I stare at the closed elevator doors that Christian went through two hours ago for work. He was supposed to have a week off of work, to be with me after Leila but Ros called him last night and asked him to come in for a few hours today. He really didn't have any choice in the matter, being the CEO of GEH. I pouted like a child when he kissed me and told me that he was leaving to go to work, just as he was stepping into the elevator so I wouldn't cling to him like a koala bear does to a tree. Christian called Mia last night when I was asleep to ask her to keep me company today and Mia called Kate and they both came here just as Christian was leaving. They attacked me with a hug the minute they saw me.
Maybe he isn't at work, maybe he's seeing Leila. Maybe I should go to Grey house and see Christian.
"Don't even think about it, Steele." Kate says from behind me, making me jump in fear. Since Leila, I've been jumpy about everything. I frown. I want to talk to her. "We know that you want to talk but you have to be patient with yourself." Kate says, somehow reading my mind gently, coming to embrace me. I melt into her arms like I always have since we were kids. "Kate's right, Ana, be patient. You'll get to talk eventually, but for now, use this." Mia holds my phone out to me. "You can use this to communicate with everyone until you're allowed to talk again." That's a smart idea. I beam at my boyfriend's sister.
Good idea, thanks Mia. I type out as quickly as I can. Mia smiles as she reads it. "No problem, Ana, happy to help Christian's main girl, now stop staring at those damn doors and let's have some girlie time before that brother of mine comes back and kicks me and Kate out." I open my mouth to laugh when I growl.
I hate Leila! I type furiously and show it to my friends who nod in agreement with me. "That bitch is dead the next time the boys see her." Kate says giggling evilly. Mia chimes in with "you should have seen Elliot and Dad's face when they saw you. They were pissed. It took Mom and Kate to hold them back from storming out of the hospital to find her." Mia says frostily.
We into the library where there's a tv hanging on a blank wall. I sit down on my fluffy chair that Christian bought me when he found me asleep in his. "Let's watch a movie on Netflix!" Kate cheers, snatching the remote from the coffee table. We all decide to watch Red Riding Hood.
Two hours later we're all in tears after the film. "That was so fucking romantic!" Kate squeals. I nod. That's all I've been able to do for days since I woke up in the hospital. I look at my friends, grateful that they've taken the day out of their schedules to sit with me just because they don't want me on my own.
I love you guys. I type out before showing them. "We love you too, Ana." They reply in unison. It's not long before we're all curled up together on the floor bathed in blankets and pillows and falling asleep.
