Nicole materialized on board the USS Enterprise with Admiral Collins. Adam and his 2yr old, Mia along with Rachel accompanied them.
"Hello Admiral, welcome aboard." Captain Picard said with a smile. He was in a dress uniform since it was regulation when meeting someone like Admiral Collins who is a highly decorated Admiral.
"Hello Captain. Let me introduce my children." Admiral Collins started with his mini me. A light skinned, dark haired, green eyed pilot, "This is Adam and his daughter Mia." Then he went to a blonde hair blue eyed cadet. "This is Rachel."
Lastly he went to Nicole. Who looked nothing like the rest of the bunch. She had bright baby blues and dark almost black hair. She was also a striking resemblance to the first officer of the flagship. Commander William T. Riker.
"This is my eldest, Nicole."
Nicole smiled and nodded her head. "It's a pleasure to be onboard, sir."
After the pleasantries were done, they were all shown to their quarters, Adam and Nicole stayed in one of the family quarters while the Admiral and Rachel were staying in some other quarters on another deck.
Eventually, Nicole, Adam, and Mia were in the Admiral's quarters for dinner.
"You're going to have to tell him, the captain." Nicole said, taking a bite of her high protein pasta.
"Yeah I know. He is going to be suspicious. If he isn't already." Admiral Collins said.
"Yes especially when it is known you have two children and not three!" Nicole said, a little too loudly.
"I know! We will tell him before it gets too out of hand. Okay?" Admiral Collins said in his Admiral voice.
"Yes sir." Nicole said, taking another bite of food.
"So while Nicole and I are in a briefing, what are the two of you doing?" Admiral Collins asked his two children.
"I am probably going to be studying." Rachel said.
"They have a school room for Mia. So I plan on dropping her off and taking a look at the shuttles." Adam said, cutting up some more pasta for Mia.
"She'll enjoy that. Gives her a chance to meet other kids." Nicole said.
"It is beneficial for children to meet other children at a young age so they can learn about socializing." Rachel said, matter of factly.
"Don't blame me for her mother wanting to homeschool her." Adam said, defensively.
"I'm not. I am not against how you want to raise her. That is your choice. I just am giving you my professional opinion." Rachel said, pointing with her fork.
Adam just rolled his eyes. He has heard this too many times by his younger sister.
The next morning at 0800, Nicole and Admiral Collins were in the Conference Room along with Picard, Commander Riker, and the senior staff.
"As you all know whatever is being said in this room stays amongst us." Admiral Collins gestured at the senior staff. "Nicole is only here because she came into contact with one of them while serving on Newton."
"How did she come into contact, Admiral?" The android, Lieutenant Commander Data asked.
"Nicole, do you want to answer that?" Admiral Collins asked.
Nicole took a deep breath. She then rested her hands on the table and leaned forward. "I was fresh out of the Academy when theseā¦.things were infiltrating Starfleet. I was asked to go to the USS Newton to keep an eye on Captain Barnes. He had begun to make reckless decisions that almost cost us a war with the Romulans." Nicole explained.
"I know James personally. He's usually by the book type of man. He wouldn't randomly start a war with the Romulans." Picard said, slightly confused.
"That is why I was sent to his ship. He killed his wife of 10 years and told Starfleet that the Romulans did it. I also saw the gill thing coming out of his neck." Nicole said.
"You would've had to get close to him." Dr. Crusher said.
Nicole looked down. Her cheeks went red.
"You slept with him?" Counselor Troi stated.
Nicole looked back up. "Yes."
The whole room was silent. There was some shocked and confused faces. However there was a smile on a certain first officer's face.
"Was he good?" Commander Riker asked, smiling.
There was a bit of laughter which helped relax the situation.
"Look, I am not proud of it. I just want to put it behind me and move on. And no, Commander, he was not. He wasn't my type anyway." Nicole said.
"So here is what we know. They sent a message out. We were able to track it. However, we will have to go to The Rosa Cluster." Admiral Collins said, bringing everyone's attention to the current situation.
"The Rosa Cluster." Picard said.
"Ships have been lost there on numerous occasions." Worf said.
"Yes this is why not only is the Enterprise going, but also the USS Yukon." Admiral Collins said.
Nicole's eyes went wide. Christian. She thought.
"Yes Nikki, you'll get to see your boyfriend." Admiral Collins said, smiling and rolling his eyes.
Admiral Collins then turned everyone's attention to the viewscreen. Nicole stole a glance at the telepathic counselor.
