Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, only the OC.
"What…" She frowned, noting that her head was aching and her whole body was hurting. Scratching her head, she finally took in her surroundings and froze because what the hell? A second later, she was on her feet and on high alert. What was she doing in the middle of a forest? Not even a moment ago she was in her room, looking over some files while drinking coffee to stay awake.
And now she was here, surrounded by trees and nothing else.
Deciding that it would be better to move for now, she advanced while trying to pinpoint any sign of civilisation nearby and after a while, she was forced to admit to herself that there was none. She truly was alone, in the middle of the forest.
She shivered, feeling the coldness in her legs and the goosebumps on her arms. Was she going to die of hypothermia? Is that how it's going to be?
She scoffed.
She wasn't the type to fall asleep when she was studying, even more so if her future was at stake. And she damn well wouldn't let a stupid forest stop her from getting the position of the head of the cardiothoracic department, she had finally cornered that old man to test her abilities in order to retire and let her take his place.
That old Dubois had always been reluctant to give her the position and had said many times no when she pestered him about it. And it was only when he was about to give his position to Marco that she nearly strangled him herself. That sweet Marco who only knows how to suck up to higher ones. She rolled her eyes at the memory.
She had then challenged Dubois to test her. If she wins, she gets his position and if she fails, she resigns from her position. It was risky, everyone said but she knew she wasn't going to lose. It's not like her title of the youngest cardiothoracic surgeon was just a decoy. She was, after all, a genius in terms of the medical field.
She recalls that her interest in medicine was ignited by a TV series she watched when young. That spark of interest had turned into flames of passion once she started studying medical texts. From then on she worked her ass off, day and night to progress. And that's how she came to be a cardiothoracic surgeon at one of the most renowned hospitals in the world.
And it wasn't that asshole, Marco, who was going to take her place.
Hearing her stomach grumble, she sighed and prayed to God that she finds a village or even a place for the night soon, otherwise she was sure to be dead in a few days. If not of hypothermia, then of hunger. And if not of hunger, then of dehydration. Or maybe a wild beast would devour her. There were so many ways of dying, she didn't know which one was the worst.
Just hope I don't come across a bear.
Gazing at the sky, she saw that it was only mere hours away from when the sun would be replaced by the moon. Damn, she thought, she really didn't want to stay outside in the cold wearing shorts and a loose t-shirt. She'd freeze to death before dawn and to die young wasn't on her itinerary of things to do in life.
She suddenly stilled. She hadn't heard a single sound in the forest. It was almost as if every living thing was dead. It wasn't normal. Weren't there usually some kind of birds singing or squirrels flying from one tree to another?
She slowly picked up her pace, feeling her heart bet in her ears. This, this whole situation was creepy and the reality of it was only now sinking in her head. Why was she here?
Seeing a silhouette of someone lying down next to a tree, she slowed down and nearly sighed in relief.
"Hello?" She tentatively called out. "Sir?"
Tentatively approaching him because what if he was just pretending to be asleep? What if he was some creepy old man?
But as soon as she was close enough to clearly see him, she forgot the cold, forgot the weird feeling looming in her heart and now she was running. That man was dead. She didn't need her medical knowledge to testify that. Anyone would understand so when they realised that he had some pointy sharp object stuck in his eye and a missing arm.
She was nearly hyperventilating. It was one thing to see people lying on the table while she was busy repairing their heart. Or see the blood when she cut them open. She was doing so to save them. And this.. This was something else entirely, that man had been killed. He was dead.
She ran as if her life depended on it. Which, in a way, it did. If the person who killed that man was still lurking somewhere around, she could very well be the next one on their list.
But the more she ran, the more corpses she discovered. It was like stumbling upon a massacre. She tried not to glance at the head lying in a pool of blood detached from his body, she tried to avert her eyes from the man who was cut in half, she closed her eyes upon seeing one who was half burnt.
She wanted out of this forest.
Her ears perked up when she heard noise. A lot of noise. Nearly crying when she thought this was going to finally be over and that she would, finally, see a living human being. It might have as well been hours since she woke up in this forest, even if she knew it had not even been an hour.
