Chapter 11

"The final event before we take a break!" The broadcaster announced as some girls patted Isago on the shoulder, giggling as Isago flashed them a small smile.

"This race is the main event! Players will race around the track while completing the tasks placed in front of them! First is the 50-meter sprint with obstacles! Then the bread jumping contest! After that is the jumping pole! Then the sandbag aiming, and finally the water challenge!"

Isago stood up, walking forwards before the announcement suddenly changed his tone.

"Oya? What's this? Class C's getting into a fight with Class B?"

Isago's eyes instantly flashed to Tsuna's class B and saw Tsuna shriek about it wasn't his doing. No one seemed to care though.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Apparently, Class C's leader has been missing! And the culprit seems to come from Class B!"

Class C's member's hollered out their complaints until Gokudera pulled out his dynamites, flashing dangerously before Yamamoto held Gokudera back and laughed. Tsuna paled by the minute, listening to all the complaints before couching down to avoid the bottles of water being thrown at him.

Gokudera roared, this time Yamamoto was also getting serious before the announcer hollered through the mic.

"Class C's representative will now be replaced by Ky-Kyoya Hibari! Players! Please gather at the start line! NOW!"

The classes instantly fell silent as Hibari walked to the starting line with a grin and twinkling eyes aimed at Isago. Isago tore his gaze off of Hibari then at Reborn who was now smirking behind Tsuna's class.

'Aye...Reborn created this situation, didn't he?'

Tsuna was kicked onto the field by Reborn the moment he started hesitating. Afterwards, Tsuna slowly crept towards the starting line as Hibari's smirk deepened.

"The herbivore takes his first steps, huh?"

"Hieeee!"

The representatives for each class positioned themselves. Tsuna was directly beside Isago as the countdown started. This game was worth 100 points in total, being the most entertaining event out of all. Isago turned his head towards his brother, knowing that Reborn would probably set off a dying will bullet at Tsuna.

"No hard feelings, okay brother?" Isago smiled. Before Tsuna could even reply, the gunshot echoed through the sky as Isago bolted off, leaving Tsuna gaping in the dust.

Isago kept his pace before hearing Hibari's footsteps behind him on the left. Smirking once, Isago waited for Hibari to catch up before dashing off again and pulling the distance. In front of Isago, there was the hanging bread. Being the first, Isago jumped up, using his own weight to pull down the bread inside the wrapped plastic and landed on the ground.

Years of training with stamina didn't go by as nothing. Darting forwards again, Isago heard Hibari's grunt behind him, as the black-haired boy slid out his tonfas and cut the rope, successfully snatching the bread then throwing it aside on the ground. A player tripped on the bread that Hibari threw, tumbling into the stands.

"Class A1 is in the lead! Hibari-san right behind him!"

Isago's eyes flickered to the distance he pulled between his brother and him, making sure that even with the dying bullet, Tsuna wouldn't be able to catch up. But it wasn't enough. Hibari passed Isago, visible sweat rolling off his neck as he grinned victoriously, only to be suppressed by Isago again. Isago was beginning to feel the stress in his legs build-up while his breath quickened.

20 meters in front of them, Isago could see 8 poles on the ground, springs attached to them and a checkpoint further in the distance to indicate when they could stop the pole jumping. Isago swiped one of the poles, hopping on them before trying to make his way to the checkpoint.

It was a lot slower than he had thought.

Hibari behind him just rushed forwards, not even picking up the pole.

"Hey!" Isago yelled before stomping harder on his pole, sticking to the rules before pointing at Hibari.

"It seems...as if Hibari-san doesn't want to jump on the pole...Hibari-san, you do know that's cheating-"

The black-haired boy threw the broadcasting members a dirty look before raising his tonfas.

"...And class A1 has now fallen in second place! Class B has finally got the bread and is running like his life depends on it!"

Isago grumbled before the announcement of other classes rang through the broadcast as he reached the checkpoint, throwing the pole down and beelining after Hibari. Honestly, Isago wanted to throw down the pole the moment Hibari passed him but the fact was that Isago wasn't Hibari.

