Conan just look down as he grits his teeth in surprised by his big brother's pointing him as the culprit. Ran look at Conan and Shinichi together but before Ran say something, Conan stop her from saying anything and just give an unidentified smile

"How did you figure it out?" asked Conan as he stands up
"I never told anyone the details of that last date and the fact that the keyword is Jurisdiction it confirms everything. Because it's the day when both of us agree on each jurisdiction to which no one, even Ran knows about it"
"As expected… That's right Niichan… It was me"

Shinichi just look at him in sad look and his thoughts filled with many questions on why would his little brother do this to all of them

"Why… why you do this?! Why you even make Ran and Mouri-ojiisan involved, if you have a grudge on me then hit me! You don't have to use anyone else!" shout Shinichi angry to Conan

Conan just look away without looking at his big brother's angry face either his eyes. Ran hold her mouth by the situation since Shinichi never got this furious to Conan before, even at Tropical Land accident, he's just angry due to taken back by Conan's anger but this time it's pure anger on his little brother. Conan grit his teeth and squeeze his sleeves and then sigh with regret

"The truth is… I-"

Before Conan finish his words, suddenly a glass wall divided the room into three which make all of them separated to each other. Shinichi got the biggest room while Ran and Conan got an equal room. All of them tap on the glass to each other in shock and confused

"Ran! Conan! Are you two okay?" asked Shinichi worried
"A-ahh I'm fine…" said Conan as he look around
"What is happening?" asked Ran as she look around

Suddenly a white gas comes out from the ventilation from each room. Shinichi tried not to breath but he can't hold it so he fell down to the floor while looking at Ran and Conan's room. Moments later, he passed out

Time Skip~

"Kudou-kun! Kudou-kun!"

Shinichi open his eyes in confuse, as his eyes adjust, he sees Takagi in front of him

"Keibu, Kudou-kun is waking up!" shout Takagi
"Kudou-kun! I'm glad you are awake" said Inspector Megure in low voice as he comes to him

Shinichi look around and see both Ran and Conan lying on the ground. Shinichi call out both of them but was stop by the Inspector who calm him down. Shinichi see that the doctor is examining Ran closely and moments later goes to Conan who's not wearing his glasses

"I'm sorry but both of them are dead" said the doctor

Those words shock all of them in that place especially the high schooler. Shinichi is like being hit by thousands of soccer balls as the doctor said those words about both the girl that he loves and the little brother he cherishes

"For the moment, the cause of the death is unknown. After an autopsy, I think we'll find out something" said the doctor
"Right away please…" said Inspector Megure in low voice

"Wait a moment! No.. No… NO! THEY'RE NOT DEAD!" shout Shinichi
"Calm down, Kudou-kun!" shout Inspector Megure as Takagi hold into the high schoolers body

The examiner team quickly put both of them in a stretcher and put them inside the ambulance. Shinichi who was being hold by Takagi can only shout in anger

"Ran! Conan!" shout Shinichi in verge of crying
"I understand how you feel Kudou-kun but for both Ran and Conan right now, you have to tell us everything you know!" said Inspector Megure serious as holding his shoulders

Shinichi just look at the Inspector in shock and tired eyes. He looks at both Ran and Conan again and tried to go to them but Takagi and Sato who just arrives after looking through the crime scene hold him off and force him to go inside the police car. Inspector Megure stayed for a moment leaving Shinichi to both Takagi and Sato

Time Skip~

At Police Headquarters

Shinichi walk with both Sato and Takagi near him since he's quite weak to walk. Shinichi use this chance to ask them about the place where they were found

"Was there anything suspicious at the crime scene?" asked Shinichi serious
"Crime scene?" asked Takagi
"The place where three of us are found"
"That reminds me, the ground around where Ran and Conan were found was a little wet" said Sato
"Wet?"
"I think you three were carried there from somewhere else after you had lost consciousness. But the condition of the body doesn't match of someone who had drowned"