She stopped dead. This was not what she had expected to stumble upon.
War. That's the first thing she thought of when she saw the scene. Dozens of people fighting themselves to death and was that... Was that fire!?
She shrieked when she saw a sharp object heading straight for her and barely managed to avoid it. Trying to calm her heartbeat because what the hell? Was she in the middle of a war zone or something? She turned around to retrieve the object and saw a body fly past her in her peripheral vision. Why was everything flying around her? She turned away from the object and knelt in front of the man to check for a pulse. None.
Of course he was. And at this rate, all of them would end up like the corpses she saw on her way here.
Glancing at the object still stuck in the bark of the tree, she immediately recognized what it was. A kunai. A fcking kunai and it dawned on her where exactly she was. The corpses, the people wearing armours, the headbands, the fire, the forest… She was in Naruto, wasn't she?
She nearly laughed at the irony. Where else but in Naruto would there be just pointless fighting? And in the warring states period, no less.
She must be dreaming. She's going to wake up in her room any second now and go to the hospital to perform surgeries scheduled for the day, then she'll probably go back to her house and read a book, unless she had night duty. Yeah, everything's going to be alright. This is just a very realistic dream she cooked up due to stress.
She soon realized that it wasn't one when she felt a sharp pain in her shoulder. Looking at her shoulder, she saw a shuriken stuck there.
Great. Just great.
She had to get away from here before she ended up dead. She only managed to take a few steps before darkness engulfed her vision.
What the hell?
.
&&& Oh Go- I mean, Oh Kami, please get me out of here &&&
.
Tobirama stared at the girl one of his clansmen had brought back from the battlefield. She was dressed in inappropriate attire for battle. She was showing off too much skin. Her bottom part of the body was completely exposed, a flimsy piece of cloth being the only thing saving her modesty.
She looked no older than twenty. With mid-length brown hair and pale skin that did not belong to natives of Fire country. She didn't have anything resembling a weapon on her person. All in all, she seemed innocent if not a bit strange, but still innocent.
And it was exactly the fact that she looked innocent that made him frown. He couldn't detect a single trace of chakra and that irked him more than anything. According to conventional wisdom, every living being has some amount of chakra. And yet, before him was a person with not even a trickle of chakra. That was something he found hard to swallow.
And that is why he was suspicious. Was she truly innocent? Or was she dangerous? Maybe she was a spy?
Seeing her stir from sleep, he hesitated a moment before deciding to send the guard out so he could be alone with her
.
&&& Yeah I swear a lot, got a fucking problem with that &&&
.
The first thing she noticed was that her shoulder hurt like hell and her head was pounding like never. She pondered a moment if she should open her eyes and finally acknowledge the person who was trying to bore holes into her with their stare, or …she could just feign sleep.
What a funny thought, how in the seven hells could she fake sleep in front of a shinobi? So, she opened her eyes and found herself gazing into twin red orbs.
Oh my fucking god, is that an Uchiha- Ahh no, at further inspection, he had white hair and plain red eyes, with no spinning little dark points in sight. She was going to breathe out in relief before realizing who she was standing in front of.
The Second Hokage of Konoha!
Shit, I don't know if I'd rather be in front of an Uchiha or him.
Tobirama Senju wasn't known for the kindness his brother was famous for.
She remembered watching Naruto as a kid and loving the show and falling for some characters, but she would have never expected to wake up in it. Or maybe it was a dream?
The sharp pain in her shoulder when she tried to sit up told her she wasn't, in fact, dreaming.
Oh god, why couldn't she have landed in Kakashi's or Itachi's era, she thought morosely. Good God, those boys needed more love than anyone else. She'd just hug them to death and never let go because she would protect them and cherish them and tell them it's going to be alright. Just thinking of them made her heart ache.
I'd kill for that; Hippocrates and his oath be damned.
Sighing, she rubbed her head and looked straight at Tobirama. She wasn't going to be intimated by an albino.
