Chapter ten.
Bella's POV.
I heard my ringtone and pulled out my cell, it was on low volume so that it wouldn't wake Charlie.
"Yeah?" I answered hesitantly as it was my mothers number, only it wasn't my mother that answered me, although it could have been. Whoever it was was using a voice changer.
"$500,000 for the girl." The automated voice said.
"Who is this?" I asked, but didn't expect an answer, although the realization of what was going on seemed to smack me in the windpipe. Thinking that that black, Mercedes, SUV had been nothing more than my imagination. It had actually been following me and now the devils spawn that was my biological egg donor was responsible for my daughter being kidnapped.
"You might not care what I do to your mother but you have just four hours to bring my $500,000 or the girl dies." It said, before the line cut out.
My chest tightened and I stared across to Edward as he ran towards me, seconds after the phone went dead a text came through.
Mom. BRING THE MONEY TO THE FIRST GAS STATION ON THE 101 SOUTH. COME ALONE, NO POLICE. LEAVE THE MONEY IN THE RESTROOM. ONCE WE HAVE THE MONEY WE WILL TEXT YOU THE LOCATION OF THE GIRL.
These people do not know who they are fucking with, the police might not have had time to trace the call. But then Seth was able to tell where the phone was before it was switched off with a find my phone app online. They were in one of the holiday cabins in La Push, so I sure as shit wasn't waiting around for hours for the police to arrange a strike force. Or spend hours trying to find the ransom money, I had donned my weapons and was walking out to the car before anyone noticed that I was missing. Unfortunately, Edward caught me and demanded that he go with me, well at least he didn't attempt to stop me.
The journey to La Push was a quiet one, I had nothing to say as I was mentally preparing myself for this mission. I couldn't think about it being Senna, if I did that I would fall apart, I already loved that little girl so much, I had to take her out of the equation. I wasn't here to negotiate my daughter's release, I was here to take out the people involved in kidnapping her.
"Whatever happens, you go in and you get our Baby girl, get her out and to safety, do not come back for me, do you understand?" I asked him.
"Yes."
"Promise me." I insisted.
"I promise, I will get her out and keep her safe." He promised.
I pulled onto the verge, we would have to finish the journey on foot through the woods. I had some handy tools in my backpack that would work all to well on a wooden cabin. Being a very typical day in Washington, the weather was cool and wet, perfect for what I wanted.
Hidden by the trees, we stopped to survey the building, we were to the back of the property and the black SUV was parked undercover. I pulled out the heat-seeker from my backpack, it showed me that there were six people in total inside, they were all in the same room. We made our way around to the side of the property, where there were no windows. I instructed Edward to count to fifteen then go in the backdoor and get Senna out, he nodded and I made my way to the front door as I took out two weapens. Jake and I had used to play in these cabins, so I knew the layout and the best way to smash the door open.
I kicked in the door and got off four shots with my two Glock 26 Gen 4 9mm's, before anyone had reached for a weapon. Edward grabbed Senna trying to cover her ears from the loud bangs of the guns, as he ran back out the door, two of the kidnappers that I had only tagged, reached for weapons. I hit them both in the gut as I knew it would hurt more and would be slow to heal. My mother ran towards me screaming, "no don't shoot them!" And fearing for my life and that of my family, I tagged her in the shoulder for good measure, there is a distinct possibility that there was a lifetime of resentment behind that shot. But it was awfully good therapy for me too, I could walk away from her now, in the knowledge that I owe her nothing and I've left her with two small scars to represent the lifelong scar that she had inflicted on me. It was a through and through, no biggy, but twenty seconds and it was all over. I restrained two of them and was just moving to the third when the police finally arrived. I left them to it and went outside to find my daughter.
Senna was wrapped around Edward's neck when I found them in the woods, she kept repeating the same few words.
"You came for me, you came for me." She muttered into his neck, Edward shushed her and stroked her hair.
"We will always come for you Angel, always!" He reassured her.
I placed my hand on her shoulder. "Senna, Sweetheart, they didn't hurt you did they?" I asked as she swung around and dived into my waiting arms, she didn't speak, she just shook her head.
"I don't like Grandma." Senna informed us.
"That's okay, you never have to see her again." I assured her, what the hell had that woman been saying? She certainly doesn't have the right to call herself grandma.
We gave our statements and took our Baby girl home.
Epilogue.
EPOV
Never figured that I would be as content with my life as I have been for the last few years, I am happier than I ever thought possible and more in love than anyone has the right to be. Bella and I have now been married for four years, Senna is now nine, Zaffy, seven and Charlie is five. Their official adoptions were filed the day after our wedding and we have managed to make their lives so rich and full of love that they don't even remember their former lives. Senna had nightmares for a while but filling her life with so much love and education that they too soon became a thing of the past. We share every aspect of our lives with our kids, involving them with all that we do. From our engagement to the baseball games that they come and watch me play, and all that, they share with our extended family.
Bella and I had taken the kids to a quiet meadow, where I proposed, it was also the place that we married, as did Paul and D, both of whom are like family to me now too. They also play on my basketball team along with Emmett and Jasper, all of which, with their families are now my extended family.
Bella was right about the hormone treatment she had during her military career, despite all our best efforts we were never able to conceive. But that never really concerned us that much as we already had three fantastic kids. They have more than taken to western life, a bit too well in some ways, they are very much Americans now. Not too bad as I've never really had to chastise any of them, all they really do is continue to make me proud. Can't moan about married life either, still get hard at the sight of my wife, she can still make me climax with a kiss and I don't ever think that I will ever get enough of her.
After Senna was kidnapped, Bella's mother wrote to us from prison, but we both agreed that not even accepting the delivery of the letter was the best course of action. She has tried a few times over the years, but as her sentence was twenty years, so we have a good long while before we have to worry about her coming around here. We do also have a plethora of evidence thanks to my dad, against Renee in case she ever comes up for parole, my dad keeps that possibility under close supervision.
Dad eventually got fed up with the constant misuse of the jet and eventually moved to Portland, so that my mother isn't spending so much time away from him, she still spends more time here than she does at home, especially during the holidays, but not nearly as much as she did.
After five and a half years with my Bella, I have become better at everything because of her. A better officer, a better man, son, father, friend, and husband, and lover. Because that is what she does for me, I don't know what forces sent me into that bar that night but I will forever be grateful for it.