Shinichi start to think seriously until moments later, he wants to throw up. Takagi quickly take him to the nearest toilet for him to throw up. Takagi calm him down by told him that they will help him find out Ran and Conan's killer. Shinichi notice that there's no toilet paper on his stall so he wants to use his handkerchief until suddenly he found a note

"How disappointing, Great Detective.
You forgot something important at the scene of the crime"

Shinichi shock as he read it so he quickly took chances to run away from Takagi who's washing his hands. Takagi quickly report to Sato about it and they told their team to find Shinichi. Shinichi run away with his might until suddenly a limousine stops in front of him which to be Sonoko

"Shinichi-kun! What are you doing here?" asked Sonoko surprised seeing her childhood friend
"Sonoko… Perfect timing! I need you to take me to Beika Marina, please" said Shinichi begging her
"Eh?"

Suddenly they heard police sirens near to which Shinichi quickly hide by Sonoko's limousine. Sonoko was surprise by his act

"Shinichi-kun… You were chased by the police?! What is going on?!" asked Sonoko start to worry
"Please Sonoko… You have to trust me, I'm begging you" said Shinichi serious

Sonoko hesitated for a moment but then she nods to him and they go to Beika Marina, where Shinichi was found by the police. Shinichi borrow Sonoko's phone and quickly dial Professor Agasa

Time Skip~

They arrive to Beika Marina. Shinichi look around from the limousine and didn't see any police officers anywhere

"Thank you for believing me Sonoko…" said Shinichi thanking her
"You're my friend Shinichi-kun, I don't know what is going on but… Once it's done, you have to told me first before the news okay" said Sonoko worried
"Don't worry, you will be my priority on who to call"

Shinichi goes out from the limousine and goes to the place where he was found. He look and found the crime scene of Ran and Conan's body. He look devastated as he remembered Conan's face as he was brought by the examiner team to the ambulance. Suddenly someone tap his shoulder to which Shinichi fast reacted by pulling him to in front of him and to the ground. As he sees closer, it turns out to be Kogoro

"Baka! It's me! Stop that" shout Kogoro angrily
"Mouri-ojiisan! Sorry, are you okay!?" asked Shinichi panic as he helps him stand
"Ahh… if I had known this, I shouldn't tell you some of the Judo moves"
"Besides that, how did you get out from that place?"
"I don't know… I lost consciousness at the time we were separated. When I woke up, I found myself sleeping on the bench in the park near here… Beside me, there was a letter telling me to come and meet all of you here. When I arrived… the police already comes around"

Kogoro remembers when he sees his daughter was taken to the ambulance to which make him angry and sad. Kogoro quickly pull Shinichi by holding his shoulders

"It's a lie right… It's an absolute lie that Ran is dead, right!" shout Kogoro angrily

Shinichi look away and let Kogoro get angry at him by the fact

"Oi answer me detective brat! My daughter… Why would my daughter have to die! Answer me!"
"I don't know too Occhan!" shout Shinichi back angrily

Kogoro was surprised by Shinichi's anger to him and the fact he just called him Occhan which is rare for him to call him that

"Detective brat…"
"You didn't notice something off… Why I'm alone here… Why is there two body marks in this crime scene!"

Kogoro look to the crime scene and see what Shinichi means, there was a body mark of an adult and a child. The fact that not only Ran that was pronounced dead but also Shinichi's little brother, Conan was pronounced dead right in front of him.

"You didn't see that there's another ambulance right…" said Shinichi holding his tears from coming out
"I'm… I'm sorry…"

Shinichi look away and notice a phone near the border which to be Ran's phone

"This is… Ran's phone!" said Shinichi as he holds it
"Ran's?!" shout Kogoro as he goes closer
"It's cold…"

Shinichi then remembers right before he passed out, he sees that the glass between him and both Ran and Conan was clouded. He remembers that Sato told him that nearby Ran and Conan's body was very wet

"Flash-freezing!" shout Shinichi
"Eh?" asked Kogoro surprised
"The culprit must have only flash-froze the room where both Ran and Conan was in… It possible that both of them are still alive!"
"What?! Are you sure?!"

