younger boy. The two met a little while ago, when Ryu came over for training. Sho ended up coming with, and the two had studied and played games while the older teens sparred.
"Hi Sakura." Sho greeted back.
"Well Chiba, since we're all here, why don't we eat?" Nagisa smiled. Ryu nodded and walked over to the table. He and his brother sat to the left of Rinka, who Ryu greeted with a quick peck to the cheek. She blushed slightly but pecked him back. Everyone sat around the crammed table, from Nagisa's entire family to Sho and Sakura.
"Thank you for the food!" everyone said after sitting down. Ryu, John, and Itona waited while everyone else got their food. After loading their plates as much as they could, Nagisa nodded to the three. They immediately dug in, eating as much as they could. Itona was simply a glutton, but Ryu and John's tentacles used their natural energy. As such, they need much, much more food. Rinka passed Ryu a cup of water when he swallowed too much. He drank it, sighing in relief as it went down.
"Ryu, slow down. Nagisa made plenty." she scolded lightly.
"Sorry. It's just, while the bars Okuda made me do help, they don't taste as good as a real home cooked meal. No offence Okuda." he directed the last part to the chemist, who shook her head.
"None taken Chiba. I made them for functionality over taste after all." the chemist said before eating some more fried rice. Nagisa really was a good cook.
"So, how have all of you been lately?" Aguri asked with a bright smile. Sakura swallowed her dumpling.
"Nagisa's been teaching me how to fight!" she said.
"Really?"
"Yeah. The first lesson was a mental lesson. In the heat of battle, there's no such thing as thinking, nor is there such a thing as not thinking.." Sakura said.
"What? What does that mean Nagisa, you think in battle all the time!" Yada said.
"He means that there are certain types of thinking." Karma said.
"Yeah. You can't afford to think about every move you do, but not thinking is a terrible mistake." Sakura explained. "He proved this by punching me in the face."
"Well when you say it like that…" Nagisa looked to the corner of his eye. The assassins who trained with Nagisa laughed.
"Nagisa is a harsh teacher, but he's effective." Maehara said.
"Wait, but didn't you guys fight off a dude for beating you guys up too much when he taught you?" Sho looked at his brother. "Why is it okay for Nagisa to do that?"
"Takaoka only beat us up to assert dominance. Nagisa does so because it teaches an actual lesson. Experience is also a lesson." Ryu explained. Sho made a noise of understanding. They continued to eat, Rinka finishing first.
"Thank you for the meal." she said, putting her hands together. She stood up, only to get stopped by Ryuki.
"Hayami, I have a gift for you." he said as he wiped his mouth. He stood and walked out the room. Rinka waited, before Ryuki walked out. In his hands was a katana stand. The group watched as Rinka took the katana up, stunned. It was incredibly sharp, almost sixty nine (nice) cms long. It was beautifully crafted, with her name engraved on the blade.
"I, thank you. Sensei." she bowed. Ryuki bowed back.
"You deserve it Hayami. Unlike a certain student who up and quit!" he shot a look at Yada who looked away whistling. While Rinka and Nagisa continued to train, Yada had quit, preferring to rely on her infiltration skills and knife training.
"Well, you can break that katana in soon enough. We have a mission. One meant for quadrant A." Nagisa said as he looked at his phone.
"What?! But I'm still eating!" Ryu protested. Rinka looked at him. "Alright, fine." he quickly inhaled the rest of his food. In total, he ate enough food for 16 people. But he was still a little hungry, so he took out a food bar and ate it.
"I can come with you, right?" Sho looked at his brother. The team looked at Ryu with a brow raised.
"Sho, I said you can help. I didn't say you can go on a mission." Ryu said sternly.
"But how can I help if I don't come along!"
"Ask Nagisa." Ryu said as he and most of the other members walked out of the house. Sho looked at Nagisa.
"Follow me." Nagisa said as he walked out, Okuda and Yada
-Line Break-
Somewhere, in Northern Japan, there is an old, brick building. The building had been standing there for the better part of the last two centuries, and it was a hotspot for tourists and locals alike. Until about a year ago, when a group of heavily armed men forcibly took over the building. The building was bought legally, and all the attempts to stop and/or arrest them was stopped by simply bribing the officials. No one in the area knew, but there was a leak of info. And some people were taking advantage of this.
Now, the building was on top of a cliff, surrounded by a massive forest. The trees were mostly pine trees, and there were many wooden watch posts around. On one such outpost, the guard standing there noticed something. He looked in its direction carefully. It was a masked redhead teen, probably male. He watched as the redhead mimed pulling something apart and throwing it. It wasn't until the redhead spread his arms did the guard realize what he was saying.
"Oh sh-!" the guard didn't finish as a massive explosion shook the area. Karma grinned as he hopped down to the side. He sat on a motorcycle, hidden from view.
"Hunter Classroom! Let's do this with a bang!" he said into a radio.
"Moving in!" a jeep roared as it drove through the forest. Isogai and Maehara whooped as they drove, Sugino in the driver seat, the three wearing their own masks. Maehara grabbed onto the massive gun in front of him and revved it up.