He didn't have the authority to pardon his own way of cheating. If he threw down his pole, he could be automatically disqualified. And he did not want to risk that since the rules specifically stated that 'the player must jump on the pole the whole time and reach the checkpoint.' No loopholes there.

"Isago! Isago! Isago!"

He could hear his own class cheering for him like crazy.

Hibari was at the sandbag toss, stuck on his fifth aim before Isago huffed, his shirt's collar being soaked. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Tsuna was getting closer to them, and that was not good. Isago pulled off his shirt, scooping twenty sandbags and whirling them into the tall basket labelled A1 before dashing off again.

He was literally running half-naked right now. He heard girls scream from his class as the broadcasting people opened the mic again.

"I'm not sure if that counts as cheating since there were no specific rules that said you couldn't do that-but holy geez, class A1 representative! Do you work out or something?!"

"EXTREME!"

"Hey! Give me that back-"

"Isago! You're freaking EXTREME! That's EXTREMELY COOL! EXTREME-"

Ryohei's voice was cut out of the speakers.

Isago glanced downwards at his own chest before flashing the audience a quick shrug then pushing forwards again, only to hear the shriek of his brother, then the famous, "I WILL RUN WITH MY DYING WILL!"

'Ah shit, and the main character is here,' Isago thought bitterly as he looked back to see Hibari also darting his eyes behind him, seeing a naked Tsuna with his heart-shaped boxers rush towards the first and second at a mind shrieking pace.

"Bro, calm your boxers!" Isago screamed before pushing himself further apart from Hibari, and Hibari sticking to him more persistently like glue.

"Beat Isago with my dying will!" Tsuna howled before using super-speed to throw multiple balls into his own basket and scrambling onto his feet again.

"Woah! Now class A and B are both naked! I heard that they were brothers! Could it be that they both have a kink for exhibition?!"

Isago smacked his own forehead, accidentally letting Hibari pass him before they reached the final water challenge where floating boxes were tied to life lines that led to the finish line. Hibari leaped on one, wobbling sideways before stepping on another. Isago also jumped on his line, hearing Tsuna's yowl right behind him. Tsuna thrust himself out of the run and leaped onto the boxes, splashing his feet as he made his own way across.

"Oh no you don't!" Isago gritted his teeth and flared up his own flame into his feet. For the past few weeks he wasn't lounging around and only completing Reborn's tasks. He was also practicing daily on his flame.

Currently, he was able to keep his flame for five seconds.

With a brush of power, Isago wrenched himself from his own spot and his eyes flared red, burning with his resolution to get the 100 points for himself.

Five.

The boxes under his feet bobbed as he jumped within seconds.

Four.

Tsuna kept his pace, not realizing that the threat was behind him.

Three.

'I will not allow anyone to beat me!

Two.

Isago growled.

"W-what the heck! Class A and Class B are finishing the race-"

In the last second, Isago surpassed Tsuna, slapping his shoes onto the last box and flung himself onto the pool deck's finish line as he tumbled onto the floor, heaving in exhaustion as his eyes returned to their normal colour. Tsuna arrived a second later, slamming himself into the fence like a wrecking ball before falling completely unconscious.

"C-Class A has won the game!"

Sighing in relief, Isago closed his eyes and basked himself in the cheers.

Goddamn. That was tiring.

(⊙ω⊙)

Reborn watched the two brothers face down at the last obstacle event before slowly blinking, actually not knowing who would win. Tsuna was under the effects of the dying will, so it was supposed to be obvious, but Reborn also knew that Isago wouldn't just let Tsuna win like that.

"Oh no you don't!"

Suddenly, a burst of two flames ignited as Isago pushed himself further at a faster speed, forcing Reborn's mouth to twitch.

"Ragazzo," Reborn murmured under his breath before turning around to head back to the picnic table.

"...Looks like I've underestimated you again."

also, I might add that OC will start to turn a bit dark.