Suddenly the phone rings and as Shinichi look at the screen which shows the name 'True Criminal' on it and so Shinichi accept the call

"Hello…" said Shinichi
"Kudou Shinichi… I shall give you one piece of information, Mouri Ran and Edogawa Conan's autopsy have been set for today at 4 PM" said the culprit on the phone
"Eh?!"
"That's one hour from now… Can you get your love and your relative back with your own hand?"

The culprit close the phone and then both Shinichi and Kogoro look at each other serious. They quickly run to the front of Beika Marina which there was Professor Agasa and Haibara waiting for them

"Professor! Take us to the police headquarters, hurry!" shout Shinichi

With that Professor take them to the police headquarters and Shinichi told them everything that happen to him, Kogoro, Ran and Conan. Haibara who hears it become serious

"I read about flash-freezing long time ago and there were cases that they can revive someone but they have to be defrosted properly" said Haibara serious looking at Shinichi
"Defrosted properly?!" asked Kogoro
"They have to be in the right temperature… If anything goes wrong… They will surely die"

Shinichi look serious as Haibara says it. When they arrived, both Shinichi and Kogoro rush inside with a disguise so no police officers recognize them. They quickly run to the autopsy room and when they arrive, they see two bed capsules which have both Ran and Conan in it. Shinichi quickly goes to Conan while Kogoro goes to Ran. They tried to open the capsule but it was locked

Suddenly the screen beside Ran's capsule shows a date which exactly like when they were trapped in the white room. Shinichi look at the date and start to get confused

"Oi detective brat, what case is this?" asked Kogoro
"It's a murder case that took place in a cold storage warehouse of a home delivery company. When both of us are called by Megure-keibu!"
"Ah I remember now…"
"I know the case but I don't know the keyword for it…"

Suddenly Shinichi remembers the doctor who examine both Ran and Conan which is the same as the one who examine the victim of that case

"Occhan! Did you remember the doctor's name that time?!" asked Shinichi
"I met him several times at crime scenes… It was… Hirata… Hirata Hajime!"

Shinichi quickly type the name into the screen to which both capsule opens. Shinichi quickly goes to Conan's capsule and see that it was not his little brother but a mannequin instead. Shinichi got angry as he hit the capsule but when he sees Ran's capsule, it was indeed Ran inside it and not a mannequin. Kogoro on the other hand quickly took his daughter out from the capsule and put him on his arms

"Ran! Oi Ran hold on!" shout Kogoro

Moments later, Ran wakes up to which glad Kogoro and Shinichi who goes beside them

"Dad… Shinichi" said Ran weakly
"Ran… Thank goodness you're alright" said Kogoro relief that his daughter is alive
"Um… Where's Conan-kun?"
"He's still not found" said Shinichi in low voice
"Shinichi… I'm sorry… Conan-kun didn't do anything wrong, he protected me!"
"Eh?" asked both Kogoro and Shinichi surprised

"She's right Kudou Shinichi"

Suddenly someone comes out from the room which to be the doctor that examine Ran and Conan earlier, Hirata Hajime. Just as Shinichi get ready to attack, Hirata take out a remote control from his pockets

"I wouldn't do that if I were you. To keep a person in a state of apparent death… It's essential to have a delicate control over their temperature. When I press this button, that temperature control will be suspended. Then somewhere in this room, Edogawa Conan will die"

Shinichi look shock and fear at the same time hearing what the doctor just said. Conan will die if he does something reckless to which make him can't control his emotions. He now understands why he put Ran in a capsule to which she has different temperature control for defrosting her body

"That's it, that's the face I want to see Kudou Shinichi. That pathetic look of misery when you knew you had lost!" shout Hirata angrily

"I'm sorry Shinichi…" said Ran crying
"Ran…" said Kogoro
"If only Conan-kun didn't accidentally found us then he… he…"
"What do you mean Ran? What are you talking about" asked Shinichi confused
"Oh please, do I need to explain this… right, my initial plan was to make Mouri Ran be my assistant but that brat suddenly appear" said Hirata