"Thank you Picture-Book Graduate!" he cheered. The jeep was much like the Gauss Warthog from Halo, so Maehara wasted no time firing a destructive shot from the turret. It took down a watch tower with a loud bang. Karma grinned at the sound and revved up the motorcycle.
'I gotta thank Nagisa for giving me his bike.' he thought as he sped after the Warthog. They were joined by another jeep, this one holding Ryu, Rinka, Yada, and Kanzaki, all also wearing masks. Rinka and Ryu narrowed their eyes at the sight of snipers getting into position.
"Ritsu, take the wheel."
"You got it Ryu!" the AI said cheerfully as the jeep shifted into auto-pilot. Ryu took out the Requiem as Rinka took out not a rifle, but instead the katana Ryuki gave her.
"Mark!" Ryu barked.
"Sync!" Rinka responded. Ryu shifted the Requiem into a rocket launcher and fired a rocket. Rinka grunted as the rocket pulled her into the air, heading towards the snipers. Ryu shifted Requiem into a bow and aimed, holding himself steady with Kanzaki's help and a foot in his seat. He fired energy arrows, which zoomed forwards and hit the sniper aiming at his girlfriend. Rinka cut the rope and landed near the snipers. Her katana flashed as she quickly sliced the snipers down, knocking away their rifles and knocking them out with the butt of her sword. She leapt down, landing in Ryu's arms as the jeep passed by. The rocket Ryu shot took down another watchtower, allowing the group to pass easily.
"Good one Sniper Duo! Now, time to really kick ass!" Karma yelled. The three vehicles used a fallen watchtower as a ramp, soaring through the air. Rinka and Isogai used the momentum from the jump to leap forward into the wall of thugs, knocking them down as Karma slammed into more with the front wheel of his bike. He leapt over the front into another group. He ducked as the bike slammed into another guy before forward kicking another. He looked at the now dented bike.
"...well Nagisa isn't going to be happy."
"YA DAMN RIGHT!" Nagisa screamed over the comms, making Karma wince. He glared at the screen in front of him. Sakura patted his arm from her spot next to him. Since he was handicapped, he had decided to help his friends from afar, by using some satellites to watch over the area and giving his friends help. "Where do you get off to, wrecking my bike?!"
Ryu leapt high into the trees where there was another sniper. He kicked him out, sending the man screaming to the ground. He whipped out Saiko and Shuujinn and used them to grab onto another branch and swing into another sniper. Below Maehara continued to scream in defiance and adrenaline as he continued to blast people with the Gauss cannon. Kanzaki leaned out the jeep with her SMG and fired as well. Ryu looked up at the building in the distance.
"I'm going ahead." he said into the comm. He wrapped Saiko and Shuujin around two trees and pulled them back. He slingshot himself above the trees and towards the fortress. He pulled out Requiem and shifted it into it's rifle form, firing at the soldiers spilling out. They yelled as they fell, Ryu landing on the staircase up. Requiem turned into a staff which Ryu used to knock away bullets. Back at the team's base, Sho watched his brother with wide eyes.
"Wow! Ryu-nii is awesome!" he said, amazed.
"Chiba certainly is strong, even before he got his tentacles." Nagisa said over his shoulder. "If you want to go out to the field, you need both his permission and proper training."
"Do I get to go out to the field?" Sakura asked.
"You don't even know how to dodge." Nagisa said.
"I do too!" she protested. Nagisa chopped her head, leaving a bump.
"So, what do I do?" Sho asked.
"Look at the schematics. Ryu told me you like architecture too, right?" Nagisa pointed to some blueprints. Sho smiled as he looked over the blueprints. "Find and tell me where there are some spots where the team can go in."
"Okay. Um, the closest entrance for Ryu-nii is the top, but for the rest of the team there's an opening near the bottom of the cliff." Sho quickly fired off as he looked between the schematics and the screens.
"Good. You guys heard that?" Nagisa said into the radio.
"Yeah, but it looks like the opening on the bottom is closed up." Karma said back as he straightened the bike and revved it back up.
"Then I'll open it." Ryu said. A grunt from behind made him turn. Rinka stood with her katana at the ready, a goon at her feet knocked out. "We'll open it." Saiko and Shuujin popped out and wrapped themselves around Rinka.
"Why hello there pretty lady." Shuujin purred.
"Stop." Saiko scolded. Ryu rolled his eyes at their antics and leapt to the top of the roof, Rinka carried along. She slammed the butt of her katana into another man's skull while Ryu kicked another into the door, knocking it open. The two ran down, Ryu taking out goons left and right with potshots from Requiem while Rinka slashed her opponents.
"There should be a control panel around three floors down. The panel is manual, so Ritsu can't hack it." Nagisa informed the two.
"I can't help but feel a little useless." Ritsu said.
"You're plenty of help." Sugino assured her as he ducked under a rocket. It exploded behind him as he slammed his rifle onto the skull of the maniac who shot at him. Kanzaki landed near him.
"So, does this count as a date?" he asked.