But well, she had to say that the founders were hot. She just hoped she'd make it out of this cell alive to see the other three principal characters.
Dear Kami who sent me here, where you so bored that you needed someone like me to entertain you
A minute ticked by.
And another one.
She didn't know how long they stayed like that, him judging her and her trying to hold his stare. Usually, she'd be able to hold a stare for hours, until her opponent gave up, but it seemed that shinobi were experts at staring contests too. She gave up after five minutes and sighed. Damn her shoulder was throbbing and her head hurt.
Not knowing what to do, because she might have lost the staring contest but she sure as hell wouldn't be the first one to speak, she looked around. She looked in what could be described as a cell? Was she a prisoner? Why? She didn't do anything wrong; she was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.
The cell looked clean at least, it was a small room made entirely of wood (no doubt thanks to Hashirama she guessed) and she was laying on what looked like a futon. She could have had worst. At least she wouldn't be sleeping on a hard floor.
Finishing her inspection of the room, she turned her gaze back to the Senju who was still watching her as if she was a strange specimen from another world. Okay, maybe she had bags under her eyes but hey, everyone had them. Or maybe it was because of her pyjama? Okay her t-shirt said "Fck off, I only need sleep" but it's not like he never swore or heard someone swearing. Was it because of her-
Oh.
She nearly facepalmed. Of course she was strange for him. Here she was, in her t-shirt and short. For him, she might as well have been a prostitute wandering around looking like that and showing off so much skin.
Ha, she wanted to laugh. So what. She wasn't going to shy away just because she was showing her body, she did work hard for those legs after all.
Tired of him just staring, she decided to just give in because he was starting to annoy her with his silence.
"I don't know if anyone ever told you but it's rude to stare at someone like that"
Still no reaction. Great, she was stuck with an assh- "Who are you?"
Lord Tobirama finally decided to grace her with some attention.
She opened her mouth to answer but quickly closed it. She couldn't just go and say her name was Alice.
"Misaki" She smiled "It's nice to meet you, unknown stranger" she added sarcastically.
"Where are you from?"
"How rude to ask questions without at least introducing yourself" She huffed.
She did know him but it's not like he needed to know that she knew of him and his clan and literally all the other important characters from the show. It wouldn't do to look even more suspicious than she already was.
Seeing as he wasn't going to answer anytime soon, she sighed. Looks like she was sighing quite a lot lately.
"I don't remember." She tilted her head, trying to look as if she was thinking "I just woke up in the middle of the forest and when I was trying to find a way out, I stumbled upon those corpses and started running and I ended up in the middle of your battle"
He didn't look like he was buying her story. What could she say, gifted in the medical field she might be, it didn't mean she was a good actress.
"You're lying" He took a step forward and she'd have gladly stepped away from him if she wasn't already cornered against the wall. "I've never seen such clothes before" Another step "And you've got no chakra. How do you explain that?"
She nearly shuddered from his proximity. Damn, he was so handsome but a pain in the ass. Why couldn't she have Hashirama as her interrogator?
It wouldn't do to lose her calm and cover from him, he was just trying to intimidate her.
"Listen, I'm not lying to you, I really did wake up in the forest. And it's not my fault if you've never seen clothes such as mine, it's not like you've been to every single place this world. Lastly, how in the seven hells am I supposed to know why I don't have chakra? I was born like that, so go ask god yourself."
He stared at her for another minute before turning around to exit the room.
""Hey wait! Don't leave! I'm hungry! And thirsty! At least give me some water!"
He didn't spare her a glance as he closed the door behind him.
"Fcking albino"
.
&&& I'm going to die of dehydration though &&&
.
She wouldn't deny the fact that she was dozing off when she heard the door opening and looked up to see a tall man with long brown hair.
And here comes the second brother. Or should she say first? Since he's older than Tobirama? But they sure look the opposite of each other. One's like the sun and the other is more like… She wouldn't say the moon even if the moon is pretty and so is Tobirama but unlike the moon, he's cold.
Wait, technically the moon is cold too, right? But unlike the moon that makes you want to look at it for hours, the young Senju gives off an aura of 'Don't talk to me, don't look at me, don't even breath near me, I'll kill you'.