Flashback

At Mouri Detective Agency

"Ran-neechan! Ojiisan is asleep on… the…" said Conan as he open the door

Conan stop his words as a man with hat, sunglasses and mask is holding a knife toward Ran. Conan instantly about to unleash his soccer ball from the belt but Ran stops him

"Stop Conan-kun! Don't do it!" shout Ran begging
"Eh?!" asked Conan surprise as he stops pushing the soccer belt button
"Ohohoho what is this, I don't know you have a little bro- wait a minute, you're Kudou Shinichi's relative!" said the man smirking
"No! don't get Conan-kun involve in this!" shout Ran angrily

Ran look at Conan who's serious. Conan quickly comes in front of Ran as if protecting her from the man. The man of course steps back from him

"Who are you!" shout Conan angrily
"Hm! Okay then little boy"

The man take off his mask and sunglasses which to be Hirata Hajime and he look at both of them with menacing aura. Conan look at him closely and suddenly he remembers when looking through his big brother's case files that Inspector Megure give to him before since Shinichi ask about it

"You're… Hirata Hajime!" said Conan surprised
"Oh, you know about me? I'm surprised since from what I know, you move with Kudou Shinichi just a year ago and we never meet each other" said Hirata smirking
"I read Shinichi-niichan's file of cases yesterday… I have good memory"
"Conan-kun… please don't get involved even further, just get out from here" said Ran while bend down hugging Conan from behind

Conan was shock seeing how fragile Ran to Hirata which make him even angrier since he knows to the very core that Ran is a very strong girl so she's not an easy girl to get hurt physically or mentally

"Ran-neechan… What did you do to her!"
"Oohh do you want to involve little boy. Because it is involved with your older relative, Kudou Shinichi"
"Eh…"
"No! Conan-kun I-" said Ran but was stop by Conan as he look to Ran and glare at her
"Ran-neechan, if Shinichi-niichan is involved, I can't just let this slide. You're hurt so at least give me half of it because if Shinichi-niichan is involved then I must be involved too"
"But what he asks me is too big… You're too young to get involved"
"What are you saying Ran-neechan, you know my secret right… If you're this scared then he must have terror you right…"
"Conan-kun… I'm sorry…"

Hirata just surprise by the boy's deduction and smirk happily as he said that

"You're really amazing, as expected from the one who live with Kudou Shinichi. Yes, I kidnapped Mouri Ran's mother, Kisaki Eri! If she didn't do what I said, oh let's just say she might never see her again" said Hirata
"No! Please don't do anything to mom!" shout Ran crying
"Bastard… you're worst for using Eri-obaasan" said Conan angrily as he protects Ran
"Ah ah, all you have to do is do what I said okay. Don't worry, it will not life-threating to Kudou Shinichi since I want him to be alive"

Conan glare at him and didn't believe anything on what he said about making sure that his big brother is okay with all of this since he deliberately uses Eri to make Ran to do what he says which is not okay

"Why are you doing this, how can I trust you not to hurt Shinichi-niichan and Ran-neechan" said Conan glaring
"You have my full trust, I promise not to kill either of them. I have grudge against that high school detective and I only want revenge. For making me suffer and yet he didn't remember me…"
"Niichan… what did you do this time" thought Conan looking away
"So, what it's going to be little boy"

Conan glare at him angrily but then he look at Ran who's letting out tears on her eyes which hurt him, very hurt him… since he loves Ran very much so he sigh

"What do I have to do?" said Conan in low voice holding his anger over the doctor

Back to present

Shinichi eyes change from panic to anger in instant as how Hirata got Conan caught up with this and how he made Ran go through that.