"I don't see why not. It'd be better with less murder goons though." she said jokingly. Sugino laughed before she shot out the tires of another jeep heading their way. She and Sugino ran to the side, circling around the soldiers. Karma took out a club and smacked goons as he drove by.
"Hey Gauss duo! What are you guys doing?!" he yelled into the mic.
"Stalling!" Maehara called back as he shot the Gauss cannon again, sending more soldiers flying with a yell. Isogai was firing his machine gun, protecting his friend from people coming closer.
"Not anymore." Ryu said as he slammed a fist into the control panel. Rinka slammed the back of her katana into another goon's throat, making him gasp for air. She quickly grabbed him and spun around, slamming the goon into the wall, knocking him out. More soldiers pooled in, only for the newly entered Maehara to shoot the wall above them, causing them to fall back. He blasted the rubble blocking the doorway and turned the cannon to the opening. Ritsu's jeep burst in, Sugino, Kanzaki, and Yada inside. Karma came a few seconds later. Ryu closed the control panel, blocking out the rest of the guards outside.
"It's time to get this son of a b*tch!" Karma said.
"Language!" Ryu scolded. Karma looked at him with a brow raised.
"Really?"
"My brother is listening."
"I'm in Eighth Grade!" Sho protested.
"And I'm your older brother!" Ryu snapped back.
"Guys! Get to Kugimiya before he escapes!" Nagisa interrupted. Rinka, Karma, Sugino, and Isogai ran out, the rest of the team staying behind to guard the vehicles. Karma ran forward and slammed into the guards waiting outside the room. Rinka quickly got to work, cutting their sides and faces, distracting them long enough for Sugino to slam his rifle onto their heads, knocking them out. He flipped the rifle and fired it at the guards coming down, startling them. Isogai used Sugino as a springboard to leap at them. He kicked on down where she was knocked out by Karma. Rinka ran up the wall and jumped off, hitting the goons again with her katana. Noticing more coming down, she sheathed her katana and clapped her hands. Some of the soldiers tripped, causing others to trip over them, sending them all falling down the steps. Karma, Isogai, and Sugino swung over the guardrails, letting the soldier tumble down. Karma looked at Rinka, who had pulled herself up with a nearby torch stand.
"You're really getting good at that." he commented.
"You'd better not be hitting on her." Ryu warned.
"Ryu." Rinka sighed.
"Sorry."
"Come on! We still got a mission!" Sugino said. The four continued to make their way up, bursting through the doors. A fat man grabbed a pistol and pointed it towards them, only for it to get shot out of his hand by Rinka, Isogai, and Karma, who all had pulled out their own pistols.
"Y-you! How dare you! Do you-!" Kugimiya was cut off by a punch to the face, courtesy of Sugino. The baseball geek made a sound of disgust as he shook his hand.
"Ugh. So greasy! What has this guy been eating?" he gagged, wiping his hand on his pants.
"W-who are you?!" Kugimiya slurred as he struggled to crawl back.
"Kugimiya Hisayuki. Wanted for murder, rape, drug trafficking, human slavery, underaged pornagraphy, assault, robbery, all coming in at a total price of 30 million yen." Karma listed.
"Who are we? We're the Hunter Classroom." Sugino said before swinging his rifle, knocking the fat man out. He rubbed the butt of the rifle on the carpeted floor while Ryu called out some of his non-sentient tentacles to pick the man up.
"And with that, your debt is paid." Karma grinned at the sniper. Ryu grinned back. As soon as he collected his split, the debt his family owed would be paid. Or at least, so he thought.
-Line Break-
"What?! The debt was increased?!" Ryu yelled into the phone.
"Sorry, company rules. Too bad." the voice on the other end sniggered at this.
"We had a deal." Ryu gritted his teeth.
"So we did. But the company decided to increase the interest. So, you'll be giving us some more money." the voice taunted, hanging up before Ryu could respond. Ryu roared in anger as he slammed the phone onto the ground, shattering both.
"Ryunosuke, calm down. You're doing so much for us, let us handle the rest." his father coaxed. His mother nodded. She had gotten released from the hospital a few months ago, and was very thankful that her son had managed to pay off as much as the debt he did. But at this rate, the family was about to pay the company almost 2 billion yen!
"This can't be legal, can it?" his mother asked.
"I'm afraid we have no choice. If we do anything else, we might get targeted." his father shook his head. Ryu walked up to his room, plopping his face down and screaming into his pillow. First he didn't get to finish his delicious meal. Then this? This was all pissing him off.
"Ryu-nii?" Sho said cautiously as he walked in.
"We'll be fine Sho. I promise. I just need one chance to put those b*st*rds in their place." Ryu growled.
'One chance. Any chance I can get. Anything I can do to get back to those jerks legally.' Ryu thought venomously to himself. His phone rang, prompting Ryu to grab the phone and answer it.
"Hello?"
"How's life knowing you paid off the debt?" Nagisa asked.
"I didn't. They increased the amount again."
"What?"
"Yeah."
"...well, I got some good news for you."
"What is it?"
"We got another mission. Six targets, total bounty 734 million yen."
"When do we start?"
There we go, chapter one of the sequel! As per the usual, leave a review! Azure out!
