But Picard was gone.
"How are we going to find the Captain now?" Deanna said.
"I have an idea." Geordi said a little nervous.
"What?" they all said.
"Wesley."
Everyone stood or sat there in shock.
"I don't know if he's going to help us. After the way some of us treated him from jealousy." Worf said.
They all stood there quietly knowing he was right.
"We need someone to help us get Captain back. And I know Wesley's always looked at him as a mentor. So he would help us with him." Beverly said.
They all knew she was right and looked at each other.
"How are we gonna get him?" Geordi said.
"We can try with the engage." Deanna said.
They all nodded and Riker got it all set.
A few seconds later Wesley was there confused.
"What the- how did I get here? I don't have my combadge anymore." he said.
Then he looked in front of himself and froze.
"Mom?" he said.
"Hi Wes." she said.
"What am I doing here?"
"We need your help with Captain. He's gone." Riker said.
Wesley stood there losing his temper remembering the way they treated him when he was here, even after all the help he gave them.
"Why the hell should I help you?" he said angry and shocking everyone. "I know Worf and Geordi don't like me because of my intelligence I'm guessing. And besides, I'm not part of this anymore. I may have finished school but I still don't have to help you."
"Wesley please. I'm sure we can figure this out. And you said yourself, the Captain is your mentor." Beverly said.
He just stood there. He knew she was right, he had seen him as a mentor and a father.
But kept the father part quiet.
It took them three hours of fighting to get him to give in.
"Fine. I'll stay for a week after we get him back. Then I'll decide what to do."
"Deal." they all said relieved.
Then he thought of something.
"Do I have to put my old clothes on or can I just look like when I first started being here? Except a combadge?"
'Please let me keep these clothes on.'
"You have to wear them to make them think you're back from the Academy." Riker said.
'Damnit!'
He sighed and nodded.
"Where are they? I know he kept my clothes and badge. Mom told me he hopes that I'll be back and stay with you guys. He even said that one day I might be Captain myself."
He chuckled at the last part then got him to what he was before.
"Give me a few minutes and I'll be back."
Then he headed to his former quarters.
When he got there he looked around and saw the clothes and badge in the closet. He walked over to his closet and grabbed them then looked at them.
"Why am I doing this? They hate me and I'm still going to help them." he said then shook his head.
Then he changed into his outfit and looked at himself in the mirror.
He put a hand on his combadge and pictured his face when he was promoted to wearing this as an ensign, Ensign Crusher.
"We'll see what happens while we're doing this."
Then he left.
When he got to the main bridge he looked at everyone.
"Alright, what do we need me to do?" he asked.
Beverly was smiling a little. She missed him and missed him being the boy that used to love it here. He wasn't completely there yet but she could tell there was a small part of him that missed being here.
While they came up with an idea the people that were jealous of him were thinking that they should be thankful they have someone this smart.
"Alright, if we have what we need we should be able to do this." Wesley said.
So he and Geordi headed to the engineering silently.
'Maybe I was being too hard on the kid. He really is smart and used to love it here.' Geordi thought.
When they got to the engineering they got everything they needed and made it.
"Don't do anything with it yet. Let me check to make sure nothing happens." Wesley said.
So Geordi backed up and let Wesley check on everything.
Wesley had to fix a few things up. When he was done he looked at Geordi.
"All set. Let's go to the main bridge." he said.
Geordi nodded and followed Wesley with it on his hand.