"But I don't understand, how in the world you got us inside that white room in the first place" said Kogoro confused
"It was easy, it's your daughter and your relative- oh no… what I mean is your little brother's work" said Hirata smirking
"Eh?!" shout Shinichi and Kogoro shock

Ran look down in regret as Hirata told them. Kogoro look at Ran who's showing guilty look which anger him even more

"I'm sorry… I was asked to put sleeping pill on your coffee, dad…" said Ran feeling bad
"What?!" shout Kogoro shock to his daughter
"Conan must have put mine on the hot chocolate the night before… Man! He fooled me completely" thought Shinichi pissed

Shinichi shows look of surprised to Hirata as he realized the fact that the doctor knows his relationship with Conan is not a relative but brothers

"How did you know… about Conan"
"It was fairly easy to find out if you're a doctor and also a medical examiner. I got a lot of data, I just need to get the boy's DNA and it shows him as the youngest son of the Kudou family, Kudou Conan" said Hirata smirking

Hirata walk away from three of them with the remote on his hand. Shinichi look at Ran whose still weak due to flash-freeze and Kogoro who's angry at the culprit

"Where's Kisaki-sensei?!" asked Shinichi angrily
"She's staying quietly on the yacht 'New Orient' anchored in Honmokufuto. She hasn't been hurt, about all she has is some seasickness" said Hirata laugh at their misery

Shinichi was very pissed but not as much as Kogoro who already got angry by all of this. Ran just hold her father's clothes worried about her mother and Conan

"I was going to use Mouri Ran since it was fairly easy to use her but… much to my surprised that she has a little knight. That boy really put his body and mind protecting Mouri Ran so my thoughts goes to him immediately, why bother using the childhood friend if you can just use the little brother. Well I did promise him not to kill neither of you or Mouri Ran… but I didn't promise that I will not kill him" said Hirata as he laughs his mind out over his winning
"You bastard…" said Kogoro angrily
"Hm! I had been told I was certain to be the next President of Tokyo's Health Sciences University as an elite doctor. I had also contributed to cases as medical examiner which had led to criminal arrests. However, due to that cold storage warehouse case… Both my career and honor were completely ruined"

Hirata glare at Shinichi who's angry, sad, panic and worried at the same time which make Hirata just smile at his victory

"While ago… I meet you by chance but… you don't even remember me. You ruined my life and the fact you forgot about me makes me even angrier!" shout Hirata right in front of Shinichi's face
"That's why you make that white room and made me recall those cases from my past…" said Shinichi in low voice angrily
"I want to test and see how much you remember cases that you have been through… Those cases were all submitted by Mouri Ran-san and of course, Kudou Conan-kun"
"What?!"
"For your little brother cases, I force him to tell the case that leave an impact on him since living with you, he must have stumbled a lot of cases. I also know he forces himself to take the blame by giving a personal case that only you and him know"

Shinichi took step back to the wall and look down with his eyes cover his bangs and his teeth grits by the revelation. Conan must have purposely used that personal case as an SOS for him. Since the basic of that case is force himself to do something that is not how he do which means he was force to do the white room by someone

"Conan… He was giving me a sign yet I let my anger go through me" thought Shinichi as he hold his hair in anger
"Do you feel regret? On how your detective works ruined life not only me but your own little brother?"
"This isn't regret" said Shinichi in low voice

Shinichi looks up to him and step forward with face full of anger

"I'm angry to you! You took advantage of Ran's gentle heart and Conan's feeling of justice you bastard!" shout Shinichi as he steps forward facing Hirata
"You hear that! The 'New Orient' in Honmokufuto, please hurry!" shout Kogoro to Ran's phone strap

Hirata was confused by both of their acts until suddenly he felt two guns pointing on his head which to be from Takagi and Sato. Inspector Megure walk right behind them

"Hirata Hajime! You are under arrest for kidnapping and attempted murder!" shout Inspector Megure loudly
"What is this?!" asked Hirata shock
"I notice you put a wiretap on Ran's strap so we took advantage of it since your wiretap is using a radio waves" said Shinichi
"Professor Agasa told us everything and Ai-kun give us the radio wave code so we can hear everything" said Inspector Megure
"We already get help from the local police to find Kisaki-san!" shout Sato
"Damn!" shout Hirata angrily

