Author's note: My third one-shot where Harry is paired with an original character. Also my second one-shot where Harry doesn't make an appearance until near the end.
OC: Chiaki Chang
It was lunchtime and the majority of Hogwarts was reporting to the Great Hall. Out in the corridors was a girl with curly reddish-blonde hair, who's name was Marietta Edgecombe. She was smirking because, unknown to the members of Dumbledore's Army, set her supposed best friend, Cho Chang, up to sell out the organization by leading her into a trap with members of the Inquisitorial Squad (all of whom, with the exception of Argus Filch the squib caretaker, were in Slytherin house; especially the Slytherins who were pure-blood supremacists like the Malfoys). Even though she was in Ravenclaw, Marietta had more Slytherin cunning (bad cunning that was) than Ravenclaw intelligence. She was about thirty feet from the double doors when the arrogant Ravenclaw felt a harsh tap on her shoulder. Upon turning around, Marietta was stunned to see not Cho, but her sister Chiaki, standing there with an angry expression on her face while glaring and her arms folded across her chest.
"Yes?!" Marietta responded, trying to play innocent.
"You've got alot of nerve to set my sister up, you insensitive bitch!" growled Chiaki.
"What are you talking about?" asked Marietta in mock confusion, still trying to play innocent.
"Yeah you do!" snapped Chiaki. "You lured my sister into a trap to have her rat out everybody in Dumbledore's Army. I even heard ferret boy bragging about how he forced Cho to take Veritaserum after you lured her into his clutches. I even have a suspicion that you've been giving Cho drinks laced with the strongest loyalty potions."
"Like I'd even do such a thing," said Marietta with a mild sneer. "Besides, you don't even have any proof of such matter."
"As a matter of fact, I do." said Chiaki, pulling out a rolled-up scroll of parchment, unrolled it and and began reading it. "I was given this by Luna, after she found it underneath a cushion on one of our common room sofas. You claimed Cho was your bestie, and yet you've been double-crossing her just because you thought she and Harry were seeing each other."
"If only Potter wouldn't stop sprouting those filthy lies Professor Umbridge warned him about...!" Marietta replied in a sneer.
That was enough for Chiaki to smack her sister's supposedly best friend across the cheek in anger, outraged that Marietta would just accuse Harry of such. The girl before Chiaki proved to be totally ungrateful since Cho had been looking out for Marietta and she never returned the favour. Marietta continued to treat Harry with as much contempt as possible. Angered that she had gotten smacked across the face, Marietta tried to pounce on Chiaki, who quickly darted out of the way and making Marietta hit the floor with a hard thud. Despite minor pain in her body, Marietta still got back up and tried fighting Chiaki, but she quickly and expertly beat Marietta with some kung-fu moves, much to the surprise of the passing students. Marietta was temporarily stunned from the fight, but conscious enough to see Chiaki bending down and giving the arrogant ravenclaw on the ground a nasty glare.
"Harry and Cho were never dating despite those rumours, Edgecombe," Chiaki revealed. "Because Harry and I are dating. I met him last year on the first Hogsmeade weekend, when he wasn't allowed to visit the village because he lacked parental or guardian consent. Harry would meet Cho one morning when Cedric invited him to join him, me and Cho for breakfast at the Hufflepuff table, as Cedric felt that he should make it up to Harry for catching the snitch after those dementors made him fall off his broom, even though Cedric still won fair and square. Unless you want me to continue kicking your arse in another fight, I suggest you walk away and not say anything that insults his memory."
Marietta nodded her head stiffly before getting up and staggering away while everybody who watched Marietta getting her arse kicked clapped and cheered for Chiaki, who began walking down towards a corridor. Watching her approaching was Harry Potter and he had a smirk on his face, implying that he watched Chiaki using kung-fu on Marietta. Chiaki rerolled the parchment showing evidence of Marietta brewing loyalty potions back up and pocketed it. Then Harry pulled Chiaki closer to him and the two began kissing each other on the lips for three minutes, then they pulled away when they needed to catch their breath.
"I remember when I asked you if you needed any help in confronting Edgecombe," said Harry. "But you told me that you didn't and that you could handle her on your own. I realized that you weren't kidding and the fighting moves you used proved it."
"Hopefully that arrogant bint will think twice before making any more assumptions." said Chiaki while smirking. Then she continued on, "Let's go check on Cho, since being given veritaserum while still under the influence of those loyalty potions resulted in her experiencing the symptoms of potion overdose. Mum and dad should be at the hospital wing now and i have evidence of what Edgecombe had been doing to Cho behind her back, a rolled-up scroll of parchment that Luna gave me after she found it tuched in between the cushions of a sofa in the Ravenclaw common room."
Chiaki pulled the parchment out and showed it to Harry, who widened his eyes in horror to discover how someone could do this to Cho, especially since she was one of the kindest girls he ever met (Chiaki and Luna being other ones). Then Harry and Chiaki began reporting to the hospital wing while holding hands. They knew that Marietta was going to be in a world of trouble, since Cho and Chiaki's mother, Chuya, worked for the ministry in the Department of International Magical Cooperation. Harry and Chiaki were grinning in amusement as they imagined what Chuya's reaction was going to be and how Marietta was going to react once she was confronted.
The End!
Author's note: I'd like to give a shoutout to 'The Underrated HP Fan'for suggesting that Cho's sister beat Marietta up for setting Cho up to sell the other members of Dumbledore's Army to Umbitch and the Inquisitorial Squad due to Marietta's concerns that Harry and Cho were possibly dating.