"Boyfriend?" Troi asked, telepathically.
"Yes mother. Boyfriend. Just don't tell dad." Nicole said, telepathically.
She then looked at the viewscreen. Keeping her mind off of a certain commanding officer on the Yukon.
Nicole was one of the officers meeting the Yukon's Captain. She served on the ship as an Engineer so it was only appropriate that she met her captain. However, it would've been better if she didn't have a certain first officer here.
A dark skinned, jet black haired, and green eyed man materialized in the transporter room.
"Nicole!" Captain Christian Jones smiled, excitedly.
He sped off the transporter pad to give the young Lieutenant a big hug.
"Hi Captain." She said, hugging her captain back.
Although Nicole's telepathic abilities weren't as strong as her mother's, her extensive training helped her be able to sense some of the crew. She could sense the confusion coming off of the first officer. Only if he knew.
Once she let go of her Captain, she hugged the first officer. "Hi Commander Orlando."
The first officer was shorter than the captain. About Picard's height. He was a blonde with blue-grey eyes. He had feelings for Nicole, but Nicole didn't date blondes.
Because of Nicole's idiotic father she preffered to date commanding officers. First officers or sometimes Captains. And they had to have dark almost black hair. The eye color didn't matter to her.
On the bridge, they were going over the tactical procedures when a console from behind them shot sparks. Nicole moved away from the group, ready to show her skills.
"There was a power surge." She said, tapping away at the console.
"Can you fix it?" Admiral Collins asked.
Nicole smiled. "One moment." She crouched down and checked the wiring with the panel underneath. Then she stood back up and tapped away at the console.
"You're an Engineer." Commander Riker said. It was like light bulbs went off in his head.
"Nicole's one of the best Engineers I have, Will." Christian said.
Nicole smiled again. Leave it to Christian to be proud of his girlfriend. He wasn't lying though, Nicole had the skills to be a Chief Engineer by now, but she didn't want the position. She wanted to stay where she was. She commanded a team once before on the Newton. And she hated every bit of it.
Nicole was able to get the problem solved. Of course it helped to have an Admiral giving her orders.
"There. I fixed it." Nicole said, smiling.
Later that day, Nicole was chilling in the shared quarters she had with her Captain on board the Yukon. She was sitting on the couch, reading the datapadd with the mission briefing on it. Both ships were heading that way in the morning.
Just then Christian walked in with the android and Captain Picard. Nicole didn't need to use her telepathic abilities. Just by Christian's expression, she knows what this was about.
"I told Mark to tell you, but he doesn't like to listen." Nicole said, smiling. "Why don't you sit down? This could take a bit."
Christian sat next to her on the sofa. Picard and Data sat in the chairs on the other side of the coffee table. Nicole noticed how tense the android was.
"Yes. My last name is Riker. I am the daughter of Deanna Troi and William T. Riker. However, I don't want my father to know who I am." Nicole said.
"May I ask why?" Data asked.
Nicole nodded. "He left when my mother was pregnant. I was told that his career was more important than me. So I grew up resenting him." Nicole said.
"Does he know he has a daughter?" Picard asked.
"Yes he does. I have a photo of him holding me when I was born. He even signed the birth certificate." Nicole said, looking away.
Christian took Nicole's hand in his. He looked at Picard and Data. "Please keep this a secret, Jean-Luc. It's hard enough for her to work alongside him in this mission." Christian said.
"Captain, I need you to understand that he broke my heart. How can you look at a sweet baby girl and walk away?" Nicole pleaded with tears in her eyes.
"I understand. I will keep it quiet. Commander." Picard looked at Data. "I suggest you do the same." He said.
Data nodded his head. "Yes sir." Data's yellow eyes drifted to Nicole's baby blues.
"Eventually you will have to tell him. I mean you do look so much like him." Picard said.
"I have been told that I do. The only thing I inherited from my mother is her telepathic abilities and curly hair." Nicole said.
"Curious, I thought Betazoids who are one quarter or less do not have telepathic abilities." Data asked, puzzled.
Nicole chuckled a little. "Yes, but I went through extensive training when I got mine. So I would have some. I am able to read some species. Which is why I am used for this mission."
"Hmm." Data said.
"That also explains the baby blues. Nicole is one of the rare ones that got the human eye color." Christian said, smiling. He pecked Nicole lightly on the lips.
"I guess you also don't want him to know you are dating a captain." Picard asked, laughing a little.
Nicole chuckled again. She shook her head.