Hirata use his knife to get away from Takagi and Sato and he raises the remote high

"I will press it!" shout Hirata
"Baka! That's dangerous!" shout Kogoro shock
"Occhan! Get away!" shout Shinichi

Shinichi take a bottle from one of the table and kick it right to Hirata's hand to which Sato quickly apprehend him and handcuffed him. Shinichi sigh but then he notices that the remote control was already pressed so he run like a crazy and search his little brother. He look around only find some adult corpses, he went through the end of the room and he finally sees the almost lifeless boy without his glasses lying down on the bed

"Conan!" shout Shinichi as he put Conan's head on his arm

Conan's head rested on Shinichi's chest sleeping with very pale face which make bad thoughts coming to his head

"Conan, don't scared me… Wake up… please" said Shinichi in low voice looking at his little brother's face

Shinichi just look at him on how pale his face right now which hurt him and the fact how cold Conan's skin is make Shinichi's hope lost

"I'm too late… am I?" thought Shinichi as he hug Conan's body in regret and squeezing the boy's body

Even though his eyes was cover by his bangs but tears fall down to his cheek shows that Shinichi is crying and blame himself on failing to protect his own brother from danger. Suddenly he heard a soft groan which he quickly loose his hug and look at Conan's face and he sees Conan's eyes shake and open slowly

"Conan!" shout Shinichi in worried

Conan open his eyes and look at Shinichi weakly, his sight trying to adjusted by the room and he realizes that in front of him is his big brother

"Shinichi… niichan…" said Conan weakly
"Conan… I'm glad… You open your eyes"

Shinichi face soften and all of his bad thoughts disappear after hearing his little brother's weak voice as a sign that he's alive and alright. Conan look at him closely as his own eyes start to let out tears since he sees Shinichi has some tears on his eyes

"Niichan… are you crying?" asked Conan in low voice
"Eh ah no… baka, you're the one who cries" said Shinichi as he wipes his own tears

Conan just look at his big brother in weak gaze but then he look down which surprise the high schooler

"I'm sorry… you're angry right?" asked Conan but Shinichi quickly shake his head with guilty look

"No… I'm angry to myself, it's unbearable. The fact that both you and Ran are alone in that white room and troubled in the entire time yet I didn't realize it… You hold a big responsibility protecting Ran and Kisaki-sensei and hide everything from me"
"Niichan…" said Conan as he look to his big brother's face
"You even act perfectly… I should have known when you rarely look to my eyes fearing that I hear your thoughts. And as for me who don't know your situation just got angry at you. I'm sorry… for making you go through all of this… I'm sorry" said Shinichi as he look down with his eyes got covered by his bangs

Conan just look silently on his big brother and notice the tears coming out from his eyes. Now he indeed gave his big brother fear of a lifetime. He regretted making his brother to look like this and he touches Shinichi's cheek and wipe his fallen tears from his eyes then Shinichi look to Conan again as he hold Conan's hand on his cheek

"I'm glad that you're okay, thank you so much for staying alive. Thank you…" said Shinichi as he put his forehead to Conan's forehead
"Niichan… I'm sorry for scaring you, I'm sorry" said Conan as he cries along with Shinichi

Time passed quite long as both of them crying to each other until Kogoro who have been there the whole time finally step forward and meet them. Shinichi let go his forehead and wipe his tears while Conan faces Kogoro in guilty

"Ojiisan… I'm sorry" said Conan in low voice
"It's fine, Ran and Eri are fine now. The police already take care of them so you don't have to worry. I will be going to take a look on Ran. You two better get out of here" said Kogoro with a small smile

Kogoro pat Conan's head as a thank you for protecting his wife and daughter before rush out from the room. Conan sighs in relief hearing the news and rest his head on Shinichi's chest. Shinichi just smile and then quickly lift him up to his arms and then look at him with soft smile

"We should get you to the hospital to check you up" said Shinichi
"Okay..."