"Hello, how are you feeling?"
She would have gladly replied if her throat wasn't so fcking dry. Seriously, she's been stuck here for hours without even a single drop of water.
As if hearing her thoughts, Hashirama went out and quickly came back with a glass of water and some bread.
She nodded at him in thanks and quickly drank the water. "Thank you"
He smiled and sat down opposite of her. "No problem, I hope my younger brother hasn't been too hard on you"
Munching on her bread, she wondered what the best course of action was to answer his questions. Should she fake surprise that they were brother? Nah, she was too damn tired to put a fake smile and say everything was alright.
Gulping down the bread, she answered "It's okay"
Hashirama studied the girl in front of him. As stated by his dear brother, she didn't have any chakra. She was still wearing those strange clothes and he couldn't help but notice the blood staining her shirt and noted that no one treated her wound. It might have become infected.
"Do you mind if I take a look at your shoulder?"
Did she mind? Of course not, she would have kissed him for this proposition, it was the best thing she had heard in a while because honestly, her shoulder hurt like hell.
So when she gave him permission to look at it and by extension heal it, she was prepared for the pain to go away, not get ten times worse. She screamed as she pushed Hashirama away and clutched her shoulder. Oh God, it hurt. It hurt so much she felt tears slide down her face.
Having heard the commotion, the guards posted outside barged in ready to kill any enemy and Hashirama wasted not time ordering them to go and get Hiemi.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. Are you okay? Is there anything I can do?"
She would have loved to tell him to undo whatever it was that he did but before she could utter a word, she blacked out.
.
&&& No chakra you said? &&&
.
She wanted to throw up, and it certainly wasn't the best way to wake up. Clutching her head, she slowly tried to sit up, noting that her shoulder didn't hurt as much.
"Oh, you're finally awake! How are you feeling?" A little old lady was standing at the door with what looked like a basket full of herbs in her hands.
"Not good" Her voice came out dry. How long had she been out of it?
The old lady slowly put down the basket on a counter and went to fill up a glass with water before handing it to her.
"Thanks. Who..?"
"I'm Hiemi. I'm the one who took care of you those past four days"
Her eyes widened at that. How comes she was out for so long?
"Hashirama-sama told me it could be a side effect to you not having chakra."
"It…sounds plausible"
Four days would be more than enough for her shoulder to be less painful. She noted the clean bandages around it and looked back up to question Hiemi but she was nowhere in sight. After waiting a minute and seeing that she wasn't coming back, she decided to get out of the room and look around for someone who might help her get to Hashirama.
Something she noted as she walked through the hallways was that everything was made of wood. She would bet all her money that this certainly was the oldest Senju's work. One thing she always wondered about was if it really was a Kekkai Genkai? Many seemed to believe so but there have never been any other records of Senju being able to manipulate wood. The only thing he and Tsunade had in common was their ability to heal.
"Excuse me, Misaka-sama!"
She turned around to see a girl no older than fifteen running after her. She stopped to let her catch up.
"Misaki-sama, I've been searching for you. I'm here to take you to Hashirama-sama"
Searching for her? She hadn't been wandering for that long though. Wait, why was she calling her 'sama', she was no important figure here. She was about to ask when the girl suddenly stopped in front of a door before kneeling and says that she had brought Misaki-sama.
"Come in" The girl opened the door and respectfully bowed her head before mentioning her to step in the room.
"Ah Misaki! Glad to see you're finally awake"
She was sure the feeling was not mutual for Tobirama as he was literally glaring at her as if she had killed his cat. What was up with him anyway? She didn't do anything to him as far as she could remember.
"Nice to see you too, Hashirama. Tobirama" She only slightly bowed her head. No way in hell was she going to start bowing properly to people. She wasn't even Japanese for god's sake!
Which made her question how she even understood whatever they were saying or how she could speak that language.
"As I was saying to my dear brother, I would like to extend you an invitation to remain with our clan until you regain your memories back"
Oh.
