CHAPTER 3:
As soon as Arnold and Helga finally calmed down, which wasn't a short time period, they sat down on the living room couch. Helga cringed at the old, disturbing creak the outdated couch made as Grandpa Phil laid out what was going to happen, "Alright, ya two whippersnappers, we only have one free room. Now for the time being, your parents get that room."
The two ten year old children nodded, but Helga raised her eyebrow, "Hey," she stated, "what about me? Where will I sleep?"
Grandpa Phil looked at her with a sly grin, "Why, in Arnold's room of course!"
"WHAT?!" they each yelled in inquisition, before they looked at eachother. Arnold looked at her in complete terror, while Helga feigned a face of horror, but was truly joyful on the inside.
Arnold gulped nervously, "B-b-b-b-bu-I-I-mean-"
Grandpa Phil chuckled and put his hand on Arnold's shoulder, "No need to thank me, Shortman," he whispered, much to his grandson's fear, before turning to Helga, "now lemme show ya your room, kiddo!"
As Grandpa Phil walked the bewildered children to their room, Bob and Miriam were unpacking in their new room.
Bob, needless to say, was extremely pissed off, "I can't believe the beeper market just crashed out of nowhere! Just who does that market think he is?!" he grumbled, waking up his wife, "O-oh," she mumbled, with her 'smoothie' in hand, "I-I dunno honey, but I don't think the market can think for itself-"
"JUST GO BACK TO SLEEP, MIRIAM!"
"Alright alright!"
Bob narrowed his eyes as he reached for his cellphone, calling his trusty friend Nick Vermicelli, "Hey, Nick!"
"Whaddaya need, Bob?"
Bob smiled mischievously, "I need some help."
When Arnold and Helga made it to their shared room, there was still an extreme amount of tension between them. They could barely even look at eachother, it was so bad!
Grandpa Phil smiled, "Alright, now you'll both be sharing the couch-"
"Oh!" Arnold said, feeling like he got shot.
"Oh~" Helga moaned in joy.
"-and the desk-"
"Oh!"
"Oh~"
"And the bed!"
"OH!"
"OH~"
Grandpa Phil howled in laughter at their reactions. He knew Helga's secret, and he had a feeling Arnold had feelings in return.
"Have fun kids" he said, sprinting out of the room, trying to escape Arnold's relentless possibility of questions.
"WAIT, NO!" he yelled out, before turning to Helga, who was lying in complete bliss on his bed. Arnold raised an eyebrow, "Err, Helga?" he asked, making Helga snap out of it then blush in embarrassment, "U-uhm yeah whatever, football head!"
Funny, she looked cute then.
Arnold shook his head straight. Helga? Cute? Come on! She's a bully!
He decided to be more authoritative with her, "Alright Helga," he said in a loud booming voice, which came less than demanding and more adorable to Helga, "here are the rules! Don't call me football head, yutz or any other names! Don't mess with my things, and don't take anything!"
Helga snorted, "Whatever you say, Football head."
"Grr!"
"I'm gonna go get a snack. See ya in the funny papers, yutz." she replied again, smirking, much to Arnold's rising anger.
It wasn't long before it was dinner time, and all the boarders, including the Patakis, sat together to eat.
Oscar was bickering with his wife, along with Grandpa Phil trying to make peace by joining them in their bickering. Ernie and Mr. Hyunh were conversing as Arnold and Helga eyed eachother from across the room with pure untrust and unknown lust on Helga's side.
Supper was served by Grandma Pookie, who made some burnt chicken with the scent of a sock. Helga's cheeks greened as she ran to the bathroom.
Arnold eyed her. He still wondered why she was so cruel to him, and that thought still stuck with him. He thought about being nicer when they met in his room for bedtime.
When that time came, Helga limped her way to bed in pure exhaustion. Arnold blushed as she joined him in bed, "U-uh Helga?" he asked, turning her head to his, "What?"
"I-I'm sorry about snapping earlier. I just wanted to make sure you didn't try anything. Surely you can understand, right?"
Helga narrowed her eyes, "That's crap. Go to sleep."
He sighed in defeat, "Alright." he replied, going to sleep shortly after.
Helga looked at her beloved, smiling dreamily, "Oh Arnold!" she cooed, playing with his hair, "I'm sorry I must be so cruel, my beloved! I love you!" She then kissed his cheek, making him smile in his sleep.
She grinned slyly as she cuddled up to him and fell asleep.
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Honestly I like to think of this being pre-Season 4, where Arnold doesn't really know Helga outside of just being a bully. It makes this type of story more interesting.
I hope you all enjoyed this chapter!