On the way out, they walk slowly with Conan still in Shinichi's arms and he hold Shinichi's chest while resting his head on it. Shinichi put Conan very close to him which Conan let him

"Nee… Are you still going to continue being a detective?" asked Conan looking at his brother
"Yeah, I will continue. I have to shoulder my responsibility as a detective for each of the cases I solve. That's the thing I learn and understand today… Also from now on, I will always talk to you about everything and not hiding any cases I'm doing. That's my promise" said Shinichi look at his little brother

Conan look relief and rest his head on Shinichi's chest with a bright smile. Both of them arrive to the front and see Ran is sitting on the chair weakly but her eyes set on a boy in Shinichi's arms. She wants to stand up but Kogoro hold her to not restrain her energy

"Conan-kun!" shout Ran crying
"Ran-neechan…" said Conan with relief look

Shinichi goes in front of Ran and put Conan on Ran's lap. Shinichi knows that Ran want to hug Conan so much to which she quickly did it. Conan hug Ran back with his hands on Ran's neck

"Conan-kun… I'm glad you're okay… I'm sorry for putting you through this, I'm sorry for making you lie to Shinichi and protecting me" said Ran crying
"No Ran-neechan… It's not your fault, everything is fine now" said Conan with a soft smile
"Thank you, Conan-kun"

Shinichi sit down beside Kogoro and Kogoro put his hand on his shoulder to calm him down since the sleeping detective know how scared Shinichi is by the events that happen today. Shinichi smile and look at the boy who's now comforting Ran

"I will not let this happen again… I promise" thought Shinichi serious and smile since it was all over now

Time Skip~

At the hospital

Ran is now with Sonoko who rushes over after hear that her best friend is admitted there. Of course, as Shinichi promise her, she gets the information right before the news get out so she rush to Ran's side. Ran told her everything that happen throughout the day

"So that what happens… the brat and Shinichi-kun really protecting you" said Sonoko

Ran look to the windows and see the night sky

Sonoko then sigh and hit Ran's head a little to calm her senses

"What are you saying Ran, of course it is since that glasses brat is in fact Shinichi-kun's little brother. Shinichi-kun is really overprotective toward him but that brat himself also invites trouble. But he also cares for all people around him no matter how freak he is to mysteries. You can't give up just because you can't get as close to where that brat is in Shinichi-kun's heart" said Sonoko with a smile
"Sonoko…"
"Now you have to get better for school and upcoming Karate championship. You will win that trophy!"
"Hehehe okay okay"

In the other room

Conan is now asleep in the hospital bed with Shinichi sitting right beside him. Shinichi just hold his hand looking at him very serious and sometimes he pat his hair. Suddenly someone enter the room which to be Ran with a wheelchair

"Shinichi…"
"Ah Ran, what the doctor said?" asked Shinichi as he stand up help Ran going closer to Conan's bed
"I just need to rest for a day since I was rescued immediately after that… how's Conan-kun?"
"Same, the doctor said that Conan is lucky to be rescue in time… if not, there's a chance for him to fall into deep comatose. That bastard really intend to kill Conan"
"Shinichi… I'm sorry"

Shinichi look at Ran who's feeling guilty over what happen so the high schooler just pat her head which surprise the girl

"Ran, it's not your fault. That bastard initial plan was to get you since you're my childhood friend so it should be me who's in wrong. I should have been more careful on cases that I solve. I'm sorry Ran for making you go through it"
"Shinichi…"

Shinichi stands up and goes right in front of Ran with a smile on his face comforting his childhood friend

"As an apology, maybe I should take you and Sonoko anywhere you like. My treat" said Shinichi
"Really!? You meant it?"
"Of course, but after you get better okay"
"Thank you Shinichi!"

Little did they know that the boy open his one eye to see the scene and then smile seeing his big brother who smiles in front of Ran. He is glad that everything is over now and so he goes back to the sleep with comfort
