So the past few days were... interesting.

I was almost killed, Ruby and I had a talk... and I got out of the hospital.

Yikes.

And then there was the topic of... my newly discovered abilities. My-

My scroll went off.

Moving over I sighed, reaching and answering the call.

"Hey Ruby."

"Rodin! Hey, um, listen. I know you said you'd be back in a few hours, but I just-"

"Want to hear my voice, know if I'm safe, if I want cookies at the place Yang took you. I know." I stretched myself out, making myself comfortable.

"Sorry…"

My heart hurt a bit at making my best friend sad. I could imagine her big silver grey eyes, pouting.

Her... delicious light pink lips.

My face lit up into a bright red blush, and I shook my head.

Best friend Rody dody, stop sexualizing your best friends.

I mean it wouldn't be the first time.

Back home I had a lot of friends who knew I was gay, and teased me a lot. They were hot, and made me hot, and bothered.

Freya...

I couldn't think about that now. Not now. Not when I had people that I had to protect.

I had a power. A power I had to figure out, and learn how to use. Somehow.

So many things were coming undone. Why am I thinking about this now? Why am I only thinking about this now?

"Hey, if you got hurt and then ran off into the forest… I would have strapped you down to the hospital bed."

"You got more than just hurt Rodin." She frowned over the call. "You... you almost died. Do you even feel numb from that?"

"I..."

I didn't. It was weird, how nonplussed I felt about everything. More than anything I felt worse about how I worried my friends and teammates.

"How's everybody else?"

"You would know more than me." She grumbled.

There was truth in that. None of my very hot friends let me get very far. For some my very near death still fresh on their minds.

Some of them had seen me get ripped apart, including Ruby...

I took a deep breath.

No one wanted to leave my side. Everyone and I got a little closer. I could feel it in my heart.

I knew everybody was worried. 'Acting out', they said. 'Worried about me' they said.

My hand lowered, eyes lidded.

"I'm sorry I'm worrying everyone." I leaned up, puting my scroll closer to my ear. "I'm sorry I'm worrying you."

It was quiet on her end for a second.

"Why are you out there Rodin?"

I opened my mouth. Then closed it.

"There's... some things I need to figure out. About myself. I need answers. I shouldn't be long. Just... wait for me, all right?."

A spiritual journey, one could say.

"...alright. but if you're out there to long I'm gonna come and get you."

I let out a deep sigh.

"Wouldn't have it any other way."

Seeing others hurting brings out the trait, which boosts your aura, physical, and mental stats by 20%.

I nodded.

"Stats."

I blinked, frowning at the little exclamation mark next to my level.

And clicked on it.

[You've reached level 10! Congratulations! You have 3 perks to chose from! They come every 10 Lvs so keep grinding!]

[The Warrior]-Bonus 5 points to both STR and VIT! A 50% increase in Regen! Gain the skill [Secret Bloodline].

[The Thief]-Bonus 5 point to both DEX and VIT! Gain skill [Golden Tongue] and aquire rare skill [Stolen Heart].

[The Mage]-Bonus 5 points to both INT and WIS! Acquire trait [Inherited Destiny]. Unlocks Magical potential.

I paused, blinking rapidly.

"Wait... level 10? I've had this since 2 levels ago?" My voice reached a pitch I didn't think it could go. I got screechy when pissed off.

I pinched the area between my brow, trying to not get angry at myself.

"No use in dwelling on what ifs." I sighed. "I gotta chose one right?"

[Correct.]

"Cool..."

I leaped up into a tree, getting situated as I thought about my options.

"Well I always wanted to learn magic." I tilted my head side to side, before frowning. "Nah."

[Perk selected!]

Through dust was once a body formed. A chosen in the light of day. Given the will to never give up, strength was born.

"Oh wow." I swallowed, looking at all the new information.

I could feel something changing inside of me. No... unlocking. It felt good.

I felt good about this.

And maybe... I could stop worrying everyone if I could just heal faster.

-140% to physical stats and abilities once the power leaves you. Debuffs last until rest.

I had looked at that at least a dozen times over since I had figured out how to see the skill.

It had been a few hours, a few hours where I figured out the ends and outs of my power, The Gamer.

Ruby had called a few more times, and I told her I was fine.

I trained my skills, figured out exactly how strong I was, ripped apart a few more Grimm.

I felt ready.

70 Exp!

Level up!

I paused, holding out my weapon mid swing.

[Lvl: 13]

I shifted my weapon, sliding my sword and shield onto my back.

"Stat points."

[45 points available.]

Damn. That's as much as I had the last time I spent them.

My lips quirked into a smile.

I should make it a thing to spend some everytime it hit 45. It felt right.

"Umm... 10 in WIS, I have a feeling I'm gonna need that. another 10 in VIT please."

[Whatever.]

"Stats."

I felt really proud about how much I had grown in the few hours I had to myself.

My next goals were getting aura, getting more skills, and to stop worrying all my friends.

I clicked on Extras, having not looked at that one yet.

I frowned seeing a list of different boxes in front of me.

"Volume 1? Hey Game what is this?"

[A list of different volumes for this world. 12 altogether giving a general overview of a show. Sets a timeline in which the original story would have followed.]

I tried to wrap my head around that.

"Volumes. Show. Clicking on one would give me insight on how things would have turned out?"

[Correct.]

"Their lives if I didn't get involved..."

My finger itched towards the screen.

"Nope." I closed the window. "Can't fall down that rabbit hole."

Now I had to get back. My friends were worried.
